hi I'm W he back in the day I used to have skin like this this and this now it looks like this this and this there's no denying the Korean skincare is taking over the world so in this video I'm going to share with you the secrets to

having good skin that Koreans use to look like this this and this let's get into it so the first thing to say is that of course in Korea we have people with bad skin with cystic acne with lots

of redness this exists everywhere in the world skin is mostly governed by your genetics your diet and your SLE sleep now genetics you cannot change so if you improve your diet and your sleep you're

going to do wonders for your skin whatever nationality whatever country you are in having said that let's get into the particularities of Korean culture that help them have good skin and the first one like I said is to do

with the diet what most people don't realize is that your skin is actually related to your gut health if your gut is really healthy the chances are you're not going to have as many skin reactions acne redness swelling because the gut is

where bacteria and infections are fought off it's by the gut mic microbiome so how do you get healthy gut again good sleep good exercise good diet this goes without saying but one thing that has been getting a lot of attention is

kimchi what the hell is kimchi it's the Korean national side dish you've seen me have it several times on on my channel if you watch this it's spicy fermented cabbage and we've been having it for

centuries now apparently the fermented aspect of kimchi means that it is actually very good for your gut health because it has probiotics if you're somebody that wants to improve that gut then looking into these kind of

fermented foods kimchi kimchi chig these are great options to improve your God Health but you don't of course have to start there you just want to start caring about gut health doing regular exercise sleeping better eating clean

and this is a great step to getting better skin next if somebody tells me they got bad sleep I asked them how much do you care about it like care about getting good sleep and it's the same thing with skin people that care a lot

about good skin like a lot of girls generally they generally tend to have better skin than most guys who we just like run out into the scorching sun with nothing on our face cuz we don't really

care that much about our skin now what happened when I went to the Korean military it was shocking we would all shower together at the same time cuz that's what you do in the military then you'd go back to the place you sleep and

I would just put some moisturizer and I'll just lie down on my bed and that was me done and all the other guys would open their chest or their wardrobe thing they would look in the mirror and they'd

be putting on product after product after product some for like a good 5 15 minutes letting things dry going with the neck and really using like the top

half of their hand and like rubbing in like different products like ampols and vitamin C and all this and this is 80 to 90% of the guys in the military which to be honest is a really great sample of

Korean dudes to take and if dudes are doing it you can be damn sure that the girls are doing it what am I trying to say Korean dudes and girls care about their skin a lot and because they care

they start to try different different products and even if those products are not good and are actually harmful or totally unnecessary through that process they find out what works for them what

triggers their skin and they land on a selection of products that help them but the most important thing is is that they care so they're going to be on the lookout and this is what you have to do if you want to improve your skin is you

got to be thinking about what are my skin triggers what gives me acne what caused that spot that one time and actually start taking steps to address it next so what are these guys actually

using now I have tried a fair few of these myself you got the amples you got this vitamin C hydronic acid you got the retinol you got the moisturizer you got

the sunscreen you got the cleanser we could go on and on and I ain't no skin care expert so I'm not going to pretend like I know the benefits and the downsides of each product but having

done my minimalist research and based on my minimalist philosophy of keeping things simple the absolute Basics that you need is cleansing moisturizing and

sunscreen and these three were done by all Koreans who were doing those multiple skincare steps then you got the extra cool things the vitamin C amples the holonic acid and the exfoliating

cream and all this kind of stuff but I actually think a lot of these are unfounded I'll let you do your own research on it but for most people it's just going to come down to Cleansing moisturizing and applying sunscreen

three steps that I need to do better myself next Koreans have this history of vampire culture what does this mean you know how in Europe when you go on holiday you get a nice tan from the

south of France from like the Italian Rivier and you come back and everyone's like oh my God your T it looks so nice it's a sign of affluence it's a sign of a time well spent everybody loves a tan

now if you come to Asia tan is considered to be bad because tan skin for us in our history meant that you were working the fields you were working on the rice fields you were working as a

lower class right so instead of signifying affluence signified lack of resources poverty so historically Koreans be avoiding the sun we wear

umbrellas to hide from the sun when there's no rain Korean guys also in the military are wearing rash guards long sleeve rash guards and hats and like

baclava masks almost to hide as much of their skin from the Sun personally what do I think about this I think sunlight is extremely healthy for testosterone for vitamin D I think getting sunlight in the morning is really important I

think getting sunlight generally in the day as long as it's not scorching 12:00 Sun for 5 hours I think it's very healthy having said that I think multiple research has shown that excessive exposure to sunlight can be

damaging it's what makes your skin age so Koreans being Koreans obsessed about their skin will try to hide their skin from the Sun a lot and this results in better skin unlike me and you in England

there's a little bit of sun everybody rushes out to that little circle of sun and tries to suade the sun's finally out do you care to put some sunscreen or moisturizer no you don't you just go out

smash your face into the grass playing rugby and nobody cares next Koreans don't necessarily actually have better skin than you we just hide it well now I

don't think I've hidden it well but you guys might be able to see that I have two little cheeky stickers here that hide the spot that has come up on my

cheek and these patches are lifesaving I think they now sell them abroad but I'm pretty damn sure Korea must have invented this cuz we love these cosmetic products that make us little prettier another example is this thing called BB

cream which is basically like Foundation it's like so developed that we have injections they're called anti-inflammation injections that they put into an emerging spot to reduce it before it

comes and you can get this you can pay like $4 $5 to get an injection into your little spot to make it go away now I've lived in Europe I don't know if that's

easily available I I don't think it's even legal or something but that's very very available in Korea so you can see there's a multitude of cosmetic ways that Koreans are portraying themselves

to the the outside world and it's partly because of the availability of Korean skincare industry my own experience was that it was actually quite good my skin improved for about a week after and then

if you don't take care of it it returns to its original state next so here's a funny story I was in a cafe these two Korean girls they were taking photos of each other and I'm working and I'm taking a little break and I hear one of

them say cuz it was such a weird sentence it was like why is my nostril so big and the other one goes your nostrils and she's like yeah my nostrils too big and the friend listening goes just reduce it what she meant I think

just reduce is just like do this thing on a face fixing app on their phone before they post it to some social media I don't know if that's what she was actually referring to but very likely from the context that's what she meant

so they can literally just color over and like hide [ __ ] on their face before they post and stuff so you might be fooled into thinking Korean people certain influencers have great skin when

if you see them without makeup if you see them just plain and normal they may have just as much imperfections as you next you do actually carry a lot of germs in your hands and your fingers so

if you don't touch your face too much this is good for not having bad skin and Koreans are very sensitive about cross-contamination and this is because in our recent history we've had a lot of

like viruses and things come around our country not just Co but like SARS and all this kind of stuff so we were actually remember the first country to go like crazy full mask during Co when everyone was like masks don't work

Koreans be all on the mask masks and still be wearing masks when the co is over so Koreans are very conscious about this cross-contamination and the germs on the skin and because of our history of different viruses we've been told to

wash your hands every time you come home and things like this and these practices obviously help your skin because a lot of the time and you'll know this if you have skin problems yourself when you end

up touching skin that has acne you can spread it to other parts of your body as well bring those all together guys those are the reasons why Koreans seem to have

good skin I hope I triggered only about 80,000 of you watching this but no more because I don't want to get in trouble I only make these generalizations so as to help you take the best parts of this to

your own practice so that you can develop better skin for yourself and there you have it for all the guys that have been asking for a skincare video see you next week bye-bye
