Hi, my name is Evie and welcome to another video where I teach you English.
I am here in my bathroom. I have a coffee with me.
This is an iced latte with creamer. Anyway, it's like a sweet
with creamer. Anyway, it's like a sweet iced coffee.
And we are going to be doing my makeup today. I'm going to get my makeup out.
today. I'm going to get my makeup out.
My skin is like it's a bit dry. So, I'm
going to put down just a little bit of moisturizer like a little bit. At the moment, I am using
this moisturizer.
This is the I don't I don't actually know this brand or like if it is a good brand. It's very, very light.
brand. It's very, very light.
It's very, very light and I like that.
I'm also going to put on some lip balm.
This is the Lipsyl [laughter] Lipsyl original lip balm. I got this lip balm in Sweden.
lip balm. I got this lip balm in Sweden.
It's the best lip balm ever, I swear.
Lipsyl.
It's the best.
And so, I wanted to film this video because I filmed a learn English with my makeup
routine video.
And I think it was the second video that I ever uploaded on this channel. And
honestly, it has blown up recently.
Like I think it now has 800,000 views.
But I think the video is bad. Like I was so nervous in that video. And like
when I watch it, I cringe so much because I was terrified. I had my phone, I'm like I'm like this.
Hi guys, and welcome. I'm going to film a video about how I do my makeup.
And it's I just hate it.
I thought I should film like an updated makeup routine. I also am using new
makeup routine. I also am using new products now like I used different things. Now I use a foundation stick
things. Now I use a foundation stick basically every single time that I do my makeup.
And I use this one.
It's a foundation stick. So you can see it's like a it's like a like a stick of foundation, right? And
the first thing I do is I put this on my skin. I put it on my cheeks and my forehead.
My chin and my nose like this. And I blend it
with my hands. So with my fingers.
I love this foundation because I I have never really worn foundation. Um
I don't I don't like really heavy makeup. I do not like lots and lots of
makeup. I do not like lots and lots of foundation on me. I just don't like it on me. And I wanted to buy a foundation
on me. And I wanted to buy a foundation because I I'm on camera a lot, right?
YouTuber.
Um so I wanted something to make my skin look a little bit more even.
And I went I spoke to my sister who is a makeup artist and she is a genius. She
knows so much, but she told me to try Charlotte Tilbury and I did and I love it, but it is so
expensive. I think this cost me like 60
expensive. I think this cost me like 60 euros or something.
OMG, I'm now going to do my eyes. So,
I recently moved from the UK to Canada and I forgot my eyeshadow.
So, I'm using this one.
This is also by Charlotte Tilbury, but it's a really really small it's a really small palette, right? This
is my eyeshadow palette. There's only
like four colors. 1 2 3 4.
four colors. 1 2 3 4.
And they're quite light. Generally,
like usually, I tend to like really dark makeup um on my eyes, but I don't have a really dark eyeshadow color.
So, I'm entering my like clean girl era.
[snorts] I usually like having quite dark makeup because my eyes are set quite deep in my head.
This is not like a good thing or a bad thing. It's just a fact, right?
thing. It's just a fact, right?
But, from the side, my eyes go quite far back in my head, right?
And for some reason, I like it when they look really dark.
Like I think it suits me. It looks
better on my face. Like naturally,
that's just how my face is. And I think it's better to go with that, kind of continue with the deep set. I'm now putting
deep set. I'm now putting this brown color here.
Like, there, on the corner.
I'm going to do my eyeliner.
So, I use this eyeliner here. It's brown. You can see it's not
here. It's brown. You can see it's not black, it's brown. And this is the L'Oréal Paris
Le Khôl Naturel by Paradise.
[laughter] Actually, guys, um I moved to Canada I think 1 month ago.
And I'm trying I'm trying to learn French.
But, this eyeliner, you can see I have used it so much, it is blunt.
The end, oops.
The end of it, there is nothing there.
It's blunt. It's not sharp, it's blunt.
Right?
And yes, I actually have been using that on my eye.
But, it started literally being painful. So,
painful. So, I bought a sharpener. I bought this today. This was 10 Canadian dollars.
today. This was 10 Canadian dollars.
That is a rip-off. I'm going to sharpen it.
a rip-off. I'm going to sharpen it.
Amazing.
And now, it is sharp again. For my eyeliner, I do a line over the top, right by my
lash line. And then,
lash line. And then, I draw a little bit of a wing kind of straight out like this.
And then, I put it in my lash line on the bottom. So, here.
the bottom. So, here.
Ready?
And right now, it's like a mess, right?
It looks bad.
Bad, literally bad.
Wait.
And this is the This is the best bit.
[laughter] I go like this, and I just smudge it.
I am going to add mascara, right? This
is a This is mascara.
Okay? I will add it later, but right now, I I'm going to do my skin
again. I always always always, for my
again. I always always always, for my concealer, use this one. This is the
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.
And you can see this thing is empty.
Like There is There is nothing in this. It is empty empty empty. So, today, I went and I I
empty empty. So, today, I went and I I tried to buy the same one in the same shade, but the colors here are slightly different. So,
different. So, I think I matched it. So, the one that I bought, this is in the shade 10 fair
pale.
So, my skin is fair and pale, right? I'm
not I'm not very tanned. I'm quite pale.
By the way, if you are from a country where being pale is like
a beauty standard, it's considered beautiful.
In the UK, [laughter] somebody like me might not love it if you tell them that they are pale.
Um [laughter] because we all want to be tan, right?
So, if you see somebody that looks If you say to someone, "You look pale."
somebody will think, "Oh my god, am I sick?" So, if you want to tell somebody
sick?" So, if you want to tell somebody that their skin is very light and you like it, you want like a positive word for pale, go for fair.
So, pale is like, "You look pale. Are
you going to faint?" You know? But, fair is like
faint?" You know? But, fair is like light and beautiful.
If you think that, right? I really hope this is the right color.
I'm going to put it on my under eye. You
can see the shadows under my eyes because I work too much as a YouTuber and I put Oh, no.
I think that's too dark.
Oh, no.
Damn it.
I just put this under my eye and on any like spots that I have.
Oh.
I think this is too dark for me.
Maybe it's okay.
Does it look good?
I'm going to blend it in.
And blend it. I'm going to blend it under my eye.
I don't think it looks bad.
Actually.
I also wanted to answer some questions while we are here. So, I asked over on my I have like an online school for
learning English where I have like English courses and stuff. It's linked
in the description, but I asked over there if anybody has any questions and I also asked on my Instagram as well. I
have had a couple questions in my school about like sayings and expressions and slang in English. Nikolai says, "Do you
really say it's raining cats and dogs?"
So, if you don't know this phrase, this is a phrase in English that exists to describe um rain. Like when it's raining really
rain. Like when it's raining really really heavily, we say, "Oh, it's raining cats and dogs out there. It's
raining cats and dogs. It's raining
really heavily." And um this is a phrase that exists in English.
Do I use it and would I say that? No. Um
honestly, if it was raining really heavily, I would probably say it's pissing it down.
Which is maybe a bit rude, but that is exactly what I would say. If it's
raining really heavy, you say, "It's pissing it down out there." Like it's raining really heavy. Is that something that people really say? Yes, some people
will say that. It's not, you know, unheard of that somebody would use that phrase, but don't worry about it too much
because most people will probably say, "It's raining really heavily." or "It's pissing it down."
I'm now going to do my blush.
And recently, I bought the Road Pocket Blush. And I know that this is such a
Blush. And I know that this is such a trendy product. Like, I think I was
trendy product. Like, I think I was influenced into buying this because everyone was using it on my social media. But, I bought this one. This is
media. But, I bought this one. This is
in the shade Sleepy Girl. And it's this really
Sleepy Girl. And it's this really pretty, like, it's this really pretty muted pink. And I thought the color was so
pink. And I thought the color was so nice because I used to like using my lipstick on my cheeks.
And I think this one is basically the same It has the same tones as the lipstick that I used to put on my cheeks. I just
dot a couple dots here and some on my nose as well. And then, again
as well. And then, again my whole makeup kit is my hands.
I blend it out. I blend it out with my fingers on my cheekbones.
And I go up to my temple. These are your temples here.
You know that soft bit in your skull here? This is your temple. And I blend
here? This is your temple. And I blend it up to my temples as well. And I just think that is so pretty.
I also add some bronzer, not too much. I
use the Hoola Beauty Hoola I use the I use the Benefit bronzer, the Hoola bronzer. This is like a classic, and
bronzer. This is like a classic, and mine is, honestly, she is so old. Like, she is old old old.
So [laughter] I get some on this brush and I just put this on my cheeks and on my forehead.
In my school, Adamando asked, "What has been your biggest challenge while living in Canada over these past few weeks?" Um,
few weeks?" Um, I think the biggest I've had two challenges. One has been a work
challenges. One has been a work challenge um, and the other one has been like a personal challenge.
Um, the biggest challenge for me has been the time zone difference.
Because I spent, you know, since I I started working as an English teacher over a year ago and I was really lucky that I was able to
build really strong a really strong relationship with lots of students.
Um, and then I changed platform. So, I used to work for a company and then I set up my own
teaching website because my YouTube was doing well.
And then I moved to Canada and unfortunately the time difference has made it really difficult for me to work with some of my my old students
because I used to work with a lot of professionals over in East Asia. And
lots of people like to study English as part of their Monday to Friday 9:00 to 5:00. So, I would have classes with all
5:00. So, I would have classes with all of my students in the evenings during the week. But, because of the time
the week. But, because of the time difference, I can't do that because it's like 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 a.m. for me. And
that means that unfortunately I have lost some students.
[laughter] And that's so sad. I I miss everybody.
Um you know, I was very invested in my students. The other challenge has been
students. The other challenge has been making friends here. So, because I work online,
I do not have co-workers. So, it has been quite difficult to meet people, but I've started meeting
some people this week. Um I really put myself out there, we say, and introduced myself to people and tried to make friends. So, I'm hoping the friend
friends. So, I'm hoping the friend situation will get better. Maybe I could film a video about this, but yeah, that is challenging, especially
because I feel like I'm quite introverted as a person.
The next thing that I'm going to use is powder. And actually,
powder. And actually, I have never used powder before.
I just literally would put concealer and foundation, and I would not set it. So,
you set it with powder, right? You make
it stay.
Um so, I finally listened to my sister and her advice and bought a powder. My
sister told me to buy a really expensive powder.
And I did not do that. I bought this one. This was the Revlon blurring
one. This was the Revlon blurring PhotoReady powder in the shade fair, and it looks like
this.
Oh, and it has a little brush.
You can see there's a little brush.
Let me I don't even know how to apply this, to be honest. I'm going to just
be honest. I'm going to just I'm going to tap this in here. I'm going
to tap off the excess, so the extra, and then I'm going to put that under my eye.
Do I look photo ready?
I actually I do not do anything to my eyebrows.
Um because my eyebrows are brown and my hair is blonde.
Um so I feel like my eyebrows already look quite dark on my face.
For mascara I use the Clinique High Impact Mascara.
This is the best.
And I curl my lashes with my finger.
I curl them up like this.
And then I put my mascara on.
And I mostly focus on the outside corner, like here.
And I also put mascara on my bottom lashes. The last thing that I do is
lashes. The last thing that I do is lipstick. And I always always always use
lipstick. And I always always always use the Clinique Black Honey um sheer lipstick. But I cannot find it
right now and I don't know if it's in like a random bag somewhere. So I'm going to use the
bag somewhere. So I'm going to use the Rhode Pocket Blush again because the color is similar.
Sometimes I will add a lip gloss. This
is another Rhode product that I was like influenced [laughter] into buying. This is the Rhode Peptide
into buying. This is the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment.
And I will I do recommend the pocket blush. I love this.
blush. I love this.
I do not love the lip gloss because this is maybe just a me thing, but my hair gets like stuck on my lips and I
hate it, but I will put it on sometimes.
And it smells so good.
It smells like um caramel and it's delicious. I also will do my
delicious. I also will do my hair.
Um I've not done my hair today or I've not styled my hair today because I have hair straighteners, but I cannot find the like
the thing. Hang on.
the thing. Hang on.
Okay, I found the the thing. This is
This thing is a adapter. So, this is like a This is for a British plug and this is for a an American or like
Canadian plug. So, I need that and then
plug. So, I need that and then I can use my straighteners.
Americans call these bangs, which is also it's also quite a common word to use in the UK because our English is getting like a little bit
Americanized. I have
Americanized. I have kind of a weird hairline because this side here, this always looks really good and this is my good
side.
Whenever I have thumbnails, it's always this side.
But this side my hair, you can see it grows up, right?
It goes woo.
And this has a really cute name, actually. We call it a cow's lick. Like
actually. We call it a cow's lick. Like
a cow has licked you. Like literally
licked your hair.
And I have one of those. So, I have a cow's lick here.
And it's really difficult to fix.
But, what I've been doing recently is I take my hair.
So, I take it here.
I take my straighteners and I curl it away from my face.
And like bear with me, cuz I curled that too much. But, I curl it away.
too much. But, I curl it away.
OMG.
That looks shite.
Okay, this looks Let me Let me fix it.
What the Oh my god.
Like What is that?
I swear normally this works. No
Normally this works. Ew.
But, hey look, the cow's lick has gone.
This is but this has been fixed.
Um I'm going to take that bit and I'm going to I'm going to curl it. I'm going to try and hold it like this and hopefully when
it gets cooler it will stay. Meanwhile, one more question.
Also, in my school Leona asked, "It's not about English, but what is your secret to be productive?"
[laughter] I always amaze when you show in your videos that you start working at 7:00 a.m. for example.
a.m. for example.
And you work for yourself. So, how do you organize your day? Please give
advice for a very lazy person. I do work for myself and I have like a crazy routine. Like I'm always very very
routine. Like I'm always very very organized.
And um honestly, I am really organized because of to-do lists. Let me show you.
to-do lists. Let me show you.
On my iPad, I have a to-do list like every single day.
I also have a to-do list for the week and also for the month. So, every month I will have like some long-term goals
that I'm working working towards and I think that's how I get things done. I
also honestly, I drink a lot of coffee.
But honestly, I think what helps me be productive is the fact that I like I literally love my job. Learning
languages is literally I'm so passionate about it and I'm so passionate about being a teacher and I'm really passionate about making these videos and
I just really believe in what I do and I really love to do it. So,
honestly, I think that helps because I don't really feel like I'm working a lot of the time.
Anyway, let me go somewhere with better lighting and I can show you the final look because you're in my bathroom. This is a This is a lamp. It's
bathroom. This is a This is a lamp. It's
because the lighting in here is bad. I
think the lighting is better in here.
But this is my final makeup look. Anyway, hopefully you enjoyed this
look. Anyway, hopefully you enjoyed this video and you learned something. Um if
you are interested in joining my online school, I'm going to link it down below.
We have a book club, we have lots of courses as well so that you can self-study in English and move from intermediate to advanced. We also have
speaking events if you want to practice speaking, but I would love to see you there. And anyway, I look forward to
there. And anyway, I look forward to seeing you guys in the next video. Bye.
