Well, good morning, adventurers.
Good morning, y'all.
Can you guess where we are?
We're in Colorado.
It said it on the screen, didn't it? Oh,
yeah. Dang it. I haven't done it yet, but I probably put text there somewhere, didn't I?
Yeah. Those are mountains, y'all.
Oh, yeah. Right over there.
We haven't been in the mountains for a second. This little boy is having a
second. This little boy is having a milestone birthday at the end of the month. He's turning 40. So, we're doing
month. He's turning 40. So, we're doing a little road trip to meet some friends way out in Palm Springs. But, I decided that maybe the best birthday present of all was to let Eric have a little action on the side.
Oh, yeah. That's right, you guys. Once
again, we are cheating on Clementine with this little cutie.
What did you guys think we meant?
Huh? But we have learned our lesson, you guys. This camper isn't from the 70s,
guys. This camper isn't from the 70s, the '8s, or even from the '90s. It is
actually from this millennium.
This is actually the smallest motor home that you can get in the USA.
I think this rig must have a little guy complex or something because it's been all beefed up and converted to a 4x4.
So, yeah, our vintage rig is great and all, but she has got a lot of junk in the trunk. She doesn't fit in any normal
the trunk. She doesn't fit in any normal parking spaces, and driving her around is a lot of work. But you guys know we love ourselves a class CRV and we've always wanted to take out a super tiny one. So, we're going to be zipping all
one. So, we're going to be zipping all around Colorado in this little rig, seeing what it's like to live in something that can actually take you the places that you want to go.
And it's t-shirt weather for now.
Yes. Well, down here, but we of course are heading up in there where it is very much not. In fact, I think there might
much not. In fact, I think there might even be a winter storm coming, but I'm sure this rig can handle it.
All right. Are we ready to go?
Ready.
All right. The mountains are calling and we are heating that call right now.
heating it.
That's all I got. Let's go.
Okay.
Holy cow, you guys. It's like 4 feet to get up in here. All righty. Here we go.
Whoa.
What is this about? It's like scaling a mountain to get in here and then this is like a baby seat.
There's something really funny about it being the tiniest class Cat that you can get, but it is the hardest one to get into. Y'all, we're filming right now on
into. Y'all, we're filming right now on the Osmo Nano from DJI, and uh they are actually partnering with us on this video. You guys, this little camera
video. You guys, this little camera blows all of the other action cameras we've used completely out of the water.
First off, it shoots in 4K, so the quality is amazing. But check this out.
You can separate the camera from the screen. I mean, come on. How freaking
screen. I mean, come on. How freaking
cool is that? And it's all magnetized, so it snaps to any metal surface. So
that means you can set the camera anywhere you want and still be able to monitor it with this little vision dock.
And the bottom is magnetized, too. So
you can mount this thing any which way you want. We can use this thing to get
you want. We can use this thing to get all sorts of super creative shots that we can't do with our normal camera. So
we're going to be using it a lot during our road trip.
All right, we are officially off.
You know, it's funny when you're inside of this rig, it actually feels really big for some reason until I look back here. I'm like, "Oh, it's freaking
here. I'm like, "Oh, it's freaking tiny." So, I think cuz we're up so high
tiny." So, I think cuz we're up so high and the engine's super beefy and loud like Oh, yeah. Crank it, baby.
Oh, yeah. Crank it, baby.
Yeah. Here we go. Somehow it feels bigger in here than it does in Clementine, I feel like. I don't know why.
It's probably about as wide as Clementine, especially. I mean, I don't
Clementine, especially. I mean, I don't know if you guys have noticed yet, but the mirrors stick out like 2 ft from the vehicle.
Yeah. But fingers and toes crossed that we don't hit anything with those mirrors.
I'll tell you what, it doesn't matter if you're in a new RV, an old one, a big one, a small one. They are clanky.
Everything is rattling around back there.
But on the plus side, we made it to this super adorable little town. What town is this? Lions or Leones? I don't know.
this? Lions or Leones? I don't know.
Adorable towns are a dime a dozen in Colorado. Huh?
Colorado. Huh?
I know. I'm so jealous. They're freaking
everywhere. And they've got like mountain views. Oh, it's great. I feel
mountain views. Oh, it's great. I feel
like it's a really big rig, but I have to remind myself that we're actually fairly petite, especially when we're maneuvering in parking lots and things.
In our RV, we have a backup camera that's always running, so we can always see what's going on back there. That
would be a huge plus.
This is when you know you're getting into high altitude. When your chip bag gets all puffy like it's going to explode. Also, it is um very frigin
explode. Also, it is um very frigin windy and it's blowing this rig all over the place. Huh.
the place. Huh.
I'm not loving it, you guys.
Yeah.
Um well, just look at the road. Don't look
inside.
Yeah, but I'm worried that our little vents the the hoods for them might go flying off.
I mean, you guys probably can't tell, but it's blowing us all over the road.
Crazy.
Well, we've gotten onto a dirt road that has turned into a really sloppy but not icy road. But luckily, we have the 4x4
icy road. But luckily, we have the 4x4 if the roads do get pretty rough. So, we
should be good. Getting pretty
beautiful though huh?
It is. It's lovely. We're all of a sudden in the forest, man.
So, we grabbed this rig in the town of Loveland. We headed out west to this
Loveland. We headed out west to this little town that's super adorable called Allen's Park. And then from there, you
Allen's Park. And then from there, you can take a road called Ski Road that, as you can hear, is kind of rough. But
right now, there's a bunch of houses.
So, it's pretty residential, but the internet assured us that you can find some really cool camp spots like on a creek if you follow this road long enough.
So, we're going to follow the road hopefully long enough.
Well, y'all, it's gotten pretty snowy, so I think we are going to engage the 4x4. You should be able to just pull it
4x4. You should be able to just pull it right down one.
There we go. Green light.
Green light came on. Should be a 4x4.
Well, we went down the trailways. We got
to use the 4x4 some. And uh we found a pretty cool spot. I mean, she looks in her element, don't you think? There's a
lot more snow up here than we thought there would be. And I'm pretty sure there is like a little flowing creek over there.
You guys, that thing is so high. I feel
like I'm going to break an ankle gang out of there. My knees do not like this.
What do you think?
Is this a spot? Does it work?
It looks pretty cool, huh? I'll tell you guys, Colorado never gets old, huh? And
we could go further, but on the GPS, it looked like there weren't many turnout, so we'd have to go a long way.
Plus, I think we mentioned it, but there's this winter storm coming. I
don't know how bad it's going to be. I
don't know quite when it's going to start. And of course, now we have no
start. And of course, now we have no signals, so we're just stuck out here.
So, we figured take a spot that's close to the end of the road.
So, we are probably going to wake up to this just being a blanket of snow.
Hopefully, not a blanket of ice tomorrow. But we got the 4x4, so we're
tomorrow. But we got the 4x4, so we're good.
Yeah.
And you look so cute today.
A thanks you guys. We were talking about Colorado is so great for our hair. Look
at it. It's just flowing. Not frizzy at all.
Should have put the clip on mics on.
Oh, yeah. Oh, I still got it in here.
It's not on.
Is it working? Is this thing on?
This thing's on.
Well, they It's chilly out here.
Well, all right. I guess this is going to be our spot for the night. This is
our home sweet home.
Home sweet home. You know, we really haven't even taken much of a look in the back. We literally popped in and put our
back. We literally popped in and put our stuff in and that was it. So, should we take a little peek and see how small this thing actually is?
And again, there's no stairs to get up in here. So, with all my might, here we
in here. So, with all my might, here we go.
Well, first things first, the entryway is pretty cramped.
Well, it is when you're trying to get two people in at one time.
Yeah, we got to take our boots off because there's a lot of mud out there and I'm not tracking a single bit of mud in here, you guys. No.
But yeah, this is this is it.
This is all 19 ft of it.
It is tiny.
Yeah.
Well, this thing might be small, but it is mighty. And it has everything that
is mighty. And it has everything that you would expect in an RV and way more than you would ever get in a Sprinter van. Come at me, Sprinter van people.
van. Come at me, Sprinter van people.
This is better.
You're Why you so hostile to Sprinter Sprinter vans, bro?
They just really don't like them.
They're way too cramped.
And hey, we can fit in a parking spot, too.
Yeah, we can. And look what I can do.
Can you do that in your Sprinter van? I
doubt it. So, the layout is pretty cool in here. First, we've got this extra
in here. First, we've got this extra little chair. Not really sure what it's
little chair. Not really sure what it's doing here, but it's got a seat belt so you can have buddies along for the ride.
And then over here, you have pretty classic the dinette. This would go down and turn into a bed. A very small bed. I
don't This feels like a twin bed to me.
And then back here is quite a substantial kitchen, y'all. We have a pretty beefy fridge. We've got the microwave. Got a nice sink and a good
microwave. Got a nice sink and a good bit of counter space.
I like this layout a lot, you know, because this feels like an actual kitchen, like kitchen space.
Yeah, it is. And it's nice that it's a little bit removed from people back here, so you're not fighting for the the kitchen dining area.
Of course, there is storage from top to bottom. We've got these cabinets up
bottom. We've got these cabinets up here, some cabinets over to the left side, and then down below the sink, more cabinets and drawers.
Sadly, there is no oven, but we do have a nice little cooktop.
You know, I've never seen a round sink in an RV, but yeah, there you go. I
mean, this is probably bigger and deeper than the one we even have in Clementine.
Yeah. Behind this door is the bathroom, and it's one of those combination bathrooms that Allison faking hates. But
yeah, combination means that you're going to have the toilet in the shower, and the whole room itself is just like waterproof plastic. Got a little rack
waterproof plastic. Got a little rack thing over there, a little snake shower head, which is pretty typical for showers like this. The world's tiniest little round sink. And then I guess what you're supposed to do is close this when
you're in there because it keeps water from like hitting the door and getting into all this stuff and spilling out into here. I am loving this POV stuff. I
into here. I am loving this POV stuff. I
might look like a goof. Plus, I'm
wearing Allison's hat, but this is really neat, huh? Ain't that cool?
I feel like you're going exploring or something like that or I'm like doing some kind of augmented reality thing or VR.
It does look like that. Yeah. Also, that
hat looks better on me.
Yes, it does.
And lastly, we have the front of the rig, which has this overhead cab that will turn into a bedroom. You've got the front seating area, which always doubles as our storage area. Sorry, it's really
gnarly right now. Stand here so you can't see it all.
All right, so we are going to go ahead and say that this spot is looking pretty good. I don't think anyone else is going
good. I don't think anyone else is going to show up today, and we still got a little bit of daylight left. So, there's
actually this beautiful lake just down the road that we were hoping we'd have time to check out, and we do. So, I
think we're going to head there before it gets too dark.
We're on this winding mountain road right now. And what's crazy is that it's
right now. And what's crazy is that it's just surrounded on each side with loose boulders. Just millions and millions of
boulders. Just millions and millions of them that look like they could just fall at any moment. It just seems like they could easily ruin someone's day or kill them.
I mean, the whole thing looks like it's about to slide off and squash us.
You just have to trust that the odds of you being here when one of them falls is slim to none.
Yeah. But someone's going to be here.
There are so many lakes in this area and this is one of the most beautiful of them all. This indeed
them all. This indeed is Lily Lake.
Very cool. Check it out. I'm filming on the Osmo Nano again. You can do these awesome POV shots where you don't have to have a camera in your hands. But what
I love is they have all these awesome accessories. Like there's the tiny
accessories. Like there's the tiny suction cup that we've been using to get shots from the window. You guys have already saw the little hat clips. You
can just clip that onto any hat. But I
love this little lanyard. At first I was like, "What the heck is this thing?" You
wear it like a necklace and it's magnetized. So you can just clip the
magnetized. So you can just clip the Nano right onto it.
In fact, that is what he is using right now in his hat.
Look, that's the clip right there.
Yeah.
How cool is that?
All right, back you go, little guy. And
now follow me this way.
And this little vision dock acts as a charging station. So, when you connect
charging station. So, when you connect it like this, it's actually charging the camera battery up here.
And believe it or not, the battery on this thing lasts up to 200 minutes, which is great because it takes a lot of juice to capture these moves.
You know, if you all dig Allison's moves, wait till you see them in slow motion.
We're officially in the RV for the night. Y'all look at this. I'm cooking
night. Y'all look at this. I'm cooking
up a little storm back here. I love this kitchen. It's kind of got everything I
kitchen. It's kind of got everything I need. It is all at like finger fingers
need. It is all at like finger fingers reach, hands reach, fingertips at my fingertips.
It is cool how you just have the little cooking nook back here.
This is my area. Eric's been working.
That's his area. Got some uh chicken frying. I've got some rice going. I have
frying. I've got some rice going. I have
some broccoli already steamed.
It has also started to snow outside. So,
I do think we're probably going to wake up to a blanket of snow on the ground. I
hope so. We've kind of dodged winter this year. You know, we went straight to
this year. You know, we went straight to Florida right in January.
We miss everything. Sorry for everyone who was in the middle of all those crazy winter storms, but should have come down to Florida with us and then to Mexico.
Y'all, the kitchen is open and it's looking pretty good. Nice job, kid.
We have a horror movie queued up because that's what you watch when you're alone in the woods. But we're hoping that the horror stays in here and not in real life and that nobody comes up and kills us in the night.
It is a little freaky cuz every once in a while someone drives down this road and you got to wonder like what are they doing driving down this? I mean, it's pitch black outside. It's a snow covered road. It's hardly passable by most
road. It's hardly passable by most vehicles.
I don't know. It is a weekend though.
But I imagine in the spring you'd have a lot more traffic.
Food, movie, fun. Yes. Cheers.
Yay. Back on the road and not in a rig that breaks down. Sorry, Clementine.
All right, we ended up making the bed up here in the top bunk. We accidentally
stayed up way too late. We downloaded
some movies offline. Oopsie. But it was a lot of fun. Well, hopefully we wake up to a nice winter wonderland and not a horrible frozen tundra. And with that,
good night.
Check this thing out, y'all. That's not
an icicle. That's a weapon.
That is certified. And they'd never find it.
I know. It's the perfect crime. The
weapon melts. Oh, this is really cold.
Check that out.
Oh, yeah. It's It's freezing cold.
yeah. It's It's freezing cold.
Feel the power. All right.
Get it out of here. So, yeah, we did get a nice little blanket of snow last night. Um, luckily not a lot. So, we're
night. Um, luckily not a lot. So, we're
going to drive right on out of here, y'all.
Yay. So, we're thinking that our battery won't charge up and our heater kept turning off in the night. So, we
basically had to sleep with no heat.
Yeah, it was brutal.
It was brutal. But like 6 a.m. Eric got
up and started the vehicle so that it we would have power. But it was cold and hard.
Well, this spot started off great and now it's just miserable. So, we're going to get the heck out of here.
So, y'all might have noticed that the audio has been sounding pretty dang good in these driving shots. And that is because you might remember we've been using these little clip-on mics from DJI. And what's really cool is they
DJI. And what's really cool is they connect directly to the Osmo Nano. You
don't have to have a receiver or anything. You just turn them on and
anything. You just turn them on and boom. And it's recording all of this to
boom. And it's recording all of this to its own internal storage. So, I don't even need to put a memory card in this thing if I don't want to.
Plus, it's so cool to be able to change perspective so easily. Check this out.
Oh, hey boy. Hey, road. Hey, me. What
up? And then
back you go.
I feel like I'm going to die every time I get out of there. You guys trying not to be too frustrated, but I think we are going to have to change all of our plans for tonight. We were going to go stay
for tonight. We were going to go stay off grid yet again, but as we mentioned, the battery doesn't charge, so we can't use the heater without either the van front running or the generator going,
but every time we turn the generator on, it turns itself off after 10 minutes, if it turns on at all. It really sucked last night being so cold.
Yeah. Yeah, we don't want to just have the car idling all night. It feels kind of wrong. So,
of wrong. So, yeah. Exactly. So, I think we're going
yeah. Exactly. So, I think we're going to give up and get a campsite. Of
course, though, it's the beginning of March. Almost no campsites are open, but
March. Almost no campsites are open, but we found one in the city of Lions.
But the whole idea was to see what it was like to drive around one of these smaller rigs, to live in one of these smaller rigs, to do some of the 4x4, and we've kind of done that. So,
I think ultimately actually having full hookups tonight is just another experience, right? That's kind of what
experience, right? That's kind of what you would do if you had one of these anyway.
But for now, we are too freaking cold.
We're going to get some warm coffee. We
got to warm up.
The little cafe that I think is open for 30 more minutes. So, we're going to run in there and be like, "Please give us all the hot cappuccinos that you have."
Well, I guess this is what happens when you go without power for one whole day.
Everything was dead. There are two outlets over there and then two here.
That's all you get. So,
y'all know when we built out our rig Clementine, we made sure that the living room area was super big so that I could do workouts in there. My goal was to be able to do a workout in here as well, but I don't know. We'll see. I'm going
to give it the old college try, but it's going to be a little squish. I might end up punching some things. Okay, the time has come. I'm going to attempt a little
has come. I'm going to attempt a little booty band workout. It's like 25 minutes all standing.
Work that booty, girl.
Yeah, that's what you got to do in this life. While she's doing that, I'm going
life. While she's doing that, I'm going to sit over here and uh enjoy the view.
No, but seriously, I'm going to sit here and actually get some work done for once.
Well, this is all for you, sir. So,
you're welcome.
That is true. Good luck.
Thanks.
Aren't we eating turkey for dinner?
Oh god, not anymore.
We'll stick with chicken.
Yeah. Well, my workout worked out.
Good one.
I guess now that I pumped, my brain is on man.
So, how was it working out in the world's smallest gym?
It wasn't so bad. I didn't hit anything.
I didn't hit you. Having lived in Sprinter vans a time or two, definitely helped me. I forget we're at really high
helped me. I forget we're at really high elevation, so it was a lot harder than I think it normally would be.
Yeah. Nice job.
Yay.
Now, take a shower.
Yes, sir. Guys, it's dinner time.
So today might not have gone according to plan, but luckily pasta makes everything better.
Oh yeah, nice work.
Look at this. It's some like glutenfree four cheese pasta tortillini stuff.
I guess the plus side to not being off grid in the middle of the wilderness is we have cell signal and internet.
We have cell signal, internet. We have
all the lights. We can drain our tanks and our snakes.
Do you have a snake hiding in there that I should know about?
But y'all, we have finally gotten on board with the show The Bear. We have
been binging it basically most nights and one of our favorite things is to eat something that is very much not gourmet while watching them like work their butts off.
This looks like something they might have on the show kind of.
They might. Anyways, we are very happy to have heat, consistent heat, some delicious food to munch on signal so we can watch our stories.
For now, all is well for now.
So, we've actually been kind of fantasizing about getting a newer rig that's a little bit smaller that is four-wheel drive capable that we don't have to tow a vehicle behind. Um, so
that's why we really wanted to take this rig out and just see what it feels like.
I will tell you this, driving it is freaking awesome. You can just pull into
freaking awesome. You can just pull into anywhere. You can pull into any spot. We
anywhere. You can pull into any spot. We
didn't even come close to getting into a tight jam or anything. Pretty cool, huh?
No, it is nice to completely eliminate that stress. Like you just drive it
that stress. Like you just drive it around like it's a normal car.
And we've been able to take Clementine a lot of places, but having the four-wheel drive capability just gives you peace of mind and makes makes us stress out a lot less just knowing that you can pretty much get out of anything. Especially if
we added a winch on this or something, we could climb a freaking mountain. And
I will say spacewise, we don't need much more space than this. When we're in Clementine, we're always like, "This is almost like a few feet too big for us."
I could do my workout off camera. Eric
actually also did a workout. Way to go, Ben. Yeah, I think for us definitely
Ben. Yeah, I think for us definitely having a full kitchen, a full bathroom, and then the overhead bed so that it's tucked away. Those are our our things
tucked away. Those are our our things that we need in a vehicle and this thing had it.
But you guys should let us know your thoughts uh in the comments below. Could
do you think you could live in a rig like this? Is the 4x4 important to you?
like this? Is the 4x4 important to you?
Because for us, it really really is. But
our road trip is going to continue.
We're going to get back into our boring Durango and then we're going to head down to Vegas, baby.
Man, it's going to be a beautiful drive though. I'm very excited. more mountain
though. I'm very excited. more mountain
views and then into the warm sunny desert.
From here on out, this girl is going to be showing a lot more skin.
Yeah. Get all these clothes out of here.
Well, not all of them. Oh,
that might be for the other channel.
Yeah. Okay.
And with that, goodbye adventures. We'll
see you on the road.
