Hey everyone, I've been showing a lot of videos on how to create designs with AI using Google Gemini Nano Banana, but a lot of you have been asking what to do next. How do I take the AI designs and
next. How do I take the AI designs and get it ready for print on demand? So, in
this video, I'm going to show you how to do that. I'm first going to go to Nano
do that. I'm first going to go to Nano Banana and show you a couple of things that I've been working on. I'm going to download it and then bring it into Canva and show you what the difference is when
you upscale a design and vectorize a design. If you didn't know, Canva has
design. If you didn't know, Canva has apps to do both of these things. So, I'm
going to show you what the results are for that and how to get it ready for print on demand. So, let's get into Google Gemini Nano Banana first and let me show you the designs that I'm going to do. All right. So, here I am on
to do. All right. So, here I am on Google Gemini. I'm going to pull up a
Google Gemini. I'm going to pull up a couple of things that I have pinned here. First thing is I have this one
here. First thing is I have this one that I'm working on. Um, so this one I just have a raccoon on a chicken and some words like that. I'm going to download this one. So, all you do is
once you get your illustration or whatever you're working on, you can just hit download right here. Um, and I'll do that. This isn't a video on how to
that. This isn't a video on how to create these designs. I have more videos on how to create designs like these in uh Gemini. I'm just going to show you
uh Gemini. I'm just going to show you the ones that I've been working on. And
then this one I've been working on. It's
more cartoony kawaii. I started with a um drawing here. Here you can see it really helped me kind of create something. So I'm going to download this
something. So I'm going to download this one as well. It's a parody of Jaws which I really like. I'm going to download these. So let me pull these up and show
these. So let me pull these up and show you the exact size and why you would need to upscale and vectorize and or vectorize these two. All right, first of
all, these are the ones right here. You
can see Gemini generated PNG. Generated
PNG. These are the two. Let me show you the exact size. I'm going to hit info on it. Clicking on this, command I. I'll
it. Clicking on this, command I. I'll
bring it over here. And then click on this one as well. And command I. And
then I'll bring it over here. So you'll
notice down here it's 1024x 1024. This
one's even smaller. Well, I guess it's about the same size, but it's 896 by 1152. So, it's a tall rectangle instead
1152. So, it's a tall rectangle instead of a square, where the other one's a square, but they're both too small for 4500x 5400, which is what we're going to
need if we're going to put these on print on demand, especially on t-shirts.
So, I'm going to bring both of these into Canva and I'll show you how to actually upscale it or vectorize it, at least make it the right size. I'm going
to download those again and then show you how clear they are and how big they are. So, here I am on Canva. You can see
are. So, here I am on Canva. You can see I've done it already. I tested it out.
But for you, I'm going to do it step by step so that you can see how this works.
So, I'm going to start a new. I'm going
to hit create right here on the top left. I'm going to hit custom size. I'm
left. I'm going to hit custom size. I'm
going to do 4500x 5400. Now, if you don't have it, of course, type in 4500x 5400. Make sure that it's pixels. Hit
5400. Make sure that it's pixels. Hit
create new design. Next step is to drag in the original. So, the one that I downloaded from um Gemini, I'm going to pull in the first one here.
Now, the first thing that you can do here is the background remover. So, I'm
going to do that cuz you probably don't want that background. In fact, I know you don't want the background on your t-shirt. So, now that when you have the
t-shirt. So, now that when you have the t-shirt that it's like a different color, you can see that it shows through, right? Not everything shows
through, right? Not everything shows through, but it it removed the main background right here. So, I'm going to keep this on. Uh, in fact, actually, I'm going to keep another color on so that
you can see um that what we're doing here. So, first I'm going to make this
here. So, first I'm going to make this bigger. And that's what most people
bigger. And that's what most people would do is make this bigger. In fact,
I'm going to crop it so that I can make it easier for me to make it bigger. So,
I'm going to go in like this and like this. All right. And I'm going to make
this. All right. And I'm going to make it the right size that I would on a t-shirt. So, I probably want it this
t-shirt. So, I probably want it this size right here. Now, remember, this is the original one where I didn't upscale it or vectorize it. So, this is going to
be um the first one. I'm going to hit another button here, duplicate page. I'm
going to go back and name this one the original. So, original. Like that. Just
original. So, original. Like that. Just
so we know that this I didn't do anything but remove the background and scale it up. Not upscale it, but I made it bigger. Right. So, the next thing
it bigger. Right. So, the next thing we're going to do is let's see the design if it when we upscale it. Okay.
So, what we can do is we can go to the app store right here. Click on it and then hit uh upscale.
Boom. And there's a bunch of them, but the one I want to use is this image upscaler. You can see it's not premium.
upscaler. You can see it's not premium.
I think everybody can use this. Oh, no,
it is premium. Sorry. This one is premium. So, um, some of them are not
premium. So, um, some of them are not premium. Um, but if you have pro, the
premium. Um, but if you have pro, the pro canva pro, you can use this. If not,
you might have to try and use something else. So, sorry about that. But this one
else. So, sorry about that. But this one is for pro users only. I'm going to click on it right here. And you can do the image or the page. I'm going to do
the image. And I'm going to go full on
the image. And I'm going to go full on 8x. So, you can do up to however many
8x. So, you can do up to however many you want. It says your image is already
you want. It says your image is already high resolution. Don't believe that.
high resolution. Don't believe that.
It's not. I'll show you the difference.
But I'm going to hit upscale right here.
And it's going to take this design here and upscale it. What that means is it's going to add more pixels to it so that it's not pixelated. So that when it's at this bigger size, it's nice and clear
and sharp. And we'll see the difference.
and sharp. And we'll see the difference.
So, I'll show you the difference between the original and this upscaled version of it. So, um it's going to take a
of it. So, um it's going to take a little while, but it's not not too long.
You can see it's probably 80% here. And
I'll show you what it looks like when it's done. All right, so it's done. It
it's done. All right, so it's done. It
gives me this whole before and after.
You can't really tell at this size before and after. At least my eyes aren't good enough to tell the difference, but I'm just going to hit replace here. And it's going to replace
replace here. And it's going to replace this one right here. And we're going to title this upscaled. All right. So now
this one is the upscaled version of this one. Now you can't really tell right
one. Now you can't really tell right away. I could zoom in, but I'm going to
away. I could zoom in, but I'm going to zoom in later. I'm just going to title this one upscaled, just so we know. All right. So, yeah,
upscaled. The next one I'm going to do is I'm going to duplicate this page again. And well, actually, I should I
again. And well, actually, I should I should duplicate the other one. Let me
not do this one. So, I'm going to take this. Um, since we're starting, I don't
this. Um, since we're starting, I don't want to vectorize the upscaled version.
I'm going to vectorize this one. You
could do both. You could do both, but I'm going to copy this. This is the original. I'll put it in this one right
original. I'll put it in this one right here.
And then we're going to vectorize this one so I can show you the difference.
So, I'm going to get out of here. I'm
going to go back and go back to uh apps and I'm going to type in vectorz.
Oh, vector. Yeah, vectorzer. It's called
vectorizer. You can see this one is free. Yeah, it doesn't have the crown
free. Yeah, it doesn't have the crown like some of the other ones do. So, um
this one is free. You can vectorize it.
And I'll show you what the difference is. So, we got this again. We're going
is. So, we got this again. We're going
to vectorize. There's actually two versions of vectorzing. I'm going to do both. So, the first one is keep the
both. So, the first one is keep the colors. It's going to keep everything,
colors. It's going to keep everything, but just turn it into vectors. And I'm
going to start the tracer here. You can
do some advanced settings if you want, but really I just want the smooth one right here. You can up this. I've tested
right here. You can up this. I've tested
some things and just leaving it at 10, I think, is still fine. But you could, you know, go go all the way up if you wanted to. In fact, I'll just do a little bit
to. In fact, I'll just do a little bit more. I'll do 20 and hit start tracer.
more. I'll do 20 and hit start tracer.
Now, this one also takes a long time, but uh we're going to see what the results are. Basically, it's redrawing
results are. Basically, it's redrawing everything and making it a vector so that it's a smooth line. It's not going to be pixels anymore. It's going to be vectors. What you're going to see is
vectors. What you're going to see is you're going to notice some details that aren't going to show because the vectorzer uh isn't going to be able to get every single line, especially
something like this with this like super detailed illustration. One of the
detailed illustration. One of the reasons to go upscale on a detailed illustration is that you'll keep all the different lines. But when you vectorize
different lines. But when you vectorize something that has this much detail, you're going to lose some quality, which may be okay depending on what you want.
So, I'm going to add this to the design.
It's done now here. And I'm going to get rid of the bigger one. And now, and we can scale this because it's a vector, so it doesn't matter too much. Oh, I
forgot. We're going to um also crop this one. So, we'll crop this so that it's
one. So, we'll crop this so that it's just easier to move things around. Um
dang it. Let's move my face here. Um
crop it like that. Okay. And let's just make it as big as the other one. Kind
of. I'm not going to be exact, but it's about this big, right? And you'll notice um that some of the details aren't there
anymore. So this like fine lines here um
anymore. So this like fine lines here um it's actually really pretty good to be honest though. Um but it is a vector. So
honest though. Um but it is a vector. So
let's do one more. And I'm going to do this again. I'm going to add this. And
this again. I'm going to add this. And
I'll do this original copy. And and this time I'm going to pick binary right here. And so we'll see the difference.
here. And so we'll see the difference.
So I'm going to start tracer. This time
the binary is just going to do it black and white so that we can color it. Wow,
that was fast. Okay, let's put that in there. I'll do this. And you'll notice
there. I'll do this. And you'll notice that it only did the two colors. Wait, I
should have cropped it again, of course.
Let's go back here and just so we can have it right on there and right on there. Okay. All right. So, this is a
there. Okay. All right. So, this is a vector, one color, black, and I can change it. That's one of the nice things
change it. That's one of the nice things about vectorizing is that you can change the colors. So, I'm going to change it
the colors. So, I'm going to change it to one of these colors here that we have. Maybe that one. Was it that one?
have. Maybe that one. Was it that one?
No, I think it was this darker one here.
All right.
So, there you go. This one, which I really like, and the details pretty good. I can't believe this is a vector
good. I can't believe this is a vector inside of Canva. Um, but yeah, I I like this style because on this one, when you change the background colors, the colors
show through. So, that's pretty cool. I
show through. So, that's pretty cool. I
I I really like that. Um, all right. So,
I'll show you the difference. Make sure
Let's make sure they're all the same color. In fact, let's do it at this
color. In fact, let's do it at this color. Instead of this yellow, let's do
color. Instead of this yellow, let's do it this color. Well, but then you can't see the Okay, let's let's change it back. So, I'm going to do this peach.
back. So, I'm going to do this peach.
Yeah, let's do peach. Everybody, back to peach. So, we can see when I download
peach. So, we can see when I download this.
Whoops. I didn't mean to change that color, the background. Now, this one, you can kind of change the color. This
was the upscaled one, and you can kind of change the color on it on here, um, if you want to, but you can see it's not knocked out like the other one is. So,
I'm going to go back and just change the background to peach.
And this is the original. So first we have the original. We have the upscaled.
We have the vector um color or the vector. What did we call it? We
have the vector where you keep the colors. So I'm going to call it vector
colors. So I'm going to call it vector keep colors.
And then this one is vector uh binary.
All right. So, last thing I'm going to do is I'm going to download all of these. I'm going to hit share. And this
these. I'm going to hit share. And this
is what you would do. You would hit download. These are
download. These are three of these are ready for print on demand. The first one is not. And I'll
demand. The first one is not. And I'll
show you why. But I'll remove the background actually um just so you can see cuz that's what you would do. So,
there was no need for me to put the peach background I guess. And then, uh hit download. Okay. And then we're going
hit download. Okay. And then we're going to see all of these as a PNG. And then
these are going to be the right size.
I'll pull it up and then you'll see like the quality of it. I'm going to zoom in on it. Can see it's going there. U
on it. Can see it's going there. U
almost done. And once it's done, I'll bring them all up. All right. So, there
it is. I forgot to title it, but there's the design, the zip file. I double
clicked on the zip file. I have this folder. You can see the four original
folder. You can see the four original upscaled binary and so on. So, I'm going to do the original first. I'll hit uh I on it just like we did the other one.
You can see now it is 4500 by 5400. In
fact, all of them are because that's the size we made it, but the quality is going to be different. So, I'm going to open all of these up and then zoom in so you can see the difference. All right.
So, first this is the original with nothing. I didn't do any uh upscaling or
nothing. I didn't do any uh upscaling or vectorizing and anything. And at first glance, it looks pretty good, except you can see it didn't delete the background
as good as we wanted to. Uh, so that's a thing. And so I'm going to also um go in
thing. And so I'm going to also um go in here and you can see how pixelated it is. When I zoom in, even the letters
is. When I zoom in, even the letters when I zoom in, you can see it's kind of jagged. That's the pixels cuz all I did
jagged. That's the pixels cuz all I did was make the pixels bigger. I didn't
actually smooth it out. So this is original. Let's do the same for the
original. Let's do the same for the other one. I'll do the upscaled. So for
other one. I'll do the upscaled. So for
the upscaled, again, it didn't remove the background the way that I wanted.
But if I zoom in, some of it looks a little sharper. But if you come in here, it's
sharper. But if you come in here, it's not as sharp as I want it to be. um
maybe slightly, but because I deleted the background first, I think some of that jagged edges are translating onto the the edges here. So, I wouldn't do
this for this one. I'll show you some how it works on some of the the other one, the um crow one, but uh upscaling sometimes it works, sometimes it
doesn't. In this case, like the inside
doesn't. In this case, like the inside may be better. Um let's pull both of them up side by side. So yeah, check that out. So this one is the upscaled
that out. So this one is the upscaled version of the original. So yeah, it's slightly better than the original. So
here's the original on the left. Here's
the upscaled on the right. Um, is it better with the text?
Yeah, I think it's slightly better with the text, but it's it's still kind of jaggedy, right? So, next thing I'm going
jaggedy, right? So, next thing I'm going to do is pull up the vector one, the vector binary. This one right here.
vector binary. This one right here.
Um, this is the one that knocked out the color. And this is the vector colors
color. And this is the vector colors right here where um it still has that weird background that didn't remove.
Right. So, we're going to zoom in on both of these.
Look how it did with this one. I think
it turned out really good. But you can see it it like lost some details, right?
It doesn't have all the details that it did in the original. But look at that.
Look at these. When you come up close to the letters, it's nice and clean. So,
um, big advantage here for vectorizing.
I think I like vectorizing the best in this scenario. You may have to test
this scenario. You may have to test both. Sometimes upscaling is better,
both. Sometimes upscaling is better, especially if you don't want to lose all the details. If you're doing more like a
the details. If you're doing more like a photo photo realalistic and you need all those details to not be changed into this where you can see it's kind of
losing details, but oh yeah, let me let me pull up here.
It's kind of losing the details, but because this is an illustration, the details don't really matter that much.
In fact, I feel like this one, this vector binary is the winner for me. This
is what I would do if I um downloaded it from um Gemini and then I would change it to this in this style, the vector illustration style. So, there you go.
illustration style. So, there you go.
Now, let's see what it does with the other one. I'm not going to go through
other one. I'm not going to go through the whole thing. I'll pull up the one that I did earlier um with my crow that looks like Jaws, but it says cause and we'll go from there. All right. So, same
thing. I dragged in the download that I got from uh Gemini. I threw it in here.
So this is the original. I've got to type that in. Original.
I did the upscale version of it. So this
is it upscaled. And then I did the vectorzed version of it. I didn't do the binary one because I wanted to keep the color. So you can still do the other one
color. So you can still do the other one by keeping the color here. If I did the binary one, it would have changed everything to black and white. So I
wanted the color rise one. Um, but I'm going to show you. I'm going to download these and then show you the different qualities of this as well. So, I'm just going to hit download. Make sure to get rid of the transparent background. I
have this black background just to replicate what it would look like on a black t-shirt. You can see it has this
black t-shirt. You can see it has this white border kind of like the poster would. Um, you can remove that if you
would. Um, you can remove that if you want by removing the background, but I I didn't do that. So, I I actually intentionally wanted to keep that there.
So, I'm going to hit download and then let's pull it up just like we did with the other ones. And I'll zoom in and you can see you'll see the difference on these as well. All right. So, again, we have the original, the upscaled, and the
vectorzed. I'm going to pull it here
vectorzed. I'm going to pull it here first. The original.
first. The original.
I'm going to just go here. Um, we can zoom in. And we can see already that
zoom in. And we can see already that it's not as clear, right? Look at the letters. It's kind of fuzzy. Um, I'll
letters. It's kind of fuzzy. Um, I'll
pull up another one. And so that's the original upscaled.
Come in here. Make this about the right size.
This uh I think I hit it three times. You can
see that's way clearer now. Uh I'm
almost wondering if this is the vector run and I um didn't label it right.
We'll see. Okay, so possibly the vector run and I didn't label it right. Um,
this one is supposed to be the vectorized one.
And let's pull it up here. 1 2 3. This
one's clear, too. So, yeah, I think they both worked in this case. My upscaled
version is really clear. You can see that. And my vectorzed version is really
that. And my vectorzed version is really clear as well. So, in this case, what happened with the vectorzer? it. It
didn't do the clean enough line. So, if
you come in here, um the vectorzer, now that I know that this is the vectorzer one, sometimes it doesn't vectorize it super clean. But when you're out this
super clean. But when you're out this far like that, it's not going to matter that much. So, um in this case, I think
that much. So, um in this case, I think the upscaled one did really well. It
came in here. Um even when I come in here, it's still cleaner than the vectorzer one. So, try both and see.
vectorzer one. So, try both and see.
zoom in which one's clearer and then pick which one works the best. In this
case, the upscaled one I think is better than the vectorzed one. In the other case, the vectorzer one, especially the binary one with the black and white is
better. You may feel the same like if
better. You may feel the same like if this was more photorealistic, probably the upscaled one would be better too because you might lose some things um
with the vectorzer one. So, those are the two ways that you can do this to get it ready for um print on demand. Now, it
is ready. It's the right size. Um both
of these examples are 4500 x 5400. Let
me show you what it looks like when we bring it into something like Amazon.
Okay, so I'm on Amazon. I'm going to bring the upscaled version of the uh cause one right here. And you can see it's the right size. Um, and then it has
that white like I said and it's ready to go. The background is good and so on. It
go. The background is good and so on. It
works. Um, I'm going to bring the other one in too. Let me go get rid of this.
I'll hit the um trash can here just to show you that the other one works as well. So, I'm going to bring it in. This
well. So, I'm going to bring it in. This
is the binary version of this. Of
course, the t-shirt is showing through, so I'm going to have to pick like either a white background or one of these lighter ones, you know, so that it would show through. There you go. I'll zoom in
show through. There you go. I'll zoom in here so you can see how good that is.
So, that's it. That's all you need to do when you create a design from AI, whether it be Google banana or chat GPT
or whether any other AI uh that is 1024x 1024, you're going to either have to upscale it or vectorize it. And
hopefully now you know the difference.
So there you go. That's how you get a piece of artwork from AI ready for print on demand. You can do it all in Canva,
on demand. You can do it all in Canva, which is really incredible. I didn't
know that those apps existed. The
vectorzer and the upscaler are both in Canva that you can use. Now, if you want to see another another thing in Canva that I recently discovered, which is Canva AI, it's gotten really good
lately. I'll put that video right here.
lately. I'll put that video right here.
You can see some examples of how to do AI within Canva. So, you don't have to use Google Gemini or chat GPT or anything like that. Hopefully, this
video is really helpful for you. Thanks
again for watching and as always, keep creating and keep learning. I'll see you on the next one. Bye.
