Can you see it?
Yes.
Perfect. Can can everyone uh hear me nicely without any problem?
Yeah. Uh really nice. Uh I think they already mute. So if if if you need Okay.
already mute. So if if if you need Okay.
them to talk. Yeah. Just let them open the the the Mac is fine. Yeah.
Okay. Uh so yeah. So so um I'll just like introduce myself briefly. Uh if at any moment you guys have like any
question uh feel free to to um to ask.
Uh even on on on the the Zoom um the Zoom chat uh I have like like automatic translation. So even if you write in
translation. So even if you write in Chinese and you have ask a question, I I can like read it and and respond to it during during the class. So feel free to
to uh like intervene at any moment you want. Uh so for so so I'm Arthur Ker. Uh
want. Uh so for so so I'm Arthur Ker. Uh
I'm I'm French designer and and I've worked in a in um in the past in in a few companies. So so I I I'm I'm
few companies. So so I I I'm I'm graduated from from Strat in France in Paris. You I'm sure you guys know know
Paris. You I'm sure you guys know know the school. I I've met like a few of of
the school. I I've met like a few of of your colleague that went there. Uh so I graduated in in two 2014 and then I uh
after an internship at at Mercedes and at Nissan I I started uh working at Peugeot as interior designer.
I worked for three years there. Then I
moved to California to work for Mazda.
Uh I spent also three years there and um and quite recently last year I moved to uh General Motors uh as a project
manager. Uh so so it's been a year I've
manager. Uh so so it's been a year I've been working there. So uh so I'll just like um go through uh the
non-confidential projects. So it will be
non-confidential projects. So it will be like only what uh what I've done at at Pujo. So uh so the two show cars. So
Pujo. So uh so the two show cars. So
I'll go through it and um and if you if you have any any question of course the the project you've seen them but if you have any question feel free to to ask.
So at Pujo I've been involved uh first in the in the Pujo 208. So my very first production program uh I was mostly a
support interior designer. So I worked on on what we call the cluster here and uh and and one console. So it was it was
super interesting to me. I was just uh freshly out of school. So it was like like fantastic to learn and uh and to be involved in a in a cool project because
the the interior looks awesome. Um and
and then uh I was uh in the first time of my career a lead designer uh for for this
um uh concept car, the Pujo Lair 500 concept for the the reveal for the the game the PlayStation game Gran Turismo
Sport. So I was the lead interior
Sport. So I was the lead interior designer on that project. And then
basically because the project went well, it uh it led me to to be in charge of uh the Pujo Instinct concept one year after
has been revealed in Geneva. So uh so three years from now.
So I'll just start with the with the instinct concept because it's the it's uh the the the non-confidential most
important work so far. So basically
what was interesting in in that car uh was the fact that it was the very first uh autonomous car for Peugeot. Uh so so I imagine you're you're quite familiar
with Peugeot, but everything in in interior design is quite driven by the pleasure of driving and this uh this
thrill that um the Oh, sorry, Zach. Do
you want me to stop sometime so you can do the translation?
Is there anyone here?
Hey, can can someone hear me guys? Can can can someone to tell me if
guys? Can can can someone to tell me if if uh if you guys understand it?
Yeah. Yeah, I think so.
Okay. So, um but but do I I didn't Sorry, I I went through it, but is there like um do I need to stop at some point for someone to do the translation or I
just go like full in English and it'll be fine for everyone?
No, I think English is good. I think
everyone is can understand.
Okay. So, I I'll I'll So, sorry I I interrupted myself, but um I'll just keep keep going.
Let me go back to full screen. So it was the the the first autonomous show car for Pujo and the first like autonomous car in itself. So basically what was
really interesting was to kind of come up with the first layout to in the interior to at the same time um having a
lot of pleasure driving it. So, like a super nice steering wheel, very supportive, very dynamic, but having a real experience when you're not driving
the car. So, the steering wheel retracts
the car. So, the steering wheel retracts back in the in the IP and you have this massive screen that you will see in the in the the next images.
So, that's what I I told you about. So,
uh those were like some of the press sketches that I've done. You you've
probably seen it. Um they it was it was a lot of fun to make them and and it was it was also like extremely extremely fun
to to work on on different graphic texture try to to come up with a a nice feeling for those sketch and capture this the modernity of the of the
interior. So this was the this the the
interior. So this was the this the the thing I talked to you about. It's like
even if the the car can drive by itself, uh when you're actually driving it, it just brings a lot of pleasure with a lot
of mechanical pieces that you you you feel moving. And um and that was the
feel moving. And um and that was the overall um intention and brief for this
interior was uh how um the the the autonomy of of a vehicle can still be um be uh
be involved or how can I say that? how
the the the an autonomic ve autonomous vehicle can still be um part of a of a of a car that that you can drive with
with a lot of uh intensity.
So let's move on to the next one. So
this this sketch shows like the the whole interior. Uh we will we will talk
whole interior. Uh we will we will talk about it in next u the next weeks. But
uh I love to um to to work a lot with uh with 3D modeling. So at this time I used Rhino a lot. So these lines here are
from Rhino uh to to develop the theme, develop the volume and uh and this was like the end result of it is this uh
like a screenshot from Rhino and uh and a way to um to create um a cool illustration out of it. So, as I
mentioned, the the whole theme of the car was to have this driving post here that can retract. And when it retracts,
uh you you have like this massive screen here that you can enjoy movies or directions or any infotainment, entertainment, uh informations.
So the the whole point of this this class and and this is why I'm showing you those sketches is uh through through my my my small career I I've always love
sketching and come up with different sketch styles and um and I want to share that with you. We have 10 weeks. We have
plenty of time. So, uh, I will come up with with a bunch of demos that to to show you how I do my little tricks here,
how I come up with, uh, dynamic composition and how I end up with uh, detailed sketches that still keep the
same uh, feeling as the the the intentional one, the theme sketch.
So those are from from some some pictures from from the Geneva show and that that was the the the car
overhaul. So very dramatic entrance. Uh
overhaul. So very dramatic entrance. Uh
those pictures were taken uh on the rooftop of the of the the design studio in Paris. Uh it was it was it was quite
in Paris. Uh it was it was it was quite funny and and to see like for the first time uh a car that I've been involved in was was quite emotional.
So here it's it's a it's a funny funny page. Uh it's a it's like a this here
page. Uh it's a it's like a this here was the very first sketch I've done to be to be selected. One of the two sketch those two were the two sketches that I've done at the beginning of the
project and and they were picked to to develop and and this is the probably the latest one. So, as you as you can see,
latest one. So, as you as you can see, the the overall role of a of an interior designer uh is to to be to be um to to
keep the integrity of of the theme and to translate this nice sketches and this nice intention that everyone liked into
into a beautiful product. And that's
that's u like like that's the the most challenging part is how to to keep this uh this theme still alive when you're
doing the the final product even if the the the project goes for for years because because to make a car takes takes a long time and it can be like for
for a show car usually like a year to two years and for a production car it can go for for uh three to five years.
And yeah, that that that's one of my my favorite shots. Uh it's just like it
favorite shots. Uh it's just like it shows how dynamic the car was and um and it's just like a it has like a like a crazy spaceship feeling.
We played a lot with those lines to make it super speedy.
And the other project I I wanted to to talk to you about was the 500. Uh this
was the the it was actually the very first one I was involved in in Pujo as a lead designer but uh this wasn't meant to be a real car. It's it was for a
game. So of course it was a little bit
game. So of course it was a little bit um I would I wouldn't say easier but uh there were less pressure on it. So of
course um no less constraint if I may say.
So this was the the the the overall theme and and the the idea for that one was basically because it's a the car is
meant to be driven in a game, how we could create like a like a cool experience in the game. And the idea was to uh instead of having regular
speedometer here in a cluster that could have been here to do like horizontal one that could turn and show your speed in a
very active way.
So we we designed with my with my modeler all this driving post here around those those crazy turning speedometers that moves that articulates
and that that goes like horizontally vertically and it just like it just creates in the game uh like a unique experience and and a unique feature for
the design theme. It's it's just like what was really interesting it this this was totally unique to that car and it
become kind of a a part of its identity.
So as you can see here you see those those speedometer here that just like gives you the speed and kind of like make this whole um driving simulator
even more dynamic.
So as you can see like how this this sketch translated to here the shape of the tangle ve very iconic very very special. Um and as as I told you uh
special. Um and as as I told you uh every every press release every sketches that that you do is a is a way to try
something new is a way to try different styles different different way to sketch. And and that was like a I would
sketch. And and that was like a I would say like like um a lucky try. Uh, I just wanted to I was inspired by some some some comic book artist and I I tried to
to mimic what they were doing and I ended up there. I'm not sure it's the most amazing sketches, but it was it was really fun to do.
And of course, even if if um the project you're doing is for for a video game or a portfolio or uh whatever the purpose
is, uh I imagine all of you want to to have a to to improve your your portfolio, your your sketch level, your
design level, your expertise. And what's
really important is on on the project we'll do together is to to go from from very emotional sketches like that theme
sketches to go all the way down to more detailed sketches that kind of show the whole spectrum of your expertise. Being
able to capture an intention and and an emotional content and to translate it and keep it until the very last. and
finest details.
So that's that's what personally fascinates me in in the in designing current is is this this
multiplicity of layers of um of attention for the designer. You have to be able to to do beautiful sketches that that you look from far away that capture
the whole interior, but also you're the one that that is capable of zooming in and still have the same intention even
to the finest detail to the graphics to the HMI and all of that. Uh you're
you're leading all of that.
The the seat was fun as well. U it's
it's it's a it's a it's a a one seater vehicle. So like like mostly like like a
vehicle. So like like mostly like like a like an extreme race car. So the idea was to even if a if a race car seat is something quite conventional, there is
nothing completely crazy you can do with it was to play with the way you you cut the the the seat to make it dynamic to
feel like this shell around you and to couple it with some visible structure that connects the seats to the rest of
the car. So this is why uh I I really
the car. So this is why uh I I really love doing this seat because it it I created like a like a nice nice
interplay of exposed structure connected to the seat belt and all of this tied together with this cocoon seat. So I I
really like that sketch and it was it was really fun to do and as I mentioned so this is the car from far away. So the the exterior has
been done by by my my friend um uh Vadim Gilta um an exterior designer from Romania, very talented and and what what
kind of like um made us laugh at the end is when you see the car from far away, the the the interior intention, the very
first intention, those circles of the theme, it you you you still see even from far away. And and it was it was
just uh very um rewarding for me that those became a part of the the whole identity of the car. The like this this
theme intention I had at the at the very beginning became a part of of this whole car even even when you look at it from
the exterior and it it just like gives a very special taste to this car.
So, do you guys have any any question on on those projects? Some I don't know maybe
those projects? Some I don't know maybe some stuff you you ask yourself and I I I have no idea.
Um because after that I want to uh to move to the to to what we will do in that class. But if you if you have any
that class. But if you if you have any any question about my my curriculum, I I I would gladly uh answer it.
I'll just like give you a minute uh to to to answer back to me if if you want or to tell me to to go on if you prefer.
No one guys.
Do I do I need to to keep going?
Uh, I'll just check the the WeChat to make sure I'm not forgetting anything.
Okay.
So I I'll take that as a as a yes to go on.
So let's go back to full screen. So the the the what what I want for this class I
don't know is has it uh any of you attended my class last year maybe.
Yeah. There are one guys uh wait okay yeah he took the house last last time last year I think I'm I'm Wson I'm Wson
oh nice to nice to talk to you yeah nice to talk to you again it's been a while yeah exactly but we'll do some some cool
stuff together so you last you attended the class last year so I will try to make it a little bit different this year. So I don't repeat myself and and
year. So I don't repeat myself and and I'm I'll have to confess I will work more for that class. I will like be Oh, thank you.
The idea the idea is basically uh I want to like go through all of the creative process phases. So, I want to
like take you to to a 10 10 week class and do like all of the the steps in an interior project as I do every single
day at my job at General Motors and I did at at Mazda and and Pujo. So
basically we'll go all together through like we'll do like a in how I will show you like how I do insp my my inspiration
research how I just like uh dig images uh find some content to be inspired by and how I I can like um just like create like a
a first story like a fundamental for for my project like a brief
So then of course uh we'll do some some ideation together and and and we'll just like um I'll share some some skills to u
to illustrate ideas quickly some very quick sketches style uh you can do like like 10 a day with very basic shaders.
uh and if you if you if you remember uh from from uh last year uh that's some some some techniques that I that I
shared last year. Um of course after the ideation sketches the idea is to to f to find this this sketch that we
really like to to pick one that we really like and to develop it into theme sketches. So what I call theme sketches
sketches. So what I call theme sketches is the type of uh of sketches that you would present to a a design competition
inside a design studio. So refined
sketches but not not crazy refined like like sketches that you would do with a very basic uh 3D data but not a completely full final press sketches
rendering.
something to be picked to to to win a project.
Then of course after the theme sketch comes the the more refined sketch. So
the one with a like a a deeper understanding of the detail uh a deeper understanding of of the overall
uh intention of the car uh the overall mood and of course all the way down to the detail sketches. Last year we do we did
detail sketches. Last year we do we did it kind of the opposite way. We started
from from the detail sketches. We
started from uh uh like very small part of the vehicle to grow it to finally be able to design a whole car. So now we'll
do it like a a more conventional way but uh it will be like a easier for me to to
to share uh with you my way uh to um to do a project. And of course throughout
all of those uh five steps uh I will I will share some some demos. I'll do some um share some skills and um and some
some some knowledge on of the the interior as well. Some knowledge of packaging, some knowledge of uh of proportions of balance. So this of
course will will will come diluted in in the the 10 weeks. So it won't be like demo every every single week. It will be
like a a little bit of a uh of um of a mix.
So to show you that I I will do I will I will show my process um doing a project
with you. So So the idea is I will do a
with you. So So the idea is I will do a project as well. I will I will I will do my own interior of course nothing confidential. I'll just like start over
confidential. I'll just like start over fresh from from now on. Uh I don't know what I'm doing. Uh I I haven't thought about it. So it will I will just like um
about it. So it will I will just like um put myself in in your shoes uh in um so so I can explain to you a little bit my
own personal approach and just just because it's exciting. Uh,
I will do the interior of like a future Mazda RX because I want to do like a sport car, something quite fun. Uh, just
something extreme and very cool. And
because I'm not at Mazda right now, I I finished my my time there, I can sketch it and not being confidential. So, I
thought it would be really nice to um to do this type of interior. And um
so even maybe if you have like better suggestion I can I can change it but uh I think it it could be really nice. This
is this will be my project. It's not for all of you to do a Mazda RX just to be clear. The idea is this will be my
clear. The idea is this will be my project and you will come up with the car you want to design. if it's like a production car, a show car, something
advanced, whatever you want. And uh but the steps I showed here, whatever your project is, you will go through that and at the same
time I will go through it with my own project.
Is does this make sense to everyone?
Does this uh this process kind of kind of like do do you understand it?
guys.
Yeah. Yeah, we are we are quite clear.
Okay, perfect. So, uh what what I um is first of all, is there um any question about all of that?
I imagine it's quite clear. So what I would like to to do uh for for this first class with with all of you uh because uh it will be like quite quite a
a chill present a chill moment. Uh it
won't take that much time. It's the very first class. So, um it's uh it's just
first class. So, um it's uh it's just about like getting to know each other a little better and um and and to me to
start start this this project I I talked to you about. So basically uh the first thing I I I want to do is is to to to
find some some inspiration and um and today I'll just like do as I would do every single day at at my job is to find
on internet on some some website that I like some images that could kind of like um fit to the project that I'm working on.
So uh I'll just like escape this presentation if I can.
Yes, here. So I'm sure you're completely completely familiar with all the tools that I'm doing. It's not I'm not doing something revolutionary here. It's just
to to show you like a my regular daily routine and of course what you will have to do for uh next week.
So basically I want to do like a like a super cool RX interior. So if I the first thing I do
interior. So if I the first thing I do because it's a production car, it's Mazda. Uh the design language is is
Mazda. Uh the design language is is already quite established. I will kind of like um find some first of all some
inspiration of the brand that um I'm working on. So basically I'll just like
working on. So basically I'll just like open a blank canvas on on Photoshop and I'll just like um find some uh
inspiration like a like basic u Mazda design language or Mazda design or whatever. um mostly engineer.
whatever. um mostly engineer.
I want to just like find the the the the latest interiors just to see like the the taste of it. So I want to um
so I want this one. No, this I'm mostly like show cars. Not I'm not that into production cars for this project.
I want the RX interior.
So, yes, this one here.
So, just to give me like a little bit of a taste here. So,
I'll just turn the background to black just to make it a little bit shinier.
I'll take that one and I'll take the the what's the the other one maybe maybe on I can find it on net car show.
I guess you guys all know net car show.
It's just like a like this thing you you can find every every car. It's just like a like press release of every single car. And I want the vision coup concept
car. And I want the vision coup concept interior.
That's the one I want.
So, no need to be um to be like uh very fancy with the layouts of all of that. just want I just
want like a a clear vision of of uh of the project I'm working on.
Yes. Here.
So then I just like uh I like to spend a little time uh just like looking at it and and trying to to understand a little bit of this uh design philosophy. So, so
basically here it's like a like very sporty very very uh um driver centric
like everything is around the driver u and and at the same time it feels very um very authentic. a lot of use of
natural material. Some um
natural material. Some um if I just like zoom in a little bit, you see like this wood feels very natural.
You could even like smell it. You have
like some some old leather, some very tiny shiny aluminum, brushed aluminum.
There is some some authenticity to it.
And based on that, I just like write down some some small words.
Sorry, Photoshop is freezing a little bit. Yes. So, just as a as a guideline,
bit. Yes. So, just as a as a guideline, maybe smaller here.
Yes. So,
I would say um authenticity I don't even know if that spelling is right.
Let me just check it.
Yes, that's right. Wson, it's better if you if uh if you you reach me by by u we
chat. I have it just under my nose.
chat. I have it just under my nose.
Uh let me just check the spelling. Uh
Seems I got it right.
Okay.
So authenticity uh I would say uh of course um speed
um and or maybe maybe not speed maybe more driver centricity.
But but I want I want I want still something that that feels advanced that that has this uh some some modernity to it.
So here, so even if it if it feels a little basic, I still it's it's I still think it's
it's important to have um like those those few words as guidelines. what's
really really important at this stage of the project. So basically what you're
the project. So basically what you're doing is kind of a like um
um a guideline for the whole project. So
the clearer the guideline is of course the the the easier the the choices you will make throughout your project will be.
Uh just like changing some some uh tuning some situation because it
doesn't look it was too red. Anyway, so
this is just like like a I always like to to do some analysis about the thing I'm about to work on. So in this case
it's Mazda. So just trying to understand
it's Mazda. So just trying to understand a little bit of this this design philosophy. So
philosophy. So uh I think by just trying to summarize in a few words helps a lot and and just like pushes you to really understand it.
So then this is what has already been done. So
the idea is to to go forward to find some inspiration that can just like kind of pushes you to to create the next step
for for this brand.
So um but but of course following those those words and I mean as as like any any of
you I imagine we we're using like some of the same website. There is just one that I would like to share with you. I'm
not sure you're using it. Uh it's a it's a website called ideas about nothing.
It's actually a funny funny name, but it's like a regular regular um Tumblr, but the cool thing is as you can
see when you scroll down, basically the images that that are shown are um are uh
kind of like um organized by color.
So, like you see like you have like all of the orange colors here and when you scroll down it gets like like colder.
You see like they kind of like match it by materials and color. So, when you're uh starting a project, it's kind of like
a a nice way to to jump from from one idea to another even if it's quite far.
Uh, it just like helps you quite a quite a I I just think it's just like helps you connecting the dots. Um, and you can like scroll down there's some some cool
stuff. Uh, and for me like for this
stuff. Uh, and for me like for this project, I would love to find some some more like authentic materials. Some you
see like some some crazy colors and you just like they combine it all together.
I love those type of stuff here, but I want more authentic stuff. Yeah, like
like those those I really love.
See, like with this uh like nicely textured leather. Uh let me just put it
textured leather. Uh let me just put it here.
I'll just like drag and drop them.
See? Like this. This is This is really really cool. I use them sometime. I I
really cool. I use them sometime. I I
just like I repeat myself using those images. Uh but you see like just like
images. Uh but you see like just like this this uh this layering of material.
It just like intrigues me. I kind of like it.
And you can like scroll down.
It's just like a like a a nice way to jump from from one image to another.
This is kind of cool.
And of course, like there's no no limits. You can you can just like uh you
limits. You can you can just like uh you need to find like I don't know 10 20 images but but still having the same um overall feeling
just giving you like a a tiny different taste every time kind of create this uh overall atmosphere
for uh for your um your project.
So this was one of them. Uh, let me just like I would love to to pick another image, whatever it is. Um,
something that could be nice.
This is actually kind of cool.
I love those those texture. I'll take
that. I just I I I really like the the structural aspect of this here.
See like um when you sorry maybe some some new chat question. Okay. Um
see like when when I have like this authenticity here I imagine also like authenticity in the the material in the in the structure.
Let me just like make that a tiny bigger.
Uh hey sure.
Yes. Yeah, I think they will cast into the the the chat window or zoom the chat window. Yeah,
window. Yeah, here. Uh, let me just check that. Here
here. Uh, let me just check that. Here
there is a chat window.
Yes, here it's loading.
Uh, chat window.
No, I think it's in the the the I don't I don't Oh, you don't have it?
I don't really see anything.
Uh, is it like uh I think just the the the Let me Let me show you what it looks like on WeChat. One second.
WeChat. One second.
Okay. Uh let me just stop sharing.
Oh, sorry. It's I think it Yeah. Okay. I
have it.
You can keep sharing. No problem.
Uh but I don't know how to let me I don't know how to do it and and sharing my screen.
It's just like a there is a button in the under the the the the window under the window. Yeah. Yeah, I know.
But I since Oh, it's here. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Uh
it's a chat window. Yeah. Students will
test into the window and maybe they will ask some question. Yeah.
Okay. I have it.
Yeah. It's okay. It's okay.
So is there any any question or okay if you guys if you guys like uh want to to to ask anything you can uh you can do it here. Uh I don't the only
thing is on we chat I can I can translate right away on this uh this conversation chat uh I will have to like uh Google it probably.
Yeah no problem just uh keep going. Yeah
it's fine. Okay.
So, um like nothing nothing crazy new here under the sun. Uh let me just like put that somewhere else.
So, I'll just like put some order here and and jump to to another another website that I that I like.
So basically, so the idea is to of course I you already all know that for for sure there's I there's no doubt that that you
know, but it's it's it's still very important uh to to start from from this um this first step.
It it has to be like a it has to be clear and define define the the word you want to to to to
put your your future object in. So like
those words that you you can like um uh you can like uh uh create from from the brand that you choose it has to to to
guide you uh to to pick those images.
So, so there there has to be like a like a clear link between uh between the the the word that you're
creating the the those words here and and all of your images here. It's it it has to like
images here. It's it it has to like flows nicely and and make some sense.
So let's just like uh move on to um to some some uh all the website um oh the
where's the chat? No, where's the zoom? Anyway, so um
zoom? Anyway, so um then there's um there's something that you might not know. It's a it's um I
think it's a it's a website that um a bunch of French designer has done. It's
called uh Lont so sorry it's a I say it the French way.
It's it's a blog spot. It's quite old, but they they kept it dated for a while.
And it's just like some some cool images of uh cool stuff. And sometimes you get some really nice uh graphic inspiration,
some some tricky stuff, some raw materials, uh just some some beautiful way to solve uh solve areas. It it's
just like a it has always um kind of um a next factor to those images. You you
you know those guys, they're the the Renault designers. Um you know, like uh
Renault designers. Um you know, like uh all of the all of the guys who did like a Speed Birds, all of those guys here,
those guys they they did this uh this website here. And of course, uh, the
website here. And of course, uh, the probably the the best interior design, the best interior designer ever, um, Yan Jasal.
So, this guy also, you know, it like the guy who did the Tor and all of those show cars. So this guy is is also a part of
cars. So this guy is is also a part of the the team that that just like picked the the images for for this uh this this
blog spot. So it's just like um there's
blog spot. So it's just like um there's some some really cool stuff that you can you can just take some inspiration from.
So and you can like literally just like scroll down for forever. It's just like completely random, but it has always this uh this X factor to it. So I'm sure
like uh in this uh authenticity that I'm talking about I can I can I can can find something here. Uh this is beautiful.
something here. Uh this is beautiful.
So yeah, this is beautiful. It's not
exactly what I'm looking for. Uh but you see it you get some vintage images. Some
Oh damn. This is cool.
So here so ideas about not ideas about nothing and uh and the container there are just uh just some
some nicely chosen images for you to to dig into.
It's just some some cool stuff. And of
course um you can you can also um go on Pinterest uh you see like when I
easily like with just by typing here just like before I typing like a I type leather uh because I want to find some uh just like old used leather like this
type of stuff or this type of stuff just as a as inspiration like this is this is really cool something that just like felt um purposeful.
Yeah, this is really really nice.
Damn, this is cool. Yeah, like this.
This inspires me quite a lot for this project.
Uh just find the the images that I prefer. I don't know what what could be
prefer. I don't know what what could be could be the one, but you know this this like a horse saddle uh feeling. It feels
like like a horse saddle.
Maybe I can I can take like a horse saddle.
That's something that uh could be could be nice. Um
be nice. Um it's a little a little too much.
The previous one was better. I just take that one here.
So quite easy, nothing crazy.
And uh and of course uh what I love because because some guy did the work better than than I did. Uh you can you can find like um
some if you if you have some some some designers who like took that to the next level. I'm thinking about like Arthur
level. I'm thinking about like Arthur Martins or uh my my buddy Sydney uh who just like kind of like spend their whole
day just like pinning images. So, if you go if you go to um uh Arthur Martins, I don't know if there's a H in his names.
Uh how do I find this dude here?
So he just like took it to the next level and and just like by uh just like completely organizing
uh inspiration images and to be honest when I just I just pick from it uh just like just
scroll down and and he it's just like a library of images that he organized nicely. So I I don't I don't I don't
nicely. So I I don't I don't I don't have to if someone did the work before me on on that type of stuff, I'll just
like uh of course thank him and and use use this uh these images that are just like so
different, so diverse that you can you can find whatever you want.
So yeah. So, so, so Arthur did it quite a quite a lot. So, if I imagine like a like for myself uh for my project, I
would I would go for like a product design or those type of um or jewelry
that could really um could really help me. Or maybe color and trim.
Yeah, some some color and trim inspiration is always nice.
This is really cool.
Yeah, this is beautiful.
Yeah, this is quite nice.
So, I'll just like close that nicely here.
And um so um so um and then after that so what what I
want from you is is of course to to come up with um with all of that and and from
from now on we will we'll call uh this this moment of the project uh the the story.
This is the story of your your your project. And basically
project. And basically the the goal of um I mean your goal when you do a project is to come up with this
story and to stay close and to keep it until the very end of the project.
Because if you if you um if you end up to like um like a a nice set of images that really ties together kind of like
uh create um a great a great mood. If
you if you successfully uh keep that mood until the very end of the project, you kind of have like a like a a whole and complete story to put in your
portfolio and it will all tie together nicely.
So, does that make sense to uh to all of you? Oh, yeah. And and last last uh last
you? Oh, yeah. And and last last uh last but not least uh the important part is
to um to explain in a few word uh what will be your project. So in my case it's just like a a Mazda
RX like a slash race car or maybe super car.
um that fits all of that. So, I'll just like uh put it in a better way.
So, Mazda RX slash super car And
oh no, sorry for the spelling mistake.
So this to me will be my starting point just like with with this I I I almost
I'll just like maybe uh put um a picture of the RX vision. Um,
let me just like bring this uh RX vision picture.
Just like a nice move to it here, here.
And okay, perfect. So when I when I look at this
perfect. So when I when I look at this board here, to me there is no um no question. It describes clearly the brand
question. It describes clearly the brand that I I want to work with. uh the the few words that just like um kind of uh
summarize uh what I think is important uh for for my project to uh to keep in mind and of course this
set of images that gives like a like a very first flavor a very first um idea of what could come next.
So of course uh I want from all of you to have this same type of board uh explaining
uh the project you want to to do for for uh this uh 10 weeks.
And uh what's really important is that you you explain as well uh the the type of vehicle you want to do.
This is actually like very important to me. Uh it can it doesn't have to be like
me. Uh it can it doesn't have to be like very it can be like very very advanced like a like like spaceship stuff. You you can
do that if you want. There's absolutely
no problem. Uh but you have to be aware that uh I I am I am like um uh I've been
involved in a in production program uh showc car program that are that were uh
very carl like. So the closest you will get to a to a car interior the more I
will uh I will be able to help you. So
this this is what I want from all of you to do for next week. Uh since we have like a lot of time uh I've been talking
just for for one hour. Uh maybe what I could do uh today with you is just to um to share some uh some some some some
basic vocabulary just for for for half an hour just so we all agree on on the terms we're using. uh even if it's very
basic um it it won't take that much time uh but but it will be helpful for uh for
the the future. So is is before I do that is this very clear for everyone. I
imagine you do that for every project but do do you have any any question about that?
Hi, can you hear me?
Yes.
Yes.
Um, yes. I have a little question about that and I would like to have this short self introduce first and um I'm and
currently doing my final major project at RCA and also as uh we have a classmates in this course. Uh we we both
are doing the FMP at RCA and as you might know that RCA are uh as well as
Strat are um pay a lot of focus on how to combine the mobility with uh smart city and doing all the research part and
I was wondering how do you find the balance point of uh really advanced the research and uh the designer perspective
in in in this process and uh and and um we we are doing this research um about how to telling stories and I
was wondering do you um do you have a more like uh in OEM have this uh positive way
of uh telling the story Do you use some scenario or persona or Yeah, of course. Of course. Uh you you
use a lot. The thing is usually um the the thing that you have to understand is uh what what uh a school
will ask you to do, finding a persona, come up coming up with a scenario and all of that. This this is when you're a
student. this is a oneperson job but
student. this is a oneperson job but when you're uh in a company in an OEM it can it can be a multiple job uh a
multiple person job so for example right now it's the first time of my life I'm working in a in a pure advanced design studio at General Motors so they are
really really into this scenarios this how the the the city is changing and the
personas But usually what happens is uh the personas are given to me.
Oh.
So, so of course it's a part it's a part of your job. It's a you you absolutely need to understand it and and you need
to know how to um to respond to it clearly. But so so so it's a really good
clearly. But so so so it's a really good thing that you learn how to do that uh at school. But when you're in in uh at a
at school. But when you're in in uh at a full-time job as a designer, of course, what what people want from you is not to create the persona, is to give the answer.
Yes.
Yes.
Do you know what I mean?
Yes. I quite understand. And um we we kind of struggle with this point was um how to imagine what people need in the
future and uh we only have six weeks to to do the the final exam. So
we want to maximize if you if you if you if you want to if you want to share it with with me. Uh
the thing is uh what this this uh this layout this this page here is really like a like I would say like a designer
centric. But uh if you and and mostly
centric. But uh if you and and mostly like like show car or production car driven. But if you if you want to to
driven. But if you if you want to to share some more advanced studies uh more um advanced work previously to your
project, I'm like all in like there is no problem. I can like give you advices
no problem. I can like give you advices on it. I can guide you through it.
on it. I can guide you through it.
There's absolutely no problem.
Okay. Thank you. Really appreciate it.
No problem. So, so of course, of course, like this is this is a starting point, but uh any additional content that you
bring, if it's a persona or if it's like a like a scenario for a new city that you you you came up with, uh it's it's
just additional information that will complete this overall story that I'm talking about.
Yes. Thank you so much. And I I am quite looking forward to uh uh can you share
more about uh your currently company are doing the advanced department?
Uh yeah so um you know like the you mean what I'm doing at GR Motors right now?
No not quite familiar with that.
So sorry I couldn't hear you. I I mean I'm not quite familiar with you currently doing. Yes, I I'm familiar
currently doing. Yes, I I'm familiar with your uh old work uh right now generatively but
it the I I cannot I cannot really share confidential work. Uh but the funny
confidential work. Uh but the funny thing is uh I've been involved in a in a show car that that will uh be be shown
like in a quite proxy in a quite um in the future quite close. Uh so like maybe maybe I will I will the class
won't be over. Uh but basically like um uh the the the studio I'm working in is the the studio
that did the the the Kadia CL.
So they did this car here quite a long time ago. So this this beautiful like
time ago. So this this beautiful like super long car. They did the Cadillac Elmrage here.
edit that. And basically the the project that I've been involved is uh the the the the next show car for for Cadillac. It's not
it's not like nothing completely new. Uh
the the fact that we do a show car for Cadillac, but uh this is this is the the work that that I've been doing. Uh so so it's um
it was like a as exactly as you described is how in in the future and and with the evolution of
uh people's behavior with um uh this this this whole new tool that we get screens everywhere smartphone and all of
that. how we can just like redefine a
that. how we can just like redefine a little bit the spot and the use of the car. So, this is like the the purpose of
car. So, this is like the the purpose of the show car that that will be shown. Uh
I think it was I don't know if it's January or February. Uh nothing
completely like crazy confidential, but uh I cannot tell you exactly what the car is, but it will be shown quite quite soon. Uh so I would love to uh to to
soon. Uh so I would love to uh to to discuss to you about it when it's uh when it's not confidential and to show you like u I'm working on the on the
press sketches right now. So it will it will be fun. I really hope uh it's uh it won't be it will be shown before the class is over and even if uh if it's
shown after we can like we can talk about it uh there's no problem.
Okay. Thank you so much.
And and just so you know, like at Mazda, what I've done is uh I did the I did the
the the next CX5.
So, um it should have it should have uh should have been released, but with the the pandemic and the the COVID 19. So,
so this is the current CX5 and and I did the next one. Um, I spent like like a lot of time in Japan to do that over the
past three years. Uh, but with the with the pandemic, it it it kind of like um it slowed down the the whole industry as
as of course worldwide and you you you probably know it as well, of course. Uh,
so I cannot I cannot say exactly when it will be released, but it was supposed to be released at the end of the year and I imagine it will be like a little bit
delayed, but I'm I'm really really looking forward to seeing that on the road, like the my very first car as a
lead designer on the road. I'm really
looking forward to to see hope so.
Uh yeah. So and and to be honest, this is also uh why I wanted to uh to do the project on on this class because because
I've been involved in in just only confidential projects. I cannot really
confidential projects. I cannot really like um share content with you. So I
thought that maybe uh like creating content in that class with you doing a project is also like a like a way to um
to show you uh how I work right now like how was my process right now and it's a little bit different from when it it used to be uh what uh three years ago.
Yeah.
Thank you so much.
No problem. No problem. We have we have another classmate have some questions for you.
Of course. Of course.
Let let him unmute.
I will make Hi. Hi. Hello. Hi Archer. Hello.
Hi. Hi. Hello. Hi Archer. Hello.
Hello. Hi. Thank you for sharing. And
I'm Hector. I'm um I'm Lynch's classmate as she mentioned. Yeah.
And yeah, I actually have two question right now. the
right now. the why is related to the the schedule of our class and the other is about maybe I
want to ask you some view you have about the whole industry so so the first one is I want to ask um because you know we
are doing our like a final major project so and also there's only six weeks to go
and maybe we maybe about the schedule we Um uh can we just be uh ju I mean just
me and Lynchi just us too to maybe a little bit faster because Yeah, of course.
Yeah, we've already done something about the research the story and also some little development of the design. Yeah.
So maybe for the next week we want to show you some maybe like some um some tiny scenario sketches.
You know what what we'll do is it's really good that you that you told me that I didn't know it but what we can do is uh you you're not a lot of students
so we will I will have like way more time to spend with each of you compared to last year. Like last year I had like like 30 students and it was like very
fast for each student. So right now we you are just like like 10 or 12 or so I I will have like a lot of time uh to spend correcting your work and helping
you uh just like uh sketching over your work to show you how to improve it. So
basically uh what we can do is for the next weeks uh you can show me what you have in your project. So, so we can uh
go forward and move it move a little bit faster. And um but the the demos I I
faster. And um but the the demos I I will try to schedule it so you get to uh
to see some more refined demos uh I would say like uh before the fifth week.
Yeah, thank you. It's it would be really appreciated for me. Yeah. So yeah and and so yeah so for my next next question
I was uh I was thinking about the the card because the the now looking for some changes some for
some um transform transformation and um so the car you you can see the new concept car the show cars they are all
um have a trend of becoming a box or maybe a toaster. So and also a lot of students student students they are doing
this like quite similar works to design a box uh car and um do you think this is a good trend or it is is this some is
something we should as a designer to resist or like avoid in
that's a good question the thing is uh you guys are um like young designers or
students and you're looking for uh nice designers job in in big big OEMs. So
basically uh you you have to um to find ways to make those uh eggshaped or toaster shaped uh car interior look a
little bit attractive. That's something
that we are kind of like to be honest struggling to do when there is no steering wheel where there is just like seats inside and not that much. So you
have to find a way to make that attractive but at the same time you have to be able to uh sketch
beautiful regular interiors because the the the the car industry is shifting but it's shifting slowly.
So I assure you that uh you will have like for quite so many years still cars that will need to be designed with a
steering wheel with components with all of that with regular seats and you have to know how to do that as well. So I
would say ideally in a portfolio you would have both. You would have like some crazy stuff that shows to uh the
person you're you're uh looking at your portfolio that you're interested in in what's happening next. Next, you're
interesting is in all of the changes that uh then a car can can the car industry can make and all of those new concept, new new crazy way to use your
car. Even if it's egg shaped, but you
car. Even if it's egg shaped, but you can like find an attractive way to do it. But at the same time, you have to
it. But at the same time, you have to show them that you can make a regular car. You can make beautiful steering
car. You can make beautiful steering wheel. You can make a beautiful console.
wheel. You can make a beautiful console.
You can make a regular car interior. Interesting.
So, it has like a a nice portfolio has to to have this uh duality.
Yeah, I think it's that's Yeah, I think that's true. And yeah, and also um maybe
that's true. And yeah, and also um maybe for our teachers, our tutors in the school, they're they're asking us to
look into the future. maybe some um some like some time like far away from us and
um and like by the by the time the car layout has a big changes and so do you
think um maybe it is acceptable for us to doing like such toaster car or like a box car in this class. Maybe
you you can if you if you want, you can, but I will push you to uh to make it interesting.
Yeah.
So, you know, you know, like when you when you're talking about this this car and and I it's still confidential, but I've designed car that looked a little bit like a toaster, but I tried to make
it interesting. So basically the big
it interesting. So basically the big challenge is to find areas that you can
bring details and attention because basically there's nothing in the interior. So it's you to choose what uh
interior. So it's you to choose what uh where you want to to uh to put the spotlight on if I if I could say. Do you
understand what I mean?
Yeah. Yeah. like like for example in a regular car you have like a you have areas where you have like a lot of details. You have a steering wheel with
details. You have a steering wheel with a lot of buttons with some uh some nice uh leather nice aluminum. You have a
cluster with details with numbers with just like all of that. But in a in a like a autonomous car that's uh
self-driven all of that disappears. But
it's also a lot of freedom for you to do whatever you want. Like you can you can do like a I don't know like what literally whatever you want. Exactly how
you would just like put furniturees in your your nice living room.
Yeah. I think I think although it Yeah.
Yeah. You go first. I'm sorry.
No, no, no, no. It's go ahead, my friend.
Yeah. Yeah. I I think maybe it's uh maybe when when we're designing this kind of like u um
a box car or something like our living room maybe uh we have to we have we don't we we we uh we don't we have to
keep this like details we have to keep details rich and yes it's basically the same philosophy when we're doing uh like a traditional car. So
yeah, I think is this like when when you what's a little bit different the difference between designing a an exterior and an interior? The main difference is when
interior? The main difference is when you design an interior, you have what I call like layers of detailing. So you
can look at the the car from far away, the interior, and you will see like like big volumes and all of that. And when
you get closer, you see more detail. you
see like a parts separating from each other and all that. And even if you look closer, you see even more detail, you see like nice texture. You see uh
different ways to apply materials and all of that. And and this kind of like a creates the beauty of an interior.
Even if if it's like a like an autonomous car or a boxy car, uh you still have to to keep this layers of
detail. You still have to to um create
detail. You still have to to um create something for the user to be seduced by, to be attracted by. And u it's the same
it's the same process, but the object is a little bit different. And the trap is to uh end up to something too simple
with not enough detail or not enough refinement or not even not enough uh thought into it and it becomes kind of like a a blank page. It becomes like too
neutral and this is the thing that you absolutely have to avoid.
Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Yeah. And yeah,
thank you. I think you you have answered all my question. Thank you. It's been
very helpful.
No problem. And of course uh if you if you if you want to like a do like a an autonomous car in here with no steering
wheel with just like big screens or like a living room space, you can absolutely do it. No problem. But make sure that I
do it. No problem. But make sure that I will I will I will be on your back to to make sure that this project that we're doing is interesting.
Yeah, thank you.
No problem. No problem.
So maybe maybe some other question.
So uh if there is no other question I will just like uh very briefly take an image like that and um and just talk
about vocabulary. It's it's it will be
about vocabulary. It's it's it will be like super basic for uh I guess all of you but it's just um
it's just so so everyone is on the same page. I'm sorry if it if it's a little
page. I'm sorry if it if it's a little bit boring for most of you.
It's just the the starting point. So
here here perfect.
If you if you guys have some some question do not hesitate to to interrupt.
So basically, so this is the CX5 in here and um we'll just like
explain with a few clear words the different parts of the vehicle. So
So this here uh let me just like This here is the steering wheel.
Very easy.
Nothing so surprising.
Let me just do it the right way.
So this is the steering wheel. Here
we have the cluster.
Don't worry, I don't it's it it's sorry it feels like I'm I'm I'm like teaching some some some kids how to talk, but it's not like that. It's it's really
like a it's just a starting point. I I
don't worry. I know that that most of you know every single word that I'm using.
So from all of this here is the IP instrument panel.
So I'll just like put the arrow here.
So So instrument I know.
Um, this here, let me just put it in the right position.
Here is the vent.
Uh what else? Uh yeah in important this here the thing that just like a project
information on your wind screen windshield is the up here.
It's what we call the HUD.
It's the head up display.
So, HUD head up display.
Uh, what else?
I'm just trying to to figure out the the the the most uncommon words.
So this part here of the the steering wheel, the circle around, we call it the rim.
Maybe there's an E. No, doesn't sound right. I don't know. The rim
right. I don't know. The rim
then.
Uh so here in the middle
is a console or the tube.
No one.
So this is the central console. all of
that here.
And uh what else? Clustering will see but you you know probably um
so and and just like maybe just the very last one here and here. All of this and all of this here
is the armrest.
So, I'm not sure the spelling is totally okay.
Do not forget that I'm French. This is
not my native language. Uh so of course uh I don't know exactly the card that you will do but
I I will be I will I will probably talk at some point about IP section.
So this is the IP section.
even if it's like super clear and there is no there's no trap it's it's it's it's easy but uh it's a it's a word that uh I will I
will probably use depending of your your project of course so this is the IP section and
one last thing is usually Usually why is it not working? Yeah, usually you have uh what we call
the bone line here. So this this is the bone line. You see like there's like
bone line. You see like there's like like this this bone here. So we call it the bone line and basically what's under
the bone line we call it lower. So
all of that is the lower IP here the lower door and everything that's above
it we call it upper. So upper IP and upper door.
So, nothing like a I'll I'll just like uh make it a little bit clearer.
Oh no.
Here and here. Why is doing that? Sorry, I'm
and here. Why is doing that? Sorry, I'm
using a a Mac and I don't like Apple products.
Uh okay. It's because of that.
okay. It's because of that.
So, so where exactly the B line is?
Okay. So, the bone line you see like here on on the IP if you if you look at the
IP the section. Let me just if you look at this section here, it has like an angle here. So the bone
line is this angle going all the way to the car.
Do you understand?
Okay.
Okay.
So it's literally here. Usually it's in it's in the middle of the IP. You see
like you have this this concave shape and the the apex of it is is the bone line.
So I still have it here. Maybe. Yeah.
So this is the bone line.
uh starting to get confusing. I might
use a different a different uh a different picture. Uh
let me grab another one.
So, this picture is awful.
Uh this one I used last year. I don't
want to use the same It's a crappy here. This one I hate it.
Perfect.
Okay, perfect.
So, And perfect.
So we'll do it here.
So the bone line is that that line that split the car the interior in half. So
it's right here.
I'll use the same red.
So, it's the bone line. I'm I'm sorry for the French. Uh I'll I'll try to to change my my Photoshop uh setup to English. So, this way when I use some uh
English. So, this way when I use some uh some uh special tools, you'll be able to uh to use it on on yours. So,
uh here is the upper IP.
Here is the lower IP.
Um, and there's one other line. So
usually you define you define in here between the bone line and the other line that we often talk about is what we call
the the the water line.
So this line is the water line. The the
line that's splitting the interior and the exterior under the glass and under the windshield. This is the water line.
the windshield. This is the water line.
I don't really know why it's called the water line, but maybe the weather from from exterior to interior.
Yeah, maybe.
So that's pretty much and of course the seat but you know uh so that's pretty much what uh what vocabulary we will
use. So of course you imagine like every
use. So of course you imagine like every little detail has like a like a specific word in English for it. Um so so if some
some of you do more um more production car we will we will go through it for sure but you might not
all need to do it.
So that's pretty much the vocabulary we will use to to review your your work.
So is is it clear for everyone?
There's nothing complicated here, but uh it's just like I think it's it's good that u that we do that just like once for all so everyone has that as a as a reference.
So everyone, we're online.
Yeah. Yeah.
Okay. So uh I of course I will save that say I will save everything that I do uh during every uh every each class and I
will uh send it on the the Zoom uh no not the Zoom the WeChat um group so you have like all of it just I'll just go
back to um to the initial thing. So for
next week, I I don't have like a lot uh more to talk to you about. So it's like it's a it's a quick class, but the first
one is is always quite short. Uh so um the next one will be a little bit more intense because next week uh I will I
will give you like some some demos on live sketching. So, we'll just like
live sketching. So, we'll just like basically spend a few hours sketching together with a webcam and doing some uh some uh just like a cool cool doodle
that I would put on Photoshop and and do some some basic basic colors on it just as a as a to illustrate the ideation
phase after going through all of your your homework. So basically what I
your homework. So basically what I expect for you from you for next week is is to to come up with this story here.
Uh so this this is the basic one. So
this is the very least that I expect from you is to have like a clear brand with a clear type of vehicle uh clear
inspiration images. So a clear story. So
inspiration images. So a clear story. So
when I when I see your your homework, I need to understand right right away what type of of project you want to do. If
it's like advance or not, if it's production, if it's like a which brand it is, and uh all of your inspirations.
So don't don't take it as a as a perfect template. just like do do everything
template. just like do do everything that that you want to make this story clear. So if you need to to use some
clear. So if you need to to use some some some words, I think it's always helpful, please do so. If you if you
want to to do like a persona to explain better your story, do it, of course. And
if you if you need to explain a little bit of the the context, uh I'm I'm thinking about the the evolution of a of
the CD or stuff like that. If this this is important for your story, do it. And
and we will talk about all of that uh next week. Is it is it clear for
next week. Is it is it clear for everyone?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh yeah quite clear. Uh I I have a question Aer. So so would you mind share
question Aer. So so would you mind share Yeah. would you mind sharing your slides
Yeah. would you mind sharing your slides uh in the beginning of the Of course.
Yeah. Yes. Thank you.
Yeah. I will I will share all of that in the but maybe um I need like a I'll get like a like an email address from from Zach and maybe
like for like for a little bit more uh important content like with a bunch of slide. You don't want that in the in the
slide. You don't want that in the in the WeChat chat group. Uh so so maybe I'll I'll share like through like a simple email address. I will email that to you.
email address. I will email that to you.
Yeah. Yeah. Cool.
Perfect. Is is there any any other question about anything?
No.
Hi.
Hello.
Hi. Um
Yeah. Great. Um uh I was thinking maybe um I was thinking does this project has to have a brand because uh basically we are doing like uh now we're doing
everything without a brand and our our tutor they they don't think we have we should be
um like limited by the brand. Maybe we
can we can for maybe just have a desire no brand car maybe. Is that okay?
It's it's really up to you. Um my
personal opinion is um when when you when you're a designer to to understand uh the brand you're working for is a
part of the job.
So of course like it's a it's you can design a a no branded vehicle. There's
there's no problem with it. But it's
kind of like uh taking one constraint away.
You know what I mean?
Uh yeah, I yeah I understand.
So So if if so I'll be clear. If uh the project you will do you're using it for another
class and you need my help to do it and this other class uh ask for a no branded project, no problem. If the project
you're doing it, you're doing it only for the class and only for your portfolio, only for my class and only for your portfolio, you absolutely have to to have a brand.
Yeah.
Is it clear?
Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Yeah, it's very clear. And maybe maybe I'll find a brand
clear. And maybe maybe I'll find a brand uh that suit my project because it's it's always better. It's it's always
better. Um, it's just it it gives you um
better. Um, it's just it it gives you um like a some some some how can I say that? It's just like a
it's just a part of your job to to understand the brand and and to uh use
it to to shape your object if if of course if you are a if you're a car designer.
Yeah. But but it's it's not like a there it's not that there's no value in in no branded vehicle because like a you know like there's a
you can do like a project that's more uh like extremely advancoriented and and no brand there is no problem. I I have I have no problem with it, but it's just
like I personally feel that it's more more interesting to um to use a brand, but it's it's it's really up to you. I
don't want to I don't want to push you to to do something that you feel uncomfortable with. Do you understand?
uncomfortable with. Do you understand?
Yeah. It's it's Yeah, it's I think it's not um uncomfortable. It's a maybe I'll try try to find a brand. Yeah. Yeah. I
think it's maybe it's better. Yeah,
it's it's however you want it. It's just
like I want for next week to really understand what you want to do with this project. The the the better I understand
project. The the the better I understand it, the the better I will help you.
Yeah. Yeah, I understand. Yeah, I
understand. Yeah. Thank you, Arthur.
No problem. Um,
is there any other question?
No.
Yeah. I'm asking them. Yeah.
Mhm.
Like I understood, man.
Uh yeah. So I think that's pretty much it.
yeah. So I think that's pretty much it.
Okay. Yeah. So this this was the first class uh like the first short class. Uh
next week will be like a little bit more more dense. So it'll be like a I don't
more dense. So it'll be like a I don't know. It's hard to plan but we'll
know. It's hard to plan but we'll probably like do like like a I don't know four hours or five hours because it will be like like live sketching. So um
really like to to every students take this really seriously because it's it's the it's the first step of your project.
So the clearer this is the the easier it will be uh the development will be. So
just like a take a few hours it's always nice to take some pictures uh create this story. No pressure about sketching
this story. No pressure about sketching something. No worries about that. We'll
something. No worries about that. We'll
come to it. And um and I just want to to hear like some really cool stories next time before starting sketching.
Per good for everyone.
Okay. I I imagine it is. So uh if if anyone has some some question tell me right now or um in in in
the other case. Uh I was like super happy to to meet all of you today. I'm
I'm like actually like uh extremely surprised that that you speak super well English. So it will be like a like a
English. So it will be like a like a nice nice way to exchange and um and I'm quite relieved that I don't have like a lot of students. So we'll have like a
lot of time to to really like go deep in your project and and make it um improve as much as possible. So, I'm super happy
with the class and I just like can't wait to u to continue next week.
It's good for everyone.
Yeah. Good.
So, yeah.
Yeah.
So, so perfect. So, I will I will um Oh, just one last thing about the timing, Zach. Uh I think so. Is it is it the
Zach. Uh I think so. Is it is it the right timing 8:00 p.m. or or like 11:00 a.m. for you or you prefer to
a.m. for you or you prefer to Yeah, we are good. We are good.
Which one do you prefer? I don't care.
It's up to you.
You prefer it.
Maybe maybe we can do like one hour earlier.
Yeah, no problem. If you want to if you want to make it earlier, we are all okay.
Okay. So, let let's set for uh 10:00 a.m. for you. So, it's uh it's uh 700
a.m. for you. So, it's uh it's uh 700 p.m. for me.
p.m. for me.
No problem.
Perfect. Thank you all guys. It was a pleasure to to talk to you again after a year and u yeah we'll do some cool stuff together.
Cool. Thank you.
