Hermes agent how to automate anything.
So, today we're going to be looking at some of the best ways to use Hermes agent to get the most out of it, to build and automate anything. If you're
not familiar with Hermes agent, basically you can get it as an open-source project and it is by far the most powerful and most useful agent that I've come across, right? And I've tested
all sorts of things out from like Open Claw to Hermes to, for example, Max Hermes and pretty much every variant. If you've
seen any of my other videos on YouTube, this is by far my favorite tool so far.
So, I'm just going to crack into to testing out some new stuff with it. If
you don't know how to run it, basically you just go to your terminal like so and you're going to follow the quick start install instructions right here. Once
you've installed this, then you can go into your terminal and type something like Hermes and just go off and and basically automate anything. Now, if
you're watching this live, by the way, feel free to ask any questions as you go along, always happy to help. And if
you've not seen my recent stuff on like building out websites with this, it's pretty crazy. Like, let me show you an
pretty crazy. Like, let me show you an example.
So, for example, we've been building out a a lot of like content sites with Hermes AI SEO. Basically, it can write the content, it can automate it, etc. And you can see the results that we're
getting, right? Like, these websites are
getting, right? Like, these websites are ranking really nicely with SEO for our target keywords. All the websites are
target keywords. All the websites are following like the same pattern, the same sort of trend, as you can see. So,
these were pretty much like flat websites and then they're they're growing on a really nice trajectory. So,
and I mean, here's another one. Look at
that chart. It's it's pretty wild, right? This is like basically Hermes
right? This is like basically Hermes only came out in February this year, so February 2026, and you can see how we're using it for SEO, right? Like, it's it's absolutely grown.
Damavish says live with the best.
Appreciate you joining. Thank you very much, sir. That's kind. And so, we're
much, sir. That's kind. And so, we're going to go from here and you know, if you have any questions as you go along, feel free to ask. You know, I'm happy to to show you the stuff that I'm working on or if you got any questions, that
sort of thing.
The first thing that I want to test out some new like UI tools that you can use cuz I know one of the biggest problems that I think I personally have and probably a lot of other people have
is that using Hermes inside the terminal is like it's okay, but it just doesn't feel like you're using it feels like you're coding. It doesn't
feel like you're using an IC agent, right? And so, I want to test out some
right? And so, I want to test out some cool stuff like Hermes web UI, which is an open source project where you can basically use Hermes agent from the web or from your phone. It's a free open
source project. You can just get Hermes
source project. You can just get Hermes agent to install it for you and then you can go from there.
Java says, is Hermes free? So, yes, it's a free open source project, right? You
can use it for free and you can start working with it for free. Now,
bear in mind, this is the harness, right?
So, Hermes agent is is what holds the AI that you're using to make it better and sort of forms it and speaks to it in a way that that gets useful stuff out of it. And then,
it. And then, you want to get like a free API or a free local model if you want to use it like completely free, right? Bear in
mind like News Research, they have new APIs all the time that are free and same with open routers as well. There's often
like new free APIs. Like I think our alpha just came out recently, that's a free API. You know, Gemma 4 as well,
free API. You know, Gemma 4 as well, they just they just had a new update yesterday and so, you can use like local models for free as well with agents and you know, either way, you can you can use this
stuff for free, which is pretty awesome.
So, let's get into this one right here, Hermes web UI. I want to install this, right? So, let's have a look and see if
right? So, let's have a look and see if it's got some ideas on the quick set install. Yeah, we're going to we're
install. Yeah, we're going to we're going to plug that in.
Like so.
There we go. We have Hermes web UI. So,
this I mean, look at the difference between these two, right? This is
Hermes agent, and they've just released a new update that I want to test right now. So, let's update right now, and
now. So, let's update right now, and then we'll get this new version.
And that is struggling to update. So,
what I want to do in a sec Look at that. All right, cool. So, what
I'm going to do over here is I'm going to take This is something for you to be aware of. Something breaks, right? Just
aware of. Something breaks, right? Just
go into Hermes, and be like, "Mate, what are we doing here? Get this working."
So, if we paste in the information from the GitHub here, and just say, "Get this working with Hermes plus syncs, etc." And then we can get those two working
together.
There's some other cool stuff that's come out for Hermes recently. Like, you
can use it with hyperframes for creating videos and that sort of thing. You can
see here.
The API has failed. That is why. Okay,
it makes sense.
Let's just check.
What are we doing here?
All right. So, I'm going to go to my You can see here we're getting the API failed from open router problem over here.
This is quick and easy way to fix this, which is get a new API key.
Like this.
Create that.
Copy that.
Go into Claude.
And then we'll say, "Can you fix my local installation of Hermes?"
I'm just going to say I want to use chat GPT to what? Do you know what? In fact,
I could probably just go into Hermes setup and change the API. Let's see if we can just switch it over to open AI codex. There we go.
codex. There we go.
We're logged in.
Yes.
So, if you ever want to change things around, you can run Hermes setup inside your terminal and that just changes things around, right? So, I'm
going to switch over to GPT 3.5.
Everything else is same.
Pick up the new changes here.
Actually, if you've already got a chat GPT subscription, that's another good way to use Hermes.
Let's see what we got in the questions here.
Right on, Goldie.
There we go.
Um Tudu says, "Do you think it's possible to give Hermes access to my details so it can fill in forms online?"
Yeah, sure. I mean, only give it what you're comfortable with. That's the
thing that I would say.
Right? Like
you know, you you don't want to give it any information that you're not comfortable with sharing with it. So,
just be careful with that. Let's just
check this works.
So, it's changed to GPT 3.5. I want to make sure it actually works here.
If it doesn't, I'm getting Claude on the case.
Super slow. Look at that.
Uh Dharma issues asked if I'm on a VPS.
No, I use just I run it locally.
I prefer to run this stuff locally. I
think it's far better that way.
There we go. All right, so Hermes is working now.
It's a little bit slow, which I don't like.
But that would do. All right, perfect. So
now if we go back to Hermes UI just go to settings.
Check we're on the latest version.
We'll check now.
Model switching. Yeah, I don't like it.
I always get nervous switching AI models to be honest.
[laughter] And then do you know what? I'm not It doesn't bother me that much with Hermes.
I'm like I think Hermes has got it.
We're going to be okay here. But if I Do you know what? If I switch over models for something like Open Claw like I'm holding my breath. I don't You know like every time I click update on
anything on Open Claw I'm like I don't know if this is going to work, you know? Like it could totally break.
you know? Like it could totally break.
All right, there we go. So that's
that switched over nicely. We've got two different options here. So we've got um two different Hermes profiles, two different Hermes agents as you can see right here.
And that actually worked pretty nicely.
So what's free here? So just to be clear for for the people um so Hermes agent is free.
Open source, free project, anyone can get access to it. Right?
And then for the actual brain of the operation, I'm using ChatGPT and my subscription with ChatGPT. If you don't have that then you
ChatGPT. If you don't have that then you could use a free API. For example, like on Open Router, I think our Alpha is one that came out recently if I'm not mistaken.
Let's have a look here. Yes, you can use this for free and it's got a million token contacts window. So like you know, you can find ways around it.
Where where is Aon UI? Why you use Hermes web UI instead? I like to use them all, you know, I like to test new things. I also think it's important to
things. I also think it's important to show like my audience new things, too.
So like we can have we can open up Aon UI as well if you want, but I just wanted to test out the new version of Hermes workspace and let's you see what it's like.
Cuz what they've just launched recently is this new section is called Kanban, right? Now this was an update literally
right? Now this was an update literally straight from Hermes this week.
Also, what they've done here is they've set up something called Kanban, right?
And what that means essentially is that you can assign on your Kanban board tasks for your agent to do and then it'll just go off and implement
them, right? So if we put in the new
them, right? So if we put in the new task here, okay, create an SEO calculator.
And I'll say you figure out the details.
Something like that, right? We add that as a new task. Then we just need to assign it.
All right, so we've got that set up right here.
And you can see some examples of this.
So like previously we had our agent go off and create a new AI SEO blog.
That was pretty cool. But it's it's got this new feature called Kanban here, right?
And so you can actually assign that to a person as well. So if we
as well. So if we look at that, should be going.
And then also we've got like skills and that sort of thing which is pretty cool here too.
Well, the memory spaces, etc. Spaces looks interesting.
Ah, so that's like your local files and that sort of thing.
Nice.
All right, cool. So, we set that up.
That was interesting. I wouldn't say it was like as good as I was expecting to be honest with Hermes Kanban. I think
using Hermes Kanban directly off the source way more interesting.
I also wanted to check this out.
Essentially, there is um an app for Hermes, right? It's called
Hermes Swift Mac.
So, I want to try this out now. Let's
download this.
There we go.
Basically, what this allows us to do is run Hermes Web UI as a desktop application as well, all right?
So, if we said, "Okay, go off and create a beautiful website for the AI Profit Bot and Community."
We paste that in there.
We can actually use this in the desktop.
And again, that's way nicer than using the terminal, all right? Like, compare
them side by side.
Crazy difference, right? Crazy
difference.
By the way, like if you're watching this and you have questions, feel free to ask. That's really what I'm here for.
ask. That's really what I'm here for.
I just want to help people.
So, it's be- beginning to build out locally as you can see.
And for anyone watching, if you're wondering, okay, what is AON UI? The AON
UI is similar, but it's not just for Hermes, right? It's for everything.
Hermes, right? It's for everything.
You don't like the MS-DOS look? Not at
all, mate. Not at all.
It's so bad.
Does anyone actually like the terminal user interface? I'm going to show you an
user interface? I'm going to show you an interesting plug-in in a second. It's pretty cool for for terminal interfaces, as well.
And I'll come on to that in a second, but again, who likes the terminal UI? Right? So,
yeah, you've [snorts] got this as well, which is the which is a desktop app, but it's it's not just for Hermes, it's for all your AI agents, right? So, you see, you can, for example, add whatever you want.
Um I installed Hermes as my first agent a few days ago, and I'm impressed so far.
What sort of stuff have you automated with it? I'd be interested to know.
with it? I'd be interested to know.
That's nice. Awesome work.
Yours is actually interesting. I've I've
never heard anyone say I installed Hermes and hated it. Like, I've I've literally never heard that.
Everyone I know who's checked it out loves it.
So, if we go back into Hermes agent here, there we go.
Look at that beautiful startup screen.
Mhm, why is that not working? Let's try that.
Oh my goodness.
That is struggling massively.
On the Hermes uh Yeah, this is not so good. Let's try and plug in our own API key here.
I'll remove that open router key. Remove
that. We'll switch that to open router and I'll plug in API up here.
Let's grab an API key.
Copy that and then we'll go back to Hermes desktop. Plug this in. So, what
Hermes desktop. Plug this in. So, what
we're doing here is adding a new API key into Hermes agent and that should be good.
And then if you switch this over to open router All right, I'm going to close that.
And then we've got this one as well.
This is Hermes workspace.
So, let's come back to here.
And this is a new terminal UI plugin.
Let's see what we got here.
I used Hermes for about 5 days, after the recent nation rate started increasing and performance kept declining every day, I quit using it.
For my agents. Well, the goal of like Hermes specifically is that it gets better every time, right? The more you use it, the better it gets. I've
honestly not had those issues with it, but if you do have those issues with it, maybe it's a model that you're plugging into it.
Well, I'd be curious to know like what model you put into it directly.
Studio says, "I'm I'm giving Hermes details about the new SaaS he's building, preparing for the launch.
I have no idea about marketing." Well, I hope my new personal assistant definitely can help with that.
Definitely.
Said says, "It actually has a beautiful agent startup."
agent startup." [laughter] I I wouldn't say I mean, as far as terminals go, I guess it's probably the nicest but it's still I don't know. It's still not what I expect, you know?
All right, let's try and install this one then. So, this is a new terminal UI
one then. So, this is a new terminal UI dashboard for Hermes as well.
I'm just going to be testing out some new stuff today.
Whatever you want to automate, by the way, with Hermes, like just go into just go into um Hermes and like ask it to do that, you know? That's the way that I would do it.
know? That's the way that I would do it.
Look, so this looks pretty interesting.
So, this is a a new style of terminal user interface. So, you can actually
user interface. So, you can actually edit it with this um free dashboard, right?
And so, you can actually change the command palette as well, if you press command and K, like that.
You can switch between Hermes profiles.
And there's also tabs here.
So, you can tab between like uh the different styles.
So, like this is type sessions, context, agents analytics etc. And then you can also chat with it here.
So, let's try this.
This is strange, though. Why is it um struggling with API?
So, one of the biggest issues that you'll find with Hermes is just managing the APIs.
Um I think for me particularly because sometimes like it changes if you switch model provider, it changes something in the config and then sometimes I can break other stuff, right? Even if it like Hermes directly inside the
terminals working perfectly.
But then if you have a problem, sometimes it'll be with other extensions like this, right? Where it says there's no API unplugged in.
And so, what you do is you you would copy the error from terminal here, plug it into Hermes here and just get it fixed from there.
Is agent swarms the next big thing? I I
think it it's definitely something that's useful if you need like a big team of agents, right? That's the main thing here is like, you know, what's your team looking like? What are you using it for?
It's just another tool that you can use.
That's the way that I would look at it.
It was pretty hard to configure, to be fair. Like when I was using um
fair. Like when I was using um when I was using Hermes workspace and configuring that the swarms, I had to spend about 20 minutes with Claude just trying to get
it working in sync up. Eventually it
worked, but it took a lot of like manual configuring with Claude directly.
Julian, if you had to pick one web-based interface for Hermes, what would it be?
Aeon, Hermes workspace, Hermes regular Hermes. I would probably use um
Hermes. I would probably use um I think the Hermes workspace is my favorite favorite just cuz you can kind of go in there.
Let me find it now. You can kind of go into Hermes agent workspace and it kind of feels and looks like something I'm familiar with, right? It feels and looks like ChatGPT or something like that.
So, that's my favorite right here. I'd
recommend that, to be honest. Um, I
think that's one of the best ones. It
just looks nicest.
And it's pretty easy to use as well.
All right, you can just go inside the chat here, start using it. It's super
chill. Um, you can go from there. And I
really like that.
Have Claude code or codex to write to config. Yeah, 100%. I mean, I would just
config. Yeah, 100%. I mean, I would just use Hermes to write to config, but yeah, for sure.
So, let's just check this out now.
Just going to stop that.
And then we'll try this again.
By the way, I'm using Antigravity as a main development environment. Would it
be good idea to create sort of MCP server for Hermes?
Yeah, you can actually do that. Or you
can just go inside Antigravity and like you can use Hermes directly. Right?
Like, if you go into I don't know if I've still got Yeah, I haven't got Hermes um I haven't got Antigravity set up anymore.
But like basically you can go into Antigravity. I used to do the same thing with Claude and use Hermes inside Antigravity.
And then you can have it inside the development workspace, which is pretty cool.
All right, this is still fixing things.
I installed Open Claude 2 weeks ago and have been spending the last 2 weeks fixing Open Claude.
[laughter] That's classic. That's a classic. I
That's classic. That's a classic. I
mean, sometimes with agents, right?
Like, you Let's be honest, you can spend more time fixing it than you can be unproductive. That's a big problem.
unproductive. That's a big problem.
Uh that's why picking the right model matters so much and also picking the right agent. Like, Open Claude when it
right agent. Like, Open Claude when it first came out was far better than it actually is right now, right? Like,
Open Claude right now, I don't I rarely use it, right? I I prefer like the old versions, like going right back to the start. It seems to be way more powerful
start. It seems to be way more powerful and way more useful back then than it does now.
What does Hermes and Claude Code can do together? I'm into Hermes, but I haven't
together? I'm into Hermes, but I haven't tried Claude Code yet. What's the
difference and what's the use case? So,
I mean, that's quite a good question.
Let's pull this up. We'll get the whiteboard out here.
So, you've got Hermes and you've got Claude, right?
Claude Code.
So, I mean, one of the first things I would say here is like if you're again, like if you're using Claude Code, it's going to be way nicer and easier
and smoother to use as a as a agent, right? Cuz you've got Claude Desktop,
right? Cuz you've got Claude Desktop, you can um you can just manage it inside a chat. It feels
nice. It's got all these different sections. It's way easier to manage,
sections. It's way easier to manage, right? So,
right? So, nice UI, for sure. Number two, more reliable.
Because it's like, you know, Claude is a is a big company, right? It's not just like a open-source project. It's like
this has to be reliable for for everyone using it. And so, it's way more
using it. And so, it's way more reliable right?
Um open-source projects are usually like they're great for building stuff, but they're quite bad for like um being reliable and being stable, right?
So, less stable.
But, at the same time, Hermes Agent is way more customizable because it's open source.
Claude Code, you basically um get what you get.
Now, also, Claude's API within Claude Code is the most powerful API that I've ever used.
And then also, with Hermes Agent is limited to the API you configure.
So, if you don't have a good model you don't get a good output.
Right?
So, those are some of the biggest differences here as well.
Um Also, you can run Hermes locally.
And Claude is expensive.
[laughter] For most people. For most people unless you're if you're a business, like, yeah, no. Not a big deal, but yeah. Yeah, all
no. Not a big deal, but yeah. Yeah, all
right. This should be fixed now. Let's
test it out now.
Um so, we're going to try this now.
You never know. We'll try it now.
Create fresh user on your PC before install Oh, that's a good tip. That's a
good tip.
There we go. That is working now. So,
you see how Hermes actually fixed the issues with this extension.
That's what we want. That's what we want.
I want to know how we change the colors and stuff on this.
Just use Open reset panel stuff by API key config.
Speaking of models, I'm currently using DeepSeek V4 flash for Hermes with an exemption for vision tasks.
What do you think about that? Yeah,
DeepSeek is a good model. I quite like it. It's super fast, you know, and
it. It's super fast, you know, and obviously it's it's more affordable than most, too.
All right, let's try these. So, if we type in /keys, let's see what we got here.
Think we can change Oh, look at that. We
can switch the color theme here.
So, you get all these different colors in the TUI.
And there you go.
It's like a little button.
So the [laughter] That is just something that I wanted to see. I wanted to test out today. Uh that
see. I wanted to test out today. Uh that
was kind of fun. All right.
Which is better, Hermes or Haiku? Oh,
these are different things. You're
comparing apples and oranges here, right? So, Haiku is
right? So, Haiku is the API that you could plug into something like Hermes, and Hermes is like the harness, right? So, really what you want to compare is which is better?
Claude code or something like um Hermes? For me
personally, I use both, right? If I need If I need to fix something and I need something good, stable, and reliable, I always use Claude code.
But if I want to create like some fun in automation, that's super interesting, then I'm going to go with something like Hermes instead.
Open Claw seems to easier to train than Hermes. I actually found that Hermes is
Hermes. I actually found that Hermes is way easier to train than Open Claw, honestly. Is Hermes and Open Claw
honestly. Is Hermes and Open Claw basically the same thing? So, they're
They're the same idea, but they're implemented in different ways, right?
And I would say that so far, Hermes is a lot smoother, a lot more reliable, a lot more stable than using something like Open Claw, for sure. For sure.
for sure. For sure.
So, we've tested a new UI. We've tested
out desktop apps. We've tested out um TUI. And we've also tested out the
TUI. And we've also tested out the workspace and Kanban boards with Hermes agent. That's basically everything I
agent. That's basically everything I wanted to cover today. I've covered
every single question, as well.
So, I appreciate everyone being on. And
um if you want to get more trainings on how to use Hermes agent, feel free to get that inside the AI Profit Room. Link in the comments and description or just go to the AI Profit
Room.com. We have an amazing community
Room.com. We have an amazing community where you can ask questions, get help and support, etc. You can jump on the weekly coaching calls, share your screen, ask questions about your setup.
Inside the classroom, you get access to all of my best training. So, for
example, we actually have new daily tutorials and stuff like Hermes, how to use it, step-by-step guides, full road maps etc. And then, we have like a beginner to expert course
here in case you're a complete beginner.
Um and also a map where you can connect with people in your local city. Just an
awesome group of people who are learning about AI automation and a great community, um, having, you know, enjoying the process. So, thanks for watching. I'll
process. So, thanks for watching. I'll
see you on the next one.
Cheers. Bye-bye.
