If you've been following the trend lately, you'll see that everyone's trying to build their next million-dollar app. But there's this
million-dollar app. But there's this little corner in your browser that don't get much attention, but it's quietly printing money. And these are Chrome
printing money. And these are Chrome extensions. And just to give you some
extensions. And just to give you some examples, this Chrome extension Jet Writer AI makes $15,000 a month. And
there's this one called GoFullPage that makes $120,000 a year. And there's
another one here called Pretty Prompt.
And this one made $300,000 in the first 60 days of launching it. And the good news today is that you can easily create these Chrome extensions with Claude, even if you don't know how to code. And
in this video, I'm going to build it live using Claude Co-work, so you can follow along and you can see all the prompts that I'm using. And I'm also going to show you how to publish it and get it live in the Chrome Web Store, ready to go. And again, you can do this
even if you've never written a line of code in your life before. I'm not a programmer and I did this in 10 minutes.
Now, before we build anything, let's take a look at some of these Chrome extensions and see what they actually do. So, this one's Jet Writer AI and
do. So, this one's Jet Writer AI and this one's doing 15K per month. And this
is basically a ChatGPT wrapper where, let's say you're writing an email on Gmail and you want to get ChatGPT to help you write it or respond to an email. So, what most people do is
email. So, what most people do is they'll just copy what they have, they paste into ChatGPT, ask it to rewrite it and then copy it back. There's a lot of back and forth, but if you have this Chrome extension, Jet Writer will
actually put a small bar directly inside of Gmail, so the AI can respond for you right on the platform. So, right? So,
you're not switching tabs and it works on any website, not just Gmail. And what
about this one? This one's kind of interesting. It's a tool that
interesting. It's a tool that screenshots any page on the internet and stitch it together and turn it into a PDF. And this one makes $120,000 a year.
PDF. And this one makes $120,000 a year.
Now, I think that this is a very useful Chrome extension cuz I run into this issue quite on a daily basis. So, for
example, if I'm on this page, wired.com, let's say I want to take a screenshot of the entire page here, it will take a lot of time, right? I have to screenshot this area and then scroll down a bit more, screenshot again, screenshot
again. You'll end up with five to six
again. You'll end up with five to six files on your desktop and you probably have to stitch it together manually. But
if you have this Chrome extension, what it will do is that it will actually scroll down this page automatically and take screenshots of everything and it will stitch the whole thing together and
give you one image file. And then you can save it as a PDF or PNG, right? So,
it saves a lot of time and it's just a one-click operation. Now, the third one
one-click operation. Now, the third one here is called Pretty Prompt. So, this
is the one that made $300,000 in the first 60 days of launching it. And they
launched in AppSumo here. So, it was a lifetime deal, but now they've switched out to a monthly subscription here. All
right, so what this does is actually pretty interesting as well. So, if
you're on ChatGPT or Claude or whatever it is that you use, if you ask a question, most people are not going to elaborate their question, so it's usually something short. And if you don't give the AI enough context, it's not going to give you the best response,
right? So, what this Chrome extension
right? So, what this Chrome extension will do is that it will take your prompt and it will expand it automatically. So,
there's just so many ideas with Chrome extensions that a lot of people overlook. And what I love about these
overlook. And what I love about these apps is that these tools, they solve a tiny problem, right? And in my opinion, these are the best kinds of apps. They
just solve one problem for one very specific type of customer, right? You
can call it micro-SaaS or a one-feature app, but it's just a tool that solves one specific problem instead of a tool that solves 100 different problems. And thanks to AI, apps like these are way easier and faster to build. And for
today's video, we're actually going to clone this app here, GoFullPage, and we're going to build it from scratch in about 10 minutes using Claude Co-work.
Now, to build the app, you're going to want to be on Claude's paid plans here, either the Pro or Max. I think the Pro is very sufficient for this. It's 17
bucks a month with annual subscription.
And you also want to download the desktop app here. So, if you're Mac OS, you can click here or if you're Windows, there's a separate link for that cuz this is not going to work on the browser. Now, if you don't have it yet,
browser. Now, if you don't have it yet, you want to download this and it's very easy to install. And once you have it installed, you're going to see something like this. Now, before we build
like this. Now, before we build anything, I just want to quickly explain the three main products for Claude because I think a lot of beginners, they get confused here, right? So, if you look to the top, you're going to see
three tabs, chat, co-work, and code. So,
the first tab that you're going to see is Claude chat. So, this is the one that most people use. You type in a question, it answers your questions and that's all it does, right? It talks to you, it explains things, but it's not going to
do anything. Now, all the way to the
do anything. Now, all the way to the right is Claude code. So, this is the most powerful version of Claude. So, you
can ask it to build things, you can write files, and make changes to a project that you're doing, right? The
downside is that it runs on a terminal and the word code, it scares a lot of people off, which is fair. So, Claude
created a third one called Co-work. And
this is what we're going to be using today, right? So, think of this as the
today, right? So, think of this as the middle ground. The interface, it looks
middle ground. The interface, it looks exactly like Claude chat, so it's very familiar to a lot of people. But unlike
Claude chat, you can actually work inside a folder on your computer. So,
you can create files, you can make changes, you can build things for you.
And that is the key difference here. Now
we have that out of the way, let's start building. By the way, if you like this
building. By the way, if you like this idea, you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg cuz I'm always digging into new business ideas, especially things that you can build using AI that makes money.
But honestly, I can't turn every single idea into a YouTube video. So, a lot of the best ideas don't make it to the channel, but they go straight to my newsletter instead. This is where I
newsletter instead. This is where I track and share fresh business ideas, ideas that are already making people money. So, if you want to be the first
money. So, if you want to be the first to know about these before they go mainstream, join my free newsletter.
It's completely free, link down below.
All right, so step number one is you want to connect Claude Co-work to a folder on your computer, right? So, you
can click here and then you want to choose a different folder. And I'm just going to pick this folder here that I just created recently. This It's
basically just an empty folder sitting on your desktop that I want Claude Co-work to work on, right? So, it's
going to save all the files here where you're going to use all these files later on and upload it to Chrome Web Store, all right? So, I'm going to click open and then hit always allow because you want it to allow give permissions
basically to Claude to access this folder. All right, so we have this
folder. All right, so we have this connected. Now, the other thing I want
connected. Now, the other thing I want to mention is the model to use, right?
So, a lot of people have questions on which model to actually use for which projects. So, obviously, 4.6 Opus here
projects. So, obviously, 4.6 Opus here is the most capable model from Claude, but it's going to consume a lot of tokens. And for something like the
tokens. And for something like the Chrome extension that we're building today, we actually don't need Opus 4.6.
You can use Sonnet 4.6. It's more than capable for something like this, right?
Unless you're building something complex and it has a lot of logic, you want to use 4.6, but just be aware that it's going to consume more tokens. And
sometimes I use Haiku for even simpler tasks like writing emails or just fetching data from the internet, but for this, we want to build a Chrome extension and I'm going to pick Sonnet 4.6. All right, so we're ready to prompt
4.6. All right, so we're ready to prompt now. Now, I have the prompt ready and
now. Now, I have the prompt ready and I'm going to paste it here. And by the way, this is a very simple uh prompt and I'm going to walk you through what I have. So, basically, build me a Chrome
have. So, basically, build me a Chrome extension that copies the core functionality of GoFullPage and I gave it the URL to the Chrome extension that we want to copy. Also, I just added the
core functionality that it should have.
For example, you want to add a camera icon to the Chrome toolbar, right? When
clicked, scroll through the entire website automatically, taking screenshot of each section, stitch all the screenshots together into one full-length image cuz that That's what we want. And you want to open a new tab
we want. And you want to open a new tab on the Chrome showing the complete screenshot. And I also want the user to
screenshot. And I also want the user to be able to download it as a PNG or a PDF or copy it to the clipboard. And also
work via keyboard shortcut, Alt Shift and P, right? So, very simple and let's hit go. All right, so it is thinking.
hit go. All right, so it is thinking.
So, if you actually click on this, you you'll be able to see what it's actually doing, right? So, user wants to build a
doing, right? So, user wants to build a Chrome extension and it's going to think about the architecture and all these things, right? And then it's going to
things, right? And then it's going to tell you what it's doing and creating all these files and it's going to save everything in the uh folder that we just created and connected to Claude Co-work. So, I'm
just going to wait for a couple more minutes for it to finish everything. But
in the meantime, you can actually go to Chrome Web Store here and you want to create a new extension so it's ready to go when Claude is finished. So, this is the URL that you want to go to. You just
want to type in chrome/extensions.
And this is the page where you can see all the extensions that you have installed. Now, I want to click on
installed. Now, I want to click on developer mode here and that will reveal couple of options, right? We can load unpack, pack extension, or update. Now,
this is the thing that we want to click later on once it's ready. And now I'm going to check back on Claude if it's done. All right, so it is still working,
done. All right, so it is still working, but now you can see the progress, right?
You can see that it's going to complete six steps here and you can see exactly which step it's on right now. And I
think it's just crazy to see how it's working. I didn't touch a single button
working. I didn't touch a single button and it's doing every single thing, right? And if you guys look down here,
right? And if you guys look down here, the second bar here, this is actually the folder that we connected to Claude.
So, if I click on this, going to contain all these files that were just created by Claude just now, right? So, you can see the previews here and I can verify that it is actually created all those files. All right, so it looks like it's
files. All right, so it looks like it's done. So, everything checks out. Your
done. So, everything checks out. Your
extension is ready at this link here.
And it even gives you a couple of steps on how to publish this, right? So,
this is the link that we went to earlier. I'm going to go back to the
earlier. I'm going to go back to the Chrome extension page and I'm going to click on load unpack. And this is the folder that was created inside of the Chrome extension folder that we just created, right? So, if I click on this,
created, right? So, if I click on this, I want to verify that everything is here, right? So, I'm going to click on
here, right? So, I'm going to click on the entire folder and hit select. And
now it says extension loaded and I can see the Chrome extension here. All
right, so let's check if this works, right? So, if I go to extensions here, I
right? So, if I go to extensions here, I want to make sure that this is pinned.
So, this is the one so that the icon appears here, right? So, let's go to wire and let's go to the top here and let's click on this Chrome extension.
All right, so that was quick and now you can actually see it here. So, if I click on this, and it actually did screenshot the entire thing, right?
Let's verify that. So, that's awesome.
Now, the only thing that it didn't do is actually it didn't open this to a new tab cuz I want to see this on a new tab before I download it to just to verify it cuz I did say that in the original
prompt here. So, I'm just going to
prompt here. So, I'm just going to prompt it again. So, I'll just say the Chrome extension works.
But, I want you to open a new tab showing the complete screenshot before I download it.
And hit enter. And then it's going to try to edit the code, right? Now, the
beauty of using Cloud Code Work is that you can ask it to fix things that don't work, right? And it's good that we run
work, right? And it's good that we run to errors today cuz I want to show you how to actually fix things when you get into errors cuz you will get errors when you're trying to build things, right? All
right. So, it looks like it's done. So,
I'm going to go back to Chrome extension and you don't need to upload anything.
Just have to click on this reload button here and that should update all the files basically. So, I did that and
files basically. So, I did that and let's go back to Wired here.
And let's refresh and let's click on the icon here.
And it's doing it.
All right, and it opened a new tab on Chrome. So, that's perfect, exactly the
Chrome. So, that's perfect, exactly the way that I wanted. Now, what if you want to add features? You want to make the experience a lot better. So, I want to give an example of how you can prompt it
to improve on your basic app here. So,
what I'm thinking about is when I click on this icon, what I want to happen is to for it to show a small window here.
And also maybe a button that says capture screen and then when I click on it, I want to see an animated progress bar so I know that it's working. And
then when it's done, it opens a new tab and it shows me this result, right? So,
I can go back to Claude and I'll just say when I click on the icon, I want you to show a small drop down and a button that says capture screen. When click,
show an animated progress bar and when done, open a new tab with the result.
And hit go and I'm going to let it cook.
All right. So, that is done and I'm going to refresh everything and then go back to this website here. All right.
I'm going to refresh this page and let me click on the icon again. There you
go. So, we got the drop down here which is exactly what I wanted and the capture screen and let's click on this.
All right. So, we saw the progress bar.
Now, it ran into this error here. So,
not a huge problem. So, I'm going to have Claude fix this as well, right? So,
two things that people normally do, you can just take a screenshot of this error and upload it to Claude. If you do that, you're going to burn a lot of tokens, uh your tokens very very quickly. So, the
other thing that I like to do is that if I see the error message here, I just click right click on this error message, hit inspect. I just want to copy that in
hit inspect. I just want to copy that in text format so that I don't burn through my tokens quickly. So, I'm just going to copy that
quickly. So, I'm just going to copy that and go to Claude and say, "Ran into this error when clicking on capture button." And just
capture button." And just paste this error and let it fix. So, it's going to understand and it's going to troubleshoot the error here and it's going to have a fix and update all the files automatically. So, I'm just going
files automatically. So, I'm just going to give it a few minutes to fix that issue.
So, apparently Chrome has a limiter of two calls per second, whatever this means. So, you basically need to wait
means. So, you basically need to wait longer between screenshots which is totally fine. So, it's not going to
totally fine. So, it's not going to update the code and then let's see what happens. Now, let me go back to the
happens. Now, let me go back to the Chrome extension page and hit reload and then I'm going to also reload this page and then see if the error is still there.
All right. I think it looks like it's working fine.
Perfect. And it opened a new tab and now I can download all these files, right?
Amazing, right? So, I think we did that in like about 10-15 minutes without touching a single line of code. Now, if
you're using this yourself, it's good to go. It lives on your Chrome browser.
go. It lives on your Chrome browser.
But, if you want to make it live, you want to make it available to the public, here's another step that you want to take to publish the Chrome extension.
So, you want to go to this page. The URL
is developer.chrome.com/docs/webstore.
And you want to scroll it down and you want to go to the developer dashboard.
And if you're doing this for the first time, it's going to ask you to pay a one-time $5 registration fee. So, it is five bucks. You pay it once and it
five bucks. You pay it once and it covers every extension that you ever publish in the future. You never have to pay this again. And once you pay this, you want to go back to the folder that contains all the files, right click on
the folder, compress the folder, basically zip it up, and then you want to just upload it and that's it. And
after you're done, you're probably going to need to fill in some details about the extension, you know, all the name, the icon, everything. And takes just couple minutes and you're going to have to wait for Google to manually review
your extension before it goes live.
Usually it takes about two to five days, but you'll get an email once it's approved. Now, the extension that we
approved. Now, the extension that we built is obviously very basic, but it's also a real problem, right? And
sometimes the best ideas, they come from solving our own problems and you'll be surprised that millions of other people are struggling with the same thing. Now,
if you're building something like this, you probably need a landing page to show people what your app does and you want to add some pricing, connect it to Stripe. And yes, you can also build it
Stripe. And yes, you can also build it with Claude. And I actually made a video
with Claude. And I actually made a video on how to create websites using Claude step-by-step, including how to publish it live on the internet. So, if you want to check that out, click here and I'll see you there.
