[Music] hello and welcome to today's video today we are talking about diamine inks now last year and flowing into this year I've done a range of videos where I've

talked about my top five inks from a particular brand and when I did the d mine one last year I said something along the lines of this could have been a top 25 without any issue a viewer said

okay let's see that then and so I've taken that one step further and this is my top 50 diamine inks now currently in my collection between the 30 mil and the

80m bottles and a few other things I've got around 120 diamine inks and I love the brand there's a lot of these that I

use quite a lot um and so creating a top 50 list wasn't particularly tricky um the three main bottles these inks come in is the 80 mil bottle and this is

Oxford blue which uh spoiler alert is number one on my list anyone who's watched my channel before knows how much I love this ink so won't be surprised at that but this is a really good quality glass bottle I put it labels on the top

of lot of my inks just so I can see the color when I'm looking down you know into a box of ink um so yes Oxford blue this one but the 80 mil bottle there's also the standard 30 mil bottle which I

like it's got a very small opening so it doesn't you know not every pen can kind of fit in it but they're really handy bottles and when I run these out I generally tend to keep the bottle and clean it out uh and then uh you know use

it for other in when I'm traveling and things cuz they're quite robust uh and a really handy size there's also the these ones these are the 150th anniversary set um and they came in these glass

triangular bottles and when you got eight of them they created like a circle um when never put next to each other and this is Terra Cotta which yes is also somewhere on this list um so

yes enough about that let's actually look at some ink so what I've done is I've done a little writing sample with each of these inks and then when we get to the top 25 I've also got them on

coloring cards to show let's get started number 50 is jet black good solid black not the blackest black not even di mind's black as black but a solid ink

performs pretty well number 49 is grape this is a drier ink uh it's a purpley color uh I like it because uh it's I think it's quite a unique purple and I

think it looks great on the page at 48 we've got pumpkin a vibrant pinky Orange um a lot of people love this ink I don't mind it it's just I prefer slightly darker oranges personally 47 is Taj

Mahal now this comes from the Colt pens exclus exclusive set Seven Wonders of the World this is a great blue it's sort of rich and dark uh with a bit of

personality to it I really enjoy it 46 we have Oka and Oka is a like a yellowy brown Honey brown and it's beautiful that's you know it's got some nice Sheen as well on the right paper at 45 we've

got seladon cat which was one of the Reddit exclusives from a couple of years ago nice ink simple ink bit of a multi chromy thing going on with pinks and greens and things coming through it's it's very nice

uh number 44 is Red Dragon dine do a range of Reds and you'll see a few of them on this list that are really great sort of options if you don't want like a bright vibrant red uh and red dragon is

one of those it's got some nice depth to it it's nice in dark but it's one of those inks that does kind of like get a bit crusty after a while just to be aware Majestic blue is number 43 and

this is a rich rich saturated like dark royal blue and lots of sheen on the right paper like lots and lots of chain at number 42 we have Autumn Oak now this would have a couple years ago this would

have been much higher on the list the only issue is is that I find it performs differently in different pens and some pens just don't like it uh it sort of send tends to ride a little bit light

for some pens and that's okay like we need inks of different sort of saturations and shading properties and all that kind of stuff but it's a beautiful color it really really is 41

we have Majestic purple another great ink from diine really like these any of these inks could be in people's top five they're wonderful um but Majestic purple

are lovely violety purple um which I quite like 40's rustic Brown solid Brown rich chocy brown just beautiful 39 is

Odin Neil which is a dark sort of turquoise almost tearly blue color beautiful color absolutely stunning and one of those things that performs really

well in just about any pen 38 is tune blue this was an exclusive or is an exclusive I should say to pen Venture em

over there and uh this is a really high sheening deep deep deep blue and it's beautiful next at 37 we have Petra uh another one from the seven wonders of

the well set from Colt pens and Dione this is a lovely slightly lower saturated orangey light brown um but I think it it looks beautiful and I've actually really enjoyed this one

particularly for things like sketching at 36 we have salamander one of my favorite color families are these earthy greens and salamander is like ticking boxes everywhere for that it's

absolutely stunning 35 we have cherry sunburst this is one of the lesole set from dine they had put out four ink colors that uh resembled the colors used

on lespol guitars and uh Cherry sbur absolutely stunning great ready orange ready brown color at number 34 we' got matador of these uh Rich Reds that uh

you know if you don't want something that's bright vibrant red great ink 33 is Marine and this is going to be one that is going to be much higher on other people's lists I will actually say your list will be different there will be in

I haven't included on this list that you will feel should be on there uh but this is my list and this is this is kind of based on um my list of inks I use so I I

tend to think that if I use an ink a lot it's going to be higher on my favorites list so that's kind of how I've structured this Marine is a great light light blue really really beautiful 322

is Great Wall of China yes another one from the um the wonders of the world set from uh from CT pens this is a really

beautiful ink it's a lighter saturated sort of earthy green um more sort of khy almost I love it 31 is pansy which is from the flower set this is one of those

things that people hold up as a an alternative to LY dark lilac I don't think it is I think it's a great ink in its own right if you want a rich purple that reads as purple pansies is a really

lovely Choice 30 is soft Min now this is one that could have been much higher on the list and from here we start to get a little harder to sort of separate um I struggled with a fewu around here of knowing the order in which to place them

because I think soft m is one of the most beautiful ink colors the probably the only reason it's slightly lower on the list is because it is quite a light ink and I tend to use and lean towards darker inks uh for a lot of my work at

29 we get blood orange one of my favorite oranges on the planet great ink this is from one of the 150th sets um just a beautiful beautiful ink then we get Onyx Black this is when I said

there's a darker black from ly this is that one this uh ink it it's it it doesn't it's not the best performer but it is such a great black on the page it does take longer to dry it it's a bit

more smudgy but it's a really solid deep dark black at 27 another from the 150th set this is is Dark Forest beautiful

like uh piny uh green with a touch of blue uh like Christmas tree green is kind of how I put it uh but yes awesome ink 26 is teal this was a hard one to

place this far down the list but you know things are as they are I love this ink uh it's a great performance nice and wet uh nice Sheen uh bit of shading but

a really rich sort of tear blue green which I really enjoy okay and now we get to the top 25 this is where I start to show the coloring cards as well and at

25 we have Earl Gray This was another of those Reddit um uh collaborations I believe and um this ink I I like gray inks and I like this one because it's

got a sort of a hint of purple in it um it's a really beautiful ink and uh it looks stunning on the page if you want something that's just a little bit different to a standard black at 24 we

have aqua Lagoon beautiful bright vibrant blue um you know competitor in my mind something like Marine but a more true blue less green in it which is

great for me at 23 we have poppy red this is one of those ones if you want a red that looks like a bright red this is where I go to um it's great it's got

some nice sort of gold sheen on it super super performer 22 is right as blood in terms of performance this should probably be slightly lower on the list but in terms of color it should be high

this is kind of where a balance is this color is wild it is so nice this rich dark red it's not a blood red I kind of took right as blood to not mean blood

but more like wine you know like how like you know cliche of a of a you know an author drinking you know wine and that kind of stuff I don't know that's

kind of just where I went um and uh you know it's but it does it's a very wet ink and it's very aggressive but the color is absolutely great 21 we have

bashel blueberry this is such a beautiful ink this was part of the I think it was like the summer fruits collection uh from uh from diine and Colt pens it's just gorgeous it's sort

of like a light purpley blue almost sort of on the gray end it looks great on the page nice page contrast and also another one I love using for artwork number 20 brings us Makar a

really solid Brown um it's not dissimilar to uh the espresso ink but espresso is so dry by that Macai has been the brown that I've sort of gone through quite a lot it's a it's a

wonderful wonderful ink di mine Twilight coming in at number 19 this is like a teal blue black almost on the green end of blue black uh but I still put it into that sort of blue

Blacky kind of family it's beautiful but it does look slightly different also depending on how where you apply it but uh I use this as a few years ago we did that thing you know what empty an ink bottle in a year so on January 1st I

started a fresh 80 mil bottle and by the end of the the year I'd gotten through to the end of one of these and I still loved the color so uh diine Twilight there at

19 diine burnt sienna at number 18 this ink is so lovely I I love these sort of more golden lighter Browns and um burn Sienna with it nice sort of hits of red and things it's just such a lovely

lovely color Okay green black amazing ink amazing ink and that's where we kind of get to now in the list they're all kind of amazing

the blue the sorry the greens that sort of come through uh this it's nice and Rich and dark it shows up beautifully on the page it's dark enough to be professional um you know you can get away with using this just about for

anything it's such a awesome ink okay and then a crowd favorite we get diine ancient Copper at number 16 this will be higher on a lot of people's lists for me I think there are other

brownie sort of colors that even in this list that I tend to lean towards more um and this is one of one of those ones that does sort of crud up quite a lot in a lot of nibs particularly if there's

any sort of air leakage to the nib um so yeah but amazing color and uh you know a really really popular ink diine Meadow now so a few years ago there was a brand

standard Bindery who made an ink called um I think it was called road trip which was a really awesome green and when they went out of business I started looking for a replacement and diamine Meadow was the one that I came up with I love this

ink for like highlighting things on the page so not like highlighting but like underlining them and things like that it's stands out it's got great contrast and it's a nice and sort of saturated light green it's just

beautiful and then we get mon botto's hat this is a great ink Super Rich uh purple um nice gold Sheen one of my favorite purple inks generally speaking

and one of my favorite D Mings just a really really lovely performer then another crowd favorite and a lot of these are we've got Oxblood

this is uh probably the darkest of the red inks it's got a lot of brown in it uh it dries a little Browner than it goes on but it looks amazing and um it's certainly got a lot of

personality at number 12 we have Aurora Borealis I love this ink I love this sort of sort of tear turquoise color family there's a few of them on this list and things like Rober osta

tranquility and things like that as well I really enjoy this color family and uh Aurora Borealis is a really solid ink in

it okay number 11 d mine Cyro this list this would have been much high on my list a few years ago um I've just sort of found other

inks recently that have sort of replaced this one but those sort of red wine sort of you know dark Reds and things and purples and the gold Chen it's just absolutely

stunning my favorite diine green is diine Sherwood Green in wet writing this is super rich in lighter drier writing you still get a beautiful underlying

green it's um it's a it's a stunning stunning ink one that people love and one that I just really use a lot actually a bottle of it sits on my

desk then um I've got out of screen there at number nine we have Michael finally finnally both my name and also an ink color that I really love a few years ago

this was my ink of the year so this is part of the d mine cult pen series um related to the people that worked at cult pens um so Michael or in the smaller bottle little Mickey um super

saturated rich dark blue with red Sheen and copper Sheen and it's just just a stunning stunning ink and I love it to bits okay next on the list we have bilb

at number eight one of my favorite inks for drawing one of my favorite inks for uh um writing in general once again it's a blue purple or blurle sort of color uh

and I I find myself using it a lot for an everyday writing ink but as I said for drawing and things that actually separates with water very nicely and you get some nice sort of shading and things that come through so diine bilbury at

number eight next we have terracotta from the 150th anniversary set one of my first d mine inks I absolutely fell in love with and one that has stayed with me I've

gone through I think I'm on my third bottle of it now it's just one of those inks that writes beautifully this in a twisp diamond 580 is like one of my

absolute Choice combinations great ink I like that it's sort of got a bit of a matte feel but but then in the shade in the sheen you've got a bit of gloss just absolutely stunning okay Imperial purple

of all the purples this is the one I tend to use the most it's dark enough to be uh you know sort of professional it's got a bit of blue to it so you know it looks nice but uh Imperial purple is one

of my favorite purples and I think it's absolutely great and uh it performs absolutely beautifully as well okay top

five time Monaco red just perfect a perfect ink for me it's red on the page but not super red it's dark enough to

sort of to you know to uh be my you know sort of flavor if you will but light enough that you can absolutely see it stand out particularly against like blue blacks and blues and things like that

diamond Monaco red my choice of number five number four is one of my favorite blue black inks probably my favorite blue black and blue black is my favorite color family I love I know I said I love

those teals and turquoises and all that kind of stuff but blue blacks they for me they feel like the perfect Fountain Penning color and 1864 blue black from

the 150th anniversary series is right up there for me dark dark sheen blue enough to be noticeably not black but

absolutely dark enough to be uh you know very very clear on the page so number four 864 blue black diine Eclipse comes

in at number three this is an ink I use for sketching a lot because it's dark it's Rich once again it separates nicely with water you get some nice sort of Grays and purples and things but it's

like a super dark purple almost sort of blue black uh and I think it's absolutely stunning and I've always loved riding with this ink Kenington blue comes in at number

two and yes there are a number of Blues like the top four on this list kind of all kind of fall into that blue category as to a couple sort of around the eight and n as well um but this one has such vibrancy on the page it's beautiful it

pops it's bright but not so too bright just absolutely gorgeous and uh I've had this Inked in my uh pilot Elite

a number of times and I just feel it's one of those perfect combinations and then number one as we all know is diine Oxford blue just the perfect dark blue

ink almost into that blue black category but very very blue nice Sheen you know good performance nice and wet this in Alami 2000 is Unstoppable

diamine Ox blue my number one my number one ink full stop but my number one on this top 50 inks from diine so I hope you found this video interesting so I certainly really

enjoyed putting it all together I love d m inks as uh you might be able to see and um you know I think uh they have such a great variety of colors and they
