hello friend welcome to marine engineering hub today I am going to explain you about the starting a system I'm going to give you the basic rough
idea how the starting here is admitted inside the cylinder unit okay now as you
can see here this is the compression okay to stage compression after the compression the air is collecting in the
receiver through a non-return valve okay and after the receiver the air is going
to the may wash today starting work okay this is a master shutting world and this is a slow turn wall now as you can see
this is the starting a control valve suppose when the starting is starting signal is given at that time it will go
through turning a interlocked first what it will see it will see whether the turning interlock is open or closed what
does it mean suppose either turning gear is English in that case it will pause here so starting signal will be stopped
but if the turning is disengaged it will send the signal to the distributor and a signal to the master a starting one now as you can see from the receiver here
the air is going to the master air starting world and it wetting it and instituting here now when the turning gear is distinguished in that case the
air will go and will send the signal yes the turning edges English then it will open the passage for the start starting here to go to the manifold starting a
manifold from there starting a manifold the air will go through to the each cylinder a starting value it okay it will go to the each cylinder air
starting value net and we'll wait here as you know that the air starting valve is a balance which to unit so here will go and
we'll remain here after that when the starting snail is given it will go to the a senior will go to the distributor and what it will see this is a basically
the distributor cam it is a negative cam and as the as you can see this is a several pilot well of different unit
suppose this is a number one unit pyat one now as you know that distributor cam is a negative cam so when the
distributor will come to the negative part number that you eat pilot will come to the negative slot it will be placed
downward okay in that case it will allow the air which is coming from manifold to pass through and will go and activate
that unit okay so from here so I'm starting a manifold it will go and it will see whether that cam is non negative or not after that it will the
pious air will go and it will go and will act on the operating piston top part of the air setting well as it will act on the top part of the operating
piston of air setting wall the system will get unbalanced and therefore more pressure will be acting on the downward side and we will open the air starting valve and the air from the starting a
manifold will be admitted to the cylinder unit for starting the engine okay so like this the starting air
system work okay basically now I'm going to show you the second slide you will see in this this is a basically a line diagram from compressor to air bottle
and the air how the air is going to the various purposes okay as you can see this is a twisted air compression from here all the safety has been shown that
this is a relief valve this is the SGR valve this is a relief ball as general valve okay high temperature cut or it means soon after the to stretch compression the air is going and
restoring the receiver in receiver as you can see there feasible plug is shown really very soon and the air is going for mania
starting going for Auclair starting the air is going for controller we sillier service here okay so basically the air
is going for several purposes okay now in this diagram also you can see as the air is been discharged it is passing through the oil separator in some cases
it is provided in some cases it is not provided basically what why also it is provided because of carry over after the second sis compression the oil that is
been eliminated by the help of the oil separated okay that is the purpose of all separated here and this is 30 bar air which is going for main engine air starting and
as I have shown you this same air is shown here which is going from in in air starting and it is going to starting a many for and that is going to the air
starting work after it gets the signal that turning against discing is or not now I have also wanted to tell you about the snow turning pond as you can see
these are slow turning valve which is provided with a bypass line okay as you can see with this for a bypass line basically this slow turning valve has a
system that suppose if the engine is kept in the ready radius condition for a period of time and it not been activated means the starting something not given
at that time the slow turning valve will send the air of 31 and will rotate the
engine in a slowly way very very very less rpm wanted to earth them so that to ensure that the there is no profit in
