trying to escape something you cannot see is difficult and it is impossible to live without air pollution in most urban areas with that in mind let's take a look at
how air pollution affects us and how we can manage our lives with it the effects of air pollution the effects of breathing in polluted air are said to be akin to smoking
cigarettes regularly it is believed to be even more dangerous than consuming excess salt the microscopic pollutants in the air are difficult to avoid and
can easily get inside the body to affect the circulatory and respiratory systems this can lead to possible damage to the heart lungs and brain however
it is the lungs that are obviously at most risk the comparison with smoking is apt as air pollution can exacerbate existing conditions such as asthma and can cause other lung conditions to
develop the conditions usually caused by air pollution include 1.
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease copd 2. ischemic heart disease stroke and 3
2. ischemic heart disease stroke and 3 lung cancer it is especially harmful to younger children as their respiratory system is still developing
they might face acute lower respiratory infections regularly however it's not just booming commercial centers where you might be exposed to air pollution household air pollution is a major
concern as well especially in middle to lower income areas they often do not have access to clean fuels and efficient technology increasing their exposure to toxic air
most of the deaths caused by air pollution take place in lower income countries as they lack a strong health care system however no matter where you live it is important to protect yourself
against air pollution let's see how to do that prevention and treatment the first thing you need to do is to check the air quality before going out daily
you should wear a mask or take other precautions according to that some ways of protecting yourself against air pollution are one don't drive during rush hour
two take a bike to work if possible or use public transport three compost or recycle your waste don't burn it
four drive electric vehicles five use clean energy to cook six get your electricity through renewable means if possible and save it by turning
off lights and appliances when not in use treatment for air pollution depends on the extent of the symptoms you face in serious cases you might need
