Borderlands 4 - New Best Build in Game is BROKEN - Curse Bleed Vex is OP - Post Nerf Patch Guide!

By RageGamingVideos

Summary

## Key takeaways - **Curse Vex Build Survives Nerfs, Stronger Than Ever**: Despite recent nerfs, the Curse Vex build remains one of the most powerful in the game, now even stronger with the re-integration of bleed and crit knife mechanics. [00:10], [01:16] - **Crit Knife and Bleed Mechanics Are Still Potent**: While the crit knife's damage has been reduced, it's still a highly effective tool, and bleed is now a viable and powerful addition to the build rather than a cheesy exploit. [00:18], [01:11] - **Amp and Teen Witch Combo Not Essential**: The amp and Teen Witch combo for consistent gun damage is strong but not critical; the curse's damage output far surpasses it, allowing flexibility in build choices. [03:20], [04:05] - **Whiskey Foxtrot with Ripper License is Ideal**: The Whiskey Foxtrot assault rifle with a Ripper License magazine is recommended for its insane fire rate and high damage per bullet, creating a fun and effective playstyle. [08:13], [08:26] - **Playstyle: Boss vs. Mobbing Tactics**: For bosses, utilize Incarnate, Rep Kit, melee, a knife throw, and then fire while mashing Eldritch Blast for ammo restoration. Against regular enemies, brief bursts of fire with bleed are sufficient. [12:31], [13:00]

The only thing I have to say to the big

nerf patch is

>> what nerfs.

Hello, my fellow Vault Hunters and my

fellow Vex players. We've been nerfed.

Infinite bleed is gone. The crit knife

has been brought low, though it's still

really powerful. And various other

shenanigans have been looked at. But the

thing is, who cares? You're already

seeing what's going on in the

background. This, of course, is all post

patch, post quotes nerf footage. And

well, a couple weeks ago, I decided to

sit down and theory craft the most

powerful Vex build, not using anything

that I thought would be nerfed in the

confirmed upcoming nerfs. And guess

what? I was right on the money. Yes. Not

only has that build survived as I hoped

and planned for it doing, it's now

actually stronger because now we can use

bleed because bleed is fixed and it's

not just cheap anymore. And we can use

the crit knife because the crit knife is

fixed and it's not cheap anymore. So,

it's actually even stronger than ever.

And that makes me so happy, warm, and

fuzzy inside. Now, there are a few

things post patch that are definitely

really strong. A couple that may still

not really be intended, but when it

comes to dealing damage with your actual

build, this thing is up there in

contention for best in the game,

especially now in the wake of all the

previous best builds getting kind of

devastated. So, I thought, what else to

do but update you guys on my lovely

curse vex that makes the enemies glow

lovely purple and then every time you

fire, you get a huge extra block of

damage. And to really put that in

perspective, if I empty my clip here

into the head of this target dummy, we

do about 1 and a half million damage.

And then there's some nice bleed ticking

on top because we can use bleed again.

Whereas if I melee first and then do

exactly the same thing, well, the damage

skyrockets up to 2.4 million. That's

quite the gain from doing a single melee

before you fire. Cursed Blade and Extra

Cursed is just clutch and more delicious

than ever. And now that we can work

bleed back into it, it's even better for

just general mob clear because you only

need to fire a couple of bullets. just

let it and then stop firing for every

enemy and then bleed will do the rest.

And even on this Driller site when it

did get to the boss, I kind of totally

mind blanked and forgot to save my

incarnate form for infinite ammo against

the boss and it still died to just do

normal reloads anyway, which I find

absolutely hilarious. This thing is just

smooth to play, strong, and in a

post-patch world, a firm favorite for

just the best build in the game. and I'm

really really happy with it. So, let's

go over everything that was there and

everything that has changed. Before we

get into the nitty-gritty though, this

does use the amp and teen witch combo,

the life steal into your shingles to

consistently grant the 100% gun damage.

And thankfully, that survived the patch,

though I don't think it's that

ridiculously quick nerf it broken. It's

very strong obviously, but I do want to

stress that that isn't adding more

damage than the curse. If I well take

off the amp on my shield using now a

different watts for dinner. If you

remember that I did about 1 and a.5

million by unleashing the full clip.

Well, when I do it now I do about 1.2

million. We're actually getting a huge

amount of damage out of the amp life

steal combo. At least nowhere near

compared to the curse malle. So that's

why I really do love the curse malle

being the star of the show here. And

when we get more skill points, if that

ever does happen across DLC, etc., and

we can finally spec into ranged melee,

so we don't even have to physically

touch the boss, it's just going to be

that much better. In any case, let's go

over it. Starting with Dead Ringer, our

blue tree, you want to put five out of

five into cold iron just to get that 15%

gun damage. There really isn't anything

else here. If you do a lot of mobbing

with this and therefore don't have

incarnate farm up all the time for

infinite ammo, putting three out of

three into idle hands just to make it

feel a little bit smoother, get that

reload speed, and then just two into

cold iron is completely fine. You do

enough damage that you're not going to

miss a few percents of gun damage here.

Then we go five out of five into cursed

blade and one into extra curse for that

massive amp of extra damage every time

we shoot the enemy, which is why this is

such an attack speed focused build. It

also combos beautifully with the

specialization of CQC here for an extra

30% fire rate after applying that melee.

In any case, yeah, very simple on this

one. Then we move on to phase familiar

for a well phase familiar 555 straight

down the middle. Leeching achievement to

get that life steal, that all important

lif steal to feed teen witch into amp

and to feed into blood is power and to

just make you really really hard to

kill. And the reload speed is nice, too.

Then we get five out of five blood

letter. Now, these five points used to

be in Phoenish Invigoration for 30% fire

rate. And actually, against bosses,

because we do so much damage so quickly,

the bleed doesn't get to tick a lot. So,

if you care specifically just about boss

farming, you are actually, ironically,

fine to just take these five points out

of Bloodletter again and put them back

into this attack speed, and you will

kill bosses a little bit smoother if

you're good with your aim during those

10 seconds. In any case, for just

general purpose, blood letter just makes

everything smoother. And then we go down

into material compounds for more kinetic

damage. And now the status effect damage

does get to affect it, which is nice.

Then we want a five out of five here. a

critical hit chance anywhere. Now that

the knife is nerfed and it's 30%, this

takes it to 45, which is really, really

solid for any hit that misses the head/

the weak spot. Then we move on down here

to put five out of five into drink full.

This is a fire rate build, and this is a

lot of fire rate. We grab witchy trigger

finger. This both gives us an infinite

supply of ammo. We never have to reload.

And 45% more gun damage. What is not to

love? Lastly, we put five out of five

engrave vitality. That is just to move

on. It's not really crazy helpful,

though. It's a bit of survivability. And

then we get five out of five into

essence leech for another 20% life steal

during our incarnate, which then

converts into a lot more kinetic damage

during bloodish power, but also into

more shield regen. We don't take

heartpiercer because if you do, the

animation of your Eldrich Blast will be

too slow that you will fire too quickly

and you'll have to reload despite having

witchy trigger finger to refill your

ammo. You need to just leave it like

this so you can maintain that infinite

magazine size. That's that then on your

skill tree. Specialization wise, we want

20 in survivor so we can grab the best

defense for just an extra 30% damage

when shields are full, which of course

they constantly are with all of our

shield life steal. We want riddle you

this for a load of gun damage as we

fire. Stack this up very, very quickly.

An extra 30% fire rate from CQC to combo

with our melee curse. This just amps it

even further. Now we've got bleed back

in. We want contamination just to make

it apply as easily as possible. Though,

if you want the build to play as smooth

as you can, get Now with caffeine

instead, so you can incarnate more

often, and that will make things just

work better over a longer period of time

instead of just a single boss. And

that's kind of where you're at for your

specialization tree. After that, you

just want to pour points into killer

until the diminishing returns aren't

good enough. For the gear, then it's

fairly straightforward. We need

specifically a whiskey fox trot and you

need it to have a ripper license

magazine so you just get that insane

fire rate while still maintaining really

high damage per bullet and that results

in this beauty. You charge up and then

just forever and it's so so much fun.

That said, guys, the template core of

this build, just fire rate, infinite

magazine size, lots of damage, you can

apply to any assault rifle, SMG, any

weapon you like, and it will still do

really well. Even something silly like

Berts bees here still works really well

with the setup because the setup just

powers a good high fire rate gun. This

is just the specific gun I found to be

the best with it, but you could

experiment and use whatever you enjoy

using and you will get good results. But

yeah, a whiskey fox shot with a ripper

license magazine as that will work

nicely into our enhancement. And then we

go to our crit knife nerf down to 30%,

but still obviously amazing. That extra

15% damage taken obviously still

amazing. This thing is great though.

Heads up, if you throw more than one,

you have such fire rate that you might

actually run out of ammo just in the

animation time of throwing knife and

then Eldrich blasting. And that's

something that we will talk about for

your rep kit. Then we want ourselves a

chrome. So you get 30% fire rate or I

guess war paint being specifically the

rep kit in question along with enrage

for 30% damage. This is obviously just a

massive amp for 15 seconds and really

really strong. For our class mod, we

want teen witch and ideally you want

either damage dealt or crit strike

chance. You want ranks in to the green

tree skill for an actual bump in damage.

But more than anything, we just need

that effect to life steal into our

shield to power then our choice of

energy shield which is what's for

dinner. The overshield eater means that

we are just gaining 25% shock damage.

And this doesn't mean any damage we do

in shock is 25% bigger. No, it means any

damage you do is applied again at 25% of

it as shock. So if you do a,000 damage,

you'll gain an extra 250 damage in

shock. It's actually a huge increase.

And that's why just using what's for

dinner, even without amp, is still

incredibly strong. And you don't need to

get a perfect What's for dinner plus

amp. You can use just a normal what's

for dinner, then use a different class

mod like even just this for five more

ranks of bloody and still have a really

really strong build. The amp teen witch

combo is nice but it's not critical.

Just use your best class mod and a

what's for dinner if you can't field

this specific combo. In any case, then

we move on to our enhancement where your

ideal is bullet hose and box magazine

vlad. Box magazine is the best one if

you just have a single enhancement

Vladov and that's really nice. Now I

have good accuracy and shotgun equip

speed here which is absolutely garbage.

This could be a lot stronger if I

actually had like assault rifle damage

or gun damage, crit damage, so on and so

forth. So you might actually have a

better enhancement than me even if it's

just a purple with just box magazine but

three good modifiers on top of that. In

any case then that's where you're at.

And when it comes to our firmware, we

want of course three out of three in

dead eyee for all of that critical

goodness. And then we want an extra 5%

life steal with rubber band man. Sadly,

this lif steal doesn't work with our

skill tree. And I don't think the patch

has fixed that, but it's still nice and

worthwhile because it powers this combo

even better and keeps you alive. If you

don't have this combo and you're using a

different take on this, then you can use

a different two set firmware too. That

then is all there is to say when it

comes to this. A curse blade malle

powered Vex uh that capitalizes on high

fire rate guns now weaving in the

freshly nerfed crit knife and bleed

because they're still very strong and

now no longer cheap or cheesy to use.

So, it just adds to a build instead of

completely warping the build, which is

kind of nice really, as much as nerfs do

suck. And when it comes to how to play

it, it's a very simple sequence for a

boss. You're heading towards the boss.

You want to press your incarnate. You

then want to have your rep kit. You then

want to mle throw a knife in, start

firing, and just mash Eldrich Blast so

you constantly restore your ammo. And

just look at those numbers burn. God

damn. It's just incredible.

Oh yes. And then when you're just facing

regular normal enemies, it's very much

as simple as Okay, he's dead. Okay, he's

dead. All right, he's dead. And then

he's dead. Okay, now he's dead. He's

dead. And the bleed then is what's very

very good for normal enemies cuz you ble

build up such a good amount of bleed by

only holding down the trigger for like

half a second. And you just give every

single enemy a quick little love tap of

your bullet hose and then they will be

done. All the while being immortal

because of our shield setup. And I mean

look at all these overshields on the

floor. It is so so hard to die. That

then is that a little bit of an update,

refresh, reminder, postnerf patch

version of my nerf proof build that

still very much has proven to be nerf

proof while also remaining monstrously

strong. I hope you have enjoyed this.
