in today's day and age now more than ever Photoshop is a really valuable skill set to have because not only you could create all sort of graphics and designs that you want but you could even potentially monetize this skill set in
this video I'm going to show you everything you need to know step by step to get started using Photoshop as a complete beginner my name is Vince and without any further Ado let's get right into it so when you first open up
Photoshop this is what you are going to be seeing and the first step to get started on your project is to click here on the top left corner and click on new file now here you are going to be able
to set the resolution of your project in this case I'm going to make it 1920x 1080 which is the regular 16x9 horizontal format but you could set it
to wherever you want it to be right here they also have a bunch of templates that you could choose from now after that once you have selected your exact resolution you want to use you click here on Create and now you will be
welcomed by the entire interface of the program but before we would get started with editing I want to say a big thank you to you guys for watching the channel and also for enado for sponsoring this
video for Creative people like you and I this platform is an absolute Lifesaver everything you need to make amazing pieces of work can be found in one place all the assets that you need to create
amazing work can be found here in one place in this one platform invado offers unlimited downloads of millions of assets that you can use in your own project including stock photos stock
videos a bunch of different type of templates whether that be graphic templates or animations even music sound effects and so much more you can download whatever you want as many times
as you want without needing to pay for every single assets license one by one which could potentially cost you tens of thousands of dollars and the best part is that with every single download you
get both a personal and a professional license as well so you don't have to pay any extra to use it in your client work either throughout this video all of the assets all of the pictures the ons
everything I'm going to be using are from enado as well so if you want to follow along make sure to go ahead and sign up in the first link in the description below because right now they're actually running an amazing
promotion where you can get even 30% off your annual plan and by the way they just did a huge Rebrand where the whole interface got a new look so you still get all the amazing assets that we
already like but with a much fresher look now let's get back to the tutorial so now the next step is going to be importing our picture into Photoshop so we can and start working on it as you can see I have this stock photo here
from enado and I'm just going to go ahead drag and drop this onto my project and just like that I was able to import it now this is an important part
whenever you import a new picture you can actually just go ahead and drag the sides of it or any of these white rectangle points to change the scale of it and you can also go ahead and move it
around as you wish now once you have placed it perfectly and you are happy with how it's looking you can click here on done and if you ever want to make more changes to it you can just press command
or controlt on your keyboard and you will be able to bring back this resizing part again now if you want to reshape it in a way where you stretch it out in One Direction without um having to keep its
proportions then you can hold shift on your keyboard and then drag out any of these parts and you can stretch out your picture as you wish now I'm going to redo this right now by pressing command and Z because I don't want it to look
like that of course uh but yeah and you could also even flip the picture uh vertically or horizontally here by clicking on these um so yeah there's that now I'm going to click here on done
now let's go over the actual layout of the software so obviously here in this middle part we have the actual working area or so uh this is where we see the final product that we have right now and
then on the right side we have a bunch of different things here first uh this is the history part so here any changes that you make to your edit is going to be recorded here so you will be able to
move move back and forth between different um you know adjustments that you made to your uh photo and then on the right side here we have the color selector we have the uh swatches gradients
patterns then under that we have adjustments so here uh we'll go into this a little bit but you can make all sort of adjustments such as exposure adjustments saturation adjustments and
so on to your layers uh then we have properties so this will just show the properties of whatever layer you have selected and then we have libraries here as well and then we have the layers area
so this is another important part where you will be spending a lot of time basically if you want to imagine layers uh and if you have never worked with any sort of softwares like this it's kind of what it sounds like right you have the
different layers of the picture and you can here change the order of which they are placed in so for example if you have two pictures and you change up the order of them whatever uh layer is going to be
on top is what gets priority on the image as well so so if you want you can also hide a layer um you can change the order of them and so on so this will be another area that you are going to be
using a lot now outside of that here on the left side we have all the different tools that we are going to be using on the top uh part of the computer you will
be able to also make other changes such as here in the image uh the edit part the file part where you can create new project save them and so on um you have
the filter area uh plugins Windows here you can enable and disable different tools as well so um yeah that's basically it right the main things that you are going to be using most of the time is going to be this area here in
the middle the layers on the right side the history tab uh the color selector the adjustments and these tools on the left now I want to go into the layers a little bit more right now so first of
all we you can also lock layers so for example the background element which in this case is this white area is locked by Nature if you want to unlock it you want to to get rid of it you just double
click on it and it will turn it into a regular layer and then you can disable that as well I'm going to go ahead and put another element into my project right now uh which is basically a light
leak and as you can see right now it's not visible because it's under the top layer but if I pull it up here then you see how the layers work basically right this is what I meant whatever is on top
is what gets priority on the image another cool feature that photoshop has which you will want to use a lot uh is going to be the blending modes so here you can see now it's set on normal but
it has actually a bunch of different uh settings right where you can blend the two images so basically now I'm selecting how it's blending it with the layer under it and if I put this on
screen you can see I was able to create this light leak effect from this uh because it took out all the dark parts of the image so it's blending them uh nicely together now you can also adjust
the opacity of a layer by coming here to opacity and Chang it so you can see the lower I put the opacity the more see-through that certain layer is and the higher I put it the less see-through
it will be it might be more apparent for example if I uh go and do it on this layer right so you can see the more I put this number lower the more it's going to be looking washed out because
the layer under it is white in this scenario now once you have a bunch of different layers on your layers tab what you can also do is you can group layers together so you can go ahead select the
different layers that you want for example now I'm just going to press command to select these two and then you can go and drag the two down all the way here where you see this little folder
icon and you can see now it grouped them together you could also alternatively just press command and G and it's also going to group them and if you double click on the name of any layer you can
also rename it so I'm just going to rename this picture for example right you could also create a new layer right here if you click on this little post button and uh as you can see now it
creat created another new empty layer for us if you want to delete a layer you can either just go ahead and drag it down here in the trash can or you can just press delete on your keyboard and to open up a folder you just click here
on this little drop down and then you will be able to see what's inside of it now I want to show you a really cool new feature with Photoshop uh which is going to be the generative fill AI feature so
this is something that's relatively new to the platform so uh I think this is something you might want to utilize as well so for for example if I come here to the left side and I click on this
selection tool and I select an area let's say here I can go ahead now and click here on generative F right and I can basically give Photoshop a prompt of what I want uh it to put there or
generate there and it's going to try to do something right so I'm going to say put a flower pot on the
window and then I'm going to click on uh yes and then I'm going to to click on agree and then now it's generating it for me so as you can see this is how it's
looking right now obviously it's not perfect but it's pretty cool that you know with just the command you can actually get a flower pot there and if you come here it actually can give you some different variations and for
example this one looks pretty good not going to lie like you couldn't really tell you know if you just take a glance at it that this was AI generated and this is a nice thing that nowadays you
don't even need as much knowledge to be able to use Photoshop because these AI features make your job a lot easier like doing this manually would have taken a lot longer than just you know prompting
it and getting this done in 30 seconds all right now next up I want to go through all of the key tools that you will be using on a day-to-day basis so here we go to our toolbar section on the
left side and as you can see the first tool is going to be the move tool so with this one you can kind of do what you would imagine it to do uh basically you just choose a layer and then you can
move it around as you wish right so um that's basically what it does you can just move things around wherever you want on your picture then next up we have the selection tool and if you right click on it you can also get the
elliptical uh technically it's called the Marquee tool but whatever you can make a selection with it that's the whole point so if let's say I wanted to go on this image and I wanted to select
just his head I could make this draw around it I can uh for example go ahead and press press command n c and command n v and I can make a selection from just
that and as you can see I was able to paste it on a new layer right there now the this next tool is also a type of a selection tool but it's called the lasso tool so with this one you can kind of
create a free drawn shape whatever you want and it will make a selection with that exact shape as well if you want to uh redo your selection you just click your on D select and then it will get rid of it now this next one is called
the quick selection tool so this is one I use quite often with this one you can very easily select different objects shapes uh by just basically either kind of drawing around it like this so you
can see now it's selecting the actual person that I wanted to select um and yeah you can do it like this and here on the top you can also change to the
reverse of this which is the quick D selection tool I guess uh and with this one I mean you can just also draw and uh remove things from the selection you
made with the quick selection tool it also has this feature and it this works pretty well usually where you just click here on select subject and it's going to try to see what's actually the
subject that you are trying to select and it will automatically do it for you so you can see it did a decent job um here there are some parts which I didn't want to be selected so I will just have
the minus uh or negative version of the quick selection tool I will just go and quickly paint uh over those parts and then uh just like like that as you can
see now it got rid of a part I wanted it to keep um so I will just finish up this real quick if you want to make some more fine-tuned adjustments to your selection
you can also press Q on your keyboard and as you can see now it shows in red all the areas that are not in your selection and the parts that are in your selection are in full color and then if
you come here to the brush tool then you will be able to make these tiny little adjustments to it as well so if you have the white color selected here then it will be adding things to your selection
and if you have the black color selected as the primary one then it will be removing things from your selection if you want to change uh between the white and black or the negative and positive
part then you can just press X on your keyboard and right now as you can see I'm um removing things from the selection now I'm adding things to the selection and to exit out of this mode
you just press Q again and once you are happy with your selection and you want to make a new layer from it let's say you can just press command C command V and now if I disable this background
layer you can see I was able to actually cut out just this person from my image all right next tool here in the lineup is the crop tool so this also does what you would imagine it to do you can go
and trim or expand the edges with this one so yeah that's uh basically about it for that one you can make uh a crop to your image as as you wish and then it
will cut it to that exact resolution then we have the frame tool which can create Place holder frames for images then we have the eye dropper tool so the eye dropper tool is basically
something that you can get the exact colors that you want with as a selection so let's say I wanted to get this exact Brown that his hair has here so I can just use the ey dropper tool and as you
can see here on the right side it selected that exact uh you know dark brown that I was pointing it at but if I wanted to get let's say this exact blue I could just click on that and I will
also be able to select that exact color then next up we have the spot healing brush tool so this is great for covering up small imperfections like let's say if you have something on your shirt or if
you have some acne whatever it is that you want to cover up you can easily do that for example I'm going to do this uh with this birth mark or whatever it is I'm just going to click on it and as you can see just like that kind of like
magic it got rid of it and it filled it out uh with content a wear fill so basically you know it fills it up in a way where it seems natural or even here if I want to do that you can see just
like that you can get rid of all all small imperfections on your image then next up we have the brush tool so this is also what it says it is uh however
the brush tool is very very versatile you can do a bunch of different things with it uh here if you go to the top you can select the size of the brush that you want you can choose the hardness of
it is and that is basically how hard the edges are of your brush um you can also choose from all these different templates that they have over here you can also choose the opacity of the brush
so how see-through your brush stroke is going to be the flow of it um the smoothing of it so there's a lot that you can adjust here um but for now I'm just going to create a new layer here to
show you how it looks like so um obviously it's going to paint with the exact color that you have selected as the primary one so I will just choose black for now and you can also right click anywhere in your image and get up
um this adjustment part which will make it a lot faster than always going back here to the top but yeah so you can see I can paint over it just like this and right now I'm painting on this layer
right so if I change the opacity of it or if I change the blending mode or any of those things I can uh make these nice little small adjustments with my brush
as I wish uh again there's a lot that goes into the brush tool you can use it for a lot of different things in Photoshop and this tutorial I don't have the time to cover it too much but if you guys want to see a video about that then
let me know in the comment section down below so next up we have the Clone stamp tool so with this one you can paint with pixels from another part of the image let me show you how that actually looks like so let's say I want to use this
exact color of the wall here I'm going to press option on my keyboard I will press here and then wherever my brush area is it will kind of take almost like a snapshot of that and I can actually
use that to brush over other areas of my image just like this right if I want to take another sample I just click here again and then I can brush over it and just like this if I wanted to I would be
able to kind of get rid of this part um pretty naturally and pretty easily next up we have the Eraser tool so this is also pretty self-explanatory if I uh
select a layer I can make uh eras Ms to it so just like this I can erase his head or whatever I want to do with my image and obviously this works on layers
and also even layer masks now next after this we have the gradient tool so this is another one that you can use in a lot of creative ways for example if I wanted to make this area in my image a lot
darker I could just even go ahead and create a new layer and just like this I can create a gradient on my image uh you can also choose from a bunch of different presets that they have bunch
of different colors um so yeah this is also a very versatile tool all right now we have the Dodge tool or the burn tool so you can use this to lighten up or darken up a certain area of an image so
let's say if I wanted to make his hair a bit lighter I can use this tool to uh lighten it up just like this and as you can see the more times I click on it the
brighter it keeps getting so yeah this can be pretty useful for brightening up certain parts or also um darkening certain parts if you choose the burn tool so that's how the
burn tool looks as you can see it's making it with every single click darker and darker next up we have the pen tool so the pen tool can be used to create shapes or and selections and you do it
by clicking somewhere and then clicking another place as well and then you can create all these different lines right so this is great if you are trying to create a really really detailed selection especially for like longer
edges or things like that as well now after this we have the text tools so this is the one that you can add text with to your photo so for example I'm going to create a new layer right now
and I will place this layer uh between the background and also um this cutout that we have of this guy and then I'm going to click here on my image and then it added a text to my layer so I can
change this to whatever I want so for example I'm going to make it photosop I can click here I can change the color of this and then after that if I press
command T I can also you know place it anywhere I want I can uh make it bigger or smaller so I'm going to go ahead and put this under this layer so now as you
can see it's in between the guy and um the background because I erased off I think some of the the guy's head it's uh not lining up perfectly but you know this is how you could put for example
something behind another object I will just go make a new selection so you can see it so yeah this is how it would look like now obviously you can make as many adjustments your text as well as you want here on the right side you could
change the font you could change the size the spacing between the letters the spacing between the lines so many different things right I'm going to show you how to change the font for
now so in my folder I've downloaded this new font which is called frenzy modern Sans from enado so I'm going to go ahead and download and install this right now
so just double click on it click here on install and just like that I was able to add it to my computer I'm going to select this entire text I'm going to
come come here to the top start typing in freny regular this is the one I just downloaded I'm going to press on the little tick and as you can see now I was
able to change it to the exact font that I wanted to use now if you want to add a drop shadow for example to your image then you can do that in uh here over the
blending options menu but we will go into that a little bit later then we have the rectangle tool here and if you right click you can also get other shapes as well so with this one you can
basically make a selection it will and it will make a rectangle in that shape um now you can see here you can change the edges whether you want them to be kind of like rounded or not for example
if I put this to zero it will not be rounded anymore you can make other adjustments to it as well like the color of it whether you want to have a stroke on it or not and so on then we have the
hand tool so this can be used to kind of pan over your image so if you click anywhere it's not going to select it but you can pan around around then we have the magnifying tool so this you can use
to either zoom in or zoom out so for example now it's on the minus so it's zooming out but if I click here on the plus it's going to zoom in now an easier way to do this in my opinion is if you
press command or control if you're on Windows and the plus and minus keys on your keyboard so you can use that to zoom in or zoom out as well and it's much faster way to do it or you can also just use your mouse pad as well
alternatively so these are just some of the most used tools in Photoshop that you are going to be using on a daily basis there are a lot more things that you can do as well a lot of different tools but I just wanted to show you
these to start with now let's go into the blending options a little bit right now so I got my text in here and I'm going to right click on it and click here on blending options and you can use this with any type of layer as well by
the way so here you have a bunch of different options you could change the actual stroke um within the layer right so you can do this with not only text
but anything else as well um you could add an inner Shadow for it you could add an inner glow uh color overlay gradient overlays right uh pattern overlays you
could add the drop shadow to it um you can adjust all the different properties of that drop shadow um and all the properties of any of these uh blending options that you have over here so um
yeah there's a lot of different things you can do here in the blending options as well I would suggest you to go and try to play around with it a little bit find out what every sing single one of them does and uh yeah but in general the
most common ones that I use are drop shadow and also I use um inner Shadow as well quite a lot to create more of a 3d effect on my U photos and also sometimes
gradient overlays or pattern overlays can be uh pretty handy as well all right once you're happy with your settings you can click here on okay now let's go into adjustments layers a little bit so if
you come here to adjustments and you select the certain layer um that you want it to affect then you can come here you can see you can change things like the saturation the Hue the
contrast the curves so many different things right right now I'm just going to do the saturation so if you want to bring down the saturation you pull it to the left if you want to bring it up you pull it to the right right so if I
wanted to create a black and white background for this I could just pull it all the way to the left here and if you want um you know to change the strength so to say of an adjustment layer which
we have right here you can come here to opacity and as you can see it's changing the strength of it as I bring it up or down now let's say I'm going to put this now on top of this layer so you can see
now it's affecting both the background layer and my main character layer as well so to say so if I only wanted it to affect let's say the the character and the background I wanted to have a color
I could right click on it click here on create clipping mask and then what that does is basically now it's only a affecting the actual layer that it's on
so you can see I mean on this image it's not as visible but the background has color right now and it's only making the character black and white but let me show you a better example cuz right now
it's a little bit hard to see with this one so for example if I go ahead and I make a selection of this guy's shirt right here I will create a new layer
from that and if I put the adjustment layer I created and then I click on create clipping mask you can see now it's only adjusting that certain area of
his shirt because it's not affecting any of the layers under that only this one that it's kind of like linked to now if you want to unlink it you can just right click create uh click on release
clipping mask and then it's going to again adjust everything that's under it another feature I use quite a lot are actually the different kind of blurs that photoshop has built in so for
example if I wanted to blur this background even further I'm going to select the background l here I'm going to come here all the way to the top to filter and then here you have a bunch of different kind of blurs that you could
use so for example motion blur will create kind of as the name suggest uh a blur that makes it look like uh it was moving uh you have the gajian blur which is more of a natural kind of looking
blur but I'm just going to put the motion blur on that for now and you can see I can adjust the the strength of that as well or the distance as much as
I wish so for example just like this I I was able to create this background effect now once you're happy with your edit you can just click here on the top on file and uh either just make a save
to the cloud or you can click here on save a copy and then after that uh you can go on to save on your computer and then you can select where you want it to
actually be saved so I just want it to be saved on my downloads let's say you can select the file format so if you have like a transparent background uh image then you will want to use PNG but
generally speaking if you don't you want to use jpeg because it's a much smaller sized format and it is best for internet use in general for my opinion and then you just click on save you will be able
to choose the quality that you want to save it in so I'm going to choose 12 and it's also going to give me a file size preview and then I click here on
okay and now if I go to my downloads as you can see I have this exact uh photo right here exported ready to use now another thing I wanted to show you is how to work with templates so I
downloaded this YouTube channel R template from enado so I'm just going to unzip it and as you can see we have three different styles here so I'm going to choose for example this one I will
click here on it I will just double click on it and then it opens up the template for me uh it should be a PSD file and now if I want to you know adjust everything here I can just go
ahead and click on the text and I will just change it to my own usernames for example same thing with this one as well I can also change the name to my
name and then here where we have the person I'm going to click on that and then you see here it says replace me so if I double click on this whenever you see this little thing uh you can double
click on it and then it will go and open it in a basically a new tab or new layer so I'm going to go ahead now and actually adjust and put in here U my
other um project I'm going to copy this uh cutout of the guy and then press command C I will go back into this one press command V and now I'm going to
press command and T to change the the size of it I'm going to match these up so it looks like this I will uh flip it
so it kind of matches it uh perfectly so let's do something like that and then now I'm going to hide this replace me
layer I will come up to file click on save so now if I go back to my uh template as you can see I was able to put it in here
so just like that in around 1 minute I was able to adjust this template and now if I go ahead and save a copy of this uh I will name this channel background for
example and save it in jpeg I just got this a pretty cool looking channel art and I would be able to just go ahead upload this to my channel and use it if I wanted to so
that's kind of how you can use templates that you get from enado or um anywhere else now I hope you found this tutorial helpful and you might feel a bit more comfortable go ahead and click the link
below the description to sign up for enado to get all your assets from and if you don't have Photoshop yet you can also get that in the description below so thank you so much for watching all the way until the end I hope I could
help and I will see you in the next video
