We Tested 100+ E-Bikes — These Are the Best Electric Bikes 2026

Fair warning, this is not going to be your traditional best of YouTube video where we throw out seven or eight bikes that we really like and tell you these are the best ones of 2026.

The reality is buying a bike is a very complicated process. First of all, you

complicated process. First of all, you literally have probably over a thousand bike models in existence that you can choose from, right? you have price ranges from $500 all the way up to $15,000.

It's really hard and it's complicated.

So, what we have done, we have taken the hundreds of bikes that we have tested the past year or two when first of all, we made a cut at $3,000 and below. Then,

we broke the bikes into categories and and carefully selected the best bikes in each of those categories. All in order to help you decide if that's the right

bike for you.

[music] All right, so let's jump in. And I'll

again apologize right up front. This

one's going to be a little bit longer because there's a lot that goes into this video. you know, as you know,

this video. you know, as you know, essentially what we've done in the past year since our last best of video, we've tested over 100 bikes from all the main brands, right? So, we took that group of

brands, right? So, we took that group of bikes, we cut it off at $3,000. The

reason why we cut it out at $3,000, we're only going up to there is because that's where we really see kind of the biggest break kind of difference in the market where sub 3,000 are really more the lifestyle bikes, the bikes that

you're kind of riding around town, cruising, commuting, and it cuts out most of, not all, there's a couple here, but it cuts out most of the high performance bikes. So, think electric

performance bikes. So, think electric mountain bikes, you know, high-end electric road bikes, things that really more endemic cyclists are looking for.

So, this is kind of like the best video for your for every everyone, right? Um,

we'll do mountain bikes, we'll do high-end bikes later, but this one, again, we're sticking sub $3,000. We've

broken them down into various categories again to try to try to clean it up a little bit and help you decide, oh, that is the type of bike I need. I need a commuter. I need a cruiser. No, I'd like

commuter. I need a cruiser. No, I'd like a fat tire. And then from within there, that's where it really got hard. We had

to take all the bikes under that category, look at our test data, look at the components, look at the price, look at the specs, just all of that, and come up

with two winners. And that's really hard to do. And I will also add a caveat that

to do. And I will also add a caveat that we honestly could have done three or four or five in each one of those. It's

there are really a lot of good bikes this year, especially this year. We have

seen a very big jump in quality across the board in 2026. It has been a fantastic year. We have been incredibly

fantastic year. We have been incredibly busy with bike launches and so it's just a lot of work. But that is what we've done. We've tried to simplify this to

done. We've tried to simplify this to make it as helpful and easy for you to know which bike [music] in each category is the best of 2026.

Okay, so let's dive in. And one quick note, as I go through these bikes, I'm not going to be able to go through all the different specs. There's going to be links to the reviews. You can go into all of that there. I'm trying to

highlight just the three or four main reasons why that bike earned a spot on this list. So, keep that in mind. And

this list. So, keep that in mind. And

with that being said, the first category we're going to tackle is the moto inspired or moped style ebikes. A

category that is incredibly popular has been really incredibly popular this last year. Somewhat controversial because

year. Somewhat controversial because there are historically have been brands that have pushed well beyond the limits where they'll ship bikes where they can go 43 mph right out of the gate. All of

those bikes not included in even in our discussion, we've stuck with street legal bikes that are doing the best from good companies trying to follow the rules. And the gold winner of this

rules. And the gold winner of this category is the Juicest Scrambler. Now,

Juiced has two different Scrambler options. There's a full suspension and a

options. There's a full suspension and a hard tail. And the main reason why this

hard tail. And the main reason why this one won gold, other than I mean just being a really fun bike to ride, is the value. The bang for your buck is

value. The bang for your buck is classic. I mean, Juicest is owned by the

classic. I mean, Juicest is owned by the parent company of Electric, and that is what Electric does. That's kind of their magic that they sprinkle in where you can get really high quality components

at a really fantastic price. And that's

what they've done with Juiced. So, you

have Power Sports Grade uh suspension.

You have KK suspension on both models that is plush, comfortable, and very I mean really high quality suspension. You

have a almost thousandwatth hour battery pack using the latest LG cells that we got over 40 miles on on full power. So

that's max power us throttling over 40 mi of range which is just fantastic.

They have they both both models have four piston brakes that they developed with Star Union specifically for those bikes. Heavier bikes need better brakes

bikes. Heavier bikes need better brakes and these have them. And on top of that, they also have a very powerful motor.

They were the the Scrambler was actually one of our top hill climbing bikes for the year. So, you get all of that

the year. So, you get all of that about $1,000 plus less than a comparable some other certain brand that I won't mention, right? So, really good value,

mention, right? So, really good value, really good bang for your buck. And for

me, the reason why I put this number one is as a parent, and let's be honest, most of the people buying these are is for their older teenagers, right? It's

very [music] safe. So, it's parent control power. So, it's powerful. It's

control power. So, it's powerful. It's

fun. It's peppy. It's all the things that older teens want. But, as a parent, I have the ability to go in and say, "Yeah, you can only go 15 miles an hour.

You can get 16, 18. I can set the speed limit on the bike, and my kid can't do anything about it." And then as he or she shows me that they're responsible, I can increase that. But I can't go past

20 miles an hour on throttle, this bike is fully street legal, fully compliant for all those different municipalities that are making rules against ebikes partially because of this category. The

silver award winner of this category is the Ride OneUp Rev One Dirt. And to be honest, it is in my opinion possibly the best looking moto inspired ebike in this

category. I just think it looks

category. I just think it looks fantastic, looks aggressive, [music] looks powerful, looks fun, and it is. It

really is built with kind of an authentic off-road [music] DNA built into it. The dual suspension, trail

into it. The dual suspension, trail geometry, lowslung, you know, moto saddle, and [music] really aggressive multi-surface tires make this a really good bike for heavy jumps, loose dirt,

and [music] just a lot of fun out there on the trails. It also has really great components at a good price. You get four piston brakes. You get 150 mm dual dual

piston brakes. You get 150 mm dual dual crown fork. And you get a powerful hill

crown fork. And you get a powerful hill charging motor that honestly like this is one of the most fun moped style bikes that you can get. All for a price that

is incredibly, you know, it's around 23 $2,400. Fantastic value. Now, one note,

$2,400. Fantastic value. Now, one note, yes, you can unlock this to go past those class 3 settings. However, you do have to basically agree and commit that

you will not ride that on a, you know, city street or a trail where it's not legal. So, I will just encourage anyone

legal. So, I will just encourage anyone who buys this, please follow those rules and if you're going to unlock this, keep it to the back roads where that is

legal. Next category is the exact

legal. Next category is the exact opposite of the moto inspired. That is

the urban lightweight commuters. And

this is a category that also has become very popular this year where because of motor technology, battery technology, and in improvements in overall just kind

of quality of bike, brands are now able to make an ebike that looks like a bike and that is still incredibly fun to ride. And the gold winner award for this

ride. And the gold winner award for this category goes to the Velatric Tempo.

Now, this is a bike that I mean really just embodies the ethos of this style of bike. It looks like a bicycle but rides

bike. It looks like a bicycle but rides like an ebike. So, it's only 42 lb. So,

it's very easy to move around, very nimble while you're riding, but it is still powerful and still has good range.

It's, you know, they claim to have 60 mi of range. We actually got 70 in eco, so

of range. We actually got 70 in eco, so really solid range, but also good power and frankly more power than I would expect from a bike with a 350 W rear hub

motor that only generates 45 Nm of torque. But really, it's faster than I

torque. But really, it's faster than I expected and climbs hills better than we expected. And on top of that, has a lot

expected. And on top of that, has a lot of really cool tech built in. You have I mean, Velra kind of put in a biometric workout integration. Essentially, you

workout integration. Essentially, you get a chest strap that syncs with the bike and keeps the bike and adjusts the power output so your heart rate stays within a certain zone. So, really cool

from like a fitness bike standpoint. If

you're looking to get a good workout on the bike, you can do it. or you can just go full power and again just get there super fast. So really cool that they

super fast. So really cool that they built in that with that tech alongside Velri's other standard tech like their sensor swap, the Apple find my Google find hub and you get all of that at

under $1,500, you know, and for me it's just an incredibly fun bike to ride. It's

actually the bike that if I have to jump on and go to an appointment or something from the office or if I'm going to commute in an, you know, home and back, I grab that about 90% of the time. 90%

of the time just because it is that fun to ride. The silver award winner goes to

to ride. The silver award winner goes to the Ride OneUp Roadster V3. Now, the

Roadster V3 is one of the bikes that kind of started this lightweight trend.

I mean, there were other bikes out there for sure, but they just nailed it out of the gate. And on top of that, they did

the gate. And on top of that, they did so at such a great price. Currently, the

bike is priced at $13.95.

Just comes loaded with some really good specs. You have a 500 watt 50 N meter

specs. You have a 500 watt 50 N meter hub drive motor. You have a N-speed Microshift drivetrain. I mean, they

Microshift drivetrain. I mean, they started off with Shimano Nine-Speed, but went to the Micro Shift and actually got a little bit better with that. As a side note, you wouldn't expect that from Microshift, but it's a really good drivetrain and gives you range that's

helpful on a lighter weight, less powerful bike. You also get really good

powerful bike. You also get really good tires. They either come with Schwabies

tires. They either come with Schwabies or Continentals, and both of those make fantast fantastic tires. Again, in this category of bike, that's important because you want something that goes

fast and rolls well, but also has some grip so you don't kind of slide out on the pavement when things get a little bit wet. And they really dialed it in

bit wet. And they really dialed it in with those tires. And that's kind of just a kind of what you just get from Ride OneUp. Just good value, great

Ride OneUp. Just good value, great quality components on a bike that's just really fun and has a very natural ride feel. Their Intuitive torque sensor

feel. Their Intuitive torque sensor system, it's from Mise. When you pair that with her 500 watt motor, it feels very natural, but also peppy and just fun out of the gate where it rides like

a bike. And again, it's just fun. And at

a bike. And again, it's just fun. And at

only 44 lb, it's easy to it's just very nimble, very easy to kind of throw around and move around and have fun with. Um, and then finally, they also

with. Um, and then finally, they also have added a suspension model, which I'm a big fan of. You know, adds a little bit of weight, but if you're someone that wants a little bit more comfortable

ride, it does have that option. The next

category is the best fat tire of 2026.

And when we're looking at fat tire bikes, we are wanting something that is powerful both for speed and for climbing hills. And we want something that is

hills. And we want something that is comfortable because these are bikes that are very I mean, you can use them on on a lot of different types of trails. We have a lot of readers and viewers who use a fat

tire bike to commute to and from work and then they'll cruise around the neighborhood on the weekend or take it camping and ride some like double track dirt roads. So, the bike needs to be

dirt roads. So, the bike needs to be versatile and it needs to be powerful and comfortable. With that being said,

and comfortable. With that being said, the gold winner for 2026 is the Aventon Adventure. You know, the Adventure has

Adventure. You know, the Adventure has been kind of the top rated fat tire bike for the past several years and for good reason. Aventon continues to push the

reason. Aventon continues to push the industry forward and add innovation to these fat tire bikes to make them more usable and just loved by so many people.

You know, back in the day, they were the first one to put hydraulic disc brakes on a fat tire bike. kind of an obvious thing now. Wasn't so obvious back then.

The thing that they added this year was the mid drive. So, you have a rear hub motor and a mid drive option. And you

know, we haven't seen someone with a mid drive option under $3,000 that was this finely tuned and well built. Both motors

and both bikes are very powerful and have really good range. So, on the on the rear hub motor, 750 watts can get you up a hill again. Really, really

good. The Aventure M the mid drive comes with that 100 newton meter torque motor which is really high torque for a mid drive and just absolutely crushes hills.

So even though Aventon went to the 36V system on their latest adventures, you do not lose out on power, but you do gain on range. Both have really good range. Now in addition, they also both

range. Now in addition, they also both leverage kind of a Benton's very wellestablished platform. Now, they both

wellestablished platform. Now, they both have the gravity cast frames which are not they don't just look good, but they're very rigid and ride very well.

They also have Aventon's ACU. So, that's

their advanced control unit which is kind of all that tech connectivity, right? So, you have the geo fencing, the

right? So, you have the geo fencing, the 4G connectivity, you have the bike theft deterrence, you have OTAA updates. So,

that's really important. If they want to update the motor, you can do it kind of like a Tesla. And you have ride tuning.

That's my favorite part where you can go on and customize each assist level to how you want it in both bikes. They both

feature an upright comfortable geometry, but not cruiser upright. It's still

somewhat aggressive, but kind of in between. And a lot of people really like

between. And a lot of people really like that. Um, and then when you look at that

that. Um, and then when you look at that M, again, that's their, you know, higher level, I guess you would say. You know,

it has electronic shifting, auto shift.

It has that again that 100 Newton meter torque motor and it really gives riders who maybe they want to have something a little more performanceoriented but they still want a fat tire that does

not exist that is hard to find. Aventon

has given that to them and again both of them have really good range where on that mid drive motor we got over 100 miles of range on it. The silver award winner for the fat tire category is the

Velatric Nomad. Now the Nomad has two

Velatric Nomad. Now the Nomad has two different options. Do you have the Velri

different options. Do you have the Velri Nomad 2, which is a rear hub, front suspension, and then you have the Velri Nomad 2X, which is also a rear hub, but

is a full suspension bike. And both

bikes are incredibly well-built, very high weight capacity. So, they're

fantastic bikes for heavier riders and people that just want a very just sturdy feeling bike that's very comfortable and powerful. Now, the Nomad 2X, a couple of

powerful. Now, the Nomad 2X, a couple of the highlights there. First of all, it has a 120 mil air front suspension fork and 80 mil air rear shock. So, very

comfortable, very adjustable. Again,

it's an air shock, not a spring shock.

So, higher quality than we would expect at this 23.99 price point. The payload

capacity is 560 lb, has a,000 lb towing capacity. So, you have a really beefy,

capacity. So, you have a really beefy, good quality bike there. Um, a lot of people like it for hunting and they've even built in a stealth mode for hunting specifically. When you pair that with a

specifically. When you pair that with a very high powerful, high torque motor, so it's 105 new m of torque, you have a bike that handles hills, steep steep

roads very well and very capably. Um,

the Nomad 2 also very capable bike.

Again, not full suspension and a little a couple of the specs are a little bit different. First of all, the payload

different. First of all, the payload capacity is 505 lbs. It also has the front fork. It's a 100 millimeter

front fork. It's a 100 millimeter hydraulic fork. So, a good fork. Not the

hydraulic fork. So, a good fork. Not the

same quality on the Nomad 2X, but kind of to be expected given the price difference. Um, and then the motor is a

difference. Um, and then the motor is a n only 90 N of torque. So, still really high high torque motor, really good hill climber, and really well-built bike.

Now, both of these bikes share in Velatrix Comfort Max, right? I don't

know if I'd call it technology, just their approach to building bikes that's just very comfortable. So, compared to the Adventure, it's a little more upright and almost kind of more of a Dutch style handlebar where a little

more back sweep on those bars. So, just

brings you up a little bit more, but still is very nimble and fun to ride.

Um, you also have Velrix technology built in. So, you have the sensor swap,

built in. So, you have the sensor swap, you have three riding modes with five different pedal assist levels. So

instead of going in and tuning each one individually like you can on the Aventon, they have those kind of built in so you can just kind of pre-select one and find one that you really like.

Gives a lot of variable that variables there. Takes a minute to get used to,

there. Takes a minute to get used to, but I really like it because people do like to ride the bikes differently. Um,

also has OTA updates and is basically waterproof. So it's IPX7 waterproof on

waterproof. So it's IPX7 waterproof on the battery, IPX6 on the bike and does include Apple Fine My as well. Okay, the

next category a little bit different.

It's the best value. And by best value, I'm not meaning best cheap or least expensive. I'm what I'm saying is the

expensive. I'm what I'm saying is the bike that brings the most value, [music] the most bang for your buck. And that

award goes to the Monarch Marker and Monarch Tracer. So kind of they're both

Monarch Tracer. So kind of they're both basically two of the same bikes built on the same platform. Just one's a fat tire and one is more of an SUV type commuter.

And the reason why I'm kind of creating a cy category just for this is because what Monarch is doing is just very unique and I think they deserve credit

and a big shout out for that. Now

Monarch is also brand owned by Electric's parent company. You're kind

of seeing a trend here. electric is

using past success to expand. And in the Monarch brand, they're expanding into kind of a higher quality bike. And

they've done an absolute bangup job at adding value with bringing in components you don't generally see sub $2,000.

Now, some of those components, what are they? First of all, a N-speed Shimano

they? First of all, a N-speed Shimano Q's drivetrain. So Shimano Q's is

Q's drivetrain. So Shimano Q's is definitely a step up from the Shimano Tory, Altus, Asera that we typically see in this price point. It's just a really good system. Um, also they brought over

good system. Um, also they brought over the four piston hydraulic disc brakes that they developed with Juicest onto these bikes for excellent stopping power. They have a the front fork is

power. They have a the front fork is also an area that they're very proud of.

Essentially what it is, it's a through axle reverse arch fork. So we've had comments of people saying, "Wait, that fork's backwards. You got you just put

fork's backwards. You got you just put it together wrong. No, we didn't. The

reverse arc fork was patented essentially by Manitou and the reverse arch allows them to build a fork that is lighter and stiffer. So, it's just more responsive and just feels really good

out on the trail. And [music] they've they brought that to both the marker and the Tracer models. In addition, they the motor and kind of that the motor and the

controller is very high quality. It's

from Buffang. It's a 750 watt with a max of 1638 watts. So, a really high max wattage.

And part of that's because there's a 30 amp controller. When you tie that with

amp controller. When you tie that with 85 new Newton meters of torque, you get a fast bike and you get a bike that climbs hills really well. The Tracer

does climb up faster, thinner tires, more commuter style, but they're both very powerful and climb hills incredibly well. And on top of that, they give you

well. And on top of that, they give you a 5 amp fast charger. So that's really good tech all bundled in for a price that is just again under $2,000 is just

really incredible. But where they win

really incredible. But where they win the award is because they give you a second battery for free when you buy a bike. So that's a $45$500 value right

bike. So that's a $45$500 value right there when you buy the bike. And that

just doesn't happen, right? Like that's

a very good value. Partly because of the kind of the no the the quantity that electric buys. They're able to negotiate

electric buys. They're able to negotiate good pricing, but also the direct to consumer model kind of cuts out the middleman and they re a lot of people will say they're cutting out the middleman and saving you money and they

don't. In this case, Monarch is actually

don't. In this case, Monarch is actually passing those savings along to you and they're passing that along in the in the in the form of an extra second free

battery. Next up, best SUV for 2026.

Now, an SUV bike is a bike that can kind of do a little bit of everything pretty well. So, it can be a commuter. It can

well. So, it can be a commuter. It can

cruise around town. You can also kind of again take it off-road a little bit.

[music] Not as fat tire as a fat tire bike, but does have bigger tires than a commuter. And it's just again kind of

commuter. And it's just again kind of how a lot of people in America like SUVs with their cars. We're starting to see that on the bikes where it's a little more powerful, a little more robust, and

just a really good platform for a lot of different riders. And the winner of the

different riders. And the winner of the gold award for 2026, best SUV, is the Ride OneUp Forsa. Now, Ride OneUp has done a very interesting thing with the Vorsa Forsa this year where they've

turned it into a platform. They kind of took the sameish frame and have built three bikes out of it. So, you have the Vorsa Light, you have the Vorsa, and you have the Vorsa FT or fat tire. And we're

highlighting the original Vorsa here because it is it kind of sits between that light and that fat tire as a jack of all trades. Um, and it's just a really good value, which is why it wins

the gold award. Classic ride oneup for under $1,600. You get really good

under $1,600. You get really good components and you get a really good ride quality. So, component-wise, you

ride quality. So, component-wise, you get a 750 W400 W Peak motor with 95 Nm of torque. It is a really good hill

of torque. It is a really good hill climbing bike. one of the best ones that

climbing bike. one of the best ones that we've had. But the power isn't [music]

we've had. But the power isn't [music] kind of the only thing, right? So, the

range has really good range. It comes

with a 15 amp amp hour battery using Samsung cells. And Ride OneUp has

Samsung cells. And Ride OneUp has improved the quality of the sensor where when you combine that with their Intuitive Drive system, it makes the just the overall feel of the bike is

very natural, very smooth. It's not

lurchy. It stops when you stop pedaling and really makes the bike feel like a $2 to $3,000 bike that you're getting for under $1,600.

The silver award winner for best SUV is the Urtopia Carbon Atom. Now, Topia is a brand that you may not have heard of.

It's kind of a newer brand that's making a really big push into the US market.

Side note, they also just bought Pedigo.

Um, so you're definitely going to hear more from them in the future. But what

Otopia is known for and why the carbon atom is on this list, it's partially in the name, carbon fiber. So the Topia carbon atom has a carbon fiber frame, not wheels, but the frame. And that is

not something you usually get under $2,500. So the MSRP right now is $24.99.

$2,500. So the MSRP right now is $24.99.

And just put that in perspective.

Usually when you're going from an aluminum frame bike to a carbon frame bike, you're adding $2,000 just for the frame. And so to be able to put that

frame. And so to be able to put that under $2,500 on a bike that has also really good other specs, just fantastic.

And I'm very excited to see what Arttopia does in the future. Now

specwise on the Atom, it has a powerful motor, so 750 W motor. It peaks at 1200 watts with 90 N of torque, so it climbs hills well. Um, it's fast. It also

hills well. Um, it's fast. It also

includes some really good kind of commuting things like turn signals. You

can get a rack. Has good range. We were

able to get 45 miles on boost alone and so it can be used as that commuter can be used to kind of cruise around but also you know the front suspension and it has a suspension seat post makes it a

little more comfortable to take off-road and when you combine those good components with carbon fiber just makes for a very comfortable ride feel. You

know, again, I keep talking about the carbon fiber, but carbon fiber, one of the reasons why it's more expensive is because you can make it more rigid and stiff in areas that you need to while being lighter weight, but then you can

also make it a little more compliant in places where you want it to be a little less stiff. And so, you really can tune

less stiff. And so, you really can tune that ride quality. And has done a fantastic job of doing that with their carbon atom. Next up, best folding ebike

carbon atom. Next up, best folding ebike for 2026. And this is a category that is

for 2026. And this is a category that is incredibly popular because the bikes are so versatile, right? You can commute on them. You can, you know, just cruise

them. You can, you know, just cruise around town. You can take them out

around town. You can take them out camping all while being able to fold up and put in put in your Honda Civic if you don't have a bike rack. [music] And

the winner of the best folding ebike of 2026, no surprise, is the electric XP4.

This is a bike that has won this award for several years, and it's actually the exact same bike that was on our list last year. um and frankly just still

last year. um and frankly just still belongs on that list partially because of the quality but also because of the value that electric adds [music] for that price. Right? So there's two

different versions. You have the 500

different versions. You have the 500 watt that is just under $1,000 and the 750 watt that's under $1299.

And with that they really do pack a lot of good high quality components um that just I mean really does make it a good value bike. However, a couple of things

value bike. However, a couple of things that really electric did to improve the ride quality of the bike on this last version are significant. First of all, they shortened the reach. They took the

stem and they actually instead of having to camp forward, they lined it up with a fork, reducing the reach and just making the overall ride quality better cuz you're not out with locked arms like a

zombie riding a bike, but you're in a little bit more natural and have a better maneuverability. Second, they

better maneuverability. Second, they stiffen the frame significantly. So

instead of feeling a little bit like a folding bike, it doesn't feel like it's a folding bike at all. It is very rigid which improves your handling in a significant manner. And then finally,

significant manner. And then finally, you know, very powerful motor and good quality brakes. So the motor on that 750

quality brakes. So the motor on that 750 W version was actually our most powerful and fastest hill climbing folding bike that we've tested in the last year. And

the Star Union brakes electric developed for this bike specifically was also one of our best stopping bikes. So, it's

powerful, it's safe, and it's a really good value. The silver award winner for

good value. The silver award winner for best folding ebike of 2026 is the Ride OneUp Porto. Now, this is a bike that,

OneUp Porto. Now, this is a bike that, to be honest, is a little bit long in the tooth. It's been out for a couple

the tooth. It's been out for a couple years, and I mean, frankly, we're keeping on here because it's still a really good bike. It handles well. It's

a fun bike to ride, and the price is just very attractive. So, $995 right now for a 750 W rear hub, you know, folding fat tire bike that pedals incredibly

well. It's a very good deal. Red OneUp

well. It's a very good deal. Red OneUp

always has good deals, right? Like,

that's just kind of what they're known for. Um, and there's no exception to the

for. Um, and there's no exception to the Porola at under $1,000. This just is a bike you still should consider, especially given kind of where the current economy is and how bikes have

gone up in price due to tariffs. It's

kind of nice to see that they're still priced below $1,000. Now, couple other highlights on this bike. Number one

might seem small, but when you fold it up, there's actually a little strap that kind of connects both both sections together so it doesn't open up when you're moving it around. I know that sounds a little bit weird to highlight

in a video like this, but it really makes a difference. And we would like to see more brands, hint hint, do more of those straps so the bike stay together.

because it is a folding bike. You want

to lift it up, put in your car, makes it a lot easier. Second of all, it just has a really good natural ride feel where, you know, it has a cadence sensor, but

it's programmed incredibly well. So,

it's it's definitely easier in terms of like how much power you have to put into it, which a lot of people like, but it's not jerky. It's natural, it's smooth,

not jerky. It's natural, it's smooth, and just adds to that overall quality that you find with the Ride Walnut Porto. Next up, we have the best

Porto. Next up, we have the best commuters of 2026. Now, for commuters, we're going to do things a little bit different where we're going to give two

gold awards to two different bikes. A,

they both deserve it. B, they approach a commuter from a little different style.

However, we're judging all commuters, and these two specifically on a couple key metrics. First of all, power. Can

key metrics. First of all, power. Can

you get to and from the office quickly without sweating? Range. Do you have to

without sweating? Range. Do you have to charge halfway through the office? you

have to charge once you get to the office and back. You really want to have good range on these bikes, right? So,

those are the two key things in addition to comfort and quality and all of that, right? But, that being said, first gold

right? But, that being said, first gold winner is the Aventon Level 4. Now, the

Level has always been your straight up classic 3 commuter where you're in a little more aggressive stance, leaning forward with flat, straight handlebars.

It really is just a stance that lends itself to speed and it's very comfortable for a lot of kind of more traditional cyclists. This is typically

traditional cyclists. This is typically what you see with a bike, right? And the

level four has two variations just like the adventure where Aventon has brought in a mid drive to the mix. So they have the level four wreck which is their 750

W rear hub motor and then they have the level 480V which is their mid drive version. Both of them are actually

version. Both of them are actually fantastic bikes. It really kind of

fantastic bikes. It really kind of depends on your budget level and which kind of feel that you prefer, right? But

first of all, from range. So on the level four wreck, we got 97 miles on our eco test, which is just incredible from

that um cuz it also felt powerful the whole the whole way. Part of that is because they added regenerative braking to this. So really cool tech where as

to this. So really cool tech where as you're braking, it feeds the motor, gives you a little bit more range.

Somewhere between 5 and 8% is kind of what we're thinking, but it does matter on a on a commuter. Love the fact that it did that. It even got 43 miles on max power. So, really good range there. The

power. So, really good range there. The

level 480V, the mid drive, takes that another step further where we got almost 120 mi of range on min and over 50 mi of

range on max. So, killer range on that mid drive. Now, both of those bikes,

mid drive. Now, both of those bikes, Aventon shipped it to a 36volt system, which made a lot of people worried like, oh, you're not going to have enough power on a 36vt because 48's bigger than 36, so it's more powerful and it's not

going to be good. Not true. Aventon was

really able to design the system to still give you power. Where on the level four wreck, you still have 750 watts with,40 watts [music] of peak power. and

the level 480V gives you 100 new meters of torque, which is really a good measure for that mid drive motor. Both of them were actually some of the fastest hill climbers in the commuter category. So,

yes, 36V system that gives you a little more range, but you still have all the power that you need all day long. And

then when you combine that with the Aventon platform that we've already talked about, the gravity cast rain, the Aventon ACU, all the OTAA OTAA updates, the connectivity, the theft protection,

just, you know, all of that is built into these bikes just makes a really good commuter even better. [music] And

that, you know, the ADV, you know, when you come down to it, do I want the wreck, the rear hub, or the ADV? That

just kind of depends on you. The mid

drive does come with electronic shifting. um does come with a Q's

shifting. um does come with a Q's 10-speed drivetrain, a little bit more money and a little more natural ride feel. So, it just depends on you kind of

feel. So, it just depends on you kind of what you want. Um but the but the rear hub is also a very good bike. The next

gold winner is the Velcri Discover. Now,

the Velri Discover takes a different approach to commuter. Whereas the

Aventon takes that more kind of classic, more aggressive stance with a flat bar, slightly bent over. The Veltric Discover takes a very comfortable approach. So

more Dutch style handlebars. So little

little back sweep on the bars, less of a reach, so you're more upright and again more comfort. So they both take that

more comfort. So they both take that different approach. They're both

different approach. They're both fantastic bikes though, which is why we're giving them both gold medals essentially. Now, the Discover with

essentially. Now, the Discover with Veltric, they also offered a mid drive version this year. So, there's the Discover 3, which is a rear hub, and the Discover M, which is their mid drive

version. Both are very powerful. Both

version. Both are very powerful. Both

have good range. But, how's that break down? So, the Discover 3, we were able

down? So, the Discover 3, we were able to get 85 mi on min and over 35 mi on max. So, good range. The Discover M, we

max. So, good range. The Discover M, we got 80 mi on min and 32 mi on max.

Power-wise, they were also some of our faster hill climbers. Not quite as fast as Venton, but almost I mean little behind, but not much at all. Um, so the

Discover 3 has a 750 W motor that peaks at, 1100 W and has 75 Nm of torque and the Discover M hasund 100 Nm torque mid

[music] drive motor. So good range, good power, slightly less than the than the Aventon level, right? again, which kind of makes sense given that this is not as traditional of a commuter, but they lean

much more into the comfort side, and that's where this one shines. So, they

have what Velri calls it their comfort max. And what that means is you have on

max. And what that means is you have on the on the Discovery, you have a suspension seat post, you have an air fork, you have more Dutch geometry, so that's sweatback handlebars, shorter

reach, and you have a very comfortable saddle and an adjustable stem. So

really, you can set up these bikes to be exactly how you want and they really are some of the most comfortable bikes that you can buy, but you still get that speed. You still get that power and on

speed. You still get that power and on top of that, you still have Velrix like classic tech. So you still have the

classic tech. So you still have the class switching, right? So with one button actually on these, you can switch between cadence and torque. You have

your ride tuning, you have your you have your Apple fine mic, and you have the NFC card unlock. So, lots of technology, really good power, really good range added to that comfort max makes the

Bellatric Discover either the three or the M just a fantastic bike. And really,

when you're looking between either the mid drives or the hub drives in hub drives in this category, really just ask yourself, do you want one that's a [music] little more fitnessoriented where you end up kind of it feels more

natural, but that means you end up putting a little bit more into it, that would be the mid drive. If you want one where you're kind of more just sitting back and letting the bike do a little bit more of the work, that would be the

hub drive. Next up, we have the best

hub drive. Next up, we have the best cruisers of 2026. Now, these are Dutch style cruisers. And so, what we're

style cruisers. And so, what we're looking for is a lighter weight can be a little bit less powerful. Doesn't have

to be as powerful as a as a commuter or a fat tire, but a lighter [music] weight kind of nimble, you know, fun bike to ride. Um, but that you're more upright.

ride. Um, but that you're more upright.

So you're not leaned over, you're not hunched over, you're not putting a lot of pressure on your wrist, but you're a little more upright, shorter reached with those Dutch style, you know, handlebars that are swept back just a little bit. So comfort really is the

little bit. So comfort really is the focus. [music] And given that, I don't

focus. [music] And given that, I don't think it's a surprise that the gold winner is the Velcri Breeze 1, right? So

the Breeze 1 is a fairly light, it's a lighter weight bike at just over 50 lbs.

It's very comfortable. has Velcri's

Comfort Max, you know, kind of built in, but it's still powerful. So, on the comfort side, that Veltric Comfort Max, what that means is you have an adjustable stem. You have a shorter

adjustable stem. You have a shorter reach with the Dutch style handlebars.

You have a very comfortable saddle and a low step over height. You don't have that front suspension partially because that keeps the bike lighter weight. And,

you know, if you add that, you add the weight, it kind of makes it feel more like a commuter like their Discover 3.

So, lighter weight, good comfort, but also still powerful. So, it's 750 W, 1150 W peak motor with 65 Nm of torque.

Not as powerful as the Discover by any means, especially when climbing hills, but still feel because it's so lightweight, it still feels very zippy and just fun to where if you are cruising around, it's just a [music]

really fun bike to ride. So, when you combine the comfort, the power, you know, and the fact that you have some really cool colors, it just makes for a really good all-around Dutch cruiser.

The silver award winner for best cruiser bike is the Hayike Venus. And this one, again, you probably you may not be as familiar with the brand Hayike, but they've really impressed us with the

Venus. Um, so Venus is a Dutch style

Venus. Um, so Venus is a Dutch style cruiser. It's fairly lightweight at 54

cruiser. It's fairly lightweight at 54 [music] lb. It's very nimble and very

[music] lb. It's very nimble and very comfortable. All for a price that is is

comfortable. All for a price that is is it very attractive at $14.99.

So kind of has all the classic components of a cruiser, but also is pretty powerful. So 750 watts, 1100 peak

pretty powerful. So 750 watts, 1100 peak wattage with 70 Nm of torque and is actually a better hill climber than we expected. It is one of the better hill

expected. It is one of the better hill climbers in the cruiser category, which is very impressive. Um, when you look at the specs- wise, again, really good. The

frame specifically stood out. It's a

hydroform frame, so where there's really no visible weld marks at all. And the

the paint has kind of a premium metallic paint fleck to it that really makes it look high-end, which kind of makes you feel like it's a nicer bike. It's a very

impressive looking bike. Um, that also then adds a really good quality app. So

you have the app has ride tuning, it has navigation, it has OTAA updates, has ride tracking, and it kind of feels like Heyikes going after Velri and Aventton with their apps. Um, [music]

but then also going at them price-wise.

So this is genuinely probably my favorite Hey Bike that I've ever reviewed, and it shows the Hay Bike has some chops and I'm excited to see what they can do in the future given the

quality of the Hayike Venus. Next

category is actually kind of a subcategory of cruiser and that is best beach cruiser ebike of 2026. Now the

beach cruiser is a little bit different than the Dutch cruiser in that basically you're a little more upright even shorter reach where those handlebars are really swept back. So the whole focus is

on comfort leaning back kind of have more having your legs in front of you actually and just cruising around the around the boardwalk. All right now, the gold winner for the best beach cruiser

is the Retrospect Chaam Rev Plus 2. And

Retrospect is a brand that if you're not familiar with them, highly encourage you to go check them out. They're kind of budget focused and does I mean design focus, they have a lot of different colors. They actually have a lot of

colors. They actually have a lot of different models and sometimes I get nervous kind of recommending brands that focus on the value budget side.

Retrospect does a fantastic job. They've

been around for a long time. They have

some of the best support that I've seen and the team at Retrospect is also incredibly impressive. So, that's one of

incredibly impressive. So, that's one of the reasons why we awarded their bike with the best beach cruiser. In addition

though, it the the ChaM Plus 2 really just fits perfectly in that box for beach cruiser. It's very

upright, very short reach, you know, laidback, and just rides incredibly well. So the the power delivery is very

well. So the the power delivery is very smooth and very predictable. So it's not jumpy off the line. It doesn't lurch you forward. It doesn't, you know, have

forward. It doesn't, you know, have massive overrun at the end where you're just not comfortable, right? But it is very just approachable and not over complicated on that. The that being

said, it is still actually pretty powerful. So it comes with a 500 W rear

powerful. So it comes with a 500 W rear hub motor that climbs hills better than expected. It's it's one of the better

expected. It's it's one of the better cruiser climbing bikes that we've tested in this past year. which is actually kind of nice. Yes, your classic beach cruiser, you kind of think just cruising down the boardwalk where it's nice and

flat, but what about 2 minutes up the road where you've got a 100 foot hill that you've got to climb? Like I go to Carl'sbad a lot, there's a lot of hills in Carl'sbad and if you just get a bike

that doesn't have any power, it kind of makes it to where you have to stick at the beach. You can't ride it around

the beach. You can't ride it around town. You can't do other things.

retrospect, putting that 500 watt motor and making this a good climber just kind of extends the value that they're offering with this bike. And again,

another reason why we awarded it with a gold award for the best beach cruiser.

Next category is a bike that frankly I think every family, every person should have in their garage to pair with another bike possibly, and that is the best cargo/utility bikes. These are

bikes that you can pedal to the grocery store, load them up, come back home, and they're really good car replacements, right? And there's kind of two different

right? And there's kind of two different styles. One is more of a long tail,

styles. One is more of a long tail, gives you more cargo capability, or a short tail, which is less cargo capability, but it'll be a little more light and nimble. That being said, the

gold winner for the 2026 best cargo utility is the Electric Expedition 2.0.

Now, this is a bike that priced at $13.99 is incredibly value priced. You

get so much bang for your buck with this, but you don't skimp on any of the components. It is first and foremost,

components. It is first and foremost, the frame is very rigid, which helps it, you know, just ride really well. The

motor is very powerful. It's a 750 W motor. It peaks at 1310 W with 85 Nm of

motor. It peaks at 1310 W with 85 Nm of torque. and it climbs hills really well,

torque. and it climbs hills really well, even when loaded down with cargo, which is exactly what you want. It's also very versatile. There's a lot of different

versatile. There's a lot of different accessories from cushions to running boards to rear baskets for kids, for animals, for cargo. Just really

versatile bike. And further adding to that electric value that they add, you can get a second battery all for under $2,000. So, very impressive price-wise.

Um, and the interesting thing is the electric expedition is actually one of the bikes that I see people that are out riding $10,000 mountain bikes and road bikes. They'll kind of pair that with

bikes. They'll kind of pair that with electric expedition, which is funny cuz for the past 5, six years, I fought with these people telling them how cool ebikes are. And it's been the utility

ebikes are. And it's been the utility cargo bikes that have brought them in to realize, oh, these are really good bikes. There's a lot of value to them

bikes. There's a lot of value to them and maybe they shouldn't rip on a bike just cuz it's sub $2,000. So, I love the fact that the Expedition has done that

for the industry. The silver award winner for the best cargo utility bike is one that's almost completely opposite of what most bikes do in the fact that

it's under 60 lbs. And that is the Ertopia Carbon Joy. Now, this bike, again, I've already talked about Ortopia, so you know what's coming. It's

carbon fiber, which is why it is under 60 lbs and really just changes the dynamic that you get with a utility bike, right? I wouldn't call this a full

bike, right? I wouldn't call this a full cargo bike. It still has really good

cargo bike. It still has really good payload, 330 lb. You can still have a front and a rear rack with it. So, you

definitely can go to the grocery store, grab a couple gallons of milk, throw them back, grab some eggs and some apples, and throw them up front with those racks. But that lightweight,

those racks. But that lightweight, you know, under 60 lbs just really opens this bike up to riders who, you know,

may not be comfortable on a 80 plus pound, you know, cargo bike, but they still want that utility and ability to kind of ride around town, maybe throw a kid, you know, one of the kids on the

back, but then still go to the grocery store. That is exactly what the Rtopia

store. That is exactly what the Rtopia Carbon Joy is. And it is really just a fantastic bike. really well priced,

fantastic bike. really well priced, especially given the fact that it's carbon fiber and, you know, really is that perfect bike if you're looking for a utility bike that you can cruise around town as your daily driver, maybe

even commute to work, but also load up with some, you know, with some groceries. And it's actually the bike

groceries. And it's actually the bike that, you know, I had my my wife choose, hey, which bike do you want at home to be your daily driver? That's the one that she chose for those exact reasons.

And I do find a lot of other riders just deeply appreciate the lightweight feeling of the bike, how nimble it is, but still how it is, you know, such a

utility bike that lets them do so many different things. All right, now we are

different things. All right, now we are to one of the most fun sections, and that is the best performance EMTB. I

love to ride mountain bikes, as do so many people. The challenge there is that

many people. The challenge there is that especially when you add E in front of mountain bike, you're talking a lot of money. I mean, there are bikes that are

money. I mean, there are bikes that are over $15,000 right now and is just insane. And so, the fact that we were

insane. And so, the fact that we were able to find a really good bike under $3,000, yes, it's a hard tail, but it's a really good EMTB. Just absolutely

fantastic. And that gold award goes to the Aventon Ramblas ADV. Now,

this is Aventon's second version of the Ramblas where they really took a great bike with great geometry. Like, I mean, the reach, the, you know, the angle of

the head tube, the stack height, like all of those things were just dialed in really well to where if you're an avid mountain biker, you jumped on it and you loved it. They took that and a good

loved it. They took that and a good solid motor and made the motor even better. So, it's the second version of

better. So, it's the second version of their A100 mid drive motor. has 100 N meters of torque, but it is quieter. The

power delivery is a little more precise than the previous version and it's also right tune capable. So, it takes a very fun powerful bike and just made it even a little bit better. And I love the fact

that they kept the geometry the same.

They didn't mess with something that's good. They just made the motor better

good. They just made the motor better and they also improved the seat post dropper and the wheels making them tubeless setup. So, you really do with

tubeless setup. So, you really do with the Ramblas have everything you need in an actual entry- level e- mountain bike.

And I say actually entry level because I don't think $5 $6,000 is entry level.

That really is a lot more than entry level should be. And I love the fact that Aventon, this classic lifestyle brand, you know, has stepped into the

performance category that really kind of puts some pricing pressure on other brands to offer something of value at a good price. And I want to just again hit

good price. And I want to just again hit again that under $3,000 it's a hard tell but it is a full power motor. So it is a full 100 new m of torque which is just

very powerful. I mean even more powerful

very powerful. I mean even more powerful than like the Gen 4 Bosch. You know the Shimanos, the EP8s, like those that we've been riding for years and just loved to get a full power legitimate

motor, really good geometry and good components under $3,000. They really

have knocked it out of the park on this bike. Last but not least, we have the

bike. Last but not least, we have the award for best performance gravel bike under $3,000. And I love the fact that

under $3,000. And I love the fact that we have one under $3,000 that we can give an award to. And that goes to the Ride OneUp CFR Racer 1. Now, yes, that bike was on our list last year,

definitely belongs on this on the list this year. Check out the new color

this year. Check out the new color option. There's a really cool color

option. There's a really cool color combo. I'll let you go check it out. But

combo. I'll let you go check it out. But

this bike still offers incredible value.

Priced [music] at just under $2,200, you get a carbon frame stem handlebar bike that is a legitimate gravel bike that is [music] really fun to ride. It has

really good components. So, it has a 12-speed ShraMM Apex 1 drivetrain. It

has Schwabby G1 toolless tires and just everything that you need on a good gravel bike. Good geometry, good feel,

gravel bike. Good geometry, good feel, good rigid, good rigidity. It's a bike that is just a lot of fun to ride. Now,

for that price point, I don't think you can expect a mid drive motor, and that's not what this has. It is a rear hub motor, but it's surprisingly good and capable. So, it's 250 watts with 42 new

capable. So, it's 250 watts with 42 new m of torque, which is definitely enough to kind of just take the edge off and get you up those steep, you know, loose gravel roads and hills that aren't

really fun on a gravel bike. Makes it a little more fun on this bike. Um,

[music] and it's very quiet. So, I've

actually had several people as I've been out kind of riding it come up and just compliment me on the bike. They don't

even realize that I'm on an ebike until I tell them. That's cuz that motor is just kind of hidden there behind the cassette. And so, no, it's not a mid

cassette. And so, no, it's not a mid drive, but the rear hub performs surprisingly well to the point that it re how they've dialed it really does make it feel like a mid drive. You still

have to put in some work. you know, it's kind of what you want if you're gravel riding, but it's kind of like an EMTB that just unlocks trails and makes it a whole lot more fun to ride. And the

other part that I would add to this, and also plays back to the to the Ramblas, is the CFRA one is kind of that perfect zone 2 training tool. You know, when I was training for a for a long ride, it

was like 76 milei ride here in St.

George. I actually took out the CFR racer and used that because I was able to stay in zone 2 but still get in, you know, a good, you know, 20, 30 plus mile

ride on that bike because it has that, you know, electric assist on it. Just

making a more fun gravel option. Okay,

you've heard me talking a lot and you know to be honest I just want to make sure that it comes through that every bike that we have highlighted is really a fantastic ebike. There are more ebikes

out there that are great, right? Like if

Um cuz there's definitely an argument in every one of those categories to add another bike or two. And I think that's just a bigger indication of where the ebike market is in 2026. Right? In the

bicycle world, the industry has been using the word bike apocalypse for I think the last 4 years. It's not the case in the ebike world. Like we are seeing a ton of really cool innovation

and a re, you know, ebike quality just improve over and over again to where now, you know, in 2026 we're seeing brands like Aventton, Veltric Electric.

They're they're household names. They're

names that are considered top tier where in 2020 people just wrote them off. It's

like, "Oh, it's not truck. It's not

Specialized. That's garbage. Just throw

it away." That's not the case. And all

of these bikes are under $3,000. Yes,

that's still a lot of money, right? And

we we definitely recognize that. We'll

do a best, you know, cheap video here soon. So, pay attention for bikes, you

soon. So, pay attention for bikes, you know, $1,000ish dollars and below, cuz we know the $2,500, $2,000 is still a significant investment, which is why we

put so much time filtering and testing, making sure that every bike on this list is a highquality bike for the category, you know, that it that it's in. So,
