Hey everyone, this is Faze and welcome to my channel. Apple finally just announced their all-new entry-level budget MacBook, [music] the MacBook Neo.

Now, this Mac has been rumored for quite a few years now and it's finally here and it honestly looks pretty nice. But a

question that I'm getting from a lot of you guys is that now that this 599 or $499 uh MacBook Neo, I should say, if you're on an education discount, is this a threat to the iPad? Because if you've

been subscribed to my channel for a while, then you probably know how big of a fan I am of the iPad and its great price points that they come in. And I

think it's great for students. I think

it's great for most people who want a computing device that's also very versatile. But now that the MacBook Neo

versatile. But now that the MacBook Neo is here, it is, I think, going to be a threat. But before we dive into that

threat. But before we dive into that discussion of how the MacBook Neo, you know, goes against the iPad, first let's check out everything that's new with the MacBook Neo and what the specs are. So,

I'm on Apple's website right now, and as you can see, this is their MacBook Neo.

It looks really nice. They've got this really cool font going on as well.

Hello, Neo. Hello. Um, looks very nice and bright. I really like this yellow

and bright. I really like this yellow color that they're showing. Not for me personally. I think it's a little too

personally. I think it's a little too loud. I I like something more simple,

loud. I I like something more simple, but this is great that Apple is adding some fun colors because even if you look at the MacBook Air, you know, it's kind of like muted colors, right? So, this is

nice. So, let's just scroll.

nice. So, let's just scroll.

So, looks like you are getting four colors. You're getting silver, blush,

colors. You're getting silver, blush, citrus, and indigo. So, they look pretty nice. We'll look at all the colors in a

nice. We'll look at all the colors in a second. Uh, fast for all your everyday

second. Uh, fast for all your everyday tasks and up to 16 hours of battery life to go go. And they're showing this in a classroom, which I think this Mac is suited for students, but we'll talk

about that more in a second as well. You

get a 13-in liquid retina display. I

think rumors were originally suggesting a 12in display, but it's good to know it's 13 inch. Um, you get AI features, which is on every Mac. I don't know why they even market that. Magically pairs

with your iPhone. So, now they're just basically going over Mac OS and all the features that you get within the Apple ecosystem. They're really trying to sell

ecosystem. They're really trying to sell you hard on the ecosystem and privacy and free software updates. Because I

think what Apple's trying to do with this MacBook is that they're trying to get people or the customer journey started early. So, for example, if

started early. So, for example, if someone is going into college, right, that's when most people get their Mac because in high school a Mac is kind of expensive, right? Like you're going to

expensive, right? Like you're going to spend an upwards of $1,000 if you want a MacBook. So, I think a lot of parents

MacBook. So, I think a lot of parents are more likely to spend, you know, $500 or so on a MacBook versus $1,000 for a high school student or even someone in middle school, right? because there's so

many people using Chromebooks and cheap Windows computers. I think this is going

Windows computers. I think this is going to be great for the average, you know, new person starting off on their MacBook journey. So, let's keep scrolling. Here

journey. So, let's keep scrolling. Here

are the four colors. I love that first Mac. The colors do pop quite a bit. So,

Mac. The colors do pop quite a bit. So,

I am liking it.

Take a closer look. All right. So, here

are the four colors. Your silver, which is I think what I would probably go for.

Then you've got blush. You've got

citrus. Um, and then you've got indigo.

Then you've got durable design. MacBook

Neo is made with a durable recycled aluminum enclosure that helps it reach 60% recycled content by weight, the most ever in any Apple product. You get a uh

13-inch liquid retina display with 500 nits of brightness, keyboard, and trackpad. You get a large multi-touch

trackpad. You get a large multi-touch trackpad, a keyboard. Uh, looks like you're not getting the a backlit keyboard. You're getting Touch ID. I

keyboard. You're getting Touch ID. I

believe Touch ID is only available for certain models, but we'll get to that in a second. Camera, 1080p FaceTime HD

a second. Camera, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, mics and speakers, two side firing speakers, deliver immersive sound, connectivity. You get two USBC

sound, connectivity. You get two USBC ports. I'm glad Apple is not making the

ports. I'm glad Apple is not making the same mistake they previously did with that 12-in MacBook that they released quite a while back. I think back in like 2014 or so, um, because that only had

one micro USB and a lot of people complained about that. So, I'm glad that you're getting both a headphone jack and two USBC ports. Now, this is where things kind of get interesting when it

comes to performance. You see, even iPads now have a M series chip, right?

Or most of the iPads, I should say. The

new iPad Air that just got announced has an M4 series chip. The new iPad Pro right now is on a M5 series chip. It's

kind of interesting to know how iPads are slowly getting M series chips, which were always based on Macs, right? Every

Mac is a M seriesbased Mac. And for the first time ever, the Mac is kind of going backwards. It's kind of going and

going backwards. It's kind of going and saying, "Hey, we're going to bring an iPhone chip, the A18 Pro chip, and we're bringing it to the Mac. So, not that the A18 Pro chip is any slouch. I think it's

great for just basic tasks. But once

again, this is a very basic machine for basic tasks, right? So, I think the A18 Pro Chip will definitely handle everything.

And once again, what Apple's really promoting here is for answering emails, video calls, browsing the web, you know, updating schedules, sharing photos, making to-do lists, like this is clearly

aimed for students. If you look at their marketing overall, this is what it is sounding like. Once again, if you're

sounding like. Once again, if you're cramming for finals, using Apple Intelligence, summarizing class notes, grading presentations, very aimed for students. All right, let's keep

students. All right, let's keep scrolling. You get up to 16 hours of

scrolling. You get up to 16 hours of battery life, which I think is fantastic. Once again, showing younger

fantastic. Once again, showing younger audiences, right, using this machine from early morning classes to late night browsing. You get 3.6 million pixels for

browsing. You get 3.6 million pixels for incredible resolution, supports for 1 billion colors, and 500 nits of brightness. So, the display is not the

brightness. So, the display is not the greatest display on a Mac, but for who this is meant for, I think it's great.

Clearly not a prouser. So, now let's go into pre-order and look at pricing.

So once again, it's silver, blush, citrus, and indigo. And here's the thing, there's two options that you can

go for. A 256 GB version, which is 599.

go for. A 256 GB version, which is 599.

But if you upgrade to 512 GB, you also get Touch ID with it. So for the 256, you don't get Touch ID. For the 512, you do get Touch ID. And that's pretty much

it. Now, one more thing I do want to

it. Now, one more thing I do want to note is that if you are a student and if you buy the MacBook Neo from the education store, then it'll be $4.99.

So, for $4.99, this machine is a steal.

I mean, there's cheap plastic computers out there that are Windowsbased, Chromebooks that are just a few hundred bucks, I would rather spend a little more and spend $4.99 and get this than

one of those cheap computers. So, I

think Apple is really going to uh take over this market of Chromebooks and Windows or cheap Window PCs, I should say. All right, so this basically wraps

say. All right, so this basically wraps up everything about this new MacBook Neo. But now, let's come back to the

Neo. But now, let's come back to the iPad for a second because the number one question that people are asking me is that is this MacBook Neo a threat to the

iPad? And in a way, yes, but at the same

iPad? And in a way, yes, but at the same time, no, because they are two completely different devices. But first,

let's talk about the price, right?

Because if you look at the education price at $4.99, that's a great price because you're getting a fullblown operating system, right? You're getting Mac OS, you're

right? You're getting Mac OS, you're getting the full keyboard, trackpad, you don't need to buy an additional accessory. Whereas with an iPad, let's

accessory. Whereas with an iPad, let's say you get the iPad Air, right? That's

$599 and that's with an 11in screen. And

then you have to pay an additional 200 250 bucks to get the Magic Keyboard. So

then when you add that up that that package overall ends up being more expensive than this MacBook Neo. And if

you want to go for the 13-inch iPad Air, which is the same screen size as the MacBook Neo, then that's $7.99. And once

again, you have to add in another few hundred bucks for the Magic Keyboard. So

then you're looking at almost $1,000 range. Whereas with the MacBook Neo,

range. Whereas with the MacBook Neo, you're getting a full-blown computer right out of the box running Mac OS for just $500. So, in a way, for most

just $500. So, in a way, for most students and people who want a full desktop class experience, I do recommend the MacBook Neo because I do think that

it that is a better device for that user. However, when it comes to

user. However, when it comes to versatility, nothing beats the iPad. I

still believe that the multi-touchscreen display of the iPad is absolutely beautiful and it's great for reading books. It's great for presentations,

books. It's great for presentations, watching multimedia stuff, but and if you want to get work done, you just attach it to a keyboard. Now, it doesn't even have to be Apple's Magic Keyboard, which is a few hundred bucks. I've done

a full review on my channel of ESR's keyboard, which I think is absolutely beautiful. It's detachable, and it's

beautiful. It's detachable, and it's only like 50 60 bucks, and you get, I think, in my opinion, a better experience. And I have that keyboard

experience. And I have that keyboard linked in the description below. So, if

you were to get an iPad, and let's not even talk about the iPad. Let's say you go for the A16 iPad, right, which has an 11in display, and that is $3.49. And I

believe in most places like Amazon, you can get that for $299. So, for 300 bucks and a $50, $60 Magic Keyboard and an Apple Pencil, which is another 70 80

bucks uh for the A16 iPad. I think

that's a better purchase in my opinion for someone who wants a computer, but also versatility. they can just take it

also versatility. they can just take it out of the keyboard and use it as an A-raider as a you know Netflix consumption device great for social media and stuff like that right so it really comes down to what the user wants

but I will say I do see the appeal of this MacBook Neo and I do think that it's going to eat into a lot of the sales of the iPad because what once again if you want to use the iPad as a

full-blown computer you need the additional accessories whereas with the MacBook Neo everything comes out of the box with the large trackpad a keyboard and it's a once again running Mac OS.

You don't get any of the limitations that iPad OS brings. Even though I'm an iPad only user, I will do a full review on the MacBook Neo and give you my full thoughts on it. So stay tuned to my

channel for the unboxing, for the reviews, some amazing great content coming centered around the MacBook Neo and how it compares with the [music] iPads. Now, at the same time, I want to

iPads. Now, at the same time, I want to know your thoughts. What do you think about this MacBook Neo? Do you think it's great? Do you think it's not that

it's great? Do you think it's not that great? Do you think it is a threat to

great? Do you think it is a threat to the iPad or it isn't? Whatever thoughts
