Uh, so you're a Christian. You're

Catholic. Yes.

>> Okay. I noticed you had a Christian cross emoji in your Instagram bio. Uh,

and you go to like church every Sunday.

>> Um, no, but I want to.

>> Okay. But you are you do consider yourself a Christian. You believe in God. You're a Catholic.

God. You're a Catholic.

>> Okay. Uh, you have a septum piercing.

>> Yeah.

>> Okay. That's not at all related to that, but I just noticed that.

>> Putting that in my notes there. Maybe

we'll talk about that. Um, a couple things here. So, and it relates to your

things here. So, and it relates to your prompt. Um h well I I think really quick

prompt. Um h well I I think really quick the first thing I noticed on your Instagram uh well h so you're uh you're well you're you're

kind of asexual right?

>> Yeah.

>> Like but you would date women.

>> Um yeah.

>> So look I'm not a Catholic. Can you tell me uh from a Catholic perspective, from a Christian perspective, uh is that allowed >> um to date women?

>> Love is love, right?

>> Wait, it's Wait, what? Love is love, right?

>> For Christians.

>> For anybody like you can love anybody.

>> You're supposed to love your neighbor.

So, like, what are you talking about?

>> What if your neighbors like >> it doesn't matter? You're supposed to love everybody. You're supposed to love

love everybody. You're supposed to love everybody the way Christ does. That's

what a [clears throat] real Christian is.

>> Yeah. I'm not sure what that has to do with the discussion at hand, but um Okay, Alina, you had something.

>> Doesn't it go against Christianity to be in a samesex relationship?

>> Um I'm not really sure about that. It

could be.

>> Well, let's if it was, what what would you uh what would go first for you? what

would be superseding uh what the Bible tells you, what God tells you, what the Catholic faith faith tells you, or your own

uh human mortal desires.

>> Um I'm not sure what I would do.

>> Well, we're asking you.

>> Oh. Um

it depends like on the situation.

>> What do you mean it depends on the situation? Uh, like

situation? Uh, like I don't I I really don't know how to explain it. Like

explain it. Like I don't know.

>> What do you mean you don't?

>> Like what are what are some situations in which you would choose your human instinct over God's word?

>> Like what are some examples of of those?

>> Like what would his word be though? Like

it just depends on the context. Well,

like anything that's biblical, anything that's uh suggested to do by a priest or a pastor.

>> Oh. Um, probably follow God's word, >> right?

So, what what would you do in a situation where you're conflicted? Uh,

should I follow God's word or should I follow my human nature?

>> Follow God's word.

>> Uh, okay. Interesting. Um, I also noticed on your Instagram you do uh you got some cheek you got cheeks out >> on your Instagram.

>> Yeah.

>> Uh like here are my cheeks type pictures.

>> Yeah. Well, that was at a concert so it's allowed.

>> It It's >> Wait. It's allowed at a concert.

>> Wait. It's allowed at a concert.

>> Yes.

>> You can wear anything at a concert.

>> It's You should keep it a little appropriate.

>> Like what what is appropriate? What's

appropriate attire? Um

whatever like the artist wears like >> are they Christian?

>> I have no idea.

>> So, so if the artist was wearing an anti- good >> statement on that, >> right? So, then your argument just goes

>> right? So, then your argument just goes completely out the door. If the artist wears it, it's okay for me to wear it.

Well, >> not necessarily then, >> right?

>> Yeah. Um, look, I don't really give a [ __ ] I just notice a bit of a conflict.

I think when it comes to Christians and Catholics seem to be the more serious branch, one of the more serious branches of Christianity. Um, I think there is a

of Christianity. Um, I think there is a call to modesty and I think it's a bit conflicting to be look again, I I don't give a [ __ ] but when it's, for example,

if somebody eats meat, I don't care. I

eat meat. I don't care. But if somebody tells me they're vegan or vegetarian and I see them eating a hot dog or a hamburger, I have no problem with people eating hot dogs and hamburgers. But if

you're a vegan or vegetarian eating a hot dog and hamburger, I'm like, "Wait, hold on. That's contradictory."

hold on. That's contradictory."

So, um, how do you reconcile that? um

that you should follow like the rules of what you want to be like how you label yourself and not like do something against it.

>> How you label yourself? How how do you label yourself >> like of like labeling like how like sexuality religion?

>> Well, I remember you saying you didn't like labels.

So, how how does that make sense?

Because you said it's depends on how you label yourself, but it doesn't seem like you like to label yourself.

>> Yes.

I mean, I just I'm not sure.

>> You're not You're not sure? Well, how

about this? Um,

if you were uh if I were to present to you a Bible verse that instructed uh Christians to dress modestly, knowing this, perhaps you didn't know it

in the past, would you make a commitment here on the Whatever podcast to adhere to biblical scripture, Christian doctrine, and no longer dress in an

immodest way? Um,

immodest way? Um, I mean, I'm sure like God wouldn't really mind how what you wear as long as you like

>> love him and like follow certain rules.

>> God God wouldn't mind what you wear.

>> What about when you go to church? Like

if you go church in like underwear, like God wouldn't mind that.

>> Wait, what?

>> If you go to church in underwear, God wouldn't mind that.

>> Uh, I mean, you shouldn't dress like that there. You should wear modest

that there. You should wear modest clothes at >> So, what about your everyday life? You

shouldn't do the same thing in your everyday life. You shouldn't dress

everyday life. You shouldn't dress modestly.

>> Um, well, it's up to you. It's your life and it's however you want to run it.

>> I mean, every day that I dress modestly, I feel much better about myself when I'm walking down the street because I don't have weirdo men staring at me provocatively because I'm showing everything, you know? Right?

know? Right?

>> I'd rather walk down the street, everything is concealed opposed to have some me some weirdo staring at me in lust. Right?

>> You know, being a Christian, we're supposed to observe that within ourselves and give that image out to other people. Monkey see, monkey do.

other people. Monkey see, monkey do.

Yeah.

>> So, uh, one Timothy 2:9, uh, women adorn themselves in modest apparel.

Uh [clears throat] so bit conflicting.

>> Yeah.

>> Okay. So given that well I guess let me ask you this. Um do

you believe the Bible is the inspired word of God?

>> Um yeah maybe. No. No.

yeah maybe. No. No.

>> Is it?

>> Because it wasn't written by him. Was

it?

>> Hold on. Okay. 2 Timothy 3:16. Uh

scripture is God breathed.

So rejecting clear commands is disagreement with God. Okay. Do you

disagree with God?

>> Uh no.

>> Okay.

So, okay. Would you are you going to

okay. Would you are you going to continue to dress him modestly?

>> Um I mean it's my life. if I can do what I want.

>> Okay, hold on. John 14:15.

>> There you go.

>> If you love if you love me, keep my commandments.

>> Yeah.

>> Okay, so Jesus affirmed scripture as binding.

So do you think that um do you think that God's word, so what's in the Bible, scripture, do you think it's not authoritative?

>> Um no, >> it's not authoritative.

>> No.

Um, >> so what is the point of the what is the point of the Bible for Christians if it's not authoritative? What's the point of it?

>> If you don't live by the word, what are you living by yourself? Your own

understanding. Because I live by the word and God's understanding that he's given through me. You know, I don't go on my own understanding.

I don't say, "Oh, this is okay, but this is okay. And this is okay, but that's

is okay. And this is okay, but that's okay, too. But that's wrong. But then

okay, too. But that's wrong. But then

that's okay. Like you got to make up your mind in some area or another, baby girl.

>> Right.

>> You really got to understand you're either living for Christ or you're living for yourself.

>> Right. Well, if you think about it, I still have a lot of time to figure it out. I'm still young.

out. I'm still young.

>> You don't though. Tomorrow you could die. We could all die tomorrow. That's

die. We could all die tomorrow. That's

true.

>> Tomorrow the He could come back and take us all back to heaven.

>> He could take us all back tomorrow. He

could take us back right now. and you

having this misunderstanding of what he really is. That's your problem. That's

really is. That's your problem. That's

not his. That's your problem. We all

want you to go to heaven. I want you to go to heaven. But we're going to forget you if you don't go >> right.

>> You know what I mean? You have to accept him as your savior. You have to live by the word. You have to really understand

the word. You have to really understand it and take it in. You know, fast and prayer. That's stronger than anything

prayer. That's stronger than anything you can consume in your life. Fasting

and prayer. Maybe you should try it for a few days. Bro,

>> shut the [ __ ] up.

>> I'm glad someone said it.

>> Mary, I'll hands old pratt. Okay. Um.

>> Oh, it's okay. I don't really care if people disagree with my faith because I know where my faith comes from.

>> Okay. I know for me to come here today.

Me.

>> Wait, what? Sorry. What?

>> Well, I mean, if people are going to tell me to shut the [ __ ] up, >> what?

Sorry what?

>> I mean, I pay for myself to be here and people are just telling me to shut the [ __ ] up. I mean, if you guys want me to leave, tell me that. Don't just tell me to shut up. Come on, be a little more respectful.

>> Mary, >> I am so sorry.

>> You need to shut the [ __ ] up, Mary. If

somebody's prattling, I'll tell them to shut the [ __ ] up. How about that?

>> Yes, sir. Um, in any case though, you got to kind of land the plane a little bit. Um, so, okay,

bit. Um, so, okay, >> what >> what's your response?

>> Um, I'll study the Bible more in >> Well, I've just laid it out for you in a pretty coherent way.

>> Yeah.

>> Yeah.

The correct answer is I will stop posting my ass on Instagram. I will

throw away all those clothes. I will

stop going in underwear to concerts. And

that's the answer.

>> I'll do that.

>> Okay. Well, um

>> base W >> cuz look, scripture, it's very explicit that God's word is authoritative binding and it's not negotiable. So when you say, "I'm just doing my thing. God wants

God's fine with me just dressing like a trumpet, blah blah blah," it's like, "No, not really." Um,

uh, you're basically just in defiance and disobedience of scripture, Christ and God. It's like, so what are I mean,

and God. It's like, so what are I mean, why even call yourself a Christian?

>> Uh, because of my beliefs. And

>> what what are your beliefs?

>> Um, that God created us.

>> Uh, okay.

But Muslims also think that, Jews also think that. So what specific what sets

think that. So what specific what sets people uh other religions even believe that? What what sets Christianity apart?

that? What what sets Christianity apart?

>> I mean they all study the same belief.

[snorts] >> Well they're all different traditions.

>> That's the difference >> right? So and actually in for example

>> right? So and actually in for example Islamic tradition uh there's actually much stricter calls to modesty than even in Christianity. But even in

in Christianity. But even in Christianity, whether you're Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, there's calls to uh modesty.

Going to a rap concert with your ass hanging out. I don't know if it's

hanging out. I don't know if it's consistent with Christianity or calling yourself a Christian, >> right?

>> Yeah. Do you want to respond or >> um I'm not sure how to respond to that.

>> Yeah. Yeah. Well, I guess I mean the first thing like something super easy you could do would either to be like make a commitment. You can even do it here right now on the show like oh okay maybe I was I didn't know that. I'm

going to dress differently and then also I'm going to take down like the uh I'm going to archive the thirst trap photos or like the ass out photos on my Instagram.

>> I I'll archive those photos. I've been

meaning to.

>> All right, easy enough. Um,

>> All right, easy enough. Um,
