So, Notebook LM just announced a brand new feature, custom infographic styles, available right inside of Notebook LM.
So, let's take a look at what this can do together. To access this new feature,
do together. To access this new feature, you of course want to come into Notebook LM and open up any of your notebooks.
The only change today is to the infographics. So, if you just click on
infographics. So, if you just click on the infographic button, nothing is going to be different. It's just going to automatically generate an infographic for you based on all the information and sources inside your notebook. Instead,
you have to click on this pencil icon right here. And this choose visual
right here. And this choose visual style. This is what is brand new. They
style. This is what is brand new. They
now have 10 preset visual styles here that you can choose between. So, I
thought it would be fun to test out all 10 of them to see how well they work.
So, the notebook I'm working inside of today is all about different types of eclipses, both solar and lunar eclipses.
And I just want to kind of learn more about how they work. So, let's click on the pencil icon. And I'm not going to change most of the settings, but I'm going to give the same prompt for all 10
different styles to compare all of them.
I'll start with sketch note, and I'll paste in here a simple prompt telling it I want to learn how solar eclipses work and why they are so rare. So, while that one is generating, I will do the same
thing, but for each of the different styles.
All right. So, they're all finished now.
You can see all 10 of them right here.
And I renamed them to the name of the style that I used for that infographic.
And there's one more down here. This was
the original one that was created just by clicking on the button. So, sort of the default style without actually choosing one of the styles manually.
Let's take a look at that one first. So,
first thing you'll notice is that this is about both solar and lunar eclipses because when you just click on that button, you can't specify what you want the notebook to be about. It's just
going to use all of the sources over here on the left that are checked off.
So, it's pretty good. And the text on here looks great. Yeah, it just it looks fine, right? But let's actually look at
fine, right? But let's actually look at some of these styles. So, the first one up here is called instructional. So you
can see for this one they kind of take you step by step how a solar eclipse works. I think this would work really
works. I think this would work really well if you need a set of instructions for something like if you're planning something out and you need like step one
2 3 4 5 6. This would work much better for something like that. For instance,
this is my notebook all about how to bake perfect chocolate chip cookies. I
asked it to create an infographic in that instructional style. And this is what it came up with. I mean, this is the perfect use case for it because it shows you step by step how to make
perfect chocolate chip cookies. But
let's return back now to the Eclipse notebook and look at the next infographic style, which is professional. So, this would obviously
professional. So, this would obviously be the ideal style to use if you were creating these infographics for work or some sort of work project. It looks just
very clean, very professional. It's not
using like a bunch of funny styles that, you know, are trending, you know, just very cleancut and professional. I think
something like this should really come to the slide decks as well. I would love to see all of these styles inside of slide deck. Not sure why they're not
slide deck. Not sure why they're not there yet, but I'm sure that will be coming down the line. Anyway, let's move along now to the next style, which is
sketch. This one, I have to say, is one
sketch. This one, I have to say, is one of my favorites. I just think it looks so good. I just love this sketch style
so good. I just love this sketch style so much. Just something very kind of
so much. Just something very kind of gritty and authentic about it and it's just really fun visually to look at. So,
obviously the idea behind this one is that it looks like this is more handdrawn. Moving along, the next one we
handdrawn. Moving along, the next one we have is called scientific. Let's take a look at this one. This one reminds me of science class, right? Like my science
textbook when I was in high school.
Everything's sort of laid out scientifically. We even have like a
scientifically. We even have like a little scale down here. This sort of visual layout of the tilt of the moon in relation to Earth, a magnifying glass
here. So, I think for a lot of
here. So, I think for a lot of educational content, this is going to be the ideal style. The next one that we have is called Kawaii. I also think that this one is going to be one of my
favorites. Uh it's just a really fun
favorites. Uh it's just a really fun style. I had made a video a few weeks
style. I had made a video a few weeks ago talking about how to create incredible infographics with Notebook LM and I actually talked about how you can create these styles yourself before
Notebook LM even announced they were going to make this feature and that was one of the styles I had in there. There
it is. And I just it's such a fun style.
Um obviously not the most professional but I think in a lot of use cases it really does work and kind of just lightens up the mood quite a bit. Next
though, we have anime. Another one. I
keep saying this, but another one that I think I'm really going to like. I just
really like all these different styles.
They really are a lot of fun. So, in
this case, they actually gave each of the elements or like the sun and the moon like an anime character, which is really cool to see. So, here's the sun and here's the moon as a character and
the moon's casting a shadow on the earth. just really cool and visually
earth. just really cool and visually just such a nice looking style and again just really really fun. Okay, a few more styles to get through here. But before
we do that, if you're enjoying this video so far, do me a quick favor, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel. Like I said, I was talking
channel. Like I said, I was talking about infographic styles long before Notebook LM ever announced that they were going to do it themselves. So, if
you always want to stay on top of the latest Notebook LM tips and tricks just like that, make sure you definitely subscribe to the channel. Next up, we have the style called Clay. This is what
it looks like. Really nice. Another funl
looking style. And we also have editorial. I was very curious about what
editorial. I was very curious about what this one would look like. And it's very close, I think, to sketch in many ways.
But it does have that sort of old newspaper type look. Even like the staining right here just looks really, really well done. Sort of like there's
like a stain and blotting on the paper as well. Just the edges as well. Kind of
as well. Just the edges as well. Kind of
that old look to it, which looks really nice. And we also have Bento Grid, which
nice. And we also have Bento Grid, which I guess is sort of supposed to be like a bento box. I don't know if this is
bento box. I don't know if this is really my favorite. I think there are other styles that look nicer, but it is sort of nice the way it's blocked off into these different sections right
here. Just very neat and clean and
here. Just very neat and clean and organized. And the last style is called
organized. And the last style is called bricks. So, obviously, if you have a kid
bricks. So, obviously, if you have a kid or if you're an adult who loves Legos, this is going to be the style for you.
So, looking at all of them, I think there's a great style for anyone out there, depending on what your preferences are. Personally, I really
preferences are. Personally, I really like Sketch. I think I'm going to end up
like Sketch. I think I'm going to end up using Sketch a lot. I think it's a good balance between both being fun and professional enough to actually be able to use it. Something like Kauaii is
definitely really fun, but I can't see myself using it in, you know, like professional settings or in a lot of my videos. And anime is also really fun,
videos. And anime is also really fun, but I think that's like a very specific style for a very specific group of people, which I think will work really well in some situations. But overall,
again, my favorite I think is Sketch. I
think it just works in the broadest range of different situations. But the
cool thing is that you don't have to choose. You can choose in the moment
choose. You can choose in the moment whatever style that you want because we have 10 great ones that are now available to us. Now, one thing that sort of has me scratching my head is
that when Notebook LM announced this new update, they also said that we will have the ability to create our own styles,
but I don't see a way to do that. And
inside the video, there's no explanation as well. So, in the meantime, let me
as well. So, in the meantime, let me show you a workaround. And once this feature does roll out, which knowing my luck, it will come out like one hour
after this video gets posted, you'll still be able to use this as well. So,
how will these custom styles work? Well,
my guess is that you will have to come into here and click on custom style and enter in a prompt that will then be used every time for that style. So, how do
you come up with that prompt? This is
the easiest way that I have found to do this. Let's say you're scrolling around
this. Let's say you're scrolling around Twitter or YouTube or something and you see an infographic that you love like this one right here. Take a screenshot of it or download it and then come over
to Gemini and all you have to do is upload that image. I'll do that right here. And then say to Gemini, I really
here. And then say to Gemini, I really like this infographic.
Come up with a prompt for me that I can use to recreate this style in the future. not the details in the
future. not the details in the infographic, just the style of it so that I can use it for my prompts in the future. And sending that along, Gemini
future. And sending that along, Gemini will then analyze this image and come up with a prompt for you. There we go. So,
here's our prompt. If you want to make any changes to it, like this one specifically says that it's a side byside comparison. So, you could tell
byside comparison. So, you could tell Gemini, for instance, hey, remove, let's actually do this. remove the side byside comparison. I want more just the visual
comparison. I want more just the visual style of the infographic.
There we go. And it even created an image for us as well. I'm not sure why, but that's okay because we have the prompt here. I will copy that down and
prompt here. I will copy that down and return back to Notebook LM. And this
time, instead of selecting one of these visual styles, I will paste it in this box that says, describe the infographic you want to create. Again, once it
unlocks the ability to create our own custom sty styles, it's probably going to be in here. You can click on create new style and paste in this prompt so that you can use it every time. But to
get around that for now, we will just put it in this box that says describe the infographic you want to create and click on generate. And just a couple minutes later, here you go. This same
style, but now applied to my new notebook. So there you go. That's the
notebook. So there you go. That's the
newest update to Notebook LM. As with
all these updates, this is currently rolling out. It may not be available to
rolling out. It may not be available to you yet and may not be available to people in certain parts of the world.
But if you do have access to it, let me know in the comments section down below which of the styles you like the most.
Then if you want to learn why my notebook LM has all of these different buttons right here that your Notebook LM probably doesn't have, then check out
this video right here. It talks about my favorite Notebook LM Chrome extension that's perfect for any power users of Notebook LM. So click right here and
Notebook LM. So click right here and I'll see you over there in just one second. Bye for now.
second. Bye for now.
