This reel took me 15 minutes to edit, and it doesn't look like the fast edited generic reels you're scrolling past every single day. Most editors never crack this. Editing fast is easy, but

crack this. Editing fast is easy, but fast usually looks cheap. Making

something that looks good usually takes hours, but doing both at once is the gap nobody fills. In this video, I'm handing

nobody fills. In this video, I'm handing you the exact workflow that closes it.

By the end of this video, you'll be editing reels good enough to charge premium, but fast enough to take on more clients. And if you want to edit

clients. And if you want to edit alongside with me, all the practice footage I'll link down in the description. Let's just get right into

description. Let's just get right into the video. So, now we're in DaVinci

the video. So, now we're in DaVinci Resolve. And the first thing we're going

Resolve. And the first thing we're going to do is just set up the project. So,

we'll just tap on the gear here, and then we'll jump into the settings. So,

the first thing we'll be doing is just choosing our timeline resolution. I'll

make it 4K since the footage is shot in 4K. But, Instagram only supports 1080p,

4K. But, Instagram only supports 1080p, but I'll just have it as a high-quality version. And then we'll press on use

version. And then we'll press on use vertical resolution, which makes it for short-form content. And I'll just use

short-form content. And I'll just use the timeline frame rate, and I'm going to choose 30 FPS. And we'll just press save to save these settings. And then we can just right-click in the media pool, and then we'll just And I'll just import

the raw footage here. This footage is already color graded, but if you want to see my exact color grading workflow, just comment color grading below, and I'll make a video on how I color grade.

But now we'll just take this footage here and add it to our timeline. Then

what I usually do is I'll zoom in a little bit like this here, and just drag it up a little bit, and drag it down like this so we can see the wave waveform completely fine. And then we'll just look at where we have any gaps, and

we'll press on B to open the blade tool, and then we'll just make cuts on all of the pauses. So, that's just go to what

the pauses. So, that's just go to what we're going to start off by doing. This

way we are making the reel more engaging to watch because there's no pauses. And

And when we have done this, we'll just press on shift and space on all of the pauses here so we have some fast-paced footage. So now, I'll just make the

footage. So now, I'll just make the waveform a little bit smaller again, and the video footage as well. And then we just drag this down a little bit. And

then we can actually start off by making a intro zoom out. So, how we going to do that is we'll just [music] go to So, here, and we'll go to effects at our adjustment clip over the footage. I'm

going to just make it whatever time you want. I'll just make it over the whole

want. I'll just make it over the whole time of this clip here. Then just jump into fusion, and we will just wrap a transform like this here. Then add a keyframe on the zoom, and go to the end, and add another keyframe, and then just

zoom in to 1.4 on the first frame here, or whatever you want to. And then we'll just press the control A, and then S, and then we'll just drag it down like this here, and over like this as well.

Then [music] you can see we get this super clean zoom out in the beginning.

And then if we want to, we can also add a blur right after, and add a keyframe at the end, make it zero, go to the first frame, and just drag it up a little bit like this here. And just do the exact same thing, control A, drag

this one down, and this one over, like that.

And this is perfect. So, now we will be making the hook. And what I usually do is when I'm adding captions, I use the caption creator pack, which streamlines my workflow, so I can be able to edit a lot faster, and pump out a lot more

high-quality reels. [music] In the

high-quality reels. [music] In the caption creator pack, you get the style hook style mine. And as you can see here, we have a bunch of different time styles to go. Just going through them, seeing which ones you like. We have the

shine hook, we have the inverted hook, and we have some of the stop motion hook, which is also really like. But for

this, I'll be using one of the shine hook. You can find this in the link down

hook. You can find this in the link down below. This will save you a bunch of

below. This will save you a bunch of time. So, what I'll do is I'll just copy

time. So, what I'll do is I'll just copy whichever hook I like, and I'll go to this drop down here, and then I'll choose reels, and then I'll simply just paste it in, and then I say never ever

ever. So, I'll just type never ever ever

ever. So, I'll just type never ever ever like this, and then we can play a little bit with the sizing and color. So, I'll

just make this a green color, kind of like this one here, because this is a reel that I made for my new edit Instagram, where the color branding is this green color, but you can choose

whatever you want. So, then I'll just sync it to the audio. So, I'll just listen for it. I say never here, and then ever again here, and then I'll just make a cut here, and then just delete

all of this here. What I think will look good is I'll go to the last overview.

I'll just add a dot like this here and then we'll just make this dot. You can

see. What we'll do is we'll just press on this fusion icon. Then we'll just right click in this space here. This

character level styling. Highlight the

dot, go into the modifiers and then just make it a green color like the one we had before and this looks pretty good.

And what I actually would like to do for this here is I'll make these shakes. So

in the motion essentials pack now I'm using quite a lot of different packs right now. But you can also make this

right now. But you can also make this manual. Yeah, this just streamlines my

manual. Yeah, this just streamlines my workflow so I can edit a lot faster. So

I'll just grab the shake transition here and then just make it a lot shorter like 15 frames [music] or something. And you

see we get a nice shake and then just turn down the overall strength by a lot and we could actually make it out only for the first one here like that and then we'll just take this and increase the length a little bit and this one

we'll be do in out and then we'll just copy one more for the last ever like this and then we'll just reset this one and reset this one which basically means we give a different shape and then just increase the strength a little bit on

this one and increase it a little bit more on this one as well. This looks

good. And then it says build captions manually. So here we'll find another

manually. So here we'll find another hook. So I'll just go into the stylist

hook. So I'll just go into the stylist hooks here again and for this I will be using one of the stop motion hook. Love

this one here. I'll just copy this one, go into the right project and [music] then we'll type build captions and we'll just move this a little bit more to the left like this. Captions manually

manually. And we can add this like this here. And for the stop motion one here,

here. And for the stop motion one here, I don't want to be using this color. I

would like to do the shine effect again so we'll just go into effects here and go [music] to new edit and then I'll just go to caption creator here and then I'll just grab the shine and I'll just

turn off the drop shadow on this one here like that and change the color to the green color we used before everything like this here and then I just move the shine so it looks right like this here. And then we'll just make

the timing work like that. And then it says again here, so I'll just make another slider like this. I'll just type again. Honestly, why don't we just grab

again. Honestly, why don't we just grab this one here? Already have this timing and then type again exactly like this.

And then just size it down a little bit.

Looks good. And then we'll be placing the DaVinci Resolve logo over here. So,

I'll just import DaVinci Resolve logo and then I can see here yeah that I saved DaVinci Resolve right here. So,

I'll just add it there and then just zoom out a little bit. And you can of course animate this manually, but I'll use the new atom from the Motion Essentials pack because it just makes it a little bit faster. So, I'll just go to

back here, find new atom and then we can grab the new atom and then we can animate the position and make it come from the left. So, we'll make it 180 here and just drag up the offset a

little bit. So, we'll just make it the

little bit. So, we'll just make it the right size and placement first and we'll of course only make it animate in. So,

with the target we can place it right here. I think it'd be good. And then we

here. I think it'd be good. And then we can add to angle animation as well. So,

the target angle will be something like this here. And honestly, the the

this here. And honestly, the the animation here already look pretty good.

So, now let's just go ahead and take a look at it real quick.

Honestly, it looks really good so far.

So, what we could be doing is we can add a little bit of a zoom in here. And with

this here we can be using either you can grab the You can either be using the new [music] zoom from the Motion Essentials pack or you can use the new zoom light from the starter pack which is completely free. So, I'll just use the

completely free. So, I'll just use the new zoom light here and then we can see we get a clean zoom in. So, then I'll just change the end zoom to 1.2 or something. And that's maybe a bit too

something. And that's maybe a bit too much. Maybe 1.14. Let's do that and that

much. Maybe 1.14. Let's do that and that looks good. And then we'll just zoom out

looks good. And then we'll just zoom out at We can just go here and change like this here. And then I'm just going to

this here. And then I'm just going to grab one of my film burns. I'll just

take this one here that I have in my power bins. So, what we will do is we'll

power bins. So, what we will do is we'll just drag up the speed like that and change the composite mode to screen. And

then we'll just add the part where there's most light if that makes sense.

So here I'm going to just press an M on the keyboard and then it will add a marker and we'll just add this above and that's basically it. Now we're going to make this super clean counter that counts up cuz this will symbolize that

you are wasting a lot of time if that makes sense. So we will make this from

makes sense. So we will make this from scratch using Adam Curve and some custom controls. This is a little bit more on

controls. This is a little bit more on the advanced side but if you follow along you'll definitely be able to get it. Let's just get it right into it. So

it. Let's just get it right into it. So

we'll just grab a Text Plus here like this and add it to the timeline. Then

we'll just ramp into [music] Fusion and now we're going to make a bunch of different custom controls. So the way we're going to do this is we'll just right click on the size and press edit control and we'll type [music] some different things. So the first one is

different things. So the first one is the start minutes so that we'll just paste into the ID here and then we will want it to be a number. We want it to be on the tech date. We want it to be

animatable and the default value should be zero and we check on this checkbox that says integer. If you don't know what a integer means it's basically meaning that it's a full number. It

can't be a decimal number so it can't be 1.1. It can only be 1 2 3 or 4 or

1.1. It can only be 1 2 3 or 4 or whatever and the range should be 0 to 60 because 60 minutes in 1 hour and yeah then we want it to be a slider control

and no center no steps. So we'll just press on okay and then just right click on the start minute and we'll type end minutes here instead and just replace it with this start minutes and then there comes another control and then we'll

just make one that says minute [music] we'll just make one that's called value minutes like this here and then we'll just make one for start hours and this

will be 24 because there's 24 hours in 1 day and this will be a slider control like that and we'll just make one more so right we'll just make one more so right click press on edit control and

then we'll make one called end hours like this here and then press okay one more time and then we'll make this hour value hours like this and just press okay and we're pretty much done now. So

the value hours and value minutes is where we're going to be adding the atom curve. So, let's just start off with the

curve. So, let's just start off with the minute. We'll press on We'll just right

minute. We'll press on We'll just right click cuz modify with atom and choose atom curve. And the way that atom curves

atom curve. And the way that atom curves work is they basically count throughout the length of the clip and they'll just animate throughout the time, if that [music] makes sense. So, we'll change

the source to duration and the curve will be custom. And yeah, the scale is what we're going to be using the start hours and start minutes and end minutes for um so, we'll just right click and

then we'll write an expression. So, this

is also a little bit more on the advanced side, but what these expressions here we're basically referencing these here and we can do uh mathematical equations. So, the way that

mathematical equations. So, the way that we're referencing the start minutes or end minutes, we'll use the end minutes for now, is we have the name of the node here, which is called template and then

we'll press on the dot and now we're going to name the specific [music] control. So, the specific control is the

control. So, the specific control is the end is the here [music] end minutes and the end minutes is on zero. So, if we add this to 11, you can see it jumps up to 11 and then we'll just press minus

cuz we're going to subtract the end minutes with the start [music] minutes, like this. And then we'll just copy this expression here. Then we'll

just copy this the last part of the expression, which is the start minute, and make an expression of the offset and make the start minute. This allow us to So, if we do something like you want it

to be on 20 minutes at the beginning and 11 at the end, you can see it counts down to 11, the end value. And later

we're going to be referencing [music] this on the text right up here. So, this

was the minutes. Now, we'll do the exact same thing [music] for the hours. So,

we'll press modify with atom curves and the modifiers and we'll [music] just do the same thing, custom curve So, we'll just press on duration here, making a custom curve. And for the scale, we'll

custom curve. And for the scale, we'll be changing [music] it to We can just go up here, copy the minutes here, like this, scroll down and paste it in. And

then, where it says minutes, we'll just replace that with hours. Like that. And

like this. And just remember to add the minus. And then, just [music] copy the

minus. And then, just [music] copy the end like this here. And paste it here as well. And now, the end, we can [music]

well. And now, the end, we can [music] make the start hours this. And now, it works exactly as we want it to work. So,

now I made a custom expression we'll be using [music] in the text box here to display this. Because if we just make a

display this. Because if we just make a normal expression, let me just show you.

So, we'll type value minutes. Dot dot. Which dot dot is

value minutes. Dot dot. Which dot dot is just to [music] separate the values. And

then, value hours. And we can maybe add like a separator like this. As you can see, when it gets below 10, there's no zero before. But with this expression

zero before. But with this expression here, it basically allow us to add a zero before. So, the references isn't

zero before. So, the references isn't completely right. It's not called HH

completely right. It's not called HH value. Because this is expression I used

value. Because this is expression I used earlier when I did the practice for this video [music] before recording. But I'll

just replace this. So, I'll type value hours. And then, value minutes. And

hours. And then, value minutes. And

then, just paste that in. And you can see, it look exactly as we want it to look. And we'll just change the font to

look. And we'll just change the font to the Text Ext Sans. And you can find that on Google if you want that exact font as well. But now, we have made this really

well. But now, we have made this really cool-looking counter. And I'll just size

cool-looking counter. And I'll just size it up quite a lot. That's

[laughter] a little too much. But as you should be good. So, what I'm saying here is I'll

good. So, what I'm saying here is I'll say we'll spend hours on something that takes 10 minutes to presets. So, what

we're going to show is it will count up.

And then, when it says take 10 minutes to presets, we'll make it count down to 10 minutes. So, we'll just go into

10 minutes. So, we'll just go into fusion here. And then, we are basically

fusion here. And then, we are basically going to change this here to it counts up from 3 minutes, for example, to 6 36.

And the start hours [music] will be zero. And then, sorry, the start hours

zero. And then, sorry, the start hours will be zero. And the end hours will be 4 hours. Let's do that. And then, we'll

4 hours. Let's do that. And then, we'll make the curve. We'll make it go something like this here. And we'll do the exact same thing for the minutes.

Like that. Perfect. That looks great.

So, if we want to, we can, of course, just go ahead and add a nice looking dancer. We'll just go into effects and

dancer. We'll just go into effects and then I'll grab the new giant shader again and then just make it the green color we like to use we also used before this one here and then we just write

some text under as I did before what's minute and hours and then I'll just this one down instead of a space I'll make it a tap and then we can easily move this over like this and once we figure out

the place. Now we'll just add another

the place. Now we'll just add another text and tap [music] minutes here and hours over here. So

we'll just add text here and like this and then we just tap hours and then tap and minutes min and then I'll just place it so the hours here and then I'll just drag this one over a little bit like

this and the font I'll be using this called [music] enter this one here and then let's just make it a regular and size it down a little bit like this.

This looks good and then we can just go into settings here drag it down a little bit like this and here it starts saying 10 minutes I will just make a cut and then go in here to fusion we'll just go

to the template here go to modify and then just press invert so now it just counts down instead and we'll do the exact same for minutes and then we'll just go ahead and make the start minutes

10 it and then you can see counts down to 10 minutes. So if we take a look it counts up and then counts down to 10 minutes. So now we're going to be adding

minutes. So now we're going to be adding some screen footage showing because I'm talking about key framing over it. So

now we'll make some screen footage symbolize in that I'll just import that media and then I've already cut up the media pretty much so what we'll be doing is you can see here I'll just drag it

over a little bit maybe zoom it out a little bit as well and drag down like this and then we'll just where the end and that right here and then we'll just go to right click on this footage here speed it up then press on retime

controls and we just go to the top [music] right here and then just load it down a bunch like this here. I'll just

delete this audio and then we'll just drag over here and then just decrease wait it's over here actually and that's good. Now we'll just press on this here

good. Now we'll just press on this here and then we can simply now we'll press on the this here to de-link the footage from the audio and then we just highlight all of it and drag it above this and just drag down again. So, we

have the green recording under. Then,

I'm just going to make this a compound clip and then we drag it up and then we'll just add it up here like this [music] and we can take the cropping tool and then just drag the bottom up

quite a lot something like this here and this is pretty good. And then over here now now over here it says now you can just drag and drop taking a preset and then just drag it into onto the timeline. So, I'll just copy this and

timeline. So, I'll just copy this and then it says change the text. We'll go

here and then just zoom over to where we can see changing the text like this and then we'll just have to drag down a little bit like this and maybe zoom in so we can see it more clearly like this and then it says you're done. So, and

we'll when it says you're done we just make it show this and if we zoom in a bit we can see here we get the animation. So, now we'll just add

animation. So, now we'll just add captions for the last part here and the caption I'm going to be using is just a normal slide up word captioning. [music]

So, we'll just go to effects here and then we can go to the caption creator pack. It's not a effects or it's titles

pack. It's not a effects or it's titles and then we'll go to caption creator and then just choose word glider and this will give us a super clean word and slide up. So, here we'll just above this

slide up. So, here we'll just above this here well every caption reading is at this height here and then we'll just make [music] it say you will you will spend hours and we'll just have to size

it down quite a lot like this. I think

this should be pretty good so like 0.13 and then the tracking always I usually when I'm doing the these captions here you can see if tracking is on one there's quite a lot of space between the letters. I don't really like this look

letters. I don't really like this look for the most part so I'll just drag the tracking down quite a lot like this gives it a really nice look and it's a little bit too fast so we'll just go to the follow and then just drag up the delay a little bit like this and that's

pretty good. And then we just hold all

pretty good. And then we just hold all and drag it over and then type on on something. And honestly, you see this

something. And honestly, you see this counter here what I'd actually do and honestly, I'll just drag it up a little bit like this here so it's just right under and then just copy this here and just add it to the one that counts down

right after. And this one should say on

right after. And this one should say on something and that and then here it should say 10 minute and then it says with presets. What we could also do is

with presets. What we could also do is you could make it like a regular version here. That that is probably looking a

here. That that is probably looking a little bit better um in [music] my opinion simply because this um counter here is is really built in the look. So, if you [music] make it

the look. So, if you [music] make it regular, it's it's just a little bit more balanced image if that makes sense.

Honestly, could probably I drag up the counter just [music] a little bit more in my opinion. Oh, yeah, this is a little bit better like this. So, this

text here we'll just drag right up in the gap here. Let's take key and then I say key framing every word hand by hand hand by hand in every project. So, let's

just take a look. Looks good. So, then

it says now you can just just drag [music] and drop change the text change the text and you're done. And then what I usually have is like a CTA at the end.

So, for the CTA, what I usually do is I have in the caption creator pack in the stylized hooks project there's some stylized CTAs that we can use. I'll just

go to the stylized hooks here and then we have this one here which I really like. We can also grab one of the other

like. We can also grab one of the other ones like this shine one here, but my favorite is is this one top motion. I

really like these presets. So, since the branding we already using, I'll just go to this one here with the caption styling where we have added the shine shader. Copy that, go to this one, click

shader. Copy that, go to this one, click on alt or option on Mac and then V and then we'll just paste the fusion effects perfect like that. And you can see it looks weird, but if we drag down the drop shadow, looks good. And then just

[music] type caption captions and maybe size down a little bit to make sure we're in the safe zone. Here we are. So,

I made this like safe zone guides here um so we know where the sensor is, where the sides is basically. Um and then we say I will send you the link and for that part and then we can actually use

the one we used in the intro [music] here like the hook here. So, I'll just go here up here all of these, paste it.

And then also I will and I will send it your way, like that. And

[music] this you can actually change to another really cool font, which is called Playfair Display. And then just size it

Playfair Display. And then just size it up a little bit like this. And I will also change this one to Playfair and just size it up a little bit. And I

think the zoom in in the beginning here is too slow, so I'll just And this this is a lot better. But now let's just go ahead and take a look at it real quick.

This looks really good. Zoom light here.

Size it over here. So, you get a nice zoom in here as well. And well, this looks really good. So, now we'll just do like final touches. We can of course like copy this little burn here to when we go from this to this here. And we can

also add it at the end here if we want to. And well, now we'll just add a

to. And well, now we'll just add a couple of sound effects and some audio.

So, I'll just go to my power bends here.

Got a sound effect and we have some camera shutters. [music] So, here we got

camera shutters. [music] So, here we got the camera shutter and the camera shutter I'm basically using for this right here. Add like a camera shutter

right here. Add like a camera shutter sound effect also on this light leak and on the last light leak as well. And this

here is a nice counter. So, when it counts up it's like a gear sound effect.

And all these sound effects I'm using here is from Epidemic Sound. So, if you want to get these sound effects, you can check them out at Epidemic Sound's website. And then I'll just copy the

website. And then I'll just copy the counter here as well. Perfect. And also

some nice whooshes. So, this whoosh here I'll just down like [music] this at this the beginning of the intro zoom. And we

could also add like this camera shutter to the beginning and to this shake here like this. And then we get a zoom in

like this. And then we get a zoom in here, so we will also add like a whoosh sound. Perfect. Well, that's basically

sound. Perfect. Well, that's basically the sound design. Now, if we have any music, we can add that. So, I have some I have a a lot of different music again from Epidemic Sound here. So, I'll just

grab one of the ones I like. Adding

visuals, adding captions, adding zooms, everything. So, now let's just go ahead

everything. So, now let's just go ahead and check out the final result. Never,

ever, ever do captions manually in DaVinci Resolve again. You'll spend

hours on something that takes 10 minutes with presets. Keyframing every word hand

with presets. Keyframing every word hand by hand in every project. Now, you can just drag and drop, change the text, and you're done. Comment captions and I'll

you're done. Comment captions and I'll send it your way. And that's it. My

exact workflow for clean, high-quality reels in no time. Everything I used today is linked down in the description, including the full stack bundle. If you
