Today I'm going to give you a simple five day plan that will help you study English even when you are alone.
Are you ready?
Well then let's jump right in.
Now for this five day plan, you must focus on five areas of study in order to speak English fluently.
Now the first area of study is vocabulary.
You see building a strong foundation of words, phrases, idioms, and expressions, helps you to communicate more effectively.
So part one is all about input, inputting the vocabulary, expressions, and idioms You need to speak English fluently.
Area number two.
Writing practice now learning to express your ideas clearly in written form, including the proper structure, coherence, and style.
This is all about output.
Day One of our five day plan is about input.
Day two is about output, writing down your ideas area number three.
Listening comprehension.
Now, this is all about developing the ability, your ability to understand spoken English in various contexts and accents.
You are used to my accent.
You are used to my pronunciation.
You are used to how I speak, but for listening comprehension, you want to get used to many different accents.
This is once again going back.
To input area one, vocabulary input.
Area two is all about writing output.
Area three.
Listing comprehension is all about input, which leads us to area number four.
Pronunciation, mastering sounds, stress patterns, intonation and rhythm to speak clearly and naturally.
This once again is output.
You're noticing a pattern.
Input output.
Input output, which leads us to area number five.
Study area number five is speaking practice actively using English to express your thoughts, your opinions, and ideas with confidence and fluency.
We have another output.
Area.
So again, vocabulary area number one.
Area number two, writing practice area number three, listing comprehension, area number four, pronunciation and area number five, speaking practice.
So what does this look like in our five day study plan?
Day number one, Monday, our vocabulary day.
So step number one, you're going to learn 10 to 15 new words.
Focus on vocabulary related to the weekly theme.
So you're picking a weekly theme.
You're going to write each word with its definition and and example sentence.
This is step one for our vocabulary day.
Step number two now is for you to create flashcards.
You're going to make digital or physical flashcards with the new words you've selected in step one to review throughout the week.
This is step number two, and then we have step.
Number three.
Step number three is use what you've learned in context.
You're going to write five original sentences using the new vocabulary words in meaningful contexts related to the thing.
These are the three steps for day number one of our five day study plan.
So now what does this actually look like?
So I'm gonna show you my notes.
So.
We have Monday.
Again, looking at my notes, we have Monday, our vocabulary day.
So the question is, what are my 10 words?
So let's look at the 10 words I selected.
Now I chose for my topic.
Daily routines.
Remember you wanna select a topic as well.
The 10 terms I selected are wake up.
Commute, productive, routine, hectic, wind down, prioritize, multitask.
Schedule and unwind.
Now remember, step two was to create a flashcard.
So I'm going to select number five, which was hectic, and I'm going to come down and create a flashcard using the term hectic.
So my example, flashcard for the word.
Hectic.
So the front is going to say hectic, and if I were to, let's draw an image of what the flashcard would look like.
So on the front of the flashcard, I'd write the word hectic.
Then on the back of the flashcard, I would write the definition.
The net definition being full of activity and very busy.
So that's my flashcard again, my 10 words, 10 to 15, I chose 10, and I selected one of them just to give you an example of a flashcard.
Then remember.
I need to use it in context, so I have the flashcard, but now I need to use it in context, so I'll make my own sentence.
Here's the sentence.
My mornings are always hectic because I have to prepare breakfast and get ready for work.
At the same time, what did I do?
I created my own sentence using the term, and I spoke about my day.
So we have each of the steps, we have the 10 words, then we have the flashcard right there.
And finally, we used the word in context.
This is day one of our five day study plan.
Again, the best way to learn when you're studying English alone.
This leads us to day number two.
Day number two is our writing practice day, and step number one for this day is to review Monday's vocabulary by spending five minutes reviewing the flashcards you created from Monday.
In order to reinforce the words, we're going back to review what was learned step number two.
Write a paragraph, compose a 150 to 200 word paragraph about the weekly theme, incorporating at least eight of Monday's vocabulary words.
Again, you're studying alone, but the way you're studying with this five day study plan is going to help you improve your English fluency.
And step number three, self.
Edit.
You're going to read your paragraph aloud, check for clarity and coherence, and identify areas for improvement in structure and word choice.
You'll be so amazed as you review your writing, how much you know and how much you can improve simply by checking your own work.
So.
Let's now check and see what mine would look like.
So we're moving now today, number two, Tuesday.
All right, so here is my sample paragraph.
Listen closely.
You'll hear some of the terms from Monday.
My daily routine is quite hectic, but I tried to stay productive by following a consistent schedule.
I wake up at 6:30 AM and immediately prioritize my morning tasks.
After a quick breakfast, I commute to work, which takes about 45 minutes.
During the commute, I often multitask by listening to podcasts or reviewing my daily goals.
My work routine keeps me busy throughout the day.
But I make sure to wind down in the evening by reading or taking a walk before bed.
I spent some time planning the next day's routine to ensure everything runs smoothly.
This consistent routine helps me unwind and feel more organized in my daily life.
We used Monday's vocabulary to speak about our day.
Now what makes this work?
Let me explain.
You see, the paragraph uses eight of Monday's vocabulary words in natural meaningful sentences.
The vocabulary is bolded, so you can see how each word fits into a real piece of writing.
So if you're looking at this with me on the YouTube video lesson, you can see that the words have been bolded.
This is why it's so powerful.
Again, Monday, you input the terms. Tuesday, you output by writing about your day using those terms. And this leads us to Wednesday, our listening comprehension day.
Wednesday starts with step number one listening comprehension.
Now find theme related content.
Again, find theme related content.
This is powerful.
You're going to listen to a five to 10 minute podcast video or audio clip related to the weekly theme that uses some of Monday's vocabulary.
We keep going back to what you learned a few days ago, right?
This is an important step leading to step number two.
Take notes while listening.
I want you to write down key points, phrases, and any of the vocabulary words you recognize from Monday.
Step number three.
Now, step number three is summarize.
Write a brief three to five sentence summary of what you heard using both Monday's vocabulary and Tuesday's writing skills.
This is so powerful.
So again, Wednesday is the listening comprehension day.
Now we're gonna jump back to my notes to see what this actually looks like.
But before we jump to my notes.
I wanna tell you something that most learners never realize.
15 minutes a day doesn't sound like much.
What I'm teaching you right now with this five day study plan.
It doesn't require a lot of time.
15 minutes a day doesn't sound like much, but 15 minutes today, plus 15 minutes tomorrow, plus the day after that in one year.
That's a completely.
Different version of you.
You see, the problem was never effort.
It was consistency and that my friend, is why I created the 365 day English fluency system.
This system gives you one clear lesson every day, so your progress compounds instead of being reset.
If you want to join and follow the system, all you have to do is go to speak English with Tiffani.com/ 3 6 5 system.
The link is also in the description.
Follow the system, be consistent, and you will achieve each and every one of your English goals.
Now let's check out my notes.
Looking at Wednesday's listening comprehension day.
So again, the recommended content, the one that I decided to focus on.
We have a podcast about morning routines of successful people, or a YouTube video titled How to Create an Effective Daily Schedule.
Now remember for this day listening comprehension, so we have some notes that were taken while listening to this audio.
So our first note is successful people wake up early around five to 6:00 AM.
Second, they prioritize exercise and a healthy breakfast.
Third most avoid a multitasking in the morning to stay focused.
Fourth.
Having a consistent routine reduces decision fatigue.
And finally, evening routines help people wind down and prepare for the next day.
So we have the recommended content, what I listened to or what I watched.
Then my notes.
As I listened, I took these notes.
Now we have the summary.
Remember, you want to write a summary, so I want you to listen closely to my summary.
Here we go.
The podcast discussed how successful individuals maintain productive daily routines by waking up early and prioritizing important tasks.
They emphasized that having a consistent schedule helps reduce stress and makes hectic days more manageable.
The speaker also mentioned that taking time to unwind in the evening is essential for maintaining a healthy routine.
I wrote a summary of what I listened to.
This is what you do on Wednesdays, again, listening comprehension days.
This leads us to Thursdays.
Thursdays are our pronunciation days, so step one for Thursday practice.
Monday's Vocabulary allowed now.
Read each vocabulary word and example sentence aloud, three times focusing on correct pronunciation, stress and intonation.
Step number two, record and compare.
Record and compare.
You're going to record yourself reading Tuesday's paragraph aloud.
Then listen back to identify pronunciation challenges.
This is why this five day study plan is so powerful.
You're constantly referencing what you learned on the previous day, and step number three.
Shadow native speakers.
You are going to play Wednesday's listening material and repeat what you hear immediately after.
This is called a shadowing technique, matching rhythm, and intonation.
So if we jump to my notes again and we look at Thursday, this is what I have for day four.
Okay?
Now again, recording practice is the focus, right?
Remember.
Recording yourself.
Reading Tuesday's paragraph aloud.
Remember Tuesday's paragraph.
We read it a few moments ago.
So you're gonna record yourself reading Tuesday's, paragraph aloud.
Then listen back and pay special attention to these areas you wanna make sure.
Pronouncing the word hectic properly, and the word productive, then stressing, prioritize, and routine.
Again, these are my notes.
If this were the paragraph or the topic I was studying, this would be my notebook, right?
Natural intonation, smooth transition.
Then again, shadow practice, playing Wednesday's, listening content and repeating what I hear.
Now, why does this matter?
Why is this so important?
This is important because Thursday connects everything your reading vocabulary from Monday in a paragraph from Tuesday while matching the rhythm of content from Wednesday.
By practicing aloud, these words start moving from your eyes to your mouth.
This five day study plan is powerful because it has the compounding effect building on what you learned before, which leads us today number five.
Day number five is the speaking practice day.
Step number one now for this is prepare a mini presentation.
You're gonna create a two to three minute talk about the weekly theme using Monday's vocabulary, incorporating ideas from Tuesday's writing, and Wednesday's listening.
Step number two now is you're going to practice aloud.
You're going to deliver your presentation out loud at least three times, even though you're alone.
Look at a mirror.
You can have your phone record you, but at least three times applying Thursday's pronunciation practice to speak clearly and naturally.
And step number three for Friday is.
Record your final version.
You're gonna record your presentation and listen back to evaluate your fluency, your vocabulary usage, and your pronunciation.
You're going to note the improvements for next week.
So what does this look like?
Let's now jump again to my notes.
So Friday is our speaking practice day.
So the mini presentation, I decided to title my mini presentation my ideal daily routine.
Now for my introduction, I decided to say today I'd like to share my ideal daily routine and explain how it helps me stay productive and organized.
This is going to be my introduction for my presentation.
Then I have three main points.
Again, you want to organize the information before you actually start giving the presentation.
So for me, I said my main points are morning routine.
I wake up at 6:00 AM because early mornings are less.
Hectic.
There's the one term I prioritize, exercise and a healthy breakfast to start my day energized.
Then I move to my work routine, and finally my evening routine.
I'm organizing my three main points.
Then I go to organize my conclusion.
My conclusion, I'll read.
Having a well-planned routine has transformed my daily life from chaotic to organized, and I encourage everyone to find a routine that works for them.
You see how we've built on what you started doing on Monday.
Now on Friday, everything is connected.
I want you to pay attention to these practice tips when you are practicing or giving your presentation.
I want you to one, speak naturally, not too fast.
Number two, use appropriate pauses between main points, the power of the pause.
Number three, make eye contact.
Imagine talking to a friend.
Number four, use hand gestures to emphasize key vocabulary.
And number five, record and listen to areas that you need to improve in.
This is your five day study plan.
Even when you're alone, you can still improve your English fluency.
I hope you enjoy this lesson and I'll talk to you in the next one.
You still there?
You know what time it is?
It's story time.
I said it story time.
Alright, so this is a shorter story, but it's a story that shows you why.
It explains, it gives you context to understand why I am so passionate about being an English teacher, why I'm so passionate about giving you plans, giving you systems, helping you achieve your goals.
I have literally always been like this.
So this happened when I was in college and it was something that happened very often, but I'll tell you about one situation.
This was back in 2001 or 2002.
I was in college and at that time I was in a class that was dealing with sociology.
Great teacher, loved him, one of my favorite teachers, and we were preparing for an exam.
Now, what I did.
For every exam, I would create a study guide.
Now, this study guide was just something I used to help me prepare for an exam.
So every exam I took, I would create a study guide.
So the way I teach you now, teaching you a plan for achieving your goals, being English fluently, I've been doing this my entire life, so I'm just giving to you what has worked for me throughout my entire life.
So.
For this one specific exam, I created a study plan.
And these study plans, they weren't, they weren't short study plans, they were pages 10, 15, 20 pages.
Because I would review the chapter, review all the lessons, I would write questions on all of the main topics.
So there would be over a hundred questions with the answers below the questions.
And I would use this as a study guide as I was preparing for the exam.
Now.
Something I've always done is to help other people.
I love helping others.
Again, this is because I'm a Christian and I've always tried to emulate Christ.
I'm a Christian.
I believe in Jesus, and Jesus helped other people.
When I look at Jesus and how he lived on this earth, I say to myself, I wanna be like that.
Which is why I'm happy to teach you as your English teacher.
So when I was in college, I was the same again because of Christ, not because of me.
So I would create the full study plan and I would hand it out to my classmates.
So I remember one night now, if you watched my lesson last week, you heard the story I told you about me talking in my sleep.
I've always been an early bird, so I go through phases of, well, I'll go to bed super, super early, and then other phases, well, I'll just go to bed early.
So this night, because it was right before an exam, I think I may have gotten into bed at about seven 30 because I was planning to get up at 3:00 AM to review my study plan before the test.
I studied very well in the morning, so I went to bed at about seven 30 and maybe around 10 30 my phone rang.
Now I will wake up.
This time I actually woke up and I was at Wide awake and it was a guy that was in my class.
He said, Hey Tiff, somebody told me that you created a study plan for our exam tomorrow.
I'm so sorry it's late.
Would you mind if I get a copy from you?
I immediately said, of course, why I want everyone to succeed.
I don't just wanna get an A. I want everyone in class to get an A. It makes
me happy to see other people succeed.
I'm telling this to you.
So I said, oh, of course.
So I got up and I took the file to him.
I put it on A USB, did we have USB?
I took it on, put it on A USB, and I gave him the file and I said, I hope you pass the test and gave it to him.
Went back upstairs and I fell back asleep.
And then the next morning I woke up and I studied, and he did well on the exam.
As I remember that story.
That situation pops up into my mind very often because it's so amazing that I'm doing the exact same thing I was doing back in 2001.
Finding joy, finding pleasure, literally loving having the ability to help others.
By creating plans, creating systems, helping individuals realize how their brains work, so that they can achieve a goal simply by following a plan or a system.
So that story still makes me happy, and hopefully it helps you understand why I am so passionate about helping you achieve your goal and why usually speak about plans or systems or organizing your thoughts.
I'll talk to you in the next lesson.
