in a world where change is taking place at an unprecedented Pace businesses need agile intelligent and scalable Solutions
more than ever and this is where the sap business technology platform comes in SCB PTP is constantly evolving with new capabilities and
features being added at a regular Pace to ensure that it remains at the Forefront of in inations today we will explore the
latest Innovations of the core uh building blocks and by the end of today's session you will have a clear
understanding of how SCP btp supports managing the latest uh World um
challenges and um help you turn bus ideas into um good uh Business Solution sorry here
I'm blocking here but with this a very warm welcome and thank you for joining our first episode of sap btp in
2025 I have here with me anash you will might remember him from the last years Anna is product manager for thep
B2B focusing on platform related Cross services topics during his past 19 years at sap Anna worked in different roles in the
area of Sap's technology portfolio with strong customer focus and with this without further Ado Anna over to you thank you so much t for
having me again in this session so for the fourth time four fourth year um I am happy uh to join your session series
here and um Take A Part so this year again the overview uh and the introduction session um really uh great to be here also thank you for all the
participants to join our session today um uh my name is Anish Beck as Tanya already mentioned uh maybe some of you have already seen me during the last
years so this is an update really on what is sap business technology platform what are the areas that we cover with its features and capabilities what are some new
developments in that area and it's the start of this series of deep diap sessions on the different topics that we are covering
today so um let's directly dive into the content here and start with a picture that might be might look familiar in some way or
form to a lot of you but some of you might have looked at this from a different uh different angle and say why
are the colors that strange so yes uh this is the general um strategy graphic that sap is using to outline the general
sap strategy and it has been uh updated a little at the beginning of the year uh so basically it outlines really what
Sap's Core Business um and strategy is with that light blue um area in the middle here outlining Cloud Erp and the
different lines of business where we provide our business applications now recently last week we introduced introduced as a funny term in
that case the term business suite for this uh collection of applications I know we had this term in the past so everything's coming back so you will
potentially hear that um that term a lot more uh in the future so basically that is of course our Core Business uh at sap
nevertheless that gets extended by our partners with their ecosystem Solutions with industry specific Solutions with
tools and um guidelines on really help you with your business transformation and how to manage that and when you look then at the purple ring uh at the
outside we are really focusing on AI from a strategy perspective so that's where Jewel comes into play jewel is our
assistant to support your employees in their different business functions to do their businesses better and faster and with uh information uh and support by
artificial intelligence you see behind then or underneath are the agents so also here what we're following up besides this
conversation Jewel uh possibility to have it as assistance are AI agents so you can
imagine those like um specialists in their certain area that have the cap the ability to also
work together to solve also very complex problems so actually helping these agents uh each other uh to also answer
questions that been AC cross a different application or process area to then give uh the right and necessary
information um to the end user or do really tasks by themselves at the bottom and I mean this is the the reason why
we're here to today is still our business technology platform and uh that we are going to cover in this uh Series today and you
also see this uh blue uh half circle here on top of btp which is the business data Cloud I don't know how many and if
there are people in the call today that joined our large announcements session last week our business Unleashed event where we gave this introduction or where
we announced uh sap business data cloud and I'm also going to cover a little bit on what it is today but we will ALS of course have a dedicated session on this
uh next week on Thursday uh where we will or where you will get all the details on where are we going to now really focusing on btp I want to start
and now if you look at the header it says it is the development foundation for sap development so what does that mean it means that whenever sa is
building new business applications btp is our first choice as the development system for our own
developments on the one hand side as I said it's the choice for new developments on the other hand side now focusing on that business Suite of
applications it's also the platform the technology platform that offers common technology services that are used by the
different applications of our portfolio to really have have common qualities things like um common security um
authentication authorization mechanisms um same inter user interface Technologies um having the possibility
to combine user interfaces of the different and tasks of the different applications into a central entry point
for your employees no matter from which application actually it's coming from um handling of Master data and having harmonized models behind Central task
inbox for tasks that come from the different applications these are the services that actually are provided by btp to make really a suite of
applications and integrated applications um out of our um application portfolio and then last but not least
when we talk about sap developments btp is also our Innovation engine so our Innovation platform that is used by the different um application and development
teams within sap to bring Innovative Technologies into their applications um the best
example here is AI so how do we handle um AI at um at sap so basically we're
developing the uh AI scenarios for the different applications on top of btp and we're also operating these scenarios on
btp and embed the functionality into uh our Cloud applications so we are using this also as our Innovation platform to bring
modern Technologies like AI gen Technologies and and and features into our applications but that's not all so if you look at
partners for example uh and we see this uh one ring saying ecosystem Solutions it's also our platform that we give to
our partners to say you know this is a platform that is optimized to work together with those business applications we're providing why don't you use it as
partners to create maybe industry specific or very specialized applications that extend the rich functionality that we're
using or giving to our customers with our application portfolio and what we're seeing now is that we have a large
community uh of sap uh partners with more than overall more than 50,000 licensed uh individual um people uh
being licensed for btp um we have more than 750 partner applications that at the moment available for you uh to
choose um to work with to really create your individual um uh business processes here and talking about individual uh business
processes we're then uh really at the heart of what you can do and how you can work with the business technology platform and this is that we are
providing this platform also to our customers to you um to really create your individual highly integrated and
highly Automated Business processes so exactly the way you need them in the combination of applications that you're running with the extensions that you're
needing fully integrated in between the different applications that you're operating here and with a lot capabilities and possibilities on how to automate uh a lot of those process or a
lot of the things and steps uh that you're having in these processes so to do that we are focusing on some key areas and also here you
might see we are with the with the changes to the general um um graphic here for the overall U sip strategy we
also slightly adjusted um our representation picture on how we look at business technology platform so the first pillar that we're having here is really the application development and
automation area where we really want to provide a modern development platform for all types of developers in the
development Community to allow code-based low code no code based um automation related um
development um the second part is the data and analytics part and here we have a very strong collaboration or coexistence however you want to call
that with the business data Cloud solution that I will touch then later on WE of course have the integration piece where we really focus on bringing all
the pieces of your endtoend processes together no matter if we're talking about application to application business to business business to
government API based or uh event driven uh integration um this is where we're going in with the business technology platform here to
support you with all those tasks and then we have of course artificial intelligence and um if we look at artificial intelligence and btp there
are always two sides of the story so the first side of the story and I mentioned that before that we're embedding artificial intelligence into our
applications we of course also embed artificial in intelligence into our btp tools so inside epde data and analytics
integration and automation we're really um embedding artificial intelligence to support the respective developer data
scientist or end user or maybe Enterprise architect uh in their work to create new applications or helping to
read existing and Legacy code or or create new Integrations or get insights uh in a very intuitive Way by just communicating with this uh with the
solutions on the other hand side if we look at artificial intelligence it's of course the discipline that enables you
to create your own um AI scenarios and embed your own custom AI scenarios into your processes to really fulfill uh your
needs and also looking at the time we are working really in embedding AI wherever we can
but our um priorization on when we will be able to do what is maybe not yours and so you have the possibility to also
create your own AI scenarios of course and embedd it into the platform or into your applications and last but not least um there is the platform Foundation that
actually makes a platform out of those uh different tools and and disciplines here uh where we take care on for
Central Security for connectivity when it comes to live and work in hybrid uh Landscapes um we're looking into things
like um life cycle management for your um applications um compliance uh when it comes to fulfill
um those requirements and the overall administration of your platform your solutions that you created on top and how you can also work with the uh
processes and build up let's say a center of excellence for uh btp to really be able to work inside your
company as always as last year let me give you one example of a customer um on
how they are using um uh btp um with one example uh today i' chosen uh Faris which is a Belgian water company so they
are in Water Production Transportation uh but on the other hand side there are also U running some um public pools uh and so on so everything that
deals with water and uh farth uh together with uh some other companies inside Belgium decided really to create
a smartw platform on btp so basically the original idea was we want to use Smart Meters um at our customers to
really get more insights uh detect things leakages for example that occur much earlier and bring this information
have the possibility to analyze and do the planning um on what is going to happen being faster to really create and do a billing invoicing and so on so what
they did is they are using heavily the integration tools to for example get uh data of the systems that are actually
operating the water meters and exchange that with sap Cloud for energy which also here shows that sap is using btp as
a as a development platform so sap Cloud for energy uh is a um software as a service solution that is being built on
on btp by sap and provided to you um and they are then taking the uh integration Suite Advanced Event mesh to actually gather events that come
directly from the water meters they are then mixing all this information together of course with the master data with work orders notifications and the
objects they are getting from the S4 system within sap data sphere to really make it possible to have advanced planning and
analytics on top of this data and they also then created um smart applications on top of btp where for example as I
mentioned before they are taking the data coming from the water meters and detect leakages not as they did it before at the end of the year when they
actually did the metering now they really are able to do that every day to detect if there is a leakage to directly um resolve the necessary um um
actions afterwards creating work orders and so on uh to be able um to get rid of the problem so just as an information for you there is this link on more
information or just Google sap and Faris there is actually a session tomorrow uh at the same time as we met today um
where Faris is uh explaining this overall Solutions and what they did in detail where you can just register just go to Google uh and Google for Faris and
sap or uh take the link here uh in the slides and then you will be able to to join this uh session so fares just one
example of our um more than 29,000 customers we are having today um on sap bdp a lot of Partners as I mentioned
before and uh and this is something that I did not mention explicitly um for now but is very key part of btp is really
then the business content that we're providing like if you have an integration platform that's nice uh if you have to start and create every uh
integration on your own uh it's a lot of work and this is also something where we are targeting what we are targeting at for all the different areas that that I
was introducing here to really give you a hat start by providing um respective content like for example 3800 uh
integration flows that you can uh reuse but on the other hand side not mentioned on the slide we will cover that a little bit later a lot of bots that help you
for example automate tasks workflows that you can uh create and and reuse and we will see that also in the data area
um we are going into this direction more and more so let's drive uh dive a little bit uh deeper into the different
sections uh that I introduced on btp and let's start with the application development and automation part just as a reminder I will give you today an
overview about the difference solutions that we are looking at when we look at this part we will have a dedicated Deep dive
session with the respective experts also that um go a lot deeper uh into the topics here um so please have a look at
the agenda of the series uh which are the sessions um and you will get all your answered all your questions
answered so when comes to application development um the first question that we have to look at is what are the
different tasks and challenges that have to be Sol solved and um how do we do that so let's start at the bottom here
um first thing and also often first scenario of um customers that start with btp is really the setup of business sites so
combining the access to different applications you are having in a central launcher page or if you want to go a
little bit further integrating also uh other things like some analytics insights uh and maybe Knowledge
Management capabilities in the end maybe to really come to a complete digital workspace for your employees Act acting
as a central entry point to uh the work for your employees inside their specific tasks and requirements so that could be one um uh
action that developers have to look at the next thing is really then automating processes or tasks so in this world
where we have the different business applications covering often only pieces of endtoend process
um it's all more and more required to look at processes that span across different application systems and the
question is always how do we handle that and from where actually do we do that and um with sap btp um as a side by-side
platform being independent also of the life cycles of the different solutions it's a perfect solution to really create
those cross applicational workflows and processes being very well integrated on the other hand side um that is one topic
where we see more and more often um development requests the other thing is the task automation here so what we also see a lot is that is specifically in the
transition to S4 uh our customers see that there is a lot of room for improvements when it
comes to automate specific tasks even in their business applications where they figure out maybe with the help of the signavio tooling analyzing the processes
and they figure out that they have some specific tasks human tasks that actually slow down those processes and these are
perfect points to step in and think about how can we automate those tasks and as I said um what we're offering here is a lot also of content where we
see a lot of customers have struggling at some similar areas for example in in S4 at some point in time and we already
offer you templates for those Bots that you can use to implement automated processing be it completely un attendant
or be it just as a helper for the human being that actually is uh processing in those tasks and then of course we have the
classical uh development um requirement where we say we need to do some coding here we have new functionality we have
new business logic uh that has to be implemented and of course this is where the traditional developers come into play building those applications with
code not necessarily having to write their code alone today in times of AI there is a lot of code generation Al possibilities I will talk to that about
that in a second how we implement or integrate uh those capabilities in our Solutions but we clearly are addressing here the role of a traditional developer
no matter if this is cloud native with python or JavaScript um capabilities or if it's the classical ABAB developer right this is all
or these are all the different profiles that we're addressing here with our application development uh and an automation
portfolio but in times where a lot of customers tell us that their development
backlog is growing and growing the question is how do we make sure that you can bring this backlog down I mean I was
talking about code generation capability which of course speeds up the traditional um um development approach
but on the other hand side there's also of course the approach to say how can we enable non developers to actually do
development tasks so basically in the Enterprise and business area I don't think that it is the same as in the office or or personal work area where
you have a simple automation tool and you build your own application because of course you're handling on business data you need to have knowledge on business data but thinking
about the dysfunction often um referenced as business it so often the people that in
former times wrote the requirement catalogs for what has to be developed these people are often a good source to
start with to enable them to do a lot of tasks by themselves and establish such a development approach inside your
organization and then if you want to do that and you have those different roles in the end you do not want to have them separated often you have will have
projects where certain things will be part of the overall solution in the end so maybe uh some low code developers of the
business it will focus on UI perspectives then we have some dedicated also process experts leveraging low code
tools to create workflows but then at some point in time you have maybe really business logic to develop so now making
a complete product or project out of that requires also bringing together those different rols those different
Tools in a central place where you can also govern uh such projects and have access to the different assets and artifacts that are being created here
and this is where we're talking about Fusion development and this is exactly what we're targeting with sap
build so with sap build basically we're combining all those different tools I will introduce in in a second in one
central place as a starting point and as the central point also to collect all the different artifacts on the one hand side but also templates something that
we provide as I said before for example for Bots for workflows and so on and you can directly use it and then make sure that your development projects combining
and bringing together those different teams uh can work together and uh that you're coming to best results here so
what are the tools that we are combining here let's have a look first of all at the traditional um development tools um
so on the one hand side we have sa build code which is our solution for cloud native development um in the languages
of your choice so this could be JavaScript this could be python this could could be Java or others um of course and I will come to that in a second we have a
strong recommendation uh for you what might make sense here to use um and then we have on the other
hand side the upup environment running on btp allowing abup uh developments in a side-by-side approach to your S4
system which also uh gives you good opportunities to couple certain developments from uh your S4 system for example in scenarios where you need to
have a separate life cycle management for the apps or extensions that you're building where you want to serve users that do not have S4
access um and of course a lot of you will have great abup developers with great process knowledge
and he the possibility to really use them in their uh environment to um bring in their experience in the
developments the last solution uh when it comes to application development that we're providing is sap build apps sap
build apps is basically our low code no code solution so more no code than low
code um that really targets at uh non-developers to be or to enable them to really also create full stack
applications uh from the data U structures to uh the the business logic and the UI so there is a very short video it's running very fast just want
to give you some U small Insight on how that look like so the screen that you're seeing here is from build code uh and what you see is that we also embed AI
Technologies uh here so we have Jewel integrated uh into our development environment here so what you're seeing
is that there has been uh somebody the developer has created uh prompt um so normal text um and the solution
generates then the code beneath and you can also see that that we're using here a um uh in inside our development also the capability to not only have the
plain code but also use graphical support uh for the modeling for example of data structures so how does that look like so the first thing is you decide
inside the lobby what you want to use as a tool so build code or build apps for example then you're doing the uh prompt
you create uh you get your uh solution created then um the data model um so maybe this was the step before where you
had the possibility the to what is happening now can you still see my screen what has happened now my
PowerPoint crashed I I'm afraid let me I can see your screen that's your yeah laptop I will have uh to look my
PowerPoint crashed completely that's not really nice so no let's go there no that was the wrong one sorry that's
events YouTube series I'm so sorry for that I have no idea what has happened there let
me quickly open up PowerPoint again taking its time to open yeah not our
technology this Cas I am relieved I had the same thoughts yeah maybe I should not mention that
but sometimes it's it's good if you can really say it so let's see that's not even the right presentation let
I will look here yeah now it's opening up a ton of different PowerPoints let me choose the right
one which is this one and we were at this page where we have uh the video so I'm
not going uh through all the process you see here we are provide um then using AI to create some example data the business
logic and maybe I stop here for a second whoops sorry uh at the end and at the other hand side you will see also then
the uh business uh the build apps tool where you have the no code approach where you have then for example here on top possibility to create the user
interface but also then the business logic and the um and the data structures here
so that's um when it comes to application development looking at what we're focusing at it's on the one hand side Always Mobile end web no matter if
your pro code or low code developing of course we're using AI you saw that we also have um similar or we're working on
similar functionalities for ABAB to explain and gener generate code here um and uh really focusing on the extensions
of our applications enabling you to really work together with the existing application systems that you're having making sure that all the things like
signal sign on integration and so on are available more or less out of the box supporting you with content uh to really
get uh the start uh and to create your individual extensions also from a tooling perspective and you know specifically if
we're talking at the about the cloud native development uh there are a ton of different Frameworks for the different layers available so we have clear
recommendations when it comes to development um and you will find here the link to the btp developers guide so at the center of our strategy here in
our recommendations are our uh programming models with for non-ab up development the cloud application programming model
cup and um of course the abup cloud model these also make sure that you lever you can leverage um core Services
of the sap btp that help you get some required tasks when it comes to to development of business applications out of the box so for
example um audit logging is such a topic where we provide a service it's one line of code in the end um in inside your application development if you're using
cup and automatically then you simply have to annotate um the your data and automatically uh the the audit log
functionality is coming out of the box really showing you when something is going on so that you really have the possibility to focus on the business
scenario that you have to develop and not having uh to focus much on any
technology um related uh things here now I would like to add one um one thing here and this is the area of
specifically S4 Hana uh extensibility because I think it is really really important to think about how to come to
what we call a clean Core so if we look at our customers today we see there foran um specifically and that's also the reason why a lot of customers move
uh to the private Cloud edition of Sana is that they have tons of custom code they created over the last 30 to 40
years inside their Erp systems and basically if I look at what we're doing at the moment moment in our development environments where everybody
is focusing on AI and bringing AI capabilities into our core applications which is of course also true for s for Hana let me ask you the question on what
do you think within your company when you will be able to consume or your end users will be able to consume the development that is now taking place in
our development department when when it comes to for example Leverage the AI functionalities that we're providing and I'm pretty sure that most
of you have numbers in mind like two to five years uh it will take and if we look at on the other hand side um public
Cloud Solutions um I can tell you of course that ins into the public Cloud Solutions potentially these developments will be available in half a year or
something right so it's definitely on the PA also to the cloud it is important to bring down the custom code because that is
basically at most of our customers the reason why it takes so long because it is extremely hard to do upgrades due to
heavy testing huge projects take forever and so it definitely is important to have a look at what do I do with the custom code that I have um for different
reasons of course Bringing Down the upgrade cycle time um we're seeing a lot of ton of code that is not even used any
longer um but also of course making sure that you're not falling into any security gaps due to old code or code where you have no clue what it's doing
simplification bringing back also the data St to standard with this comes improved performance and of course if the upgrades are getting much easier
also the TCO is getting down so there are different ways on how you can approach this for your different scenar scenarios we have the inap extensibility
um inside um S4 for the um private Cloud Edition we also of course have then abup Cloud on top of S4 nevertheless as said
before there are a ton of scenarios where we think it definitely makes sense to have a side by side platform as btp
as crucial and Elemental um part of your um strategy when it comes to um extensions and of course uh with btp
it's at the same time uh your platform that gives you um the access to Innovative Technologies not only the innovations that we're bringing in
standard automating processes quite fast I was telling a lot um about this so here really low code based solution with build process automation focusing on the
two topics of uh process Automation and workflows and on the other hand side on uh task automation with Bots that
support or individually or um uh independently uh fulfill uh human TS so here we integrated AI on both
sides on the one hand side helping create workflows for example but on the other hand side also being able for workflows or Bots that work with documents we
directly included here solutions to extract information out of that documents uh derive actions out of the content that is part of the documents
here last but not least in the epdf and automation area we have sap build work Zone um our solution or Solutions uh if
we look at standard and Advanced Edition to create meaningful sites or application launcher Pages um so could
be a simple Louch pad to Just Launch the applications that you created but on the other hand side you also have the possibilities as you can get a glimpse
here in the in the graphic to really create highly individual and customizable entry points into the work
of your employees with really uh uh creating a digital uh workplace here summing up yes we saw the different
solutions that are part of sap build uh sap btp's portfolio for application development and um
automation we're using Jewel inside the different applications to support the developers we're providing the content
um here also to start or being faster in creating a lot of requested uh things we're seeing at our customers and with
this let's come uh to data and analytics um so as said before last week we had the business Unleashed event where we introduced a complete new solution a
software as a service solution which is uh the sap business data Cloud which is now in controlled availability and will be General
availability uh with a current planning in Q2 so basically what is business data Cloud it's the evolution of what we
started two years ago with a combination of sap data sphere analytics cloud and Hana Cloud um where we really created
this idea of a business data fabric bringing together business data uh structured data unstructured data having a strong analytical
and planning Solution on top um this uh now comes to the next step so
um I will come to that in a second we added so-called inside apps uh so these inside apps are
basically um complete solutions that provide um a dashboard or a planning template or
another analytical application on the one hand side but with all the required artifacts down to the data models and
data products so that you can in the end directly use that um and uh the the technology behind or the idea behind is
really that we now govern those data products behind so you get them from sap directly communicating with the underlying applications that we're
having you can also use those data products then to create your own models extended also with external data for
example and then create your own information on top so looking at the overall um portfolio of what is behind
this software as a solution with business with business data cloud is on the one hand side as said what we currently had with SIP data sphere
analytics Cloud for um business intelligence and and planning but we also include your business Warehouse
private Cloud Edition to directly also reuse your Investments that you have done into BW very interesting also when it comes
to the migration of BW into the direction of business data Fabric and what is completely new with sap data
bricks um which is um a joint applications created by sap and data bricks to include the data engineering
and machine learning and AI functionalities of sap data bricks to enable the data scientists for example
to leverage this business Rich data where getting from the Sip applications to work with it combine it also with other data source unstructured data to
create um meaningful and relevant machine learning and AI Solutions and when I talked about this inside apps it's not only that we are
going to deliver those completely managed um inside apps we're also working together here and uh with with a
lot of partners that will also provide then um inside apps that uh include the models the data products behind and are are managed
here so what you get yes you're getting those um context where inside apps where you can directly get
information um uh you have the possibility then with the data products that you install after you chosen those
context apps those data products will be installed you can then work with that data products that bring all the business semantics coming from the
applications into Data sphere and have the possibility then to model transform um join with with
information from uh other systems or sources and in the end use reuse for example also what you have uh created in
in BW and in the end if you need to have more look at machine learning uh capabilities or artificial intelligence scenarios you have the possibility to
use sap data bricks to create the respective applications here now as said before if you want to I
know that this was a very short overview here uh I know it is a lot um but um we will have the dedicated session on this
as said before next week on Thursday so I really um would ask you to go there for the details uh for BDC
integration I think very obvious for a technology platform in the era of uh digital transformation of moving from on
premise systems to private and public Cloud Solutions we see also a lot of new technologies in the um in the area of
integration with event driven Integrations we more and more if we talk about integrated processes we of course need to integrate our partners but also
um being able to fulfill governmental um requirements in the different countries so b2g and B2B scenarios um and of course looking at
technology evolving also here we want to focus on the experience of the
developers um to to enable um you to uh move your integration to the next level and our main solution here is of course
sap integration Suite on btp which handles nearly every integration pattern um or every so I'm not aware of anyone's that we're not
covering here of integration patterns in hybrid landscape so no matter if it's a ground to ground scenario that we can operate really also
on your premises or in your Prem premises um or if it's a pure Cloud scenario or if it's a scenario uh combining or integrating cloudbased and
on- premise based or private cloud and public cloud-based Solutions um we also are focusing and we have seen this um also with with the
Faris example on different types of integration like uh with the event driven approach they took um and as said just we're focusing
also here on the simplification and faster time to Value so it's nice to have a more modern user interface but on the other hand side of course we're also
leveraging AI capabilities to support the developer here to create integration scenarios and I said before with those 3,800 pre-built Integrations we're
really giving you a heads up here to start and yes we know a lot of you have invested heavily in sap integration
technology with pi and Po and we really want to make it easy for you to modernize and um yeah transform your
integration um platform here so we're also offering migration support we're now embedding also artificial intelligence to make it easier to have
tool-based migrations supporting you uh reuse a lot of of things that you have created in the back um so this is also very
important and in many many cases we recommend to also look into your other integration Solutions besides the sap
world because in many cases sap integration Suite is also the best choice when it comes to Central uh Enterprise Integration platform not only
looking at the sap world so here an overview about um our main product which is the integration Suite there is the extension
um for the integration Suite Advanced Event mesh offering Advanced Event capabilities um other than that the
integration Suite also includes event um event based scenarios to a certain extent um we have the uh Cloud
integration uh capability here that handles your a TOA B2B and b2g scenarios we have migration capabilities we have
the API Management in place so really a full Suite um of um supporting tools to
help you um really work with all the the um integration challenges that you're having deployment models here also even
if you have to to process it on prep premises you have the possibility for example to have a local runtime here for the integration engine
so I'm not going into the details here it's a very commonly used and very well established solution as you can imagine but let's go on also due to the time it's not too
much time left on artificial intelligence so when it comes to artificial intelligence let me shortly also go into the general sap um
sap strategy here so what we're doing actually I said it before we're embedding AI capabilities into all our business applications we're using Jewel
in all our different AI applications to support you as a or the business users in a uh in a as a digital assistant here
and with the agents we really then also have those specialists in the different disciplines or in the different lines of business businesses
areas so when it comes to btp I mean we are using btp to operate all those things that we're embedding into the AI
capabilities if you look at it from a customer or partner perspective it's really interesting to have a look at how can we create our own scenarios and how
do we operate those scenarios and this is what we're also offering you with the AI foundation on on btp uh to create your own things so what is
in there on the one hand side I said already there are Services included that you can directly use like for example we also integrate directly into our process
automation tools for document and text processing extracting information out of that you can directly use this service and then on the other hand side
with sap Hana if you look here at the bottom business data and context we providing the basis Technologies like with a vector engine the possibility to
calculate um vectors for Vector embeddings when we communicate with large language models with the knowledge graph engine where we can um really see
what are the um the connections um between different areas and different um things in our data uh to really provide
you the basis Technologies and then at the Center we have this AI life cycle management topic here which is mainly
our so-called generative AI Hub which is part of our AI Core service and this is really the solution that creates the
connection between foundational models like also large language models no matter if these are really public large models if they are offered by sap if you
have your own models here but you have the possibility to really create your own scenario on the one hand side getting access to them uh we are handling that for you so that's just uh
at the moment there are 25 models that we offer here so you do not have to have an individual contract with all of those model
providers uh you can then uh try in your scenarios you have an exploration environment where you can say what is
the best model for my purpose how should I structure my prompt uh do I want to do any embeddings how do I want to then also bring that into an application if I
want to make sure that the The Prompt is structured in a specific way if I want to make sure that specific embeddings will be done before the actual call to
the model uh is being done if I want to maybe mask some data or make sure that some data is not trans ported to those models this is exactly where the
generative AI Hub comes into play um and as said before here you get a short overview about the um models
that are included in this that you can use try out and embed into your scenarios and when I say embed this into
scenarios and talking about operating um AI models or AI scenarios it's also important to understand that
we are in in the end um working on this to make sure that your scenario is in
the end um decoupled from the from the um model behind to make sure that once those models will evolve in the public phase you still have the possibility to
use other models to evolve with the models that you have chosen to change models afterwards and so on uh so that is basically what The geni Hub is doing
and then providing the respective sdks into again our Solutions in build code in abup to make sure that you can also
for example call those functionalities like prompt engineering um or let's say prompt
framing or making templates bring that in a specific format or doing specific embeddings and you can embed this into
your um coding here for the business scenario and then the complete life cycle handling will take place inside AI
Core so that it really gets easier to maintain handle and operate those scenarios last but not least um two
minutes left platform Foundation very important uh these are the basic services that lie underneath all the different chapter that I was talking
about so we have three strategic runtimes Cloud Foundry which makes it really easy to focus on the business part without having further knowledge
about runtimes at all Kema on the other hand side a kubernetes based runtime that um allows you to operate also
scenarios that have really dedicated requirements to the run times and of course the ab environment and also when it comes to Def Ops then on the one hand
side some customers already have established pipelines and so on please use them we support this with with sap btp if you do not have those things
until now we also provide an easy entry into this world with our services here security really important on the one
hand side things like authentication authorization single sign on but on the other hand side also the compliance aspects of developments like I mentioned
for example being able to um to do audit logging or fulfilling data privacy regulations for gdpr or whatever persistency we were talking about Hana
Cloud as our main solution nevertheless if you have requirements to take postgress uh reddis Object Store also part of the platform for you available
to do your developments connectivity we're really focusing here on being on enabling you no matter if your uh applications you want to extend
or work with are on premise private cloud based public he based also the combination with a lot of hyperscaler services um we can directly integrate
then and of course the administration and operations the possibility to run your Solutions on on btp to also operate
the processes around uh entitling your dedicated users projects into using that and also automating this this is in our
area and now last but not least where do you get this from so we're working today today together with um the infra the
hyperscalers AWS um Azure and Google Cloud uh to provide our platform what we announced
is starting mid of 2025 we will also offer this btp so the multif cloud Foundation out of sap owned data
centers uh starting uh the middle of the year with a German Data Center and we have broader plans to also grow our data
center locations and also align the service availability of the different services in the different locations and
now Tanya I'm at my final slide just summing up uh what I told the audience today these are is a basic overview
about the capabilities of btp two more commments if you want to start try out uh see what can be done have a look at Discovery Center where you have the catalog of all our services but you also
get reference architectures and missions that help you do something on it and if you want to look at the content that we're providing so like the integration uh packages that we're
having please have a look at at the business accelerator Hub where you will find the connection of this business content and with
