right place. I'm Jimmy with Andrew.
Welcome to Freshly Charged. In today's
video, we're going to share with you our experiences with all 12 robot lawnmowers that we've reviewed on this channel, and we're going to tell you some lessons that we've learned, some important
lessons that you should know before buying your first robot lawn mower. Then
we're going to break down each one talking about their strengths, their weaknesses, and hand out some awards to some of our favorite robot lawnmowers.
Before we jump into this, let's answer the question, Andrew, what are the benefits of having a robot lawnmower?
Biggest thing for me is just saving time. I have two kids underneath 2 years
time. I have two kids underneath 2 years old, and I would prefer to spend two extra hours with them a week than mow my lawn. Second biggest reason is it makes
lawn. Second biggest reason is it makes your lawn look great, and it makes it look like it's freshly cut all the time.
You get to save time with these robot lawn mowers. They do the work so you can
lawn mowers. They do the work so you can do what you want to do or what you need to do and you get to have a great looking lawn. The reason why we're able
looking lawn. The reason why we're able to ride all those scooters, all those electric dirt bikes, those electric unicycles is because we don't have to spend time mowing our lawns. If you
think about major inventions that have really freed us up, the washing machine, the dishwasher, the microwave, this is the next step. Let's go ahead and start out with how you go about choosing your
robot lawn mower. Choosing your first robot lawn mower can be a pretty daunting task. If you just put in a
daunting task. If you just put in a simple Google search, you're going to have a ton of different results and it's going to be really overwhelming. But let
us tell you, after having reviewed 12 robot lawnmowers, I think there is a way that you can go about it systematically that's going to help take away some of the frustration and the confusion. First
off, start with your yard size. figure
out how big your yard is and go from there. Because there are mowers that can
there. Because there are mowers that can do large yards and we've arranged our mowers like this. In the back row, we have mowers that can do medium to large
yards. And then the front row, we have
yards. And then the front row, we have mowers that are great for small to medium-sized yards. So, basically, look
medium-sized yards. So, basically, look at it as like you're a UFC fighter. What
kind of fighter do you need for your fight? Are you going with small to
fight? Are you going with small to average weight class or are you going the average to large weight class? Once
you figured out how large your yard is and what size of a mower you need, then you can look at the pricing. Some mowers
can start under $1,000. Other mowers can be well over 34 $5,000. And then there's everything in between. See what fits your budget best. After that, think
about your yard. Do you have rough terrain? Are you nice, even, and flat?
terrain? Are you nice, even, and flat?
Do you have trees? Do you have good Wi-Fi signal? And then lastly, you'll
Wi-Fi signal? And then lastly, you'll want to look at the different name brands. There are a lot of robot mowers
brands. There are a lot of robot mowers out there. Some of them are startups
out there. Some of them are startups that are just getting going. Others have
been established and they have a reputation of being a good quality mower. All these things you'll want to
mower. All these things you'll want to take into consideration when choosing your robot lawn mower. We've made review videos on all of these mowers and so if
you want granular indepth detail then check out those mower videos. We'll have
it down in the description for you to check out. Oh, the other thing if you're
check out. Oh, the other thing if you're looking at a robot lawn mower and it requires you to lay down perimeter wire or boundary wire then avoid it at all cost because that tech is old. All of
these either use an RTK system which is a satellite or they use lidar or vision based system or a combination of both.
We also have one mower that's controlled by a remote control. This is the Navim Mo I 110. It's a very simple design, perfect for small yards, mainly because
of the battery size and because of the way it cuts and so it's going to be a little messy here. I haven't cleaned this one in a while. One spinning disc with three blades. If you're not
familiar with robot lawnmowers, most of them use these little kind of razor blades. They're effective, affordable,
blades. They're effective, affordable, easy to replace. You can find it on Amazon. You can find on Segway's
Amazon. You can find on Segway's website. Normally, this runs for under
website. Normally, this runs for under $1,000. It's a very simple machine.
$1,000. It's a very simple machine.
Manual dial to change the height of your blade. It uses vision a little bit to
blade. It uses vision a little bit to navigate to see where it's going, but its main navigation system is using RTK and the satellites. What I love best
about this is it's simple, it's durable, and it lasts. We've had this for 2 years. I love that it's lightweight. Its
years. I love that it's lightweight. Its
simplicity makes it pretty lightweight, so you can pick it up and move it to different sections of your yard if there are barriers that keep it from going on its own. It's a dependable machine that
its own. It's a dependable machine that is backed by Navimo, which is a subsidiary of Segue. But let's talk about the drawbacks. There's no real handle. Even though it's lightweight,
handle. Even though it's lightweight, you think this is a handle, but this is actually where it goes to charge.
There's no way to grab this. To pick it up, I actually have to lift it from underneath, right? Not difficult, but
underneath, right? Not difficult, but something so small and compact, I would like a handle in either the front or the back. These single discs, you're getting
back. These single discs, you're getting about an 8 in uh 6 7 8 in diameter wide stripe on your lawn. So, it's a narrow stripe, and that is going to be a
problem with all these smaller mowers that just use one cutting disc. But, if
you just have a small yard and you don't mind the narrow lines, this thing does a great job. And another issue with this
great job. And another issue with this is it's only two wheel drive. So if you have steep inclines or you have lots of divots in your yard, you're going to run into issues with it getting stuck. Now,
with a Wi-Fi connection, if you live somewhere where you have poor Wi-Fi or no Wi-Fi connection, all of these mowers that use Wi-Fi, you can opt for the cellular option. Some of these mowers,
cellular option. Some of these mowers, it's free for a year or a month, but after that, you'll have to pay a small fee to have that feature. We need to talk about maintenance. These robot
lawnmowers are not maintenancefree.
Obviously, there's no fuels that need to be changed. You don't have to winterize
be changed. You don't have to winterize it, but you have to make sure they you keep updating them. You change the blades and you regularly clean the bottom. Each mower will be different,
bottom. Each mower will be different, but in general, you just want to clean it off because stuff can build up and it makes the mower less efficient, less effective. Luckily, on just about all
effective. Luckily, on just about all these mowers, the app will remind you to do that maintenance. The UI E18 has been the surprise of the group. It does not
use an RTK system. One of the few mowers that we have that does not use an RTK satellite system. Instead, this uses a
satellite system. Instead, this uses a visionbased system. So, kind of like the
visionbased system. So, kind of like the Tesla cars, their robo taxis or when you put them in autonomous driving mode, this uses cameras to see where to go and
to navigate. This is the easiest mower
to navigate. This is the easiest mower to map. Put it down, ask it to map. It
to map. Put it down, ask it to map. It
recognizes where the charging pad is, and then it just maps the yard all on its own. Pretty darn amazing that it
its own. Pretty darn amazing that it doesn't need to connect to any satellites. It just sees where your yard
satellites. It just sees where your yard is, where the boundary of the grass is, and then through the app, you can fine-tune it. You can tell it where if
fine-tune it. You can tell it where if your yard blends with your neighbor's yard. You can tell it where to end to
yard. You can tell it where to end to draw boundaries. The easiest mower to
draw boundaries. The easiest mower to set up by far. This mower is great for little lawns. And so if you have a
little lawns. And so if you have a little lawn, pretty simple terrain. This
mower is even simpler than the Segway.
You have the one single cutting disc with the three blades. You have the one caster wheel and then your two wheels in the back that drive it. I set this up at my sister's house at the beginning of
the summer and then I said bye to my sister and I never heard about this again. It just did its thing. So, it was
again. It just did its thing. So, it was not I did not get one call from my sister about how do I do this or it got stuck or it's wandering. Either she was able to figure it out and she's not very
tech-savvy. Love you little sis. Or it
tech-savvy. Love you little sis. Or it
just fixed itself. And so, I love that it's smart enough to use vision to see where to go to map. Simple setup, simple design, simple to use, and it just
works. What I don't like about it, I
works. What I don't like about it, I just wish that they made this so that it could do a bigger yard. RTKbased mowers
have issues if you put the mowers up against houses, if you have tons of tree coverage. The UI E18 is by far the best
coverage. The UI E18 is by far the best mower that we found that works when you have tons of coverage like trees or tall buildings. Now, the drawbacks to this is
buildings. Now, the drawbacks to this is it needs a simple area to work. And so
if you have complex terrain, it will get stuck because it's pretty simple down here. If you need this to mow, let's
here. If you need this to mow, let's say, your front yard, which is separated from your backyard by steps or by rocks, you can't do it because this has to be
within line of sight and within driving ability from its station so that it knows where it is because everything is in relation to where its station is. And
if you lift it up to move it to the front yard to mow while an RTKbased system can figure it out because they're using satellites, this guy gets lost.
And so I wish that they sold or had second base stations so I can set a base station in my front of my house and in the back of the house so that I could easily lift this up, which I can because
this comes with a handle. I could lift this up, take it to my front yard, throw it on the ground, and just have it use its smart navigation system, its vision based system to continue mowing. This is
the MMO Luma Mini, and it's the only all-wheel drive mower in the small to medium class. And let's just go ahead
medium class. And let's just go ahead and do a quick walkthrough of this mower. Front suspension, which is pretty
mower. Front suspension, which is pretty cool.
One of the few mowers that actually has suspension. Motor in all four tires. And
suspension. Motor in all four tires. And
in the front, it has these rollers so it can make tight turns. One of the few robot lawnmowers with a removable battery. So, if the battery ever goes
battery. So, if the battery ever goes bad 5 years down the road, you can just simply replace it. On the bottom of this mower is a single rotating disc with razor blades. And it also has adjustable
razor blades. And it also has adjustable height that's not manual, so you can adjust it through the app. I have a lot of river rock at my house, and all these two wheel drive mowers cannot make it over it. My favorite things about this
over it. My favorite things about this mower is that it's all-wheel drive and can tackle steep terrain and climb over river rock. The other really cool thing
river rock. The other really cool thing about the mowers is Mad Motion makes some of the sexiest, sleekst mowers out there. This almost looks like a mini
there. This almost looks like a mini race car. Really nice handles to lift it
race car. Really nice handles to lift it up. It is a little bit heavier. So,
up. It is a little bit heavier. So,
that's the one downside is it's heavier.
RTK stations can also be a little bit spotty. I have three large pine trees at
spotty. I have three large pine trees at my house. And one thing I do find with
my house. And one thing I do find with RTKbased mowers, they do tend to lose satellite coverage when they get underneath these large trees. But
overall, it's a great mower and has one of our favorite apps. They did introduce an auto mapap feature on the Luba Mini.
E18 auto mapping is so much better than the MM motion automapping that they have. Hopefully an update can fix that,
have. Hopefully an update can fix that, but currently it's not that great. And
speaking about updating, just about all these mowers that we have here, they're constantly getting updated. And so these companies, they stand behind their product and they're constantly working to make their products better. And so
the Luba Mini with its all-wheel drive, it's full suspension. It's the only one in this small to average yard class that can do that. It's great for yards that have complex terrain. One step down from
the Luba Mini is the Yuka Mini. This is
kind of the small brother, and this guy is great for small yards. It uses RTK and this vision based system. And if you
lift it up, we can see what's under the hood. Here we have five blades on one
hood. Here we have five blades on one single disc. So you're going to get the
single disc. So you're going to get the narrow stripes. You have two caster
narrow stripes. You have two caster wheels in front. And if we just compare this side by side by its main competition, remember this just had the
three blades on one disc. So just three blades on one disc as opposed to the six uh the five blades. So you'll have to be changing these blades out more
frequently. And here you have the caster
frequently. And here you have the caster wheels in back, whereas here you have the caster wheels in front. And this
does have a handle in the front, but it's a really bad placement. As you can see, my whole hand turns green. While it
does come with a handle, the positioning is poor because it's right where everything collects, including grass clippings or if you have a dog, I I won't have to tell you what may collect
under there. It's lightweight. It's
under there. It's lightweight. It's
portable. It looks great. It's a
goodlooking tiny little mower. All the
all the neighbors love it. They're like,
"Wow, that thing looks so futuristic.
It's like a little Mars rover." I don't know if having five little blades works better than three little blades, but intuitively, I think it just makes sense that it should and that these blades
should last longer. I also love that right back here you can access to take out the old battery and put in a new battery. If you need to ever replace
new battery. If you need to ever replace the battery, you can do it yourself. It
would take you under 5 minutes. The
drawbacks it suffers from the same problems that the RTKbased mowers have is you need to be able to connect to satellite. And if you have thick big
satellite. And if you have thick big trees or if it's a really cloudy day, sometimes it struggles connecting to the satellites. If you don't like narrow
satellites. If you don't like narrow stripes, this is still going to cut narrow stripes. With the little caster
narrow stripes. With the little caster wheels and just the two wheel drive, if you have a complex yard, this is going to struggle. So, at the time of making
to struggle. So, at the time of making this video, we just checked, normally goes for about $1,100. You can get this on sale sometimes for under a,000. I
think right now it's about $750, which is a steal for this. I think if I had to choose between this and the Segway, you know, this thing looks much sleeker.
It's much newer. Both come with great apps. It would be a difficult decision,
apps. It would be a difficult decision, but um I would say I I really do like the way that this one looks. So, let's
move on to the next one. the last in the little mower class. Andrew, what do we have here?
Yeah, we have the Yuka, the full size version. So, it's just a bigger version
version. So, it's just a bigger version of this. Thing that sets this apart in
of this. Thing that sets this apart in its class is it has two mini disc that have three blades on it. So, before
you'd get a narrow about 8 in stripe here, you're probably getting a 12 in stripe, maybe, maybe even more.
Has a front caster wheel, a motor in each wheel in the rear, an actual windshield wiper for the camera in the front, camera in the rear, and then a handle in the rear. So, this handle does make it nice. It doesn't look like
there's any type of bumper system, but it's this whole body will push back and stop the mower. But one neat feature that makes this stand out from all the other mowers is it has a bag collecting
and sweeper function where you can connect this on the rear. This has its own battery. So, that is pretty cool.
own battery. So, that is pretty cool.
Essentially, what it does is it hooks onto here. Now, you put the bag on it
onto here. Now, you put the bag on it and it can collect grass clippings, leaves. Essentially, that works as a
leaves. Essentially, that works as a yard sweeper. rotates and it basically
yard sweeper. rotates and it basically sweeps everything on your yard. It's
great for say fall when you have a lot of leaves that have fallen on the ground and you don't want to rake. You just
have this guy sweep and it'll actually dump everything in its designated dumping spot. It is sold separately. So,
dumping spot. It is sold separately. So,
just realize that does not come with this mower. Let's dive deep into this
this mower. Let's dive deep into this mower. Man, these things are just
mower. Man, these things are just absolutely gorgeous that Mad Motion's designing. The two mowing disc really
designing. The two mowing disc really helps for creating that clean look, especially when you do the cross patterns on your yard. But some
downfalls for this mower for me is although this is the biggest mower out of all the mowers in this class, the battery isn't that big. Let's talk about the next category. This is the Motion
Workhorse. I've been using this guy for
Workhorse. I've been using this guy for a long time. He's actually been mowing my yard in the back for 2 years now. I
left him out all winter. He got snowed on. He got rained on. he got hailed on.
on. He got rained on. he got hailed on.
And while that is not recommended, you should have some sort of cover or you should actually put these away for the winter, I just wanted to see how these guys would do. And the durability was
very admirable. This is the Luba 2, an
very admirable. This is the Luba 2, an all-wheel drive beast. This is the full-sized version of the Luba Mini, which we talked about earlier. I love
the all-wheel drive. I love the suspension. I love the omnidirectional
suspension. I love the omnidirectional wheels. I love that it has
wheels. I love that it has the front wheel lifted, the robot tilted.
It looks like these need to be cleaned up a little bit. And this goes back to the maintenance. All these mowers are
the maintenance. All these mowers are going to require a little bit of maintenance. Okay, you cannot totally
maintenance. Okay, you cannot totally ignore these guys. But I love the dual discs. These are bigger dual discs than
discs. These are bigger dual discs than the Yuka. And it makes very nice
the Yuka. And it makes very nice stripes. When this guy is operating,
stripes. When this guy is operating, this has some of the nicest lawn stripes of any of the mowers. So, my buddy has a huge yard. In the initial review, we
huge yard. In the initial review, we tested this on his yard. His property is just about an acre and there are a lot of ruts, a lot of divots, a lot of
imperfections on the grass, and it was able to plow through that no problem because it has the all-wheel drive. The
reason why I like this is because I have rock beds that separate my grass. And
this is one of the only mowers that can easily navigate over the rock beds because of the all-wheel drive and these omniirectional wheels. The thing that I
omniirectional wheels. The thing that I don't like about this is all the Motions that I've reviewed, even though they can perform really well, occasionally it it just stops working. A lot of these
mowers I actually tested at my friends yards and I drop it off, we set it up and I let them go and then I don't visit them until the end of the summer or until they call me saying, "Hey, I'm
having an issue." I think it's because they need upgrading or updating. And in
those cases, they just stop working or they get a little confused as to where the home station is because of the RTK connection. I'm not quite sure, but I
connection. I'm not quite sure, but I left for Japan for a vacation for 2 weeks. This guy decided to quit mowing
weeks. This guy decided to quit mowing halfway through my vacation for no apparent reason. It was still sitting in
apparent reason. It was still sitting in the station when I got home. My grass
was long and this guy had taken a vacation for a week while I was taking my vacation. Hopefully, they can work
my vacation. Hopefully, they can work those kinks out. I have noticed though that Mamotion updates their app frequently and they're working on their end to make this the best product that
it can be. This is two seasons now that we've been using it. It's still going strong. No other issues.
strong. No other issues.
Functionalitywise, this functions great.
Uses a combination of RTK and vision.
And in my friend's large large yard, obviously, there is no Wi-Fi signal in some of the areas. You don't always need Wi-Fi signal. Wi-Fi signal is only when
Wi-Fi signal. Wi-Fi signal is only when you need to update and when you need to see the progress of the mower.
Otherwise, it can just use the satellites and mow. This does have the option, like all the other RTK mowers that we have, to have 4G cellular
connection. It is a beast. Perfect for
connection. It is a beast. Perfect for
large complex yards. Let's talk about the real beast though when we talk about heavy duty tasks. This is the Maiderator. Specifically, it's the
Maiderator. Specifically, it's the Maider S1. And this is not an autonomous
Maider S1. And this is not an autonomous robotic lawn mower that you can just set it and forget it. This is an RC lawn mower. It's remote controlled. So, let's
mower. It's remote controlled. So, let's
just start with the remote control here.
Having these little joysticks recess like this. Super nice because sometimes
like this. Super nice because sometimes tools and things get put on here and it doesn't get you it doesn't mess up your joystick. I use this mower for my
joystick. I use this mower for my toughest tasks. I have a field out there
toughest tasks. I have a field out there that often gets neglected. The weeds get overgrown. I've I've plowed this thing
overgrown. I've I've plowed this thing through really tall weeds, really steep hills. I've done huge tasks with this
hills. I've done huge tasks with this all-wheel drive mower. It can come in all-wheel drive or two wheel drive. With
all-wheel drive, I've had this really clean up huge, huge messes, places that I normally don't go mow in my yard because they're tough to get to. But
with this and the remote control, it's actually a lot of fun. You can have it bag the grass. So, this is the bag function. I often take off the bag
function. I often take off the bag function, but the cool thing about this is it's just like a regular mower. So,
you can lower it or you can raise it.
This is the only mower that has your traditional mowing blades. So, take a look at that. So, that is a real mowing blade.
It's heavy.
Yeah, it's heavy. This thing is heavy duty. It looks like a a Hummer. That
duty. It looks like a a Hummer. That
huge blade is really able to plow through things that these other robot mowers with their tiny blades, they can't do. Let me show you the battery.
can't do. Let me show you the battery.
The battery is right here. You can pop it out easily.
56V 18 amp hour battery is massive. So
that's the battery there. We've done
huge tasks and not even use up half the battery. So really impressed with the
battery. So really impressed with the battery life on this mower and really impressed with the power and some really cool unique features like easily attach a hose bib to here to rinse off the
blades. Stuff we don't see on other
blades. Stuff we don't see on other robot lawnmowers. While it is a remote
robot lawnmowers. While it is a remote controlled mower, it does have some features where it's almost like autopilot. With a touch of a button, you
autopilot. With a touch of a button, you can just have it turn around, ready to go down the next line. You can reverse just as fast as you can go forward. And
so now what I do is I actually mow and then I just go backwards. And so I never even turn. It's uh the least impact on
even turn. It's uh the least impact on your yard and it still does it does a great job. The wheels on this tend to
great job. The wheels on this tend to shred up your yard if your yard is wet.
And so I try never to do tank turns with this guy. It is a powerful powerful
this guy. It is a powerful powerful machine. People can sit on this or even
machine. People can sit on this or even stand on this and ride it. I don't
recommend it, but it's something my son likes to do. When we have friends that need a project done, we can't take these robot lawnmowers because then you have to set it up, have the station, have the
RTK. it. You just it's not practical to
RTK. it. You just it's not practical to take these robot lawnmowers elsewhere to mow. Whereas this I can stick in the
mow. Whereas this I can stick in the back of my truck or my son can just sit on it and ride it to the next job and then just mow from the comfort of a lawn
chair. And so you do have to supervise
chair. And so you do have to supervise this but it is big, fast, and strong. If
you like to mow but you have allergies and you hate that pollen and grass dust coming in your face, this is a great way to avoid getting allergies while mowing.
So, this is the biggest mower of the group and this is a very versatile machine. It's by Yarbo. It's the Yarbo
machine. It's by Yarbo. It's the Yarbo lawn mower. This is the mower connector.
lawn mower. This is the mower connector.
And then this is the yard care robot.
And this is a modular system where you can take off the mower and you can put on a snowb blower for the winter. You
can put in a leaf blower for the fall.
You can put in a robot face that will follow you. This is the most expensive
follow you. This is the most expensive of all the lawnmowers. Each new
accessory or module that you attach will cost extra. It is separate. It is RTK
cost extra. It is separate. It is RTK base. It has the tank tread. And for
base. It has the tank tread. And for
such a hefty machine, I would have expected them to put regular mowing blades on this machine, which I think they do on their Pro version. And that's
I guess one of the other knocks with Yarbo is they're always coming out with new things. so quickly it kind of makes
new things. so quickly it kind of makes their older accessories and models obsolete. I'd like for them to really
obsolete. I'd like for them to really polish up something before they put out the new iteration of it just so that people that are early adopters don't get
screwed. Who do I recommend this for?
screwed. Who do I recommend this for?
Number one, it's not cheap. So, you're
going to have to have money if you have a large yard and you have the need for snowb blowing and mowing on top of some of these other accessories that you can get. But just make sure that you're
get. But just make sure that you're techsavvy because the setup process is a lot more involved than these other mowers. If you look at just the pieces
mowers. If you look at just the pieces these lawnmowers come with, most of these come with a couple little tools, some extra razor blades. This comes with
like 25 different bags of bolts, nuts, all sorts of things that you need to install on the machine, and you have to remember to keep them, keep them organized. It can definitely be
organized. It can definitely be challenging.
Now, this is our only lidarbased mower.
This is the Eovax Goat A3000. This
little dome is the LAR system. It uses
LAR or lasers to see where it's going in combination with a vision system. It
does not use satellites. So, there's no RTK satellite antenna that you have to set up. The advantages to this, you
set up. The advantages to this, you don't have to worry about setting up an antenna. The LAR works great. So unlike
antenna. The LAR works great. So unlike
the UI which has to mow during the day because it's a vision based system because this uses LAR, you can mow at night with this mower. The big thing
about this that I love and I've had this mowing my front yard the whole summer, the whole season. Dual discs with three blades each. I have not replaced these
blades each. I have not replaced these blades. They've been cutting all summer
blades. They've been cutting all summer and I have it mowing every other day and I have not done any maintenance on this.
But I will say it does look pretty darn good. As we talked about earlier, we
good. As we talked about earlier, we have the caster wheels. We have these motorized wheels here in the back. It
does have a handle. What do I love best about this? It's the cutting quality. It
about this? It's the cutting quality. It
cuts really great lines. Nice, wide,
straight. I also love that it uses the LAR, so there's no setting up an RTK station. There's no having to worry
station. There's no having to worry about big trees blocking my signal or clouds blocking the signal. This guy
will work as long as it can shoot its lasers. And that's the drawback. This
lasers. And that's the drawback. This
guy is going to be a little bit more fragile than some of the other mowers. I
can't just flip this over on its back because I don't want to damage the LAR system. And the other drawback to this
system. And the other drawback to this is it doesn't cut as close to the edge as some of the other mowers. Even though
they advertised something here called true edge, I haven't found that it's cutting that close to the edge. When we
first started, it was leaving maybe over a foot, almost 2 feet of grass uncut on the edges. I worked with customer
the edges. I worked with customer service and their tech people to try to figure out what was going on. In the
end, it took an update to fix that. Next
in the heavyweight category is the newest mower of all these mowers. This
was, I think, a Kickstarter campaign. We
got to be one of the early testers of it and I was really impressed with this.
This is the Limo and the Limo differentiates itself from these other mowers in two ways. It has the tank tread. The other big difference is
tread. The other big difference is the blades on the bottom. These blades
here, they're like mini lawn mower blades. These are their mulching blades.
blades. These are their mulching blades.
Yeah, these are their new upgraded blades that they sent out to us. They
found that the mowing was mulching, but they didn't have as clean of a cut. So,
they sent us these updated blades, which will be sent to all the backers of their Kickstarter project. This is like a
Kickstarter project. This is like a little mini tank, and it's heavy like a tank. Very heavy duty. With a tank
tank. Very heavy duty. With a tank tread, you can go up really complex terrain. You can go up really steep
terrain. You can go up really steep angles with these blades. They take care of tasks, grass that's thicker and taller that some of these other mowers
will struggle on. It had its struggles when it first came out when we were testing, as do all of these mowers. But
once they worked out the kinks, I set this up maybe a month ago for a neighbor. Once we got through the setup
neighbor. Once we got through the setup process, I said, "Adios." And I didn't hear from them again. And apparently,
this mower has performed great. It's
just doing its thing, mowing. It's
gotten stuck once and that is it.
because it's heavy. If you have it consistently mowing the same pattern where these tank treads run, it pushes down on the grass and it flattens the
grass. The reason why it pushes down
grass. The reason why it pushes down those same tracks and and kind of pushes down on the grass on your lawn, it always ms in the same direction every
time unless you manually go into the app to adjust it. Whereas a lot of these other mowers will automatically know to over time, let's say one week it'll mow
one direction, the next week it'll mow in the opposite direction just to make it easier on your lawn. And I'd love for them to update that in this. And I feel like Limo has been so responsive to the
criticisms that we've said in the past in our past review that they'll listen to this and they'll add that feature into the app and onto this device. The
things to love about it, it can do really complex terrain. It does a great job mowing and it's one of those set it and forget it mowers that's really durable. It doesn't get stuck. It just
durable. It doesn't get stuck. It just
goes and it does the job. Things that I don't like in the back, you can easily take off this back door. The battery is the most expensive component on this
device and to have it that easy to get into. I'm I'm a fan that I can get
into. I'm I'm a fan that I can get there. I could swap out the battery if I
there. I could swap out the battery if I need to, but it's just a little too easy to get access to. And the other thing, it's just heavy. So, the one time it did get stuck, it took two people to lift
this and to try to to maneuver it so it could get going again. Next in the big boy category is the Sun Seeker. This one
was very surprising. This mower I had not heard anything about. I had not seen any videos about it. And so, when they sent it to me, it was kind of a blank slate. You have two discs that are
slate. You have two discs that are offset with three blades on each. This
mower is advertised as an all-wheel drive mower, and I was like, "No, this isn't an all-wheel drive. It has a caster wheel." But this isn't your
caster wheel." But this isn't your normal caster wheel. It's actually a motorized caster wheel. So, this is in this three-w wheeled device, a allterrain three- wheeled vehicle, cuz
these are motorized, which actually makes it really nimble. It's very
nimble. It was able to navigate playsets, the trees, the gym toys, the trampoline. If you have a trampoline in
trampoline. If you have a trampoline in your backyard, sometimes these mowers can struggle going over the metal bars.
This one did not struggle. It looks just as good as it performs. It looks like a nice fast race car. Has that futuristic, sleek look. The app works really well.
sleek look. The app works really well.
Very intuitive. And this is another one of those devices that I helped my friend set up at his home and throughout the summer I did not hear a peep from him. I
actually went to his house the other day for a party and I was like, "Wow, his lawn looks really good." And he told me that the Sun Seeker has been doing a fantastic job. No complaints. He's been
fantastic job. No complaints. He's been
super happy with it. And so the Sunseeker has exceeded my expectations.
And for a big boy yard, this is a big boy device. all-wheel drive with the
boy device. all-wheel drive with the three wheels. It's very nimble. It's
three wheels. It's very nimble. It's
easy on your grass. It's not too heavy that it's going to push your grass down.
The cut looks nice and it's easy to use.
So, it's one of those set it and forget it devices that just hasn't given us any problems throughout the summer. If I
were to say any drawbacks with it, at the beginning when we were testing it, it was also leaving a wide space, almost six to eight inches of uncut grass on
the edges. And again, through an update,
the edges. And again, through an update, now it's mowing right up against the edge. It also has a handle. I love that
edge. It also has a handle. I love that you can pick it up. It's not super heavy. Apparently, it learns as you go.
heavy. Apparently, it learns as you go.
And so throughout the summer, it was learning the yard. And each time it mowed, it did a better job. And I am seeing that trend with a lot of these robot mowers. The more that you use it,
robot mowers. The more that you use it, the better it performs. Either one, because it's learning as it's going. And
number two, because it's getting updates over time, and number three, because as a user, sometimes you have to finesse or alter borders or change settings so that
you can get the peak performance. And so
that is the Sunseeker Elite X7 Plus, the most surprising mower in the bunch.
Really pleased with the results. Now,
let's talk about another mower that really surprised us. This is the Segue X350. This is their big lawn mower
X350. This is their big lawn mower that's supposed to do big yards. But the
surprising thing is, and the disappointing thing is for such a big mower, it's just one cutting disc. And then in that one
cutting disc. And then in that one cutting disc, while you do have many blades, what? One, two, three, four,
blades, what? One, two, three, four, five, six. Six blades. So, the most
five, six. Six blades. So, the most blades on any single disc, the blades are almost hidden.
I mean, they peek out a little bit when it's spinning with the centrifugal force. I'm wondering why they need that
force. I'm wondering why they need that sandwich disc. Again, you're getting
sandwich disc. Again, you're getting really thin, narrow lines. You're not
getting the nice wide lines you get with the dual discs. There's a lot of open space here. And so very surprising that
space here. And so very surprising that such a big mower would just have that one disc. For a big boy mower to have
one disc. For a big boy mower to have caster wheels, it's really going to struggle if you have uneven terrain, if you have ruts or divots. Some of our
all-wheel drive mowers, they were having no problems, whereas this was getting stuck. Probably the most disappointing
stuck. Probably the most disappointing is for how big of a yard it says it can mow. The battery is really small. We'll
mow. The battery is really small. We'll
list the specs here, but with that small battery, we found that it was constantly having to go back to recharge.
Advertised as a heavyweight, this was not up to the task. If you've had a good experience with the X350, I want to hear about it. I want to see it because we
about it. I want to see it because we just have not figured this one out. But
I think a lot of the limitations are just built in. It's not something that you can fix with software because you can't fix the fact that it has just one
disc on the bottom. You can't fix the fact that it is a small battery and you can't fix the fact that it's not all-wheel drive. All right. And all of
all-wheel drive. All right. And all of this is unscripted. We're just kind of winging it as we go along and we're going to wing the award ceremony. Now,
Andrew and I will have differing opinions because we've had differing experiences. First off, let's talk about
experiences. First off, let's talk about what's the best value mower for a small yard. For me, I would say it has to be
yard. For me, I would say it has to be this Manotion Yuka Mini. extremely
affordable, very similar to the Navimo i 110. Has pretty much the same design,
110. Has pretty much the same design, but it just looks so much sexier. You
have a small to medium-sized yard that is really simple and you just don't want to spend a whole lot of time in the setup process and the maintenance, my
award would go to the Yui E18. I love
the autonomous vision tech where it can learn how to map on its own and there's no RTK station needed. Andrew, what is the best mower if you have a complex
small to mediumsized yard? Definitely
has to be the Manotion Luba Mini simply because it's the only one in its class that's all-wheel drive that gives you the ability to tackle steep terrains and challenging terrain. Let's move on to
challenging terrain. Let's move on to the big boy mowers. If you have really tall grass, you have really steep hills, rocky terrain, uneven terrain, the
Maidraider is going to be your champion right here. And if you need a mower that
right here. And if you need a mower that you can take to other jobs, so it's very versatile, then this is it. The only
issue is it's not fully autonomous. So,
it's not a set it or forget it device.
Now, if you want something that it's set it and forget it, I would say the mower that took the least amount of care once set up, once fully updated in terms of
never getting stuck and not having issues once all the kinks were worked out, would probably go to these two here. It would be a tie. The Sunseeker
here. It would be a tie. The Sunseeker
really surprised me, as did the Limo. I
set those both those up at two different friends homes and had no issues throughout the summer. for ease of use and all around good cut quality. I think
Jimmy's front yard looks amazing. That's
why I'd give the award to the EcoVac mower. This thing has done a great job.
mower. This thing has done a great job.
The LAR is super sweet. The technology
is incredible. I've yet to see any other mower that has the technology that can touch this. Especially because this can
touch this. Especially because this can see even when it can't see. That was a lot of awards, but really the real question is gun to your head, Jimmy. You
get to only choose one mower. What is it going to be? The robot lawn mower. I
would choose would be 10 minutes later.
Here's the thing. Every yard is different. And so choosing a robot lawn
different. And so choosing a robot lawn mower is like choosing a tool. You're
not going to choose a sledgehammer to put a nail in the wall to hang a picture. And you're not going to choose
picture. And you're not going to choose a little FisherPrice hammer to try to put a stake in a hard ground. So you
need to make sure you pick the right tool for the job. My job is a relatively simple yard, but a big yard, but it's separated in terms of access. So, it
needs to be something that's all-wheel drive. It needs to be something that can
drive. It needs to be something that can communicate from the front yard to the backyard and not get confused if I move it. And so, it has to be something
it. And so, it has to be something that's easy to move. So, that eliminates this guy here. I love the way this guy looks. I love the way this guy cooks. I
looks. I love the way this guy cooks. I
love the Sun Seeker. It has actually it checks all the boxes. One of the drawbacks though that we didn't talk about is you can only get this through a dealer right at the moment. You can't
buy it online. So I think that's a knock on this. This EVAX does a great job, but
on this. This EVAX does a great job, but it's not all-wheel drive and so it has a hard time going from front to back. And
so in my head I would have to say it's got to be this guy because he's all-wheel drive. He can go from backyard
all-wheel drive. He can go from backyard to front yard. The Luba 2, while it's a little bit older, it has nice wide lines. It has all-wheel drive
lines. It has all-wheel drive suspension. I would go with this one.
suspension. I would go with this one.
But I do have to say, if they sold this online and not through a dealer, I just don't want to have to mess with a dealer, then I would probably get this guy, the Sunseeker Elite X7 Plus. Thanks
for watching and remember, when you need to mow your lawn, have your robot do
