I talk about AI on this channel a lot and I think it's because it's so important as language learners and as intelligent adults that we use our
critical thinking skills and try to think for ourselves as much as possible.
Now, I'm not against AI. I believe it's a helpful tool. I use it in my work. I
recognize my students use it to improve their English. But I think there are
their English. But I think there are better ways of using AI. And today I have a very good example of that. As
someone on the internet, as a YouTuber, even though I'm a a small YouTuber, I do get people reaching out to me asking to promote their products. And
99% of the time it doesn't match my content. So I have to say no. So I've
content. So I have to say no. So I've
never actually done a sponsorship. If
you've followed me for a long time, you know that I don't I don't have sponsors on my videos because I want to make sure it actually matches my content.
This week, I received two emails from a company that were very clearly written by AI. Now, two things about that. The
by AI. Now, two things about that. The
first is I think it's a very good example of how we shouldn't just copy and paste AI responses.
And you'll see in this video, you'll figure out for yourself, and I'll explain a bit as well why it's important to not just trust the answer that AI
gives you. You can use the content they
gives you. You can use the content they give you, but you need to change it so it sounds more human. It's very obvious that this has been written with AI. And
I'm going to go through some of those reasons today. how I knew this was
reasons today. how I knew this was written by AI and the confusion caused when you trust AI 100% and don't proofread
read edit your emails before sending them. The second thing is because it has
them. The second thing is because it has been written by because it has been written by AI. There
are fantastic phrases, vocabulary, expressions in this email that are helpful and are very good to use in your English.
But if you use them correctly and if you are the one using them, not just AI using them. So in this video, it's going
using them. So in this video, it's going to be a listening video. new vocabulary
video and also advanced English because this is a very advanced email. There's
some advanced sentences in here, but also a kind of warning, a lesson on how to use AI properly in a way that doesn't
make you sound like a robot.
So, I will share the email with you. I
have changed the name of the company of course because I don't want them to receive any negative feedback because of this video. I just want to use it as an
this video. I just want to use it as an example for English learners. The first
email I received from this company says ciao. We are contacting you as
ciao. We are contacting you as representatives of the war game team to share an opportunity to work with the new content foundations being laid for
future updates.
With each stage of the game's evolution, new systems appear, older mechanics are strengthened, and the entire player experience becomes more interconnected.
These ongoing updates often need clear explanation and creators like you help provide it. Now very beautifully written
provide it. Now very beautifully written a lot of fantastic vocabulary in there complex sentences. However, two things.
complex sentences. However, two things.
If you have read my not read, if you have watched my video on how to write emails or you've done my business English course, in there we have a section on writing emails. They have not
introduced themselves.
We are contacting you as representatives of the war game team. I have no idea what the war game is. You have not explained what the war game is in this
first paragraph. I have no idea who you
first paragraph. I have no idea who you are, what you're trying to promote, why you are contacting me. So, it's a bad email first impression. Anyway, now if
we actually look at what is written, this first sentence to share an opportunity with the new content content foundations being laid for future updates.
What does that mean? I have no idea what that means. so to share an opportunity
that means. so to share an opportunity with me to work with new content foundations being laid for future updates. But I don't know what the
updates. But I don't know what the future updates are. I don't know what these content foundations are to be honest. The fra the phrase content
honest. The fra the phrase content foundations doesn't make any sense anyway because the foundations of something is how you started. So if
these are new foundations of how the game was created, that doesn't make sense. New content
foundations. If they had said something like to share an opportunity to work with the new updates and layouts that we are creating
for our games content that would make much more sense because now I understand, okay, they have a new update for a game that they have already created. It already exists, but there's
created. It already exists, but there's a new update. The way this is written is very confusing. I have no idea what
very confusing. I have no idea what they're talking about. Then it goes on to say, "With each stage of this game's evolution, new systems appear, older mechanics are strengthened, and the
entire player experience becomes more interconnected." Fantastic. However, you
interconnected." Fantastic. However, you
are assuming that I am a gamer, that I have any idea what these words mean.
Now, older mechanics are strengthened. I
don't know what the mechanics of a game game are because I'm not a computer programmer. I'm not a gamer. I don't
programmer. I'm not a gamer. I don't
know what that means. The player
experience becomes more interconnected.
This I can figure out. Interconnected is
a lovely word that means lots of different kinds of people, lots of different genres, areas, they are all connected together. We often use
connected together. We often use interconnected to refer to global businesses or exactly like this games that allow you to play from different
countries, different areas, but in real time.
This is a beautiful sentence. If it was further down in the email, but at this point in time, I still have no idea what you want me to do, why you're contacting me, and the writer of this email is
assuming that I know what they are talking about. These ongoing updates
talking about. These ongoing updates often need clear explanation and creators like you help to provide it.
Now, this is a bit of a strange thing to say anyway because if you are creating a new product, this is a bit of marketing
marketing and advertising um knowledge here. If you are creating a new product
here. If you are creating a new product and you need content creators to explain the product, explain how it works,
perhaps your product is not that good because a new product shouldn't need a lot of explanation.
And it says need clear explanation. So
you want me to explain how your game works? Well, if that's the case, then I
works? Well, if that's the case, then I should be on your team. I should be being paid. Typically, what happens when
being paid. Typically, what happens when somebody reaches out to an influencer, a content creator, they find a way for
that person to promote their product in a way that feels natural. So, let's say, for example, someone's created an AI English teacher that's free. I could
easily sell that to my subscribers because I could say, "Hey, have you heard there's a new free English teacher?
If you can't afford English lessons, don't have time for English lessons, you can download this app and you will have access to this free AI English teacher.
Now, if I have to explain how a game works whilst selling the game, that's not that's very confusing for the people listening.
So, okay, this doesn't make sense. Let's
move on because this is less about the the the words they've used. This is more just about their idea as a whole. So,
okay, let's move on from that. We'll
focus on just the vocabulary.
We would like to share a detailed compilation of documentation outlining the motivations for the upcoming adjustments.
If I have to read this sentence one more time, I think I might explode.
a detailed compilation of documentation outlining the motivations for the upcoming adjustments. This is a very
upcoming adjustments. This is a very complex over-the-top way of saying we want to share our portfolio, our documents, a detailed compilation of the
new adjustments.
They've used four different words that mean the same thing. Detailed
compilation documentation outlining the motivations. These all mean the same
the motivations. These all mean the same thing. You do not need to say all of
thing. You do not need to say all of those in a sentence. You could just say something like, "We would like to share a document with you that details the
upcoming adjustments, updates." You
don't even need to say upcoming because you've gone over the fact that it's new in the first paragraph. Detailed
documentation about our updates or about these updates because you've already introduced it in the first paragraph. So
this was something that told me this is AI because a person a human person would not write like this. It's just very overthe-top. It's very detailed where it
overthe-top. It's very detailed where it doesn't need to be detailed.
So if I was copying and pasting from AI, I would read this sentence and I would say okay that's too much. I would delete detailed compilation. I would
detailed compilation. I would deleteation.
I would delete outlining the motivations. And I would just say we
motivations. And I would just say we would like to share some documents detailing the upcoming adjustments.
Then for some reason I'm very passionate about this. I'm sorry. For me AI is a
about this. I'm sorry. For me AI is a lovehate relationship because everyone is so invested in AI thinks
it's the next best thing.
But for me, communication is getting worse. The ability to relate to someone
worse. The ability to relate to someone is getting worse. Yes, it's fine for professional situations. When you're
professional situations. When you're responding to emails time and time again, the same email, fine. But when
you're trying to create a connection with someone, we should not be using software to do that.
So for some reason here we go into more detail about this documentation even though the documentation is attached and I can read this for myself.
So the materials offer comprehensive feature breakdowns comparisons of mechanical states before and after rework and thematic insights into how
these systems are expected to refine gameplay over time. This would be fine if they were contacting someone in their team who is being paid to review this
information.
I am not in your team. You should not be sharing this much internal information with me. That's ridiculous. Even when I
with me. That's ridiculous. Even when I have lessons with students and they have to share a presentation with me or statistics with me, we have an agreement
that that is confidential. they cannot I cannot go and share that information with someone else and sometimes they have to black out certain parts of the
presentation because they cannot share that with someone outside the team. So
why are you sharing comprehensive breakdowns before and after the rework thematic? I didn't even know what
thematic? I didn't even know what thematic meant. Okay, everyone. And and
thematic meant. Okay, everyone. And and
when I looked up thematic, it means belonging to or relating to something.
So so it doesn't even make sense here.
And insights that belong to how these systems are expected to ref. It's just a lot. It it really is a lot. It's not
lot. It it really is a lot. It's not
necessary.
And think about the context of this email. You are contacting someone not in
email. You are contacting someone not in your team who has to then promote this product to their subscribers.
The vocabulary should be fun. It should
be exciting. It should be persuasive.
It should not be so detailed that I get so bored and think I should be being paid for reading this email. You know,
AI, when AI creates a response, it doesn't think about the context. It
doesn't think about the situation. It's
only creating a response to what you ask it to create. And what this person should have done is told AI, I am
writing to content creators. So the
vocabulary needs to be basic but persuasive.
They didn't do that. Or they could have reread the email and decided for themselves, this is too much information for someone who doesn't work on our team.
right here. Since your YouTube content demonstrates a clear focus on depth, accuracy, and clear communication, we believe these materials align well with
your creative strengths. Our aim is to give you access to a comprehensive foundation that supports crafting. Okay,
I'll come back to that last sentence because that's ridiculous.
Your YouTube content demonstrates a clear focus on depth, accuracy, and clear communication. Yes, it does.
clear communication. Yes, it does.
However, the clear communication is English language skills. Now, if someone in the comments wants to tell me how an English teacher would promote a game
about war and link it to English language, please let me know because I don't know the final sentence of this paragraph. Our aim is to give you access
paragraph. Our aim is to give you access to a comprehensive foundation. Again,
this makes no sense. A foundation is something you build upon. So for
example, foundation in English is what you learn at school. Your ABCs, the numbers, um saying words like want and give and
have, you know, basic verbs. That would
be a foundation. So having a comprehensive foundation is an oxymoron.
Is that the right word or is it juxtaposition? No, it's oxymoron because
juxtaposition? No, it's oxymoron because it's two opposites. You can't have a comprehensive foundation. A foundation
comprehensive foundation. A foundation is the basic understanding. So you're
telling me you have a very detailed understanding of the basics. Okay.
Technically you could, but then you wouldn't be basic anymore, would you?
You would be intermediate or more advanced or have more knowledge that supports crafting highquality wellorganized video content. So again,
we've changed the subject here. This is
not a foundation a comprehensive foundation of the game. this is suddenly a comprehensive foundation of how to make highquality content.
It's very it just doesn't make sense.
And I hope that me explaining it makes sense to you and you can understand why it doesn't make sense. you can feel that it doesn't make sense because I don't know if you're telling me that you're
going to give me access to the game or if you're giving me access to a document that shows me how I can make good content about the game. It's very
confusing.
Should your plans for future videos match this direction? What direction?
You haven't gone into enough detail about any particular thing for me to understand what direction.
You've said some basic words like comprehensive and um mechanical insights and re before and after rework but I don't
know what direction you're going in.
We are committed to offering any resources that could enhance your upcoming war game coverage. Now this is very strange because I have not agreed to do this
content to sponsor uh to work with this sponsorship. So why would I have an
sponsorship. So why would I have an upcoming war game coverage? Then they
just sign it. War game team. It should
have ended on if you feel this suits your kind of content, please get in touch and we would be happy to offer you
resources to help or a free membership to the game so you can play it. You
know, it it just doesn't make sense. And
I know I've talked for almost 20 minutes about just this email, but guess what everyone? There's a second email. Now,
everyone? There's a second email. Now,
as I said, some of these words are fantastic. you know, depth, accuracy.
fantastic. you know, depth, accuracy.
We believe these materials align well with your creative strengths. That's a
beautiful sentence. So, I'm not saying you can't use these words. Definitely
take out from this what you feel sounds good, sounds beautiful, you would like to include in your emails, but use it correctly
and read through what AI creates for you. if it doesn't make sense to you,
you. if it doesn't make sense to you, it's not going to make sense to the person you're contacting.
So, I didn't reply because I had no idea what to reply. I had no idea what they were asking me. So, then I got a second
email, which is very exciting. Now, this
time they started it kicha. So, I assume they're kind of like making a funny little joke where they say hello in different ways. And maybe if I wait
different ways. And maybe if I wait another week, I might get one that says bonjour. So, it's quite nice that they
bonjour. So, it's quite nice that they have this funny little kind of inside joke. And to be honest, if they continued that throughout the
email, I might be more likely to connect with them because I can see, oh, this person's kind of funny. They're trying
to relate to me. I'm a language teacher, so they're using different languages, but that's it. That's the end of the personality.
So, we are reaching out from Wargame to discuss a unique opportunity for collaboration, allowing you to create content that reflects the depth, innovation, and
community spirit of our constantly evolving universe. Okay, so at least it
evolving universe. Okay, so at least it was better than the last email because I actually know why they are contacting me.
A unique opportunity for collaboration.
Remember in the first email they never they said an opportunity to work with but this is much clearer. It's a
collaboration but then reflects the depth innovation and community spirit of our constantly evolving universe. Now, maybe I'm being
evolving universe. Now, maybe I'm being a bit nitpicky, which means
picking it apart in very micro detail, which sometimes we can say is too much.
You know, if you say someone's being nitpicky, it's like, okay, they're tearing it apart for no reason. But
because of the rest of the email, I want to p pick this apart. Our
constantly evolving universe. Do you
mean our as in you and me are both humans and we live in this universe and our universe is evolving or sometimes
when we talk about games they have their own universe in the game. So are you talking about your evolving universe in your game
play?
You know it's I I don't know. Perhaps
this should have been uh the depth, innovation, and community spirit of the constantly evolving universe seen in war game
or seen in our roleplay game or in our constantly evolving universe that I'm sure you experience on a daily basis as a content creator. Relate it to me. So,
either make it clear that you're talking about your universe or relate it to me as an English teacher.
our goal. So, I will give them this this second email. It's very clear. We have
second email. It's very clear. We have
why they're reaching out, their goal.
So, this is much clearer than the first one. Our goal is to provide you with an
one. Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to explore upcoming war game updates, gain early access to features and content, and participate in a
collaborative process that allows your voice to help guide and inspire the community. This is much better than this
community. This is much better than this mumbo jumbo.
Much better. It's very clear what they want from me. This partnership. So
again, very clear. The paragraphs are introduced nicely.
Oh, and this is very nice. Allows your
voice to help guide and inspire the community. That's very beautifully
community. That's very beautifully written. So this partnership is designed
written. So this partnership is designed not merely, very nice phrase, merely, not merely. It means not only. It's just
not merely. It means not only. It's just
another way of saying not only this, but also this. So, not merely to share war
also this. So, not merely to share war game, but to establish a shared space for discovery, storytelling, and interaction.
I think I've talked about this before, but when you give three adjectives or three verbs or three options, it's very persuasive. It's very
powerful. Think about your favorite speech giver, TED talker, motivational speaker. They will always say something
speaker. They will always say something like, "Life isn't just about work. Life
is about discovery, happiness, enjoying the small things." There will always be three things because when we say things in groups of three, it's powerful. It's
persuasive.
We value creators who bring genuine insight and care to their content. This
is nice because it makes me reading this feel like they've actually watched my content. They probably haven't. They
content. They probably haven't. They
don't have time to, but it it feels related to me. As your creativity can help make the games universe more vivid and engaging. Vivid is a beautiful word.
and engaging. Vivid is a beautiful word.
Engaging is a beautiful word. So, this
email feels much more like they've thought about who they're writing to.
They've prompted AI in a way that makes it more personal. This email is much better than the first one.
Together, we hope to nurture a mutually beneficial relationship that provides unique experiences, sparks discussion, and deepens connection to War Games dynamic world. Now, this sentence is
dynamic world. Now, this sentence is where it starts to get a bit strange because I understand that you want to work with me. However, you've talked about a
me. However, you've talked about a mutually beneficial relationship that provides unique experiences. Da da da da. Now, I'm going to be very direct and
da. Now, I'm going to be very direct and blunt here. As someone that makes
blunt here. As someone that makes videos, when you work with a sponsor, the reward for you is the money you get paid.
It's not the fact that you get the product for free. It's not the fact that you now have a sponsor. So, look at me.
I have a sponsor. It's the money you get paid and they pay quite a lot to sponsor uh to have a a spot in your video. As I
said, I haven't agreed to any sponsorship yet because I've not had anyone reach out that I feel actually suits my content.
So, when they talk about mutually beneficial relationship that provides unique experiences, that's a bit strange because for me, sorry, my fan is blowing
my hair all over the place.
For me, I don't get a unique experience out of this. I don't spark a discussion.
It doesn't deepen connection for me. I'm
not experiencing any of that. I just get paid.
Right? That's very direct. It's very
blunt, but it's true. And because my content is not about games, they don't know that I even want to play this game.
So, it's a bit presumptuous to say it's mutually beneficial. It
would be much better for them to just be honest and direct here and say, "We would gain more viewers, more players, more signups,
and you would be rewarded financially."
You know, it's I know they're trying to make it sound more beautiful, but this is a professional relationship. You
don't need to make it sound more beautiful. You tell me how much you will
beautiful. You tell me how much you will pay me. I tell you if I'm okay with
pay me. I tell you if I'm okay with that. Imagine you go to a a lawyer or a
that. Imagine you go to a a lawyer or a private doctor or anyone that you would pay by the hour and you ask them, you know, uh, what's your price? And instead
of giving you the price, they said something like, well, it's more than the cost. We would have a mutually
cost. We would have a mutually beneficial relationship.
We could work together to fix these problems, find solutions, work on your health together. You would say, "No, the
health together. You would say, "No, the benefit for me is the fact that I feel healthier. The benefit for you is the
healthier. The benefit for you is the fact you get paid."
It's very strange. It's a very strange thing to say in a professional setting.
Should this opportunity match your interests, we would be thrilled to engage in a detailed discussion about potential collaborations and answer any inquiries. Beautiful sentence, but it's
inquiries. Beautiful sentence, but it's too much. They could have just said, "We
too much. They could have just said, "We would be more than happy to book a call and answer any questions you have. This
is too over the top. This is too AI generated. It's too many words to just
generated. It's too many words to just say, "We're happy to answer any questions or if you're free, please let us know and we can arrange a call."
Also, another thing, if I'm going to have a call with these these people, which I'm not because I responded in a way that probably closes the door on this sponsorship and
I'll share my response with you. Um, if
I was to then have a meeting because I want to discuss this with them. I have
no feeling of what that person's like.
So, I'm going into this discussion completely blind. Whereas, if the email
completely blind. Whereas, if the email had been more personalized and I understood their personality and their passion for the game and why they work for this company, when I meet them in
this call, I already understand kind of who they are and it might make me feel more comfortable. So, think about it
more comfortable. So, think about it from that way as well. You want to show your personality. So the first time you
your personality. So the first time you meet is not a complete surprise. We are
committed to fostering your creative efforts and highlighting the unique aspects of War Games universe. Very
beautiful sentence. We are committed to fostering. Now this is beautiful. If I
fostering. Now this is beautiful. If I
worked for the company, I don't. They
are not committed to fostering my creative efforts because I don't work for them. What they are committed to is
for them. What they are committed to is finding creators to promote their game.
so they get more players. There's no
need to lie to me. There's no need to oversell it. You're not committed to my
oversell it. You're not committed to my growth. We might work together two,
growth. We might work together two, three, four times and then you will find another creator and pay them instead. If
I took them up on this, and when I use the phrase to take someone up on something, it means they've offered you something and you agree, you say yes.
So, if I took them up on this offer and said, "That sounds fantastic. You're
committed to fostering my creative efforts." Okay, I have a question. I
efforts." Okay, I have a question. I
want to know how I can get more viewers.
Please guide me. What training can you send me on so that I can have more viewers on my channel?
They're going to say, "Oh, that's not our responsibility. You know, you don't
our responsibility. You know, you don't work for us. So, why write this in the email then? Why allow AI to write
email then? Why allow AI to write something like this? You're not
committed to me just as I am not committed to you. You're trying to create a relationship.
Thank you for reviewing this opportunity. We are eager to explore the
opportunity. We are eager to explore the potential for collaboration and to create something truly inspiring together with your unique perspective.
Blah blah blah. Very similar to what they said here. And of course, they're going to say they are eager to explore.
What they mean is, "We want you to create a good video that gets us lots more players and makes us lots of money." with gratitude and best
wishes, the war game team. So again,
some fantastic vocabulary in there, unique aspects, potential collaborations, answer any inquiries, thrilled to
engage. So, do please do take some of
engage. So, do please do take some of this vocabulary and write it down and use it in your emails. But just make sure you're using it in a way you would
actually use it, not in a way that AI is using it. Because tell me honestly in
using it. Because tell me honestly in the comments if you got this email, first of all, would you know what they were asking you to do? And second of all, would you feel that this was
written by a human? And would you feel inclined to reply to this email? Because
I can tell you I certainly did not. I
ignored the first email because it was so ridiculous. Then they sent this
so ridiculous. Then they sent this second email and I felt okay, they've they've tried to change how they're speaking. They've tried to make it
speaking. They've tried to make it clearer, but it's very obvious it's still AI. So, I'm going to read you my
still AI. So, I'm going to read you my response and I hope you don't think badly of me. I was quite rude. Well, no,
I wasn't rude. I was still professional, but I was just direct.
Hi, War Game. I am a little confused by what you are asking me. First of all, your email does not explain what War Game is or how it relates to my content.
I am guessing the name War Game. It's
not its real name, but it was something similar. I'm guessing from the name War
similar. I'm guessing from the name War Game, it is some sort of roleplay game, which if that is the case, leads to my second point of confusion.
How exactly does a role-play game, presumably about war, relate to English language teaching? Have you seen my
language teaching? Have you seen my content? Do you have any idea how I
content? Do you have any idea how I could link the two? If so, I am open to ideas. This I put in there because if I
ideas. This I put in there because if I just left it as, do you have any idea how I could link the two? It sounds
quite rude. It sounds quite blunt to the point. Whereas if so I am open to ideas
point. Whereas if so I am open to ideas is my way of saying feel free to tell me if you have ideas how English teaching
and a game about war relate. I'm open
I'm open to it. It just makes it sound a bit more polite even though it's quite clear that it's not very polite. Then I
said, "I would like to ask that you do not use AI to respond to this email as between the over complicated language, complex sentences, and indepth descriptions about nothing in
particular, I actually have no idea what you are asking me to do. If you could provide some clarity, that would be great. Thank you, Catherine.
great. Thank you, Catherine.
Let me know down below how you would feel reading this email from me." I
think it's very clear that I'm not I'm not that impressed. Um, and maybe I could have been more polite, but I receive these kinds of emails all the
time and it's so annoying and it wastes my time reading them because yes, I could just delete them. But sometimes
they are genuine sponsors.
So, I waste time reading them and then if I think, okay, they could be genuine, I have to respond to them. That's a
waste of my time as well. And it's
really not clear what they're asking me to do. Okay. It's clear that they want
to do. Okay. It's clear that they want to collaborate with me about this game.
Yes. But in the first email, they were talking about new updates and a new system. And in the second email, they
system. And in the second email, they didn't mention that at all. So, am I just promoting a game or am I promoting a new update? They haven't talked about
if I would be paid for this. They
haven't talked about if I would get a free trial. I mean, I'm never I'm not
free trial. I mean, I'm never I'm not the kind of person to play a roleplay war game anyway. I think each to their own. If you like that, that's for you.
own. If you like that, that's for you.
It's not for me. But imagine this was a game, an English language game, okay?
So, I could promote it. I probably still would respond to the email like this because if you want me to promote your product, I need to know that you've
actually put effort into your email and that you've thought about how I could promote your product and that you've thought about how much money you will pay me to do so and that you've thought
about the amount of seconds. I'll give
you another example. I had um someone recently ask me to promote an AI software and I'm still talking with them. I'm I'm interested, but I've asked
them. I'm I'm interested, but I've asked them to clarify how it relates to language learning.
And the first email they sent me, it had bullet points of how long the sponsorship needed to be, 60 seconds.
They asked me how much I would charge for a 60-second sponsorship.
They asked me uh oh to send a screenshot of my YouTube so they can see how many subscribers I have. So it was much more we want to
have. So it was much more we want to find out if we work together well here.
Whereas this email is let's just send out 300 emails and see who responds.
It's very clear that they don't care about who they're contacting. So in that case I'm not interested in working with you.
That's my own opinion. Some people might respond. Some people might think, okay,
respond. Some people might think, okay, maybe their first language is in English, so they used AI to help them.
But if you're contacting English people, Englisheaking people, you should have some understanding of how to sell your product surely. And
there are people that are working so hard to improve their English so they can write professional emails.
So, why should I spend my time reading your AI written email when I have students that are paying for my time to learn how to write properly properly
written emails, professional emails?
Okay, I know I complained a lot in that video and I'm sorry. I just I thought it was a very good example of how AI is not
always a good way to contact someone.
You should always proofread. You should
always check what you've written. That's
what proofread means is check what you've written. You shouldn't use
you've written. You shouldn't use vocabulary that you don't know 100% because you end up repeating the same thing again and again. And yes, you can
use it as a tool. Absolutely. But please
use it sensibly and please read what you are sending to people, especially if you're trying to create a new relationship.
Let's end on a positive, shall we? What
can we say that's positive about this?
Okay, there were some fantastic vocabulary, fantastic phrases in those emails. So, as I said, take the words,
emails. So, as I said, take the words, take the phrases that you want to use in your daily English. I know this was a bit more advanced. So, another positive
is you practiced your advanced English listening skills. And even though it
listening skills. And even though it might not look like it, I did have fun making this video. I like this kind of thing. I like thinking about how I would
thing. I like thinking about how I would have said something differently or finding mistakes. And if they had spent
finding mistakes. And if they had spent time actually writing it, I would never do this. I'm not that kind of person. If
do this. I'm not that kind of person. If
I know you've put effort in, I would never pull up every mistake you've made because that's taken you a lot of time and effort. I love reading books and if
and effort. I love reading books and if I don't enjoy a book, I will never leave a bad review because the amount of effort that that person has put into
writing that book. Even though I didn't enjoy it, they still put effort in.
Whereas, if it was written with AI, I might pull it apart. So, anyway, this is my anti-AII video. No, I know you're intelligent people. I know you have
intelligent people. I know you have critical thinking skills. AI is
fantastic, but we should not rely on it.
So, let me know down below what you thought of this video, what you thought of the emails, and I will see you maybe not next week because it will be
Christmas and New Year, but definitely in January. I'll definitely see you in
in January. I'll definitely see you in January. So, enjoy the end of your year.
