hi and welcome to this quick video on what is the difference between validated and accepted deliverables so why exactly is this
important well basically validation and acceptance are two different things but they sound similar so a lot of asirs studying for their PMP exams often get
confused Within These two terms the the other thing is there could be questions pertaining to this concept in exam and to answer those questions you should be
able to differentiate between validated deliverable and accepted deliverable so validated deliverable so this is basically the one that has been
completed and checked for correctness during control quality process so the keyword here is checked for for correctness so once a deliverable is
complete it is checked for correctness and usually this check could be within the organization or even outside the organization in certain cases so this is
a validated deliverable which is complete and checked for correctness now these are the knowledge area and the process group quality management and MNC
where in this process comes in and in the pjka mapping here under the red circle is where you can see the control
quality process is so this is where a deliverable is validated now let's move to accepted
deliverable now this is basically the one that has been accepted through the validate scope process now this is the deliverable which has been accepted so
remember in the previous process we just checked the comp completed deliverable for correctness here it has been
accepted either by the client or whoever is sponsoring the project or any other major stakeholders so the knowledge area is
scope management process group is again M andc and under the red circle is where it falls in the pjka mapping so although
the name of the process is validate scope and this is why a lot of aspirants get confused because we talked about validated deliverable in the previous
slide but that was just checking for correctness in the validate scope process is where if the the deliverable
is accepted by the customer it will be known as an accepted deliverable so in a nutshell here is what we discussed
deliverables they are checked for correctness the outcome could would be either validated deliverables or change requests when they are checked for correctness if the team finds everything
to be correct they will be known as validated deliverables if the team finds that something is not correct there could be certain change requests to make
them correct and once the deliverables are validated they are taken to the pro the client the customer by the project
manager or the the sponsor or any other major stakeholders and we receive a formal sign off and those are known as accepted
deliverables that's all in this quick video please like share subscribe and comment and check out the website pmpl lounge.com for more such helpful videos
