instead we will focus more on sort of a uh swad type of uh session it will be for half an
hour now formally I think we will start twice in a week and if according to the interest of the
participants we will think about uh making more days and uh
uh we will start with so let us start so as of now I think
I'll will be reading the the text is taken as the basic reference text here with
its uh Arun and HEI commentary as required we will go through the commentaries as H
so you may keep the mics Switched Off muted and we will start basically we will be going through
the text and assignment required we will be explaining more aspects ad so the context
is and we are starting with the chapter called this is the second chapter in this Stan everyone knows we had
one before this uh and inam we find certain
crucial aspects regarding the concept of STI especially as every ayic student should
conceive it in the very beginning itself that is very important because then only we can go to the other midana
chapters this is very important in the so first of all let me tell you that we will not cover certain number of sloas in a particular day that is not
mandatory this is a very informal type of session so as and when required we will go to other areas or other chapters
and everything so coming back the most crucial or most important idea that the chapter
[Music] S was communicating to the learner is that there are certain points it is
about the n n is the context and this nanam is a word which is used in two different at
least two different meanings number one is just to mention about
the list of list of for a particular vadi for example if you
take uh the maybe we find [Music]
like that so it is a list ofas which initiates the STI so n by word
means that list ofas another one is a broader meaning which
gives or which ref reflex all the elements that is playing
behind the manifestation of a vikara so that contains otherwise it is known as n so there will
be and someti why this learning is important that is also very crucial
because the way in which these things are explained in our textbooks actually that gives
us some sort of an Insight regarding the way in which uh
the STI of a vikara is conceived in a this is very important
because it is a general Trend these days to understand a
vikara using the methodology explained in modern medicine there is no harm in
it but you can't perceive the AIC using that methodology you may be able to
understand the uh vikara with more clarity at least in terms of its
description but while you come to the A n so basically the viya is
doing while engaging in the business of chit two things number one second
is so in this process of we find it in certain areas like [Music] isn't it
[Music] is so that is the most crucial part so the you have to have the sort
of sh that is conceived in AA then only you can understand the Doha similarly only if you understand
the Doha in terms of AIC explanation then only you will be able to understand the or select the come to a proper
decision regarding the a which is to be prescribed in a given context so understanding this nidana in
this way using the Nida is very important so don't skip at least in the
formative time of a clinici while we are learning do not bypass this stage of understanding the samprati in its proper
way so in the first chapter we are getting the basic ideas conceived in aura about all these things in in sutana we have an entry
into that point what is that that entry it is uh in multiple uh layers or multiple levels
but at one point it is very clearly mentioned so that those that second line that means is very very
important that those two lines that also make actually that also makes some sort of a uh signature
statement about how this rogi parika is done in AA and how important it
is actually you see and so in any given situation somebody
is coming to you and asking whether you have got a treatment for a vadi okay I am having see my
uh uh uncle or my distant relative is having increased amount of cholesterol hyper cholesterol do you have a
treatment for hyper cholesterolemia in ayura so he proposes that there is a vikara called hyper cholesterolemia and
asking whether you have a treatment for hyper cholesterolemia in AA so we take it okay there is a
you look for all this of that condition and then you say yes or no but then what is the need of
the so using the tools of and we should examine
the examine the in the rogi so what is the relevance of that rogi Pera we need only the information that hyper
cholesterolemia is there for a person who is not known to us and somebody has come to us with this information and asking whether there is a
treatment and he produced some sort of documents were the fasting liquid profiles done in sequential intervals like every three months in the last one
year is produced and we look at the results and see certain things this is the total cholesterol level this is the fasting triglyceride
levels this is the HDL LDL all these informations are there and we fix okay let this person take this medicine
wrong this is not the way in which ayic treatment is to be performed this is not the way what is the difference
cholesterolemia is a condition okay we consider it as a varara whether it is a swra Viara or not is a different question for at least for the sake of
present explanation we take it as a Viara vadi and we we explain okay this is the medicine you take this for next 3 months and go for another examination
and come up with the results it should not be done that is not the way in which it is to be done with ayura that chika
otherwise is not AA chika why because you have not performed the rogi par so it is not the vikara which is
going to be treated but the person with the vigara is going to be treated
so it is not the person's disease but the person with the disease is the Adar that is important so Mr X with
Hyper cholesterolemia is going to treat to be treated not Mr X or Mr X's hyper
cholesterolemia so that statement which is made in a casual way in some chapters of the
like makes a huge difference as far as the identity of ayura is concerned of course these things are going or getting changed
rapidly in the era of uh this online consultation and T consult ation tele medicine all these things is a different question how far you are able to comply
with these Norms is a different question so that statement is very important then we find some more descriptions about
this Roga par in s I'm just brushing up what we have we are supposed to keep in our minds before coming to the specific chapter called
J so this idea is repeated with more emphasis in what is [Music]
that I used to explain this idea multiple times with the importance of the order in which
these n is explained that is also important and should not be overlooked what is [Music]
that that is the order in which it is explained so we come up with the okay what
is so as I mentioned earlier it is the list of factors sometimes multiple sometimes
single sometimes simple sometimes complex whatever it is it is that those
factor or factors which is capable of influencing the doas in such a way so that they are
departed from their PR and a uh disease process is initiated so anything which is having
that potential can be considered as a nidana and that list of
nidanas is broadly classified into or beautifully classified into
three and the hoga of those three factors almost completely
covers all possible midana factors of all allas that is the beauty of this explanation what is that three
factors so those three factors this is a very beautiful statement and a very bold statement because we find
it as a categorical statement what is that so the author the who documents this his
observation is so convinced about the universality of this statement that is how he is coming up
with a statement [Music] that so that is very bold so it is
a and that comes under the n so the WYA who is treating or who is getting trained to treat should be trained to
look deeply into the nidana factors this is very important again
going back to another verse in sutana which is so uh connected to the concept which we are discussing
now we find certain number of chapters in mastan we find 16 chapters one
is is something like a master key so we we find in the in the nanana one master key and followed by 15 other chapters
and in the 15 chapters in certain areas we find multiple uh diseases explained say for
example in see we find re and Kasam then in [Music] some
or and in chapters like that rajma we find many other diseases by name explained in the same chapter so it is
something like uh certain house certain constructions houses which is have which needs only one key to open the front
door then everything is open whereas in certain other houses you open the front door and you find many rooms each of the rooms require separate
keys so those diseases which are those chapters which contain multiple varas explained should be understood as a house constructed in such a way that
with its key you can get into the house the front door and then you have to use different keys to open the different rooms in the
house and the beauty of this s is that it is a master key with which you can open any front door and any room
explained so uh we may feel that okay there are certain limited number of diseases explained in AA and that is enough to
deal with everything that is true to a good extent but more than that diseases are evolving while I am explaining this at this point
of time again there is a a case new type of J is getting reported in some part of Kerala so
diseases as correctly observed in his certain diseases as they are becoming it is something like the the fashion
statements certain fashion statements become Obsolete and they go back behind to behind curtain whereas new fashion statements
appear on the stage same is the case with the vikara vadis certain oldfashioned diseases they are pushed behind the screen
whereas certain new characters are appearing with the more varieties of presentation more virence of
presentation and everything [Music] so so I think these chapters which are
explained by name in the Nana may not be an outright method to get into the newer diseases and this
idea is very beautifully explained and documented by aaras in different context one such context is the
explanation of [Music] [Music] [Music]
means theam isn't it AC is lingam [Music] in modern medicine we meet with the same
problem also any system of medicine will face this problem so what they do they come up with the revised editions of Med medicine
textbooks maybe every two year every five year and also they release Manual of diagnostic criteria very uh
frequently because so you can't play the same game all the time so what is the strategy
in that is why we are coming up with this sort of master key Concepts we are giving you a master key with which you can get into any house
any construction how is it or why is it or how is it
possible that is the uh theoretical Integrity of ayura is built on certain basic concepts
like that is that is why it is called shash it is not because it is close to my heart it is in this land it is our heritage it is
our tradition so I don't I don't like to say that this is perishable it is not because of such emotional drama but it
is based on certain solid Concepts what is that it is based on certain criteria which is not going to change what is that criteria which is not going to
change everything in the universe is changing so how can you say that certain things are there which is not changing it
isab is not changing [Music] of this is not going to change how this
is based on that is having a nature that it is built upon this
swab it is having a l that it is built upon the swab of
Bas so as the swab of the bhaa is not changing AA can also be considered as shash so that is the key with which we
are operating how is it expressed at one point comments and documents what is
that this is very very important it's very very important which you have to write and number of times and again paste it on your wall of your study room
what is that the samee to the not
but of the involved that is what we saw earlier so that state many
things so what is the reason for the same creating multiple
diseases or how is it possible for a to make maybe a see a k can cause a simple
presentation like a maybe some sort of [Music] a a condition
called and the same or can cause very serious conditions lifethreatening conditions like
or so the same is causing or and the same is causing
or how is this possible it is because of the principle which is capable of driving the K first to bring KOB to the
do and drive it to different sites of manifest its own seat and others seat as well it creates or it generates
so how will you manage that is the master key that is going to be the master key what is the master key statement for that is
[Music] the that is the MRA for any don't waste time rush through the Interventional procedures which is
required demanded by the situation how understand the means theab of the
vikar of thear which is fundamentally the presentations the RBA R gives the identity of the
vikara that is how it is known as or it is it gains a a and
not so understand the so don't put your priority into it try to understand the vikara to the best level possible with
all the presentations given by the rogi and all the observations made by the WYA put it in a very big spreadsheet wherever it is
possible also try to understand the with all all its peculiarities where
it is manifested which which or which which which are involv all those peculiarities then
not that is a beauty so it is not a broad idea about theana but the specific idea about theana
so this is the fundamental idea the MRA that every viya should keep in mind and get practiced
in this is the art that you we all should get trained in in our formative
years how to understand the how to understand or search for the
this and then how to propose or come up with a [Music] proper so this is applicable this is
that is why the Nida is important but it is of course when when you come to the real life situations it is quite complex because many times you
will not be able to track down to the N because you have to ask many questions sometimes the person to whom you ask may
not be able to give you any idea about it sometimes what he gives or she gives need not be the correct idea sometimes he may not be knowing there are certain
situations is explained in such but that is not a case of course it is very distant or it is very concealed
that is why it is called Vina there is nothing possible without a there is a if there is a there is a but this is very
difficult to understand and identify so anyway coming back to our session
there are certain areas which we have to train ourself before jumping into the art of chika engaging in chikitsa so the
first one is nanam so in the context of we will start with that ideas explained in so with this we conclude today so we just
explained started the chapter Janam we looked back into the basic ideas that should be there with us before going to the nidam we explained the importance of
nanam learning nanam as it is conceived in AIC textbooks because that forms the idea where you will be the learner will
be able to explore the a proper DOA Anda for this you should have the Sham explained in the textbooks in your mind
uncondition and also look into the concepts explained at least in three chapters that means and definitely the next one
also so these four chapters I think if you would like to go deep or if you would like to get the maximum out of these
sessions as soon as possible by heart uncondition by heart these four chapters that
means that then I think we can go in a more easy way through thean okay so with that I
[Music] conclude so as of now now we will have our next session on
Saturday and uh based on the interest of the Learners I think we can make it more frequent so wish you all a wonderful day
ahead Namar
