Here's our 200-galon uh spray rig. We

did pick this one up use. Got a smoking deal on it. Works great. Um actually, we got two of them, but uh this is the one we're going to be using today. And uh

we're going to see. This is just a pretty small job. Um we're just testing it out for Skyler. Not testing it out, but giving Skyler a nice little slow

introduction to it. He uh just spent a couple days in here getting this small project all strong and taped and finished and

sanded. Um, we have uh going to be a

sanded. Um, we have uh going to be a tongue and groove pine painted pine ceiling. So, we only have the walls in

ceiling. So, we only have the walls in here and then a little bit in there.

But, uh, here's some of Skyler's work.

He is turning out to be a fantastic finisher. Um, just really getting the

finisher. Um, just really getting the hang of it. Kind of a natural almost um, at it. Not sure what the heck is up with

at it. Not sure what the heck is up with that, but uh you're playing Oh, that must have been one of my stapler jams.

Uh playing target practice with a stapler. Um but no, his work looks

stapler. Um but no, his work looks really clean. Um this was a a pretty

really clean. Um this was a a pretty fast in-n-out job. I think he taped and doubled it one day, came back in a second day and um skimmed it. We let it

dry for a weekend. Then he came back in and he sanded it, swept up the floors, uh papered everything off, masked it on

the uh third day, and now we're back on the fourth day to texture it. Um

probably could have textured it on the third day if I had let him, but being it's a new machine, he's never ran one this big, so I wanted to be here when he used the machine for the first time. Um

now here, full honesty, I'm not touching a thing. I did help him. got a little

a thing. I did help him. got a little dust on me. I did help him roll the hose out here and kind of show him how to do that. I pointed out a couple spots of

that. I pointed out a couple spots of touch-up that would have probably been fine if he had not done it, but since we were here and we're not in a hurry, might as well finish it up.

So, I will uh try to film some of this first reactions of him using a a big commercial spray rig again, the American Spray 200galer. Um yeah, so stay tuned

Spray 200galer. Um yeah, so stay tuned for this one. Side note, just want you guys to take a look at how clean he's getting. I mean, no mud all over the

getting. I mean, no mud all over the place. Just really looks like a nice

place. Just really looks like a nice professional finish. The mud boxes or

professional finish. The mud boxes or the electrical boxes are all nice and clean, taped around.

My little baby's getting pretty good at this stuff. I'm starting to get teeyed.

this stuff. I'm starting to get teeyed.

I'm going to have to start picking on his work a little bit more. Uh, now that he's gotten pretty darn good at it, now I got to start poking at him and having fun with some small little things. Other

than that, he's he's getting it, man.

I'm I'm I'm training myself right out of some work here. So, all right, we'll go get this machine on and I'll turn this back on once the machine's up and running and he's about ready to start

making it squeal.

All right, everything seems to be going pretty good.

A little mess in there is from me, not from Skyler.

and he's just fine-tuning it and kind of getting it where we we did a little test run earlier.

And uh so we're putting the hydraulic the hydraulic pump um on about uh 3 and 1/2 on the hydraulics. The mixer is it's not running right now. We already mixed

it all up. I've got it in in the thing, but it's all turned off right now. So

turn off.

Yeah, hose is off. Machine's off. Pump's

off.

And go ahead and turn the air on and then lock it back.

Turn the air on and lock it back with the zip tie.

So once it's locked back, so put the zip tie over the trigger and you won't have to It'll never move again.

I thought we didn't want the thing armed with No, turn that off. Is that should be off. Okay. So lock the trigger back with

off. Okay. So lock the trigger back with the zip tie.

There you go. Now, put the B put the box out here.

Just get it out of your way for now. And

then get yourself in the position you want to hit that thing to start with.

And then turn it on. And it's going to start building up. It's going to start going slow and it's going to start ramping up. So when you turn it on, you

ramping up. So when you turn it on, you you need to be moving already. Now it

may not be you might have to go back over that area again, but when you turn that on, you want to be moving. And then

you want to stay moving until you turn it off or it's aimed at the box. So get

yourself in a good position. Maybe you

do the ceiling this time or something and see what happens.

It'll take a second or two for that pressure to build up, but you know, just get moving as soon as you hit that button.

[Music] I'm hiding behind the I think it's going a little bit, but we'll wait and see what this one

looks like and see how it how it turns out.

At least this hose doesn't kink on you, right? like that.

right? like that.

At least the hose doesn't kink on you like the like the uh whatever the get Graco one does.

That is very true.

Heat.

Heat.

You do that right wall. Switch your

hands up. So your gun is on your left hand all the way close to the other wall. That make sense?

wall. That make sense?

Remember, you're spraying.

You got it.

Come all the way out with it and wrap it around.

There you go.

Turn the pump off.

[Laughter] You're not You're not supposed to be good at it the first time.

No.

You're doing a good job, though.

I'm glad you're the one cleaning up all this paper tomorrow. That's that's

that's a decent looking texture, dude.

Not bad for It started when I switched to the left, it started sounding different. So,

yeah, I think you bumped the think you bumped the air thing. That's why I tell you it's it's not a good thing to try to adjust your texture with with the air switch. Um, you know, it's a good idea,

switch. Um, you know, it's a good idea, especially if it was more of a permanent one. But

one. But yeah, this thing is so it's so sensitive. Yeah, it'd almost be better if it wasn't so big and it just had a little little knob on it that you could just twist. And maybe that's what

we'll look for is just a better a better knob.

Um, so yeah, that's that got that got a little bit ugly.

Yep.

That's a tomorrow problem.

If you're priming it tomorrow, so you can come in and and sand some stuff down, get out a can, get out a hopper, touch some stuff up, put a fan on it, then prime it. So,

should I just leave that?

Yeah, I would leave it. Yeah, I would texture around it just like you normally would. So, finish up your ceiling. Yeah.

would. So, finish up your ceiling. Yeah.

Um, and then uh come on out here and do the big room. And again, tomorrow you can always do some repair work. Yeah,

it's it's these little jobs are hard to do with these big machines, but you'll get it. You're doing good. So,

get it. You're doing good. So,

especially picking up for the first time. I I told you they're they're fast.

time. I I told you they're they're fast.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah. and you will. So, the key is is you. All right. So, what I have found

you. All right. So, what I have found the key is when you're doing this is a lot of experience, obviously, a lot of mess ups. Um, but all this stuff is

mess ups. Um, but all this stuff is repairable, but is plotting out what you're doing right now, where you're going next, and what you're going next, and making sure that you really have a

good plan for where this gun is going to be aimed at um after you're done doing what you're doing. So, making sure and that that will become second nature.

Skyler, I I tell you, another five or six of these houses, Skyler will be running this thing like anybody else has done it. Um, even, you know, just dozens

done it. Um, even, you know, just dozens and dozens or hundreds of houses, he'll have it picked up. It's not too crazy hard. Uh, especially if you have someone

hard. Uh, especially if you have someone showing you some tips.

All right, Silas got this. I'm going to go check the machine outside. I'm going

to uh take my shoes off because I don't want to get this nice waterproof floor, all drywall, muddy.

Just going to check our the level of texture we have left in it. Such a small job. We only mixed up four boxes. We

job. We only mixed up four boxes. We

probably only needed about three boxes, but the 165 ft of hose It takes some mud just to get it built up. Oh, I did not realize he just

up. Oh, I did not realize he just running the beers.

So, that is not something we have to do.

That's going to probably change his texture a little bit.

Maybe not. We'll see.

All right. So, he's got plenty of mud in there.

All right. So, in conclusion, what do you think, Skyler?

I think it's sweet. It's definitely a lot faster.

Yeah, like you said, it's a matter of pre-planning out your your next move, your your path. So,

yeah, cuz it doesn't want to turn off.

Blow mud at the floor for 30 seconds.

And 30 seconds goes by fast when you're when you're stuck like, oh crap, now where do I put point this thing at? So,

you can really uh make a big mess. Um,

now you see why I compared everything to it is because the speed. I mean, if if you were in here and say you had to do it all over again, how long do you think

this 30 sheet remodel would take you to spray with this machine?

This machine?

Five, maybe 10 minutes.

Yeah, five maybe 10 minutes. Yeah,

maybe.

Maybe. It takes longer to unroll the hose and roll the hose up and clean it and put it all away. That's a ticket for us anyways. All right, I'm going to wrap

us anyways. All right, I'm going to wrap this I'm going to go turn that thing off and uh Skyler's going to get to cleaning this hose up and wrapping it up and tomorrow he'll be back to prime it and do a little bit of touch-up here and

there. We have this patch right here,

there. We have this patch right here, Skyler. You can It's just right on the

Skyler. You can It's just right on the other side of this doorway. So, it's

right here in that ceiling. And there

used to be an old window right here. Uh

so, that needs to get patched up as well. Okay. Talk to you later. All

well. Okay. Talk to you later. All

right. All righty. See you, Skyler.

Okay. Let me take this thing out here.

See if I can not follow my butt.

So, when you're shutting them down, make sure they're zeroed out on the hydraulics.

[Applause] I like to idle them down.

[Applause] Turn them down. Then I release the air pressure.

Let it drain out.

There it is.

Till next time, guys.
