Summary

## Key takeaways - **60,000 BTUs Overkill for Pizza**: I cranked all four burners on high to grill a pizza but realized the 60,000 BTUs was way more than needed, so I had the outside burners up to high and the middle on low for a perfect crispy crust and browned toppings. [00:22], [00:32] - **Flame Tamers Crush Burger Flare-Ups**: I grilled juicy burgers expecting flare-ups from pooled grease dumped onto flames, but the stainless steel flame tamers handled it perfectly with no ongoing issues, unlike other grills where flare-ups are a big challenge. [01:05], [01:28] - **Sear Burner Delivers Edge-to-Edge Crust**: This grill has a rare sear burner that gets an amazing sear; on the second flip of a steak, it produced an even edge crust way better than regular grill lines for side-to-side flavor. [02:21], [02:54] - **513 Sq In Fits 20 Burgers**: The main cooking surface is about 513 square inches where you could fit about 20 standard burgers without too much trouble, ideal for cookouts with a bunch of people. [03:15], [03:35] - **Thinner Grates Need Burner Reliance**: The grill grates are thinner than higher-end models, so for a good sear you rely more on the burners than resident heat in the grates, but the big burners overcome that effectively. [03:47], [04:09] - **LED Knobs and Solid No-Shimmy Build**: LED lights in the knobs turn on with a button for night grilling; the grill is lighter yet solid with no shimmy or twist when pushed side to side like cheap grills, and the thick lid holds heat. [Music] I've been looking for a good mid-range gas grill and Monument grills reached out to me and offered me this four burner gas grill to try out and review I could rattle off a lot of the specs but

I thought it'd be better if I did a bunch of different Cooks over a wide range of cooking temperatures to show you how it works the first thing that I wanted to do is do a high temperature cook and so I cranked all four burners

on high to be able to grill up a pizza but then I realized that the 60 000 BTUs was way more than I needed in order to be able to hit those temperatures so what I did instead is I had the outside

burners up to high the middle burner is down to low and that gave me a perfect crispy crust on the bottom as well as Browning the toppings on top and those four burners make it really easy to have different foods cooking at different

temperatures and different cooking zones for example I could have one side on high and another side down low or I could set it up for indirect cooking and turn these ones off all together for some different cooks that can be really

useful flare-ups can be a challenge with any Grill and so I wanted to grill up some Juicy Burgers just to see how that would hand handle it this has some Stainless Steel Flame Tamers which should help with any of the flare-ups I

expect a little bit of flare-ups when I flip the burgers over because there's a little bit of pooled grease on top and that gets dumped over onto the Flames but as soon as that died down it was cooking absolutely perfectly and you didn't have to worry about flare-ups

I've worked with other grilles where flare-ups are a pretty big challenge but it seems to be something that they've nailed on this Grill now one of the things I really like is the warming rack that's up on top it's about the right

size it doesn't take up too much room on top so that way it gets in the way but it's also big enough that way I can put food here cook things down on the bottom and then leave it up there just to stay warm until all the food is ready and I

can take it inside and next I cooked up some chicken breasts because they require just a little bit more finesse if you cook them too hot you're going to burn them on the outside and they're going to be raw in the middle but you need to cook them hot enough that way

you get a good sear and Char and then dial down the temperature so that way things cook nice and even and you end up with nice juicy breasts this one worked out perfect and it was about as easy to control as any grill that I've ever used

it was very simple to be able to dial into the temperature so that way I could get it just right next up I wanted a sear a steak and normally with a gas grill what I would do is I would turn the burners up on high so that way the

grates would get really hot and then let them do all the work but this Grill has another feature that is not very common in this range and that is it has a sear burner on one of the sides what that

allows you to do is to turn this up on high you can sear a steak or anything else that you want right over the direct infrared burners you can get an amazing Sear and when I cooked up a steak for dinner

tonight I used the sear burner and it came out absolutely amazing after the first minute or two it hadn't quite gotten to a good sear but on the second flip it really got an even edged Edge crust which is way better than just

getting regular Grill lines because you get flavor from side to side that is the way to make a good steak and this makes it really easy to do the more common feature on the other side of the grill is a side burner and

that comes to be really convenient because if you wanted to sear a steak say in a cast iron pan or make some sauces or another side dish you can make it right here at the grill while you're cooking your meat and your other items

it's super convenient so that way you're not going inside you can do it all right at the grill this four burner grill is really big and about the right size for someone who likes to invite a bunch of

people over for a cookout manufacturers like to highlight both cooking surfaces but I only like to look the main one since that is where the action happens and this one is about 513 square inches

and I estimate that you could fit about 20 standard Burgers on that surface without too much trouble overall I've been really happy with the way this Grill cooks and it's done well in every single test that I've given it and

that's comparing it to even some higher end grills that I've used as well that said you have to make a few trade-offs in order to be able to get the price down on a mid-range Grill like this one and one of those is that the grill grates are a little bit thinner than

some of the higher end models that means that when you're going to cook a Sear you have to rely more on the burners than you do on the resident heat that's in those grill grates for getting those sear lines but the burners are plenty

big and is able to overcome that so you can still get a good sear directly on this Grill even though the grill grates are just a little bit thinner if you like to grill at night this Grill has a cool feature where it has some LED

lights into the knobs and if you want to be able to turn them on you can do it with a push of a button then you can see exactly what you're doing and the grill itself is just a little bit lighter than a lot of the other grilles that I've used but that doesn't

mean that it's cheaply made it's still very solid and when I lift the lid it feels like there's quite a bit of heft to it one of the other tests that I like to do is push from side to side on a gas grill and a lot of the really cheap low

end grilles will do a shimmy and a shake or they're going to twist when you do that but this one absolutely holds together and it's pretty solid not only that but the lid is thick enough that it's able to hold in the heat so that way you can still get to the high

temperatures that you want to cook at there's one feature about this gas grill that I didn't think I would use and that is this glass window it allows you to look in and to be able to see how your food is cooking of course the old adage

is true if you're looking you're not cooking but it's not true with this Grill because you can still see your food without opening the lid and letting the heat out the only time will tell if this will remain clear or you have to do

a lot of cleaning in order to be able to keep it that way but we'll have to wait and see I'm Ryan from the grill top experience helping you cook with fire like a pro
