Summary

## Key takeaways - **Vitamin C Shots Prevent Colds**: I always have to start my day with vitamin C from green bottles at combini, otherwise I'm sneezing up a storm and might catch a cold. It's so effective every morning when I'm here. [01:04], [01:22] - **FoA Coffee's Unique Flavors**: Colombia La Flores is creamy cultured with pink grapefruit cherry peppermint flavors, while Colombia Liso is watermelony honeydew. At 2500 yen it's expensive for pour-over but worth it for high quality. [03:15], [03:35] - **Onigiri Bongo Worth Long Wait**: We waited quite a bit for Oniri at Onir bongo but the filling is so fresh, warm, and good. We devoured two quickly after the line. [05:25], [06:45] - **MMC Tokyo's Intricate Details**: MMC Tokyo has intricacy in everything and is super clean with attention to detail like coffee cocktails with raspberry jasmine. I wish LA shops did more coffee cocktails. [13:31], [13:41] - **Unplanned Garden Surprise**: We stumbled across the most beautiful garden in Tokyo completely unplanned. It's so peaceful here and a really nice surprise. [15:25], [15:35]

I get to see your vlog.

>> Why does everyone say that?

>> We're here in Tokyo. I'm only here for about 48 hours and then I'm heading down south to Masyama. So, have a quick two days just to do a couple of things. But,

I found Luke. So, he's here to join me for breakfast and then we're probably going to sadly go our separate ways. And

then I'm going to go to a coffee shop with my friends Sean and Justin. You've

been here how long? How many days?

>> I've been here since What day is it today?

>> Saturday. It's

>> Tuesday.

>> Luke is going to go down to Fuji, right?

>> Yeah. Fuji.

>> Mount Fuji. And then he's going to go over to Nagano. Is that what it's called?

>> Yeah.

>> Okay. But we'll we'll get some good breakfast and then we'll head out.

>> Yeah.

To be honest, my friend is into that crush.

>> It's a little crunchy though.

>> It's worth the weight.

>> Dude, I feel like I always have to start my day with vitamin C. Otherwise, I'm

sneezing up a storm. There's a drink in like the combines where it's like a green bottle. Do you know what I'm

green bottle. Do you know what I'm talking about?

>> Like the Japanese Korean store.

>> Yeah. There's like these green bottles that are like pure like >> Yeah. like vitamin C shots.

>> Yeah. like vitamin C shots.

>> Yeah.

>> I got to take it every single time every morning when I'm here so that I don't like catch a cold or I don't get sick.

>> But it's so effective though.

>> Yeah, it's so good.

>> I've seen the uh Tik Tok videos.

>> I'm going to Pho A. I don't know how to actually pronounce it. I got to ask the store owner how to pronounce that shop, but it's spelled like Fo Coffee A with like with like a coffee and then a letter A at the end.

>> How are you getting here? I'm just going to take a taxi cuz the train is going to take me too long.

>> If you ever come to LA again though, wouldn't know.

>> Oh, I feel like I go there like it's a pretty easy spot for me to go.

>> Yeah, you're going to walk to Shibuya. I

should really be doing that, but I might run.

>> I'm going to run late. Yeah,

>> I should do this.

Good to see you, dude. Nice to see you.

>> Do you want to leave it somewhere? Like,

do you want to leave it at my hotel? Are

you Were you just going to go straight to the airport?

>> No, I'm meeting my coworker in Shibuya at like 12:30.

>> Oh, >> so I think it's fine. No stress.

>> All right. Well, let's get let's get coffee.

>> I feel so bad. You had to carry like all your stuff.

>> No, it's the whole time. We got to walk down a ton of stairs. You sure you don't have to carry anything?

>> I'm good.

>> I got something.

drink.

It's very very pepperminty. Like I think that's

very pepperminty. Like I think that's what she said. Yeah, it's very pepperminty.

This straight up tastes like water. I

want to know where that leads to. Where

does where does this lead to? Like where

what's over there? I mean to be fair, we are in a basement.

>> Yeah, right. I mean the window leads to the outside.

Do you think they let you crawl through it?

>> No. Wait, should we ask? No. No. No. No.

So, the coffee I ordered was a Colombia La Flores. I've never heard of creamy

La Flores. I've never heard of creamy cultured as a process for like coffee processes. Actually, yours was the

processes. Actually, yours was the Columbia Liso. So, his was more

Columbia Liso. So, his was more watermelonyy, like honeydew. Mine was

more like peppermint. I think it says like pink grapefruit cherry. It was

definitely like kind of cherry-p, but I think the peppermint flavors were actually pretty evident. $2,500 yen,

which is like what? Yeah. $16. $2,500

yen is actually pretty expensive for a porover coffee. Huh.

porover coffee. Huh.

>> No, it's it's it's a really unique taste and I if a coffee is like high quality and it's good, like I'll spend the money to try like a nice high quality coffee, but I think that price point might turn

off a good amount of people. And to be fair, the one-on-one like explaining how the wash worked and that was really cool.

>> Yeah, like the barrist that actually took her time >> to explain everything, explain the processes, water temperature, how she brewed it, everything like that. Guys,

Sean found this really cool park and obviously this really cool bird. But I

think I'm going to go check that out later. You should

later. You should >> Can you stand next to it for scale?

>> For scale? Oh my god.

>> All right. Safe travels. Good seeing

you.

>> We'll hang out back again though. Yeah.

>> Can't wait to see you.

>> Take care, man.

>> Thanks, man.

>> Are you feeling okay? Are you all right?

Not really.

>> Good.

>> Okay. Okay.

>> My voice is dead.

>> I know. You sound like you had a lot of fun.

>> It was good. It was a good night, though.

>> Yeah. Let me know if there's something you haven't tried that you also do want to try.

>> Yeah, I do want to try the one place like 100%. So, close by.

like 100%. So, close by.

>> It's like we take one one stop.

>> That's fine. Yeah. Yeah.

>> Back to Iukuro station.

>> The overulating station.

>> Justin and I are on the hunt for some oniiri. Quite a bit of a wait, but I

oniiri. Quite a bit of a wait, but I think it'll be worth it. And I'm very excited to try. I actually don't know what the name of the shop is, but I'll find it later.

>> Oniri [ __ ] >> Okay. Onir bongo is the name of Thanks.

>> Okay. Onir bongo is the name of Thanks.

Coming in clutch.

>> All right. Your oniri is on me. Okay.

>> So that I can secure you to still hang out with me tomorrow.

>> Okay. Down.

>> Deal. Easiest deal. I actually don't have too many plans tomorrow, but I'm going to I think I have a couple spots that I'm down to hit.

>> So I'm down to get up early and do like some nicer like coffee in the morning and stuff like that.

>> There's a nice the MMC Tokyo that I wanted to go to. We should go to that.

Okay.

>> There's so many options though. Oh my

god. But they have a kurag one and kurag is like my favorite thing.

>> I'm definitely Yeah, they have a curry one too. Sounds good.

one too. Sounds good.

>> Raw called row grilled salmon. I might

do grilled salmon too.

>> Spicy tuna.

>> Is that what they they recommended?

>> Spicy tuna. Yeah.

>> Which is always really good.

>> Mhm. You should try the the salmon the salted salmon row. I'm not I'm not the biggest fan of salmon row for some reason.

>> Yeah.

Oh yeah. So good.

>> Worth the wait.

>> Is it good?

>> So good.

So warm.

Mhm. The filling is so fresh. Oh my god.

We just devoured two onigiris in the span of I don't know how long, but we waited in line for so long that now it's just like dark, but it's only like 4:00.

I'm going to go with Justin to pick up some onas for him and then I'm going to meet Tori and Matt for dinner afterwards.

>> I don't like this really like >> Yeah. Sir, are you struggling tying your

>> Yeah. Sir, are you struggling tying your shoes or uh uh >> first time? You know,

>> there's no way they don't have half sizes.

>> Yeah, it's weird, >> right? I feel like then you just lose an

>> right? I feel like then you just lose an entire market.

>> It might hurt if the shoe is too small.

>> True.

>> Like when you walk it might actually like Yeah, it might actually hurt.

>> There they are. Wow, look at that.

>> No, no, no. That's okay. You guys

shopped a lot. Good to see you. Been a

minute. Ready, guys? I found two more friends. I'm like collecting infinity

friends. I'm like collecting infinity stones today. The one where the Oh, the

stones today. The one where the Oh, the vlog where everyone commented like, "Is that is that crows? Is that croissol?

Why is croissol in a random coffee?

You guys try this. So tender.

>> I'm like half cut off. That's okay.

>> But you're in there. Wait, Matt, you're like on top of my head.

>> This place was pretty good, though. I'm

not going to lie. It was also so small.

There was like what? Four tables.

>> Yeah.

>> Yeah. I liked it.

>> It was very good.

>> It was very, very good. Very

good.

>> Aiku 433.

>> Yeah. Worth cuz Matt paid.

Worth cuz Matt paid. Shout out

Cryostells.

That's >> what I wanted.

>> That's so funny. All right, it's time to go home. Pretty nice first day. Took it

go home. Pretty nice first day. Took it

a bit slower than usual. We didn't

actually do too much, I realized. But

tomorrow is supposed to rain, unfortunately. So, going to do probably

unfortunately. So, going to do probably one to two coffee shops in the morning.

I'm like doing my best to go to shops that I've never been before. After being

here like five times, it's actually pretty hard. But I think we're doing one

pretty hard. But I think we're doing one matcha specific cafe in the morning and then a more coffee forward one. I will

be indulging in the soda popsicle and then a bottle of the vitamin C. And then

I will be heading to bed early. I think

it's only like what 9. I'm so tired, guys. Oh my god. 9:30 and I'm already

guys. Oh my god. 9:30 and I'm already like exhausted. Tomorrow's going to be a

like exhausted. Tomorrow's going to be a good day despite the rain. It's kind of hard to cram everything in 48 hours, but the easy thing is that I've been here before, so I don't have to most of the

touristy stuff. I will see you guys in

touristy stuff. I will see you guys in the morning.

You made it. It's Brandon. Nice to meet you.

>> All right. Ready?

>> Yeah.

>> And Kayu is our bestseller. This one

have a very strong taste of matcha. It's

a single cultivar akumidori.

>> Okay. Yeah.

>> This one has a match.

>> Sure. What kind of milk?

>> Uh just regular milk.

>> Just regular milk. All right.

>> You know, I'm not lactose intolerant when I'm in Japan. Have you tried dairy?

>> You know what? I think I'm like sweetness level >> zero.

>> Zero.

>> Yeah.

>> Please start a while before.

>> If the weather is good, sometimes there's like an art market over there.

Tastes like two stars. Michelin guided.

Oh, I'm so excited. I love Basque cheesecake.

>> I wish this was a little more like >> burnt.

>> Yeah, burnt.

>> Yeah.

>> Wait, that's really good.

>> Yeah.

>> I want to pick it up and eat it like a pizza.

Guys, free gift. Masha passport. Free

gift. He He apparently uh messaged me last March and I had no idea.

>> He's had that for years.

>> Actually, it's so cool. It's actually a passport. Look. Oh, pretty much it.

passport. Look. Oh, pretty much it.

Good morning. Morning.

>> This in China is cold and sha coffee.

Yeah. This chicken coffee is in no alcohol cocktail. Yeah. Thank you so

alcohol cocktail. Yeah. Thank you so much.

>> Thank you.

>> Yeah.

Just checking out black cheese sauce.

>> Yours is like espresso.

>> I think so. Do you like straight espresso?

Sometimes. Very rare.

Straight cold brew is like so clean cut.

>> Yeah. Wow. That's really good.

>> I feel like I just drank straight candy.

What the heck? They said I think this has like raspberry and jasmine.

>> Yeah, like jasmine tea infused.

>> I don't really get to eat ramen a lot when I come here.

>> I'm definitely just try it, man. See?

>> Yeah, let's go.

>> It's like very different. It's not like overly pungent. I really like this. I

overly pungent. I really like this. I

really wish that more shops in LA would do like coffee cocktails, but I think with how like everyone's taste buds are in LA and then also just like I think

the cost to make them is like not worth it.

I know it's not easy to tell through the vlogs, but I think at MMC Tokyo, the one thing that I really appreciated was just like the amount of intricacy intric

intric intricacy.

Oh my god, English is hard. Also, the

how clean the shop actually was. So, I

think that's something that I appreciate. I think it could also just

appreciate. I think it could also just be because we went super early and it wasn't much of a crowded place, but I actually really appreciate just like the attention to detail to everything. But

the rain's calming down a little bit and we're getting some ramen. I am going to say a prayer that I'm going to say a prayer for there not be to be a dude I cannot English today. What happened?

What happened to my >> Oh my god. Okay, apparently it's closed, but we'll find a different spot. I'm

trying to still eat nearby.

I got so car sick in that >> really >> taxi. Do you not feel the stop go stop

>> taxi. Do you not feel the stop go stop go stop? I'm

go stop? I'm >> used to it. Like Korea's way worse.

>> Really?

>> Yeah. Dude, the taxi drivers there like >> that was so bad. I had a bad experience in Singapore, but that was the first one I had here.

>> This one?

>> Yeah.

>> Bye.

I wish it was a little warmer. I'm not

going to lie.

We just stumbled across probably the most beautiful garden here in Tokyo.

This is completely unplanned and honestly a really nice surprise. It's so

peaceful here.

Thank you for a lot. I got you anytime. I'll see you.

a lot. I got you anytime. I'll see you.

>> Sounds good.

>> See you on the flip side, my friend.

>> Bye.

>> Peace.

Oh, >> you're actually leaving me. Oh. Oh,

you're >> Oh, I thought that was just for the bit.

>> Oh, you're recording? I didn't know.

>> I thought that was just for the bit.

>> Oh, no.

>> I'm going to the same station.

>> Oh, I was not. I thought you said you were shopping around here before.

>> I thought my fault.

>> Wait, no. No, that was good. I thought

you were doing it for the bit.

>> Oh, no. I literally thought you were like going to shop here.

>> No, that's so funny.

I blush a little. I think about it all the time. I think it might be getting

the time. I think it might be getting high or am I thinking we got something good? We got

something good. Maybe too good. Call the

ambulance.
