The raycast my schedule command makes it super easy to join meetings when the time comes. They're going to be there
time comes. They're going to be there waiting for you on root search and when you press enter you will join no matter the app the call is happening on. If you
want to do a quick check up before joining though here's a setting for you.
You can make it so Raycast [music] opens your camera before joining any meetings so you can make sure that you and your background are looking sharp.
There's so many hidden tricks like this in Raycast. And it's been so long since
in Raycast. And it's been so long since we've done one of these videos. So, here
I come today with nine more. Let's go.
There's so many things that you can do with AI extensions. So, any of them could really be one of the hidden tricks. But there's one that's super
tricks. But there's one that's super versatile. The ask shell command. It
versatile. The ask shell command. It
basically gives you the ability to ask AI to run any shell command for you, obviously in natural language. If you
pair it with a finder extension, you can create an AI command that uses ffmpeg to convert a video and as an argument, you
can add any specs you want to pass through and AI will figure out the syntax to pass to the shell. Super
powerful.
There's a very popular extension called downloads manager which I've talked about in the past and I use it every single day and it has lots of
interesting commands. Show latest
interesting commands. Show latest download is one of them. It will not only open the downloads folder but also select the latest item in there for you.
map this to a hotkey, in my case, option D, to have a really fast way to get to the files you've just downloaded and be ready to manipulate them without ever
touching the mouse.
If you're ever deep into lots of raycasted views, you don't have to press escape a thousand times to get back to root. Command escape will do it
root. Command escape will do it immediately. It's one of those things
immediately. It's one of those things that took me a while to get used to, but now I use it all the time.
If you're like me and have tons of hotkeys and aliases and extensions installed, the extensions tab in settings can quickly get a little bit overwhelming. A little trick that helps
overwhelming. A little trick that helps me find what I need is this little filter button to show only customized.
This correlates heavily with the things I use the most and it's also an easy way to have an overview of all of your
hotkeys in case you want to tweak them.
Raycast Notes is super useful for presentations and writing stuff down during meetings. If you're sharing your
during meetings. If you're sharing your screen though, you might not want your viewers to see what you got on there.
Here's a hidden trick. When you're in a note, inside the command K action panel, you'll find an option to hide notes while screen sharing.
A lot of raycast commands take arguments like the classic Google search quicklink. For all of those, if you add
quicklink. For all of those, if you add a hotkey to them, you can just select a piece of text and fire your hotkey and the selection will be automatically sent
as an argument to that command. when you
have this setting turned on.
Speaking of hotkeys, did you know that you can set a double tap shortcut for any Raycast command or app? You could
set shift shift to open Finder, for example. Just select the box to edit
example. Just select the box to edit your hotkey and double tap your modifier key. A lot of people use this to launch
key. A lot of people use this to launch raycast with command command.
When you create a quick link, you have the option to choose which app Raycast will use to launch it. This is helpful for things like notion docs or Slack
chats that are URLs you want to open in the dedicated apps instead of the browser. What's cool though is that you
browser. What's cool though is that you can always open with any app you want on the fly by searching for the option in
the action panel or with the shift command O shortcut. All right, these were my nine hidden [music] tricks for the day. So, I would love to know if you
the day. So, I would love to know if you learned something new and if you did, then leave a comment below and while you're at it, why don't you share your tip as well? Because to be honest, I'm
always learning new things [music] from you, too. As always, make sure to
you, too. As always, make sure to subscribe to our channel for more news and tips about Raycast.
