hello hello and welcome to aurora's brain works where we get creative and see if it works today we're going to be working with hard points and anchors i recently had a youtube comment from the user lost

and they asked this question oh a very good question we talk about having these harnesses and having homework rope and then you can just tie the homework rope to something to

anchor someone in place well how do you do that that's a good point so here we are hard points and anchors that's what we're going to talk about because it's safe and the right thing to do speaking of safe

safe sane and consensual safety be sure to have some safety shares with you at all times you can always get a new rope can't get a new life

and consensual me marie and crochet rory are all consenting adults communication is key now before we get into this wonderful tutorial we must first thank our sponsors

not had nylon knothead nylon is the destination for all your premium nylon rope bondage needs easy to clean water resistant up to 1100 pounds of weight load and in a wide array of beautiful

vibrant colors not head nylon will slake your rope desires at checkout put in discount code rory10 for 10 off so i think we should kind of go over

the verbiage really quick what is a hardpoint and an anchor well to put it simply a hardpoint is a solid structure that you will be tying someone to you obviously don't want to tie someone

to some flimsy structure if you've ever seen one of those videos with a cat with a balloon attached to it it's running around with the balloon the balloon's following it you don't want your sub or

your rope model whoever to be doing that you don't want to tie them to a chair and then all of a sudden they are running with that chair you want something solid to anchor them in place that is

your hard point generally hard points are used a lot in suspension if you think about uh like a bamboo hardpoint they're used for the suspension lines sturdy structures that are not going to

buckle under the pressure of weight or what have you now you can use some of the anchors i'm going to be showing you with a hardpoint that is above you if you do know

that what you're doing is not suspension these things i'm showing you are not specific for suspension please do not use it for that suspension requires a lot more finesse a lot more knowledge and practice

something that should be definitely done under supervision until you are quite proficient at it the hard points i will be using are something that are standing so you're having a rope model sit in place and the ropes are then attached to something behind them or in front of

them that they can't get to because you don't want them to you know untied and then run away now you know now

would you please cry mini removing suspension from the picture it's not very difficult to figure out if a hardpoint is going to work for you or not you've been alive for a long time you

understand what may be structurally solid and what will not be structurally solid use your best judgment i believe in you now for the anchors that's something entirely different let's look at some i have my makeshift

hardpoint here it's actually not a very solid structure which goes against everything i've just told you but it's the best thing to show you these anchors on so ignore that portion

let's focus in on the anchors so on that side of the rope is our rope model the end of the rope is connected to them and whatever harness you happen to have them in and now we have the tail ends of the rope and

we're going to anchor them to something now for the most part simplicity and strength are the two things you want to be looking for you don't want to spend 10 minutes trying to

set some really ridiculous anchor that's also going to take 10 minutes to take them out of you want something you can tie down in about 10 seconds that way you can undo it in 10 seconds

if you need to get your rope model out it's always good to be aware of how quickly you can get someone out of something there's gonna be a flash second thought of should i cut the ropes how quickly can i get them out

now this anchor is a double half hitch very simple sturdy quick so we're gonna wrap around what we have right here we're gonna create a loop just like that

we're gonna go through the loop tighten that awesome that is a half hitch and what we're gonna do bring the rope back around do the same thing create a loop

go through it tighten that down what you can do is once you've done tighten it from this area hold on to both of the half hitches and pull from where the rope model is

and then you can do the same thing hold from right here pull from that side just to get that extra sturdiness and now the rope model is secured in place and this area also

secure double half hitch fast quick easy simple strong other adjectives let's move on from that one so i have a quick release option

as well i call it the double loop quick release it is fun and satisfying in all those quick release ways it's going to make it so the rope model is solidly anchored in place but on your end you have the ability to quick release

and get it out in seconds so we're gonna pull taut and we're gonna pull around and create a loop just like that we're still holding the tail end on this side and we're going to reach through this loopy here and we're going to grab the

body of that rope tighten that up a little bit and you're going to pull it through so we this is the body of the rope and this is the loop that we just created cool now with the tail end we're going to create another loop and stick it through

this one that we just created so we're gonna pull the rope from the anchor side and that's it we have this tail in right here and that is the quick release but this side right

here solid that ain't going nowhere it's going to loosen it up and get some of the slack out of the way but still it ain't going nowhere

what you can do hold your finger in this loop go to the base of the knottage itself and pull from the anchor towards the hard point and if you want a quick release you just pull on this side

brings it all out instantaneous how fun is that now it is important to note that you probably shouldn't give the rope model that you're anchoring

down access to the quick release how you prevent them from getting to the quick release well that's on you i can't cover over the huge amount of variables

that would give a rote model access to the quick release to allow them to escape that one's on you [Laughter] i can only show you so much all right let's move on to the next one

so this next one isn't really necessary but it is fun however the first two i showed you are simple and strong great tools to have in your tool belt barring anything suspension you really

don't need much else when it comes to anchoring someone to a hardpoint there are a lot of different ways to anchor to a hardpoint these ones are just some of my favorites this next one though ah

it is called the anchor hitch you literally use it to attach a rope to an anchor for a boat or a ship what have you which makes it a mariners knot all my fishy folk out there know how

this one works really should for the most part i don't know how often you're attaching ropes to anchors so we start by twisting around our hardpoint

and at that point you can tighten it up a little bit and we're going to do another half rotation so around this one and a half times we're going to cross over the top of our body

and what goes over must go under so say the rory so we're loosening that up just ever so

slightly because we're gonna go

over and then under the both of those fantastic this is already starting to look like

a single column tie now we're then going to create an x over ourselves see how we have this rope right here and we're basically crossing over creating an x we're going to go around and through

this little loop right here now if you're familiar with clove hitches you're going to realize that hey that's just a clove hitch at the end of a twist yeah essentially you twist around create a clove hitch

for the most part a little bit more delicate than that but that's it pull from both ends from the body and the tail and that is tight you can now throw that

hardpoint into the ocean don't do that that is a choke please do not send your rope model sleeping with the fishes let me show you from the other way

this one is uh does take a little bit of time to undo so keep that in mind all right so we started by going around the front of it so i'll go around the back you'll kind of get the opposite

view on this one you always want to make sure that you're going above the body as well tighten that down cool we have our one and a half rotations so we're going to cross over the body

what goes over must go under so i'm gonna loosen this up a little bit send that rope underneath [Music]

tighten that down cool now we're going to go towards where we just came from creating an x over this right here

we're going to loop around and come through this hole pull from both ends and that is a solid anchor point that rope model

ain't going nowhere well hey i hope you i hope you had fun learning from those tutorials as i did teaching them to you i will make this outro brief because

currently marie is testing some of the anchor points on crochet rory and it's not wise to leave her unsupervised for too long and you i would be remiss if i did not bring up my other lovely sponsors for

today the wonderful people over at patreon that's patreon.com rory's brainworks just like this youtube channel they are my rope vanguard my colonizers of dreams and without them

these ropey endeavors would be way harder to accomplish speaking of which those cool patreons get access to this nifty merch right here kinky nerdy you know it applies to you you can get that in t-shirts sweatshirts

coffee mugs and stickers thank you for spending your time with me be sure to like this video subscribe to this madness and comment down below what kind of robotics things you would like us

to teach you as always i'm rory this is our brain i'm fairly certain it works be safe and go create some art
