I'm in the city of Munster in Germany and I want to give you essential English phrases and vocabulary for tourists. Now

Yeah, we're living here in Munster.

Yeah, sure. What do you do?

I'm here in Munster for like one day Yeah.

and I would like to know something that I should really go and see first.

Oh uh the the the best thing about Munster is that's a very uh historical uh nice city. So you have a lot of churches

nice city. So you have a lot of churches and and that stuff. So I would recommend you to go to the uh center of the city.

Yeah.

Uh there's the dome of of Munster.

Right.

It's pretty uh famous.

Yeah, I think Munster is a typical student city. So you have several

student city. So you have several places you you should visit. We have a lot of churches. Uh there's a church in in the old town, a big one. So that this is quite interesting then you have also

the old town. Old town is also quite interesting because it was not destroyed in the World War II.

Uh So therefore it's really um old and Nice for taking pictures.

Nice for taking pictures [laughter] and you also see some some tourist spots there.

Could you tell me something I should really see here?

Yeah, maybe I think you should start with sightseeing. Like visit the

with sightseeing. Like visit the promenade, maybe go around the Prinzipalmarkt.

Ah, yeah.

Maybe visit the Aasee. It's very

beautiful. You can have a like 1-hour walk around the Aasee.

Okay. This is like of nice old churches, too, like the Ludgeri uh church and Domplatz is also pretty nice.

Münster is is this the biggest bishop uh seat place in in Germany.

Okay.

And of course you must see the important churches, the Dom.

Very big building.

Uh the Lambertikirche.

Ah, yeah, with this ladder.

[music] I'm pretty new to the city. Like, I come here for 1 day and I would like good recommendations. Um

recommendations. Um but, I'm a bit hungry. Do you know any good place to get like typical German food or food from this area, maybe?

Yeah.

We've been to Krawummel today. So, they

have vegan food. Um

I think it's not very traditional, but maybe it is.

It's a nice concept.

Yeah.

Yeah? Okay.

Vegan fast food.

Ah, like kebab.

[laughter] Yeah. So, I mean,

Yeah. So, I mean, it's kind of German food.

Yeah. Okay. Nice.

Maybe here are a lot of nice cafes where you could go just and grab a coffee.

What's your favorite cafe that you go to?

Just around the corner over there. We've

been there yesterday, actually.

[laughter] Okay.

Um it's called Moya. Maybe you can stop by.

Moya. Okay.

It was great.

Yeah, really good?

I'm not from Münster, but it was really great.

Yeah, you can go down the street on the left side. You've got like Aroi. It's a

left side. You've got like Aroi. It's a

rice bowl. You can eat there. And uh on the uh Domplatz, you know, at the big church uh there is uh the local market every Wednesday. Maybe you can eat something

Wednesday. Maybe you can eat something there.

And Saturday, too. Yeah.

[laughter] Okay.

I'll remember that.

So, we have like a local market here, also close to the old town. There you

find like more typical German or Münster food. Also,

typical Dutch food because Münster is also close to the uh to the border to to the Netherlands. Yeah, are lot of

the Netherlands. Yeah, are lot of fabulous ice cream um cafes uh Italian ice cream Nice.

for example uh under the behind the dome Ah.

to the Überwasser church Überwasser church?

Yes, there's on the right side a good Italian restaurant with with an ice bar.

I'm going often to a bagel shop. It's uh

near the uh Hansa Viertel.

Okay.

Uh it's called Teilchen und Beschleuniger and there it's pretty cheap and you can meet a lot of locals there.

Do you know this place? Hidden gems?

Hidden gems?

Uh like things that tourists would not know.

That only people from Münster would know.

That you don't tell tourists normally.

There's a typical restaurant. It's a

restaurant Israeli restaurant. It's

called Boname. So there's a quite cool food spot.

Nice.

A friend of of mine his uncle owns it so Okay.

So also a typical one. Not so the typical German restaurant. It's more

like Lebanese Israeli.

Nice. Do you get mates rates? Do you get a good deal because you know the owner?

Uh Not yet.

Not yet.

[laughter] I wish.

When you have this good weather, you can go to the canal in Münster. It's called and there it's normally for like uh shh [snorts] boats Yeah.

you can go there Okay.

Uh but uh when you have this good weather, you can just go swimming there all the day.

Like for younger people, there's the Hansa Hey, I'm young.

Yeah, yeah.

[laughter] And so there's like an area with a lot of bars and A lot of students.

Okay.

Maybe like not that expensive bars. Like

around this area it's quite expensive because like the tourist hotspot.

If you go to like different theater Yeah.

uh for example Hansa Theater or the Wolbecker Straße, Warendorfer Straße Hammer Straße.

Hammer Straße also. They're like uh hidden hidden pubs which not everybody know about.

What is the best way to like get around Münster? Like bus or train or do you

I know we don't have a subway. Um the

best is by bike. So we are um famous for the a lot of bikes. We have the most bikes in uh whole Europe, I think. And

uh it's more bikes than people here. And

uh it's the best. So you can rent a bike here, too. Uh for a day, maybe. I don't

here, too. Uh for a day, maybe. I don't

know how long you are here.

Should I take public transport? Should I

walk? Should I drive?

Maybe bike.

Bike. Bike. [laughter]

All right. Yeah. Okay. Okay. This is the best way.

Yeah, for sure. Because in Münster there's the Promenade. It's like one big circle around the city where you can just go by bike. It's kind of uh

fast lane for the bikes without any traffic lights and stuff like that.

Münster is quite small, so uh you should be able to walk there in like 30 minutes, but you can also catch a bus or hop on a bicycle. It's like pretty common for Münster.
